I think it was just a marriage of convenience, Betelgeuse for all his flaws, doesn't seem to like minors.
Unlike the Goblin King of the Labyrinth, he did have some kind of insane obsession with Jennifer Connelly's character.

If you saw a promotional photo, Jenna not being dressed in goth clothing is great sign. It means she's not playing Lydia 2.0. I'm referring to the photo of her on the bike by the way.
I didn't knew there was a sequel in the making, are Tim Burton and Michael Keaton going to be involved?

Apparently so. Unfortunately so, given how... watered down Tim Burton's whole 'brand' has become in the years since, and Keaton is like 70 so there really isn't going to be the same energy even if his heart is still in it.
I will die on the hill that Charlie Day could have pulled off the movie version of the character perfectly, if you absolutely have to make a reboot or sequel.

I think with Wednesday he has found his grove again and Micheal still has a lot of the same energy especially for his age.
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadWith The Flash, that was clearly meant to be a much older Batman—a much older man in the suit. We'll see how the makeup sells how Beetlejuice looks decades later compared to the past—and if it's something that's willing to be overlooked like with Better Call Saul and how certain actors are clearly older than they were on Breaking Bad.
Poster is up:

The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.Okay, that's just funny.
The idea that Beetlejuice have just been sitting there in that little vestibule since 1988 (36 years by now) and waited for his turn to come up now was a nice callback to the first film.
"If there's problems, there's simple solutions."That makes sense, yes.
They should’ve stuck with Beetlejuice 2. The new title suggests a third movie titled Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, BeetlejuIT’S SHOWTIME!
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire. That makes sense, yes. I hope that’s what they go with.

The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire. My hope is that they would have the animated series be canon in order to establish that he was a friend to Lydia in the years since. If not, that's alright though. Love the poster, think it's great.
A rumor flying around is that the trailer is gonna drop tonight during the Oscars. I’ll get the draft page ready just in case. Also do we wanna rename the thread?
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.michael keaton will return?
That’s the idea. He made a big deal about the film using practical effects.
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.Michael Keaton and Catherine O'Hara just presented Makeup and Hairstyling, so there you go.
That was the advertisement.
With all the memes about women choosing a bear over a man, Hollywood might wanna get on an 'East of the Sun and West of the Moon' adaptationIt was clearly a promotion. Of course it was.
Again, if they don't have Beetlejuice be the villain like he was in the first one, I wonder who they would have in that role in that case.
Willem Dafoe's character probably.
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadWell, there was no trailer last night… but I’m keeping an eye open.
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire. That would be awesome. I mean from what I heard, the musical made Juno the villain instead. Since the actress has been gone a while now, that clearly wouldn't be possible at this point.
Batman vs the Green Goblin.
I would hope Alex Brightman gets a cameo in this film.
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.I wonder if Sophia Anne Caruso will appear since she played Lydia on Broadway myself.
Entertainment Weekly has an article with a first look of the movie: https://ew.com/beetlejuice-2-first-look-michael-keaton-winona-ryder-8611171
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.
I'm actually surprised that they had Beetlejuice trying to marry Lydia, who is pretty much a teenager, in the first movie.
I love animation, TV, movies, YOU NAME IT!
