The Setting

The setting is a Modern-ish New York, fully having embraced the weirdness of the TMNT setting, it’s filled with superheroes, aliens, mutants, robots, etc. The players themselves will be allowed to play any of the numerous examples given above.

The more general history is that nearly 6 centuries ago an alien spaceship crash landed on Earth, a race of explorers far from home, these were the Utroms. Long lived creatures of advanced sciences from across the stars, they landed in Japan.

Fashioning exo-suits they began to walk among the men of the world, awaiting the day that technology would be advanced enough for them to begin work on their return trip home. They began to work on their own sciences, including an ooze that would heal their bodies when injured, slowly infiltrating the course of history.

By the modern day, this ooze has become more common in knowledge to those in positions of power, especially for its effects upon the life of Earth, when exposed to it any earth based lifeform it will mutate in unexpected ways, especially if traces of another DNA sample are found on it. These hybrid mutants are uncommon but not entirely unknown.

In New York, mutants are common enough that Mayor Stockman has instituted new anti-mutant policies and regulated what few Mutants can be found in a ghetto, called Mutant Town. Any Mutants caught are sent there and kept under watch, under the grateful funding of Stocktech Incorporated.

The Goal
This is a sandbox RP at its core, set about exploring a community constructed setting, a sort of retelling of our own style of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Players are free to make whatever wacky OCs they want for the story and there really is no upper limit to how many OCs you make. However there are a few rules.

  • Nothing overpowered - We’re all playing a community RP and we want to have fun. Characters can be strong but they will operate under comic book rules, namely who it would be cooler for to win.
  • Canon Character Limit Per Player - You are totally free to claim a canon character to play with! However you can only claim three, and you are supposed to give your own twist to them, they can be given a heavier influence from one interpretation, but they should still ultimately be a take you came up with yourself. As we go along this rule may be subject to change as needed. (This rule was changed per comunity vote)
  • The Turtles - Due to the difficulty that involves the Turtles and Master Splinter, they’re a bit harder to cover and may ultimately be made NP Cs in the end. However if Players can coordinate among themselves and successfully set up the Turtles, that would be pretty awesome to see. And due to the closeness of the Hamato Clan, the One Canon rule is also considered loose here, so if two to three people want to do all of the Hamato Clan, I will not contest it due to the difficulty in the first place.
  • NPC-ification - If a player drops or no longer wishes to play a Canon character, I’ll take them and make them an official NPC, it will be my job after all to keep the RP running as smoothly as possible. Also a distinct possibility is if we have to cover a character for a story arc, then I will have to officially take over for one of the canon character.
  • Communicate - This is the most vital one, as this is a community sandbox RP, proper communication among the players will be necessary for setting up scenes, fights and general arcs, episodes and so on. This sandbox only keeps running with your participation.
  • Mutagen Ooze - Some ground rules on the ooze to keep characters consistent. The Ooze will always create a hybrid form, ala the Turtles, Leatherhead. It generally makes more anthropomorphic characters. It also only works with something with DNA, so nothing like merging with ice cream or with machinery.

Canon Characters On the List

Character Sheet

For a shortcut on the bolding use this one here.

  • Name: Who are they, do they have any secret identities or anything?
  • Age Range: Rather than something precise, are they an adolescent, an adult, elderly, or in the case of some, positively ancient
  • Species: Are they a mutant, a robot, a human being, an alien?
  • Character Role: What are they in the story? A Ninja, a villain, a superhero, an invader… let me know what they are.
  • Canon: Simple yes or no, if yes link to the character page they are representing please.
  • Personality: What are they like? Feel free to keep it brief and let the character be expanded outwards via RP.
  • History: A general history of who they are.
  • Talents: To keep things simple and comic book like, talents, powers, and skills are interchangeable and we’ll work from there.
  • Assets: Weapons, gadgets, Benefactors, Funds, general things they carry. What do they have?
  • Influences: A minor thing for canon based characters, feel free to add this in if you want to add any major versions as influences.
  • Other Details: Anything you feel that’s important that isn’t listed here.

