City of Lost Characters Season 2: New Game+ [Crossover Game Signups]

SIGNUPS ARE CLOSED: Those of you who expressed interest while they were open will have your sheets considered when you post them, but no more will be accepted.

In the void between worlds, two beings scanned a set of notes.

> While there were flaws in the execution, the idea of populating a specially-made space for use as an idea generator is a sound one. I believe we can iterate on the design, don't you?

One of the beings, resembling a collection of monitors, server racks, and other assorted parts, responded to the text box that appeared in his vision. What sort of changes do you have in mind? For every syllable, the display of one of the monitors fluctuated a bit, like the world's most unintuitive waveform. Particularly toward the end, people were growing deeply dissatisfied, even beyond the expected stress of being kidnapped from their worlds. I assume you would prefer to avoid something so tedious again.

> [Affirmative] Naturally. And there will, of course, be differences in style.

A scrawl of text like the output of a command line program appeared to the left of the second being, whose presence was indicated only by the floating words exchanged with its assistant. The text first appeared as a strange language that would be incomprehensible to a being not on their level, but after a few moments morphed rapidly between what might have been a very long series of bits, a low-level programming language, a high-level programming language, and plain text in that order. In the space between realities appears a deserted world. A city with no residents, though it had the room and resources for many.

> You will be there as well, as you might expect.

That should be no problem, if it is simply a matter of engaging with organics. In fact, broadly speaking, I find it rather enjoyable.

The scrawling text grew in length, each new segment undergoing the same transformation as the last. 51.2 square kilometers of urban flux, none of which remained in the same place from moment to moment. Though for now the sourceless wind whistled through empty streets, in a few moments that would not be the case. For 25 days, they would be alive with voices from across the realities. The lost ones, dragged into a new game+.

Merry Day After Christmas, Tvtropes! City of Lost Characters has returned in accordance with the words of Nostradamus. I'm Ocean, and with the blessing of the past GM I am now helming Season 2: New Game Plus!

This is, like its predecessor, an MMFRPG-style crossover game starring a hodgepodge of characters thrust from their home dimensions to a strange city in the space between worlds. Every day some new effect takes hold, altering the city or perhaps its residents for its duration. Shall they make friends amongst themselves and the other unfortunate saps stuck with them, or just snap from the stress? Who's to say?

(Hint: it's you. You are to say.)

Knowledge of COLC1, while nifty, is not required, so don't worry if you missed that train.

> Peruse Rules and Recommendations
  • Remember the RP rules and forum rules.
  • One character per player, to start with, and no OCs of your own creation. This may change as time passes.
    • They must be a character, ie. not a random encounter, red shirt, etc.
    • "Duo characters" count as one for this purpose. For clarity's sake, these are defined as a pair, trio, etc. who are strongly characterized by adventuring together more often than not.
    • Characters returning from Season 1 should be marked as such in their sheet.
  • Death Is Cheap here. Should your character meet a premature end, you're free to plop them in a tavern bedroom elsewhere in the city (sans what items they may have picked up), physically unharmed if perhaps a bit jarred. Unless you get bored of them, I guess, in which case they just go home or something and your new character shows up instead.
  • Speaking of new characters, for the sake of others' sanities character switches are limited to one per day. After all, it defeats the point if you're burning through characters so fast they become impossible to engage with.
  • Avoid Story Breaker Powers or abilities that'd be unmanageable in a roleplaying format (eg. time travel, powers with guaranteed autohits). I won't make a formalized list, but if a character you want to play has such a power you'll be expected to nerf or remove it.
  • Post headers aren't required, but are helpful in case someone needs to find something fast.
  • Expected post length is about a paragraph or two, but this is not a hard rule and you can go longer or shorter to achieve a certain effect. Just please for the love of god don't exclusively post either 3 words or 25k.
  • If you can't post for an extended amount of time, please try and tell someone so we know to work around it rather than sit there waiting.
  • There's a 95% chance I don't recognize your character from their original canon, so I assume you know your character better than I do; that said, while you probably won't get kicked if I find you are doing a massive derail, do expect it to be pointed out.
  • Expect spoilers for any series with an active character here, as well as other works that have previously made an appearance.

