Inspired by and spinning off this thread, this is a general thread for Media Categories on this wiki.
Continuing a discussion from that thread, what media category should Manhwa and Manhua go under? They're usually lumped in with Anime & Manga, but that media category is specifcally for Japanese animation and comics. So I'd suggest either giving them their own media category of either "Eastern Comics", Manhwa and Manhua get their own individual media category, or we just put them under the general Comic Books.
True, true
I'm mainly asking because I'm in the middle of getting rid of those pesky Ns.Web Original subpages in trope lists and those often contain articles in the Roleplay/ namespace
Art Museum Curator and frequent helper of the Web Original deprecation projectRoleplay might be thought as a format and as an individual work of roleplayers?
After clicking on random trope until a sample size of 20 trope pages with a Roleplay section was reached—this took a long time—I counted 18 Roleplay and 2 Roleplays. All had multiple works in the sections so it wasn't a case of someone deciding 1 example means singular folder name.
Roleplay/ is usually either LARP or Play-by-Post Games
Art Museum Curator and frequent helper of the Web Original deprecation projectPersonally I would have started with the Related page of a Roleplay work page. Not quite random but a better hit rate.

Maybe we could just add
Roleplay
to the official Media Categories page to make it clear?
Though, what do we pothole it to?
Play by Post or LARP?
Art Museum Curator and frequent helper of the Web Original deprecation projectI was trying to avoid trope pages possibly crosswicked by just one person, but the pages did turn out to contain a handful of the same RPs.
"Roleplay" is fine with me. There's also Journal Roleplay. So maybe it shouldn't pothole anywhere.
Yeah I'm good with either no pothole
Or just pothole the Ass Cap to Blue Link
Anyways, I'm gonna add "Roleplay" to the media categories page.
Any objections? If not, I'll go ahead.

Art Museum Curator and frequent helper of the Web Original deprecation projectAlright, I'm adding it
Art Museum Curator and frequent helper of the Web Original deprecation projectI don't see the point in this.
The page has "Other" potholed to Blue Link

Art Museum Curator and frequent helper of the Web Original deprecation projectHadn't noticed, but I don't see the point to that, either, other than aesthetics.
I'd just remove them both as Sinkholes. If I click on a blue link reading "roleplay", I expect to be taken to a page about roleplay, not TV Tropes Glossary (which Blue Link redirects to).
I've removed both sinkholes

Art Museum Curator and frequent helper of the Web Original deprecation projectAnyone good if I add
to the media categories page?
Art Museum Curator and frequent helper of the Web Original deprecation projectNow that we have a Platform namespace, should we add it to the Media Categories page? Or are platforms not supposed to have trope examples?
Welcome to Corneria! They are subtype of Useful Notes and aren't works as far as I'm aware.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupEh, some platforms do have tropes in its design
See Roblox
But that's an exception
Art Museum Curator and frequent helper of the Web Original deprecation projectWhich is why I wasn't sure if it's still a videogame, but we could use the logic for websites and wick to it if specific games don't have own pages, though preferably also redlinking.

TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupI think if you're to include a trope example about a Platform
Say Roblox or a trivia trope about the NES/other game console maybe
It would be fine to put it in the video games folder because it'd related to that
If you're to include a general trope example about a platform like Broadway, put that in the Theatre folder because Broadway is related to that.
It just depends on what kind of media the platform is mostly used for

Art Museum Curator and frequent helper of the Web Original deprecation projectWhat about something multimedia like DeviantArt
Honestly, I'm just good with putting a trope example for that in the Website folder. The actual reason it's in the Platform/ namespace is because it's primary purpose is to host Art and Literature, but it's still a wesbite, hence the namespace redirect.

Art Museum Curator and frequent helper of the Web Original deprecation projectThe crowner for Manhwa and Manhua example placement's been called in favor of putting them in their own folders.
So I've added Manhua and Manhwa to the official Media Categories page.
Art Museum Curator and frequent helper of the Web Original deprecation projectWould making/adding a Music Video media category to the official list be fine?
Sometimes you just want to trope that music video itself and not the song.

TBH I think I've only ever seen roleplay examples crosswicked once of twice; usually nobody bothers. So I frankly have no idea because seeing them in the wild is so rare to begin with.
