Being used as a sled by Morgan Stark.
Though the idea of this show putting Fury's back against the wall in a way not even HYDRA could is definitely going to be an interesting focal point for this show.
Trust no one.SHIELD doesn't exist anymore. Fury seems to have some vaguely defined spy network set up (As seen in FFH), and has connections to the SABER space station (Also FFH and The Marvels.
You and I remember Budapest very differentlyWonder how many more weapon acronym names they can come up with for their agencies.
Wake me up at your own risk. Can they use HAMMER, or would they have to pay Justin Hammer royalties?
There's also ARMOR, STAKE, WAND, and SPEAR from the comics. Marvel really loves to theme their government agencies.
You and I remember Budapest very differentlyNorman Osborne of all people once hung a hilarious lampshade on it in the comics by giving his organisation an acronymic title (H.A.M.M.E.R I think) and only afterwards did he then deputise someone to work out what that would actually stand for.
"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."Y'know, I do how to wonder how closely connected this show is going to be to The Marvels, if it connects to it at all.
It's just so bizarre to see Fury go from changing up his appearance and fighting the Skrulls on Earth to going back up into space while looking how he normally does.
Trust no one.And they never even revealed what HAMMER meant anyways.
Honestly it seems they have no idea what to do with Fury now that SHIELD is gone. He just kind of gets plugged into whatever role is needed for the movie.
You and I remember Budapest very differentlyWhen there's nothing to S.H.I.E.L.D the Fury, it emerges in the most unexpected of places...
Trust no one.I'm wondering if Fury might die. The trailer, I think, has a very "retired veteran's last hurrah" feel to it, Jackson's pretty old now, and Hollywood is less shy about killing off "iconic" characters these days when their actors want to stop, as happened to Iron Man, Captain America, Han Solo, James Bond...
He still has to be in The Marvels, so he probably won't die here.
Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonCaptain America didn't die. Not onscreen, at least.
Yeah, but everyone treats him like he's dead.
Or on the moon.
Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonI thought Far From Home confirmed he died (of old age, I'd assume)?
I think the public just thinks he died. It's clear from TFATWS that nobody but Sam and Bucky actually knows what happened (see again, the moon thing).
Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonFar From Home... You mean the cheesy school video honoring "Our fallen heroes?"
That's assuming that The Marvels isn't a prequel to Secret Invasion...
Trust no one.To be frank, after Far From Home, we can't be 100% sure that the Fury in The Marvels (2023) is actually Fury.

One Strip! One Strip! They did that once as a fake out, I doubt they would do it again.
You and I remember Budapest very differentlyHasn't Jackson said he plans on playing the character as long as he can?
Yes, he recently gave an interview where he talked about he still really enjoys playing Fury and wants to do keep doing so.
I remember he once said that he likes Nick Fury so much because he's a dude without superpowers in charge of people with superpowers, and they let him do so. Which, yeah, that is a pretty cool character to be.
Trust no one.I wonder if they're going to do a God Squad at some point. And if so, whom shall be on the roster? The only member established thus far is Hercules. And I guess technically Atum/Demogorge by inference. :hmm
You fell victim to one of the classic blunders!I'm really hoping we get Teddy Altman aka Hulkling in this show.

Fury seems to be really out of shape here. How's he going to fight this war alone.
And where is SHIELD now?
Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).
