Where to put a list of works reviewed

A follow-up to this post on Ask The Tropers.

Recap.Joueur Du Grenier was recently cut due to being a list of works reviewed rather than a proper episode list. The decision in itself is understandable, going by the strict definition of what Recap pages are supposed to be for.

This was, however, at the cost of a lot of work over the years by people who contributed to the page, as well as a lot of wicks that, in my opinion, encouraged wiki exploration. Thus the question, is there a type of subpage that would be appropriate to put a list of works that a critic has reviewed?

It was pointed out that there is a precedent for a page that lists works reviewed by Zero Punctuation, and I do like that solution, but I'd rather ask for approbation before I actually go ahead and do the same for another review show.

I'd similarly would like to bring up "list of games" at pages like The Angry Video Game Nerd, Markiplier, Kizuna AI, SsethTzeentach. This also applies to effectively the entire Video Review Show.

Pros: Wiki Walk (which is a strong argument). Cons: Takes a lot of space that isn't immediately relevant and turns pages into mirror wikis.

Putting them in a folder at the top of the page is a good solution.

[up] This is only a good solution up to a certain point. Certain review shows have been going for well over a decade, and as such listing all of the works they reviewed on the main page ends up cluttering it more than anything, hence why a separate page would be preferable.

"Don't let all the effort put into the page go to waste" is not a good argument. Not our fault if a lot of people put a lot of effort into something that's off-mission.

The idea that it could encourage a Wiki Walk is valid, but it's worth noting that back in the day we used to have lists of works reviewed by various Channel Awesome contributors and Mystery Science Theater 3000 that were all cut; the latter, Mystery Science Index 3000, was cut in 2018 while the equivalent list for Doug Walker met the axe the previous year, and I imagine the others were cut around the same time frame. That's also around the time ZeroPunctuation.Reviewed Games was created, and I wonder if the relatively late date caused it to fly under the radar.

[up] Reading the post that led to the Main.Doug Walker List page deletion and the relatively short discussion that ensued leads me to believe that the issue was more regarding it and other similar list pages being misuses of the Main/ namespace. That would more likely be the reason why the ZeroPunctuation.Reviewed Games page was not part of said series of cuts. So I'd say those precedents alone are not sufficient to draw a conclusion from.

Either those sub-pages are considered an acceptable form of encouraging Wiki Walk when properly categorized, or there should be a clear statement made that they are contrary to the wiki's goals. In the latter case, there would probably need to be a discussion regarding what to do about such lists that are part of the work's main page rather than relegated to a dedicated sub-page.

Eh, except there's also the issue that there's been occasional pushes to deprecate work-titled namespaces in favor of dedicated namespaces for work example lists. It's been years since it's been seriously pursued, but the general principle of having a defined set of namespaces is still the one officially animating the namespace cleanup thread. I'm a bit uncomfortable with sanctioning a new purpose for work-titled namespaces, and would recommend the creation of a new namespace if this sort of project was actually sanctioned.

(I will say that I didn't find any discussion regarding the deletion of Mystery Science Index 3000 via Google, and the page-type thread seems to have mass-cut most of the Channel Awesome and other similar pages, so it's possible that's the only discussion extant. Incidentally, note that on that thread, RiffTrax Movies is a blue link... as a redirect to Recap.Riff Trax, which misuses the Recap namespace the same way the page that started this discussion did, so its fate should be tied up with whatever happens here.)

I think that a list of reviewed works would either need a dedicated namespace (ReviewedWorks/) or be put on the main work page for the reviewer. Given that we approved FanWorks/, there is a precedent for creating a "all other works related to a given work" namespace.

Reminding about Let's Play lists for channel pages that are kept as Web Video, these aren't exactly "reviewed".
