I think 2099 probably inspired the fact his noir incarnation is like that.

With how serious Miguel is here, I'm amused how (hero antagonism aside) he's prolly a good indication of how a non-parody Noir would be like.

It's funny how incredibly gruesome some universes of Spider-Man are. It's one thing to have a dead Uncle Ben, but Noir had his devoured by crazy carnie Vulture and had to deal with other horrific shit like Kraven getting eaten by a mass of spiders and a nazi-fanboy Doc Ock.

Nazi fanboy Doc Ock lobotomized Noir Robbie.

Like that should tell you how much fucked up shit goes on there.

There's also the fact that Aunt May and Peter are technically socialists. In the 30s. Yeah.....

An interesting thing is that the alternate Vulture seems to come from a universe set in the Renaissance. Not only is he sepia-toned rather than black and white like Spider-Man Noir, but we can also see Miguel destroying small machines that resemble Leonardo da Vinci's helicopter project in one clip. He also talks with Gwen in Italian, so there might be a connection with Renaissance Italy. The only Marvel universe close to that time period I can think of is Marvel 1602, but by the early 17th century, the peak of the Renaissance had already ended, so he might be from an original universe alltogether.

Maybe he's from the steampunk Spider-Woman universe. Not sure if her universe has a Vulture.

Renessiance Vulture makes it almost a shame the main conflict is a spider civil war. Cause I would love to see all the crazy designs they can go for the villains.

I'm just hoping we get another cool Green Goblin who is Big Bad material instead of a glorified grunt.

Outside of ITSV, when has the Green Goblin been a grunt?

The Ultimate Green Goblin was reduced to a dragon in the other Spider-Men crossover IIRC.

Alright reception looks good. Someone mentioned the film ends on a cliff hanger but not what in the box office subfrddit.

I think we could see around double the films original box office which on a 100 million dollar film is pretty Good. (it probably won't make 800 million or anything like that but pretty good all around)

I mean, it is part one, so the next part should come soon, hopefully.

Nine months. It's out next March. The films were created Together to avoid a long period of time between them.

A question - What's the general opinion on the idea that the Spot is an alternate version of Peter?

No spoilers. Just something that crossed my mind. Partly it's the general multiversal set-up coupled with the discussion shown in the trails about the Strangled by the Red String destined relationship between Gwen and Peter Spider-Man, which always ends in Gwen's death.

I'm also thinking of the casting aspect. The voice actors for Peter/Ben Reilly are actors who are associated with Nice Jewish Boy and/or Jewish and Nerdy (respectively Jake Johnson and Andy Samberg). And Jason Schwartzman, who is the Spot, is in that same niche. And from the brief glimpses in the trailers and teasers has a similar easygoing humor as Peter.

Lastly, I know this one kind of sounds stupid since that's the Spot's body, not a costume, but I was struck by the visual similarity between Gwen's costume and how the Spot looks.

Tl; dr -

Edit - I know that in Gwen's reality, Peter was the Lizard and died, so I'm not speculating that the Spot is "her" Peter. But that is precedent for "alternate realities where Peter is a Spider-Man villain".

I’ve since been spoiled about the Spot. It’s a lot less complicated than my theory.

Early showings in a few theaters. Nowhere near me, unfortunately, have to wait till Friday .

Yeah its out this week.