An Example

  • Name: Oroku Sakai, The Shredder
  • Age Range: Adult
  • Species: Human
  • Character Role: The Big Bad, The Final Boss, the Archenemy
  • Canon: Yes, The Shredder himself
  • Personality: A calculating and cruel man, bent on the destruction of all who oppose him. Never raising his voice to a shout, he commands authority through his presence alone. Watch out for Shredder.
  • History: Oroku Saki is the leader of the Foot Clan, an international organization born out of Japan from the Sengoku period. The Shredder is the latest in a long line of inheritors of the title, hunting a mythical enemy of the Foot for a long time. Shredder desires to conquer all and rule as an emperor, having come to New York in the past few years to set up operations and slowly begin a takeover of the US.
  • Talents:
    • Master Of Arms - The Shredder is a skilled combatant in all forms of weaponry, while preferring his tiger claw gauntlets, he can easily use any melee weapon handed to him.
    • Calculative - You don’t run a successful international criminal empire bent on world conquest and not have plans within plans.
    • Tough - As with all Shredders, perhaps his most notable feature is his absurd durability, the man refuses to stay dead, no matter how many times you toss him into danger, somehow he will return. As the man would say. “Death is but an inconvenience, I am not done here.”
  • Assets:
    • Shredder Armor - His iconic suit of armor.
    • Foot Clan Criminal Empire - Where else do his foot mooks come from?
    • Custom Weapons - Swords, tiger claws, staffs, shurikens, even more modern weapons like Rocket Launchers.
  • Influences:
    • 2003 Shredder, Ch'rell - Inspired for the sheer tenacity and nigh unkillable nature, as well as the final boss style he's going for.
    • 2012 Shredder - The real name, and the human nature, the more calculative nature to balance out his cruelty, and a focus on a Criminal Empire.
  • Other Details: N/A

And that's it!

Characters will be saved to a spreadsheet here for easier access

And in a little bit we'll have a Discord up and ready! Hope to see everyone soon!

YEEEEEEEES YES YES YES YES!

I'm loath to make a sheet right now and accidentally set rules without meaning to, but if no one minds, I'd like to pre-emptively claim Leo.

Interest.

I have an OC or two in mind for this game, whether they be potential heroes or villains I haven't decided yet. Either way, consider me interested.

I'm going to be pretty busy with real life stuff for the next few days, so it may take a bit for me to get my characters up, however.

I can still hail the Horde even though the company has shamed us. Strength and Honor even if Blizzard has neither.

  • Name: Flappy the Hummingbirdnote
  • Age Range: Adult
  • Species: Mutant (Humanoid Hummingbird)
  • Character Role: Fish out of Temporal Water
  • Canon: N/A (OC)
  • Personality:
    • Flappy is a bubbly, energetic bird gal. She speaks very quickly and often paces around, not staying in one spot. She's extroverted and good at socializing.
    • Per her Flapper nature, she's free-spirited and doesn't bow down to authority, especially the authoritarian/dictatorship-like type. She'll casually rebel against the rules if she feels like it. As a result she doesn't like being stuck in Mutant Town.
    • Being from 1928, Flappy is very confused about her modern surroundings. She doesn't know what the latest technology is or how it works and thus has a hard time adapting to her current setting. That doesn't mean she isn't trying. She just struggles in her attempts to better comprehend the modern day.
  • History:
    • Flappy was once a human woman by the name of Mary Baker who lived in NYC during the 1920s. She was a Flapper, those rebellious young women who bobbed their hair, wore knee-length skirts (which was considered very short back in that era) and partied and danced. Mary was no different and often spent her time partying and drinking at speakeasies. Meanwhile, in 1928, a group of bootleggers stumbled upon crates full of ooze and they decided to put it in their moonshine they were brewing, wanting to spice it. They sent the ooze-filled moonshine to a speakeasy that Mary frequently visits. As Mary and many other regulars at the speakeasy drank the moonshine, they began mutating. Panic and chaos ensues as everyone in the speakeasy transformed into mutants. A group of Utroms who were searching for the ooze crates that the bootleggers took stumbled upon the speakeasy and found the Mutants. The Utroms took the Mutants to their lab and attempted to reverse the mutations but failed. In order to cover up the incident, the Utroms put every Mutant into cryostasis, acquired the ooze-moonshine and made everyone else believe that the speakeasy caught on fire and the people inside it died.
    • Cut to a century or so later, the cryostasis chambers began thawing and Mary was the first to be revived. Still trying to comprehend her mutated humanoid hummingbird body, Mary left the lab and found herself in a New York that was completely different from the city she remembered. She was in the modern day. As Mary explored the city, trying to adapt to her new surroundings, she got captured and sent to Mutant Town. Right away, she hated the ghetto and often attempted to escape but failed. She became an entertainer in some run down building she managed to claim, where she'll rename herself Flappy. There, she sang, danced and even served some moonshine. While she built herself a decent following, Flappy still longs to be free from Mutant Town.
  • Talents:
    • Entertainer: Flappy is a competent dancer and singer, thus is very capable of entertaining others.
    • Bootleggin': Using what she recalled what her bootlegging friends talked about back in the day, Flappy is able to make moonshine. It's safer and more enjoyable to drink for Mutants than humans.
    • Hummingbird Flexibility & Speed: Flappy is very agile, being able to dodge efficiently and move in any direction and her wings are very flexible. She's also quite nimble, possessing decent speed that is better than the average human. However, she needs to constantly eat as she spends up a good amount of energy by being active.
    • Flappy Wings: Flappy's body is too big for her to fly properly, but she can flap her wings rapidly where she can hover over the ground for a brief time and charge towards an object or person.
  • Assets:
    • Moonshine Kit: A rudimentary kit with whatever supplies Flappy could get for making moonshine.
    • Honey Belt: A belt with jars of honey strapped onto it. Flappy's main food source so she doesn't burn up too much energy.
    • Loyal Following: A group of Mutants who regularly attend her performances and often tip her whatever they have on hand. They're willing to help her out if she asks.
  • Influences: N/A as she isn't a canon character.
  • Other Details:
    • Flappy's dialogue will be in Teal
    • Her appearance is a 4'0" feet tall humanoid ruby-throated hummingbird whose wingtips serve as fingers. She wears a sleek black dress and a silver headband.
    • Her default attacking style is pecking at opponents with her beak. She's not an experienced fighter.
    • Flappy doesn't know about the Great Depression as she was frozen before it happened. Because she doesn't know of any other major world events that happened after 1928, she'll also refer to World War I as "The Great War" as it was commonly called that prior to World War II happening.

