This is a thread engineers can use to communicate with moderation and ask questions about the following engineer duties:
- TLP management.
- Video example management.
- TRS/IP Crowner management.
- Pinning headers and editing thread titles for TRS/IP.
- Editing locked pages.
- Moving pages via page mover tool.
- Create pages in main.
- Move discussion pages
The primary reason why the engineer feature was pushed up was that the admins want the videos to be processed faster so videos approval should be top priority. You guys are free to work on other parts of the site but please try to work on the videos regularly.
Policy notes
- Engineers can unlock TRS threads, but must not unlock Content Violation Discussion threads (as the moderators need to be directly involved in The Content Policy work).
- This thread is visible to all users, as the contents are not confidential. However, only mods and engineers are able to post in it.

Still can't get "The Black Mountain" to play, but the other videos seem to be working. Some that I'm unsure about:
- "Like a Maze": It feels like there's not enough context to the video, as it's not immediately obvious that the entire place really is one straight hallway or that Zoro gets lost easily. Still, wanted a second opinion.
- "Milo Murphy's Law": Good for the secondary trope, but it's not immediately clear that Weird Al voices Milo. Reason to reject?
- "Shujinko Wins": Is the time between the points and the explosion long enough? The character also doesn't walk away; they just stand there as their opponent falls and explodes.
- "Chibi Kaguya and Shirogane": I know that it's also the page image, but it doesn't seem to actually fit the idea of the characters looking different in-universe than they do to the audience.
I got up to videos posted 5 hours ago and newer, with the older ones being these that I couldn't decide on (or watch).
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure Pureness@Warjay wrt editing a video's main trope, this is what it looks like for us; is that field not visible to you?
Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing.
Probably worth asking ~kory about that, alongside the latter part of this post.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupAnother thing I noticed is that, like with hats and crowners and stuff, I can't un-select an option and go back to neutral; some videos I approved but then got hesitant on but couldn't do anything besides deny, which wasn't what I wanted either. So to give us the ability to "un-select" an option without having to select the opposite option could be nice.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure Purenessmeaning return an approved video to "pending"?
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupYeah, basically. Just being able to back out if someone clicks by accident or has second thoughts.
I mean, the videos that this happened to me on are probably fine, but I realized that I wanted a second opinion after it was too late to get one (unless I wanted to ask you guys to dig through the approved list).
IDK how practical this actually is, but it's a little QOL thing.

Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI mean, we engineers can access it now too obviously; moving videos is pretty much the only thing we can't do it seems.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessThe video's original uploader can also access that popup, though from fewer places.
In our imo it would make sense to let them edit the main trope name too, but we assume this restriction was implemented for some reason?
Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing. The original programmer who made it doesn't remember exactly why that was added. Maybe because we didn't want users to be able to easily swap their videos to other pages without any approval process? I can unhide it for everyone or just add the engineers to the list so they can change what page its attached to.
Now monitoring Wishlist and BugsIt works
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessWhat's the protocol if we come across a video in the queue that fits the secondary trope but not the primary one? Do we reject it, or do we just change the trope designation?
The two videos on the queue under Villain Song and Villainous Advice Song (there were three uploaded, but I rejected the first one for not actually being either) both seem to fit Villainous Advice Song, but that's a Villain Song subtrope so Villain Song shouldn't be linked here.
Besides those two, there's only two more I couldn't place: The Crossover Punchline one because I wasn't sure if it was clear enough that it was a brief, plot-irrelevant gag; and the 11th-Hour Superpower one because I'm not sure seemingly always-possible fusions can count.

Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessIf I'm feeling a little more patient I'll change it myself and PM the user, but I think it would be okay to reject it and inform the uploader of the "use the most specific trope" policy via the rejection message.
I was asked to get a second opinion on a rejected video called "Kidnapped at gunpoint". My concern was that the clip went on for too long and that the second half wasn't necessary, however the uploader believes it still contains valuable trope information, such as Conan noticing the identity mistake had happened at all. Since my rejection was really a judgement call and they're okay with waiting for consensus, I want to know if anyone else wants to weigh in.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessThe part with Conan talking at the end explains the trope, although the viewer is likely to have that figured out earlier. I think it's fine to accept it.
Looking at some of the recent videos:
- "Matilda" - Doesn't seem to show either trope it's been submitted for, especially Ethical Slut
- "Like A Million" - Demonstrates, but the quality is abysmal
- "Robo Cop Alternate Ending" - ?? Demonstrates, but I feel like it's too subtle
- "Giant crab" - ?? Definitely a giant crab, but I'm not sure if being able to control it like that makes it this trope or a play on Spider Tank
- "Bokken match" - ?? I don't pay attention to tokusatsu media at all so I'm not sure how well this counts.
~Amonimus , ~War Jay 77 , what do you think?
- Indeed
- I'd ask to reupload not in 140p, but we have a quality bar?
- I think Fan Edit would be a trope that requires "showing both sides". It may be the actual footage from the film as far as I'm concerned.
- Doesn't look like Spider Tank. But it's also not Giant Enemy Crab since it's not hostile. It's just a remotely controlled giant crab.
- A new character spills their life philosophy verbally and physically.
That's why I was asking about the poor quality one, I wanted to check if either of you had rejected anything prior for being that artifacted.
I haven't yet, but I probably would reject this one.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessThe "Hoist the Colors" one has the same issue.
Here's another batch of ones I'm unsure of:
- RoboCop Alternate Ending: Maybe it's just me, but it's not always entirely obvious where the scene has been edited aside from a few lines of dialogue (which may be all there is to it). Also, the description is just "Disproportionate Retribution".
- The Blindness of Iolanta: Is it an acceptable use of the trope to have someone else hiding the disability from the disabled person?
- Giant crab: Does Giant Enemy Crab require the crab to be, well... an enemy? The examples don't seem to follow suit if that's true, and this video doesn't depict anything but a giant robot crab.
Stopping at "Abdominal Snowman" for now, because my internet is being slow and it's making it hard to get through the rest of the videos. Plus, I have other stuff I need to go. Oh, and I went ahead and denied "Hoist the Colors".
I also want to note that tomorrow and Saturday I'll be celebrating my boyfriend's birthday and I'll be offline for a lot of it. If the video stuff could be handled without me I'd appreciate it.

Yeah, that's not happening to me. IDK if it's just my computer being dumb, my wifi is also spotty so that could be it.
