So, I start finished this book from Jay Krisoff, being pretty much his love letter to vampire fiction in general.

Reading it, it is pretty damn good, the hability to get as much worldbulding without feeling bog down to it(unlike George martin sometimes) and the action is pretty good, he know when to describe a fight and when just skip it whch is nice.

As for chararters, Gabriel is very much a sort of dark fantasy starter hero: cynical, asshole, quite self serving with a VERY hidden heart of gold but the writting is good enought he come as charming rather than derivative. Others like Dior are mostly solid even if a little cliche like almost all religious chararter, specially as Gabriel argue with them.

My only issue so far is the final third become a little tiring since it become a string of Gabriel facing really shitty odd, getting out only to get into another very after that, the equivalent of a boss rush, I recomend to read this is short bust because it get exausting how the plot kick him so damn much.