  • Name: Katarina "Kat" Kato/The Catwoman From Channel Six
  • Age Range: Young Adult
  • Species: Mutant (Humanoid Cat)
  • Appearance: Here Kitty Kitty
  • Character Role: Journalist
  • Canon: N/A (OC)
  • Personality: Katarina is playful, coy, and just a bit devious. Often relaxed and poised, she delights in teasing others, often playing tricks or games to amuse herself. That's assuming she's in the mood. Said mood can be fickle, with Katarina being incredibly driven or incredibly lazy depending on how she feels that day. However, she can also become arrogant and furious if properly pushed, even going so far as to hiss and growl until she gets her way. No matter what mood she's in, she's incredibly caustic, coming up with creative insults and snark born from her love of pop culture. She isn't sure if it's a defense mechanism or her natural personality, but it's the one part of herself she's not ashamed of.
    • That said, she's also become rather distraught over the whole cat thing. Whenever she thinks about it, she becomes sullen and kranky, lashing out at anyone in the vicinity. She's put on a mask and shaved her own fur only for it to grow back in minutes. She's bitter towards her fellow mutants and hasn't fully accepted her situation, but is desperate for anything that could return her to normal.
  • History: Katarina used to be a reporter for Channel Six News. She had a reputation for being abrasive, but she got results. She was investigating the Purple Dragons when she got wind of a back-alley shipment of mutagen. She'd heard rumors, but she'd never seen it herself. She didn't know who wanted it or would go to such lengths to get it, but she was determined to find out.
    • A week later, she managed to infiltrate the dropoff. Things were going smoothly, but curiosity got the better of her. She attempted to steal a mutagen canister for herself, but her cover was blown. She managed to escape, but the canister was shot open, covering her hands with ooze. She washed it off, but the damage was done.
    • Come the next morning, she was fully changed. She holed herself up in her apartment, but someone had seen her. The next thing she knew, she was let go from Channel Six and sent to Mutant Town. She got a job with an independent news agency in the ghetto, but her goal is to escape Mutant Town and reverse her mutation. She wants to learn who wanted the mutagen too, but her other goals are more important.
  • Talents:
    • Kitty Kat: Katarina has all the proportionate abilities of a cat. She's stronger than a human, but her real talents are her speed and incredible agility, always landing on her feet. Her claws can cut through solid steel and she can scale walls that even the most skilled rock climber could have trouble with. Her hearing and sense of smell are superhuman and her sharp yellow eyes let her see in the dark with ease. Her instincts give her a danger sense, but they can overtake her if she's not careful.
    • Reporter: Katarina is a born reporter and investigator. She has a nose for trouble and an ear for gossip and can uncover juicy scoops. She prefers a more hands-on approach, investigating leads and sneaking into buildings firsthand, but she's no stranger to social media. Her new abilities have made her job easier, but she's not inconspicuous.
    • Self Defense: Kat took some self-defense lessons early on in her career. She's not an expert, but she can hold her own.
  • Assets: Katarina has a camera, notebook, tablet and various media-editing tools. She works for an independent news agency, but they don't have a lot of resources. She can call her old buddies from Channel 6 if she's in a jam, but her situation makes them reluctant to help her.
  • Influences: N/A
  • Other Details: Katarina has a pet cat named Seline. She used to love Seline, but her role in her mutation has made things complicated.

