And they’ve worked with The Lorax and Addams Family in the past, too.

Got a puff piece from Deadline here about Shari Redstone - a majority shareholder in Paramount’s parent company looking to sell - attending the film’s New York premiere.

Bumping. Decided to go ahead and see it tonight. I’ll update this post with a review after…

Watched it, and given the Tomatometer is at 56%, have to agree it's nothing groundbreaking, but still very well made, acted and with a strong emotional bent. It's possible a few people will cry watching. And there's something funny in the credits: "introducing Brad Pitt as Kit", meaning it's the second time he's an invisible character in a Ryan Reynolds movie - although in Deadpool 2 he at least was visible in a shot...

[up]Honestly, I enjoyed it. I think the problem is that people are finding it a bit complicated or a bit maudlin. It probably could have leaned a bit more into the comedy in places, but overall, a solid recommendation.

I cannot believe they had the gall to call their "main" imaginary friend Blue. He's not even blue!

Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?

(His kid was colorblind to be fair tongue)

But yeah, I saw it today and enjoyed it myself. It's very much a movie that clearly set out to just be a cozy family flick and not try to reinvent the wheel, and IMO I think it succeeded in that. I could definitely see some people finding it a bit too schmaltzy for their tastes, but I personally didn't really find the movie's overall cute tone to be to the movie's detriment myself.

I liked a lot of the designs of the IFs themselves, too, and how some of them seemed to have 2D animation worked into their designs. I think Blossom, Cosmo, Ice, and Benjamin's unnamed IF at the end had my favorite designs out of all of them.

"Pardon me, that extremely loud and extremely deep voice you may have just heard. It was me. Oh, it is such a long story..."
