Yes, I’m very embarrassed.
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire. No need to be embarrassed, it's not like Velma doesn't have a history of trash-talking fans and detractors alike. It's exactly the kind of "joke" they would make.
Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?The point is that we shouldn't let ourselves fall for any old scam just because it reinforces our own beliefs.
Let's face it, the reason it got traction was because a bunch of people online are already inclined to hate Velma and a lot of people online are angry about Coyote vs. Acme. So of course a scam that validates hatred of Velma by exploiting the resentment over Coyote vs. Acme would get traction.
If you ever wondered how people fall for misinformation...well, now you know.

Disgusted, but not surprisedThe Velma screenshot is real, it's just that the actual dialogue is this.
And the original post that started a mess got Community Noted too.

If an official trailer does come out on YouTube, expect most of the comments in the comment section to joke about David Zaslav crying like a baby over his failure to prevent the film from being released and whatnot.

Though if it is officially released it will be because they found a buyer.
Zaslav would be rewarded by investors in such a scenario.
Disgusted, but not surprisedIn the meantime, The Daily Beast has a very doom and gloom outlook for the future of Hollywood economics, and CVA is the central example they use:

The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire. This part was interesting:
The article also mentions that, since it is has been put up for sale and apparently still is despite those earlier reports claiming otherwise, Warner Bros. cannot claim a loss on the film.
Also, I found out just now why David Zaslav still has a job at Warner Bros. I found it on this tweet.

Oh SHIT!
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.If legitimate, don't approve contracts like this.
I don't care if you think the CEO is your buddy.
There had better be a loophole to exploit.
With all the memes about women choosing a bear over a man, Hollywood might wanna get on an 'East of the Sun and West of the Moon' adaptationA Blessed Loophole!
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here. The tweet in question was comparing Zaslav to Bob Bakish who was recently removed from being Paramount's CEO.
Thing is, it's apples and oranges. Bakish is out because he opposed an upcoming merger that everyone else wanted. If Zaslav opposed a similar arrangement, he'd likely be out too, agreement or no agreement.
So I guess we just have to hope WBD wants another disastrous merger that will make it even more unrecognizable, and that Zaslav would actually want to oppose it.

Disgusted, but not surprisedSteven Ray Byrd has tweeted yet another screenshot from the film.
Remember when Warner Brothers was known for Bugs Bunny?
God, this company has gone to hell.
Anyways...
See the screenshot above? It's to keep us interested.
Honestly at this point I'd rather just wait for The Day the Earth Blew Up.
Bonus points since that will be fully animated and not yet another live action hybrid.
Disgusted, but not surprisedAnd then that'll be dumped for a tax break, too.
I don't see any point in "waiting for" any WB projects if they're so willing to dump them for tax shit.
They can't tax break The Day The Earth Blew Up. It's already been sold to another distributor.
Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonDidn't realize, my apologies.
And as has been noted earlier in the thread, they haven't even dumped Coyote vs. Acme for a tax break yet either. They're still shopping around for a buyer it seems.
The problem is that they want the full production cost back for it. $70~$80 million. And so far they haven't found anyone willing to pay that much for it.

Disgusted, but not surprisedThere's also a new live-action Scooby-Doo series in development, and David Zaslav can't do anything to that either because it's landed at Netflix.

Just goes to show how susceptible we are to social media scams, especially if someone's trying to stir a pot.
Fear it... or not.