  • Name: Octavius "Octobrawl" Raleigh
  • Age Range: Adult
  • Species: Mutant (humanoid Giant Pacific Octopus)
  • Appearance: Octobrawl is huge, standing around 7 feet tall. Much of his new height is due to his large bulbous head, with two egg-like eyes and a sharp beak for a mouth. He has slimy red skin, and two sets of muscular arms with two fingers and a thumb on each appendage. He has four legs as well, with two toes on each foot. Each limb has suckers lining the inner edge. Octobrawl wears a dark purple leotard with two sets of arm holes and leg holes each, with an opening on his back for the Purple Dragons tattoo. Octobrawl wears a modified vest over his leotard that covers the tattoo.
  • Character Role: Anti-hero
  • Canon: No, OC
  • Personality: Octobrawl is generally the type to punch first and ask questions later. He's not stupid by any sense of the word, but he does prefer to think with his fists rather than his brain. Having grown up mostly on the streets, he is generally untrusting of the law. His being stuck in Mutant Town has left him bitter, lashing out at those who wrong him. Those who manage to get on his good side, however, will find someone who doesn't back down, and doesn't let people mess with those he considers his peers.
  • History:
    • Octavius Raleigh grew up in the slums of New York. Having grown up on the streets to poor parents, his folks often found themselves on the wrong end of the law. With no one else to turn to in his life, Octavius fell in with the Purple Dragons, a vicious street gang led by the ruthless boss known only as Hun. Under Hun and the other Purple Dragons, Octavius mostly committed petty crime, which often got him and his fellow gang members in trouble.
    • However, his gang was like a new family to him, and Octavius and the Purple Dragons were thick as thieves. One day, Hun passed down a bizarre order to Octavius and his posse— infiltrate the New York Aquarium and steal a bunch of fish. Octavius knew better than to question Hun, so under cover of midnight, Octavius and his posse broke into the aquarium and stole the fish on the list, Octavius himself having been tasked with kidnapping the aquarium's giant Pacific octopus.
    • Unfortunately for, and unknown to, Octavius, Hun was under orders from the mysterious Foot Clan, who had hired the Purple Dragons to steal these fish as DNA subjects for the Foot's new weapon: a mysterious alien Ooze. Octavius and his posse were immediately mutated by the Purple Dragons using the fish they had taken from the museum. Octavius found himself mutated into a four-armed, four-legged octopus freak. Octavius, now christened Octobrawl, felt betrayed, but Hun sent the band of fish-mutants, again under orders from the Foot, to break into a laboratory and steal some equipment.
    • The job was a disaster for the Purple Dragons. One major wrench thrown into the works, a run-in with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, handily topped the thugs from managing to get away with any of the stolen equipment. After having been battered and beaten by the four turtles, Octobrawl and his recently-mutated posse were rounded up by the city and confined to Mutant Town.
    • His posse were content to give up their life of crime, but Octobrawl felt betrayed by the Purple Dragons and vowed he would get even with Hun, the man whom he had treated like a second father, only to be turned into a monster and thrown aside when they had failed.
  • Talents:
    • Octobrawl is a skilled brawler, much as his name would imply. He was always tough, having been trained extensively in hand to hand combat by the Purple Dragons. In human form he would often make use of brass knuckles to enhance his punches. His mutant form has granted him greatly enhanced strength.
    • However, his mutation mostly improved his flexibility. His limbs have the power to stretch a few meters distance and wrap themselves around people and objects. In addition, his body is unnaturally flexible and pliable for being so strong.
  • Assets: Having had most of his assets confiscated by the city when he was brought to Mutant Town, his primary asset is his former connections to the Purple Dragons, which he has mostly renounced. This has left him with primarily connections to his closest posse, the one that was transformed into fish. His friends King Crab, Moray Man, and The Stinger, having been mutated into a crab, an eel, and a stingray, have mostly retired.
  • Other Details: Not much I can think of.

I can still hail the Horde even though the company has shamed us. Strength and Honor even if Blizzard has neither.

May I?

  • Name: Art Shaver

  • Age Range: Adult

  • Species: Pistol Shrimp Mutant

  • Character Role: The Comically Serious.

  • Canon: No.

  • Personality: Art, as his character role implies, is the serious type, stoic to the point of boring others. That doesn't mean he isn't expressive, per se, as he does like doing things such as gaming or partying. He just has trouble changing his tone. Despite having some weird morals, he believes in honor among thieves, and can work with most people. Ultimately, however, he wants to live a quiet life, with the support of those close to him.

  • History: Art used to be an animal smuggler, traveling through different countries and capturing animals, selling them to the highest bidder. He was quite good at his job, but it all changed when he was double-booked and forced to handle a shipment of mutagen and a shipment of pistol shrimp. While in a typhoon. Some shrimp ended up on his arm, and mutagen splashed on him, turning the guy's arm into the pistol shrimp's claw, and his head into that of a shrimp. Horrified by his transformation, he considered it karma, and left the life of a smuggler behind, wrapping his head and arm in bandages and saying it's a medical condition that makes his head and arm disproportionately bigger than his body. Now he works at a grocery store.

  • Talents: Art, as a smuggler, is versed in basic combat abilities, has good marksmanship, and is sneaky. His powers come from his shrimp mutation, which gives him semi-amphibious breathing, allowing him to breathe underwater for up to an hour, but his showstopper is white claw half his body length. With it, it allows him to let in air or water into a chamber in the claw's crook, and when it clamps down, the pressure from the top claw's plunger forces it out of the chamber, at a speed that creates hot bubbles that act as gunshots, and snap quite loud. With his size, Art's claw shoots sniper-strength (or higher) bubbles with the speed of a semi-automatic.

  • Assets: Though Art still has some friends from his old smuggling ring, he doesn't normally get into contact with them any more. He also has no need for weapons, so he mostly just keeps general items like his wallet, snacks, etc.

So just to clear up, I don't see any major issues with the character, beyond the mutation. Art was hit with the mutagen, so his arm wouldn't be the only thing that changed, all of him would have been heavily altered into a large shrimp man.

The franchise has plant mutants and Triceratons as a thing. If you could feasibly come up with some way for Dinos (such as fossilized amber and giant mosquitos) I wouldn't be opposed.

Secondary Character

  • Name: April O'Neil
  • Age Range: Adult
  • Species: Human
  • Character Role: Intrepid Reporter
  • Canon: Yep
  • Personality:
    • April is an out-going, upbeat woman full of wit. She's passionate about her work and likes spreading knowledge about what's going on within NYC. As a result, she doesn't like it when news stations lie for whatever reason and will go out of the way to report the truth. She's willing to get herself in dangerous situations to find the truth but that doesn't mean she's reckless. She'll make sure to prepare in advance and have emergency plans in mind.
    • She's headstrong to the point she often bickers with her boss, Burne Thompson, who often shuts her down and assigns her pointless assignments. April is not fond of people hiding crucial information from the public and she will expose them if she's investigating them.
  • History:
    • April O'Neil is a native New Yorker who has been working as a reporter for Channel 6 for a few years. Much to her dismay, Burne Thompson often assigns her mundane assignments that anyone could have reported on. Thus, she tends to do a good amount of her reporting through her blog, Clear Skies, but every now and then, she's allowed by Thompson to report on major events within the city. She has reported on Stockman's inauguration, high-note crimes, and even Mutant Town when it was first set up. By then, Mutants were public knowledge and April wasn't intimidated by them. When she reported on Mutant Town, she caught a brief glimpse of the Town's Ghetto nature and how miserable Mutants are there. The suspicious similarities to the long-since overturned Jim Crow Laws that enforced racial segregation in the American South decades ago weren't unnoticed by April. With it, the innate flaws of Mutant Town were made clear to her and she begins believing that Stockman is bigoted towards Mutants.
    • While making preparations to enter Mutant Town, a collegue of hers, Katarina Kato, suddenly got fired and disappeared. April recalled that Katarina investigated the Purple Dragons and the former learned that the gang was involved in Mutagen thief, she suspected that the collegue got mutated and sent to Mutant Town. April attempted to ask Thompson about where Katarina left to confirm her hypothesis but he refused to answer, telling her to "do your job and mind your business". April found that an amusing oxymoron considering what her job was. She continued her preparations and got an anonymous tip from a follower of her blog where they asked if she could investigate a group of ninja turtle Mutant vigilantes and had given her a blurry picture of them in action. April had heard rumors about that particular group and was considering investigating them for some time, so she was pleased to recieve evidence of their existence.
    • Now, April snuck into Mutant Town, hoping to pursue her main three goals; explore the underbelly of Mutant Town to expose it, find out what happened to Katarina, and track down who those so called "Teenage Mutang Ninja Turtles".
  • Talents:
    • Reporter's Intuition: April is a passionate reporter, always seeking out the truth. As a result, she is highly skilled in doing research and interviewing people. She can quickly write down what she learns/hears in notebooks and is good at analyzing the info she gathers. When people lie, chances are, April would catch onto it or at least suspect that they might be being untruthful. It's not a superhuman ability and it's possible for April to fall for especially convincing lies, but she's better at catching lies than the average layman.
    • Quick Thinking: April is able to think quickly on her feet and come up with plans for whatever situation she's in. Thus, she's quite flexible.
    • Tech Savyness: As she often works with technology for her job and investigations, April is very tech savvy, knowing a good amount about the workings of tech and is a capable video editor; perhaps not to the same level as professional IT techinations and hackers, but it's certainly noticeable. She's also decent at figuring out people's passwords to get into their devices.
    • Muay Thai: April has taken some Muay Thai lessons and thus capable of defending herself with this martial art. With Muay Thai, she's able to fight effectively in close-quarters combat, using elbows, knees, fists and feet to fight.
  • Assets:
    • Canon EOS R6: April's trusty camera. She carries it to take pictures of what she's investigating.
    • Laptop and Phone: What April uses to find information. Sometimes records the info she finds down on Google Docs in those devices.
    • Notebooks and Pens: She records the info she gathers in notebooks with pens.
    • Backpack: Carries most of her gear.
    • Glock 19: A gun that April keeps in a hidden holster. She only takes it to dangerous situations she knows she'll be entering and it's her main defense alongside Muay Thai. She also carries additional amno with her in case she needs to reload.
    • Medkit: Contains the medical supplies that you expect to come from a basic meditation. Also only taken to dangerous situations so April would at least something to treat any injuries she receives.
    • Bulletproof Vest: Worn under her jumpsuit. Also only taken under the same circumstances as the gun and medkit.
    • Channel 6 Colleagues: April is able to contact her colleagues from Channel 6 for help although she prefers to do the investigative work by herself for the most part.
    • Followers of Clear Skies: April's blog is niche but has a decent following. Her followers are able to send April anonymous tips relating to what she's investigating through the blog (think of those Tumblr asks but probably a little more detailed).
  • Influences:
    • 1987!April: The Channel 6 news reporter occupation, passion for said occupation, the hair color and part of the outfit (mainly the yellow jumpsuit) is taken from her.
    • Rise of the TMNT!April: A good chunk of the personality and appearance is taken from her. As a reference to Rise!April being black, this RP's take on April is biracial.
  • Other Details:
    • April's text color is yellow.
    • She will stop believing that Stockman is bigoted towards Mutants once she learns why he set up Mutant Town.
    • Her exact ethnicity is that she's half white and half black.
    • She's 5'4" feet tall, puts her curly, auburn-dyed hair in a bun, has sepia brown skin, her eyes are a deep brown, wears a juniper vest over a yellow jumpsuit and boots that are the same color as said vest. Her jumpsuit, unlike the 1987 one, doesn't show off cleavage.

I think I'm ready to post my canon character signup.

  • Name: Donatello
  • Age Range: Teenager
  • Species: Mutant turtle
  • Character Role: Hero in a Half-Shell
  • Canon: Yes
  • Personality: Donatello is easily one of the smartest and most pleasant of the Ninja Turtles. He shows interest in technology and science and feels in his element when he has science to do. If not kept in check, he is liable to go into excited technobabble as he explains his latest creation to his brothers and his companions. Relatively gentle and sweet, he often prefers not to fight, being the least martially-oriented of the four Turtles, but when push comes to shove, he stays level-headed and can throw down with the rest of them.
  • History:
    • Once a mild mannered baby pet turtle, he and his three brothers were dropped into the sewers and found by their master, a mutated human turned rat who called himself Splinter. The old sensei had been living in the sewers, hiding from the dangerous Foot Clan. He had been searching for a way to cure his mutation and get his revenge on the Shredder, the Foot's mysterious leader who had caused his transformation years ago.
    • Splinter found the four turtles and took them in as his pets. Out of respect for the Renaissance masters, he named his pets Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo. One day, an opportunity came for the old master— a way to strike back at the Foot. He had come into contact with the Utroms, an alien race hiding in secret on Earth, with extreme genetic knowledge.
    • Though they did not know how to cure Splinter's mutation, they could help him stop the Foot— using their own stockpiles of Ooze, the Utroms used human DNA to transform Splinter's baby turtle pets into humanoid Ninja Turtles. Splinter took the turtles in as his children, and began to train them in ninjutsu, preparing them for the day they would be strong and skilled enough to strike against the Foot.
  • Talents:
    • To put it simply, and to repeat an old chestnut: Donatello does machines. He is a technology wizard, with the ability to examine and put together marvels of engineering that rival any of the scientists on the surface.
    • That's not to say that machines are his only talent— he is a prodigy with a bo staff, his signature weapon. Being trained in ninjutsu with his brothers by his master Splinter, he has surprising agility and strength, speed and stealth. Being taller and thinner than most of his brothers, he has an advantage when it comes to dodging attacks.
  • Assets:
    • Donatello's signature weapon is his bo staff— a roughly 6 foot long wooden staff with purple wrapping around the center. In addition to his signature weapon, he also carries around shuriken, which he can use to throw in order to injure, incapacitate, or disorientate opponents.
    • Donatello never goes anywhere without his specially-made laptop computer, which folds up and vaguely resembles his shell. He can access the Internet, as well as hack into machines via Wi-Fi or by plugging into them. It also has a few video games on it, and the ability to perform video calls. He also carries some tools, like a wrench and a screwdriver, both for fixing machines on the fly and for sabotaging machines.
    • Donatello's biggest asset, though, is the support of his three brothers, as well as his master and father figure, Splinter. They fight as a team and live as a family, and Donnie couldn't ask for more.
  • Influences: 2003 series, with some influences from the 1987 series
  • Other Details:
    • Donatello's text color is purple.

I can still hail the Horde even though the company has shamed us. Strength and Honor even if Blizzard has neither.

  • Name: Leonardo, or simply Leo
  • Age Range: Adolescent
  • Species: Mutant turtle
  • Character Role: Hero in a Half-Shell, The Leader in blue, the one always in control. Or, at least, he wants to be.
  • Canon: Last I checked, yes.
  • Personality: Leo's a lot more...excited, than the norm. I mean, he's going to be a ninja! How cool is that? He's eager and gung-ho and much more confident than you'd think, but also headstrong and not particularly willing to listen to others—he's leader, shouldn't they be listening to him? He tends to get impatient when people don't follow his orders, can be unintentionally condescending to his "subordinates", and has a hard time admitting when he's made a mistake. All told, while well-intentioned, Leo doesn't realize how leadership comes with as much responsibilities as it does privileges, and how declaring yourself the leader means nothing if those you lead aren't willing to follow you. (Never fear, he'll learn as soon as the character development/soul-crushing trauma kicks in.)
  • History:
    • Once upon a time, Leonardo was a very ordinary baby turtle. Then, he and three other turtles dropped into the sewers and were found by Splinter, a former human who got mutated into a rat. (Leo has asked before how this happened, but has yet to get a complete answer outside of "the Shredder was responsible".) The four were taken in and named after the four great Renaissance artists, and then nicknamed because their full names were too long.
    • Sometime after that whole situation, Splinter met the Utroms, an alien race who had created the very ooze that had mutated him. They couldn't cure the mutation, but they could offer a way to fight back against the Foot. They took some human DNA, the mutagen, and combined it with the turtles to create humanoid turtles. Splinter adopted them as his sons, trained them in ninjutsu, you all know how the story goes.
    • Growing up, Leo had always felt...restless, living in the sewers. They weren't meant to stay down here training. They were meant to be out there! Fighting villains, helping people, anything more than an ordinary life. And then, about a year ago, Splinter gave them the go-ahead to be out there!
      • (He also made Leo the leader, for reasons only Splinter will understand but Leo sure as heck isn't questioning.)
    • And that, everyone, is where we find ourselves today. The turtles have clashed with quite a few enemies—the Purple Dragons, mostly, but also Baxter Stockman (which might've influenced the whole mutant ghetto oops) and a few other mutants off their rocker. They've won pretty much everything important, and Leo's riding the high of unstoppability. Sure, Splinter's still worried about whoever this Shredder guy is, but it's not like anything here could actually challenge them, right?
  • Talents:
    • Well, as the theme song goes: Leonardo leads. You may not know it from the Personality section, but Leo does genuinely have the makings of a good leader. He's good at assessing a situation, making a plan (a disturbing amount of these plans are made up as he goes), figuring out who's best at what task, and takes risks most would never dream of. Unfortunately, the guy is so wrapped up in being leader that none of that matters much, as he's bad at the one skill all leaders need—making people want to follow your orders. (He'll learn eventually. Hopefully.)
    • Fortunately for everyone, leading is not his only skill. He's also trained in ninjutsu, with the strength, stealth, and agility to match. Also a prodigy wielder of swords, especially his much beloved katanas.
    • The mutagen itself might not have given the turtles the kind of abilities it gave others, but it did grant enhanced strength, speed, durability, and healing.
  • Assets:
    • Dual katanas, of course! Can't exactly be Leonardo without them. (The swords were a gift from Splinter. Leo does not know where he got them and frankly, he's a bit afraid to ask.)
  • Influences:
    • Rise Leo, primarily in the sense of taking the core of the character and building them up in an entirely different way (in this case, changing Leo from a levelheaded leader to a headstrong leader and seeing what results from that). Also the ego and irresponsibility :P
  • Other Details:
    • Has a weird amount of knowledge on various eclectic interests, like Renaissance artists, musical theatre, and classical literature.
    • Swears in ice cream flavors for no reason other than I think it would be funny. (Who says Leonardo has to be boring?)
    • Quite short. A bit self-conscious about that.
    • ...oh yeah, and his text color is blue. Provided I can remember it.

  • Name: Diana

  • Age Range: Young adult.

  • Species: Mutant axolotl.

  • Character Role: Sometimes a villan depends who is paying.

  • Canon: No

  • Personality: Diana is a stubborn and reckless woman who likes the thrill of battle and styling on those soon to be shot usually by old guns, she likes a good challenge as much as she does bantering heck if its fun enough she might not even ask for payment but thats rare since most of her money is used to finance her dad clandestine experiments. Her dad is one of the only people she shows respect.

Out of the job she usually hangs out at bars and the like, always up for a game of cards or similar games, she does love to gamble.

  • History:
    • Before her mutation Diana was a normal axolotl she dint do much just eating and swimming in a tank with her peers under the care of professor Hoid.

    • Hoid doesn't care about ethics when it came to experimenting in his opinion things like that just slow progress for the betterment of humanity and his current project at that time is using the axolotl regenerative properties in humans but the two were not genetically compatible he had to a find a way to change the axolotl genome to be more similar to humans, thats where he found the solution. The ooze.

    • Hoid was aware of the ooze mutagenic properties and he planned to use it on one of his axolotls with varying levels of success but one showed the most compatibility and that one was a juvenile Diana

    • Hoid was overjoyed at Diana genomic compatibility but there was a problem she was just a child and if someone found out what he had done it would put him on hot water and considering the shady means he used to acquire his lab equipment, it would put him behind bars for sure. So his solution was to keep Diana from the outside world most of her interactions with other people where from shady people and other hooligans at that impressionable age she thought they were the coolest guys ever, Hoid dint really care at the time for he only saw her as a product of his genius rather than another person.

    • Time passed Hoid interacted with Diana in a highly scientific manner with barely any love shown, despite this, the interactions and mannerism the little mutant had with him broke down his cold heart, as time passed Hoid stopped seeing Diana as an experiment but as his own child.

    • That dint mean he was a good father most of the time Diana was left to her own devices acquiring things and seeing things someone her age shoulnt like guns and crime in general, at least she got a good academic education thanks to Hoid but she did not had any interest in the sciences, what she liked was using pistols and looking badass while doing so.

    • As she grew older, she interacted more with the outside world with a sneaky disguise (The biggest trenchcoat available a hat with convenient shade and sunglases) She learned pretty quickly to get around on the streets eventually getting her first gun, a colt revolver, which she used to "help" her dad with anyone who knew a little too much or anyone who offered a bad deal taking a bit too much fun in the act.

    • Eventually money problems started to arise and as such she had to expand her contractors list, taking any job for anyone who needed a gunman as long as the pay is good.

  • Talents:
    • Marksmanship: Diana is an expert at using any gun, while she prefers pistols, revolvers and the like she is quite good with any other weapon, her aim and reflexes are honed from years of target practice and has a vast knowledge of anything that does pow-pow

    • Axolotl: Diana as an axolotl can breathe underwater and has a high healing factor only amplified by her mutation in a matter of minutes she can close bullet wounds and similar, in a mere hour she can regrow back missing limbs and organs like most of her brain heart and the like its very hard to put her down for good. While she may not have gained much muscle in her limbs she has a lot of strength in her long tail. One tail slam packs quite the punch if someone gets too close.

    • Genomic compability: Diana is an universal donator any severed limbs or organs can be transplanted without much issue and will be alway be compatible with anyone, although the cells change their dna to imitate the cells of the host so they lose the incredible regenerative abilities of Diana but its better than nothing.

    • Nimble: She is quick with her hands as she is quick with her body, acrobatics are not a issue for her and despite not liking sneaking jobs that much she is pretty good at hiding, she can also steal stuff fairly easily to those unaware.

  • Assets:
    • Weapons: Its frankly ridiculous the amount of pistols she carries around in her trench coat and how well she can hide them, granted most of her pistols are really old ones or ineffective now by modern standards such as flintlocks and dueling pistols her more modern guns are a mare's leg and a smg she doesn't use this last two that much because it makes stuff too easy.

    • Tools: These include a lighter, a pair of pliers and lockpicks.

    • Contacts: While she knows about the shady deals of her dad and she is quite known in the criminal world she barely calls them for help, generally she is the one thats called, they may come to help her when she is in a pickle or not. She doesnt bother getting to know each thug or contractor other than business, smalltalk, etc.

    • Misc: she carries around a phone and quite a bit of fake ids she also carries some chocolate bars.

  • Other Details:
    • She sleeps on a bathtub full of water.

    • She secretly likes magic shows.

  • Name: Cassandra Jones, also known as the Nightingale
  • Age Range: Young Adult
  • Species: Human
  • Character Role: The Good-Natured Rogue (Who Is Adamantly Not A Ninja)
  • Canon: Despite sharing a name with one, not a canon
  • Personality: A font of cocky confidence and charming foolhardy as the Nightingale, supported with a keen wit and a (clearly fake) cockney accent. As Cassandra Jones, she's far more subdued and plays to her role as 'a good daughter' because it seems like the safer option to protect her secret identity and her family.
  • History: Publically, Cassandra Jones is the well-behaved daughter of a mid-tier New York real estate magnate, in her childhood often seen at his side as he addressed the press or the public. But secretly? Cassandra Jones is the daring roguish vigilante known as the Nightingale, using talents of stealth and thievery to pull off thrilling heists and more recently sneak supplies into the ghetto that is clearly a piece of policy only barely removed from simply declaring mutants no longer legally people.
  • Talents:
    • Self-Taught Sneakthief: Through a regime of personal fitness and many nights of practice, Cassandra has taught herself how to be as sneaky as she can be. Oh sure it's a pale imitation of any kind of formal training but she takes pride in having learned it all on her own initiative.
    • Knife Fighting: Another self-taught skill, but at least one she has others willing to give feedback on. She tends to practice at this one gym just on the edge of the bad part of town that is pretty relaxed about some girl who pays dues to come and use a pair of drumsticks to beat up a sandbag for a few hours. It's entirely possible the gym is a Foot Clan front but if so they have yet to try and recruit her either because she's obviously someone who'd make the Clan more suspicious or she seems far too harmless to be worth the effort.
  • Assets:
    • Stabbers: A pair of very sharp knives... That she ordered off Etsy and sharpened up herself. They're a little big for her and clearly designed more for the aesthetics of being fantasy bird-themed knives than for actual combat capability.
    • Her Father's Daughter: As much as she tries to keep her lives separate, she is still the daughter of a fairly rich and influential man and could lean on that if it became necessary.
  • Other Details:

It's clearly a case of backroom political albumizing.