  • Name: Tron Bonne
  • Source: Mega Man Legends series
  • Age/Gender/Species: 16/Female/Carbon
  • Appearance: Tron and the Gustaff
  • Personality:
    • Tron is the brains of the Bonne family, and proud of it. She's loyal to her family and violently protective of her "kids", the Servbots, and gladly assists her older brother Teisel in robbing innocents and searching for riches. That said they aren't monsters Tron makes every effort to avoid (seriously) hurting anyone in their raids, even when coming to blows with the police, they make sure to leave just enough for their victims to get by, and when in disguise or it doesn't infringe on her own pursuits she doesn't mind helping people, sometimes.
    • Despite coming to blows many times, Tron has actually developed a bit of a crush on their rival, Megaman Volnutt. Though she's loathe to admit it until after she's settled the score for all the times he's destroyed her machines and kicked her Servbots around (though the Servbots themselves don't seem to hold a grudge, both sides were just doing their jobs after all).
  • Backstory:
    • Middle child of the Bonne Trio, a family of notorious pirates flying from island to island plundering and robbing as they please with their fleet of airships and small army of robotic servants. Their most recent target was the treasure supposedly hidden under the sleepy Kattleox island.
    • Around the same time a blue boy scout of a digger named Megaman Volnutt arrived on the island, rescued Tron from a vicious dog, and then stood up to the Bonne forces while they were were running roughshod over the local police force. Despite sending their biggest mechs against Volnutt and attempting to dig their way around the locks to the ruins holding the treasure the Bonnes were unable to get ahead of Megaman, but eventually it became clear that the "treasure" of Kattleox would actually sterilize the island and the Bonnes gladly joined forces with their new rival, if nothing else to prevent themselves from becoming victims of the vicious Reaverbots and underground weapons as well. Megaman was successful in preventing the destruction of the island, and in the chaos the Bonnes were able to retrieve a massive refractor crystal from the ruins and escape scott-free on a patched up flier.
  • Skills/Abilities:
    • Master mechanic: Planes? Trains? Talking robots? Spider tanks and flying motherships? Yup, give her enough time and parts and she can build and maintain just about anything, Tron is the mastermind behind all the Bonne family's mechs and fleet of airships after all! She also fabricates the more complicated and customized tools used in her garage and could probably build shuttle to the moon if she wasn't hampered by budget and creative differences with a certain _other_ mechanic...
    • Skilled pilot: Tron is also a very capable pilot in all types of vehicles, able to push her creations to the very limits of their physical capabilities and take on the police and military without fear.
  • Items:
    • Gustaff: Tron's personal mech, a sturdy bipedal tank with a single energy based arm cannon made to carry Tron and a single Servbot copilot (though perfectly functional solo). The Gustaff is powered by a single large Refractor crystal, tough enough to take minimal damage from small-arms fire, can lift and throw police cars with relative ease, and also launch a harmless Beacon Bomb that emits signals to order Tron's Servbots around... Not that any of them came with her.
  • Misc:
    • Tron comes from not long after MM Legends 2.
    • Practically speaking, Carbons are a race of artificial humans with little difference to their natural precursors beyond DNA markings, and perhaps a higher compatibility with cybernetics.
    • Outside of piloting the Gustaff or another vehicle and without the Servbots to boss around, Tron's combat capabilities are very low. Like, standard female anime bystander low. She is also scared of dogs.

~This: A little hard to follow, but I think I get the gist. Looks fine.

~Sushi Kraken 6414: so they're enemies to lovers? ...Yeah y'know what, I'll buy that as a duo. A minor note: there's no loss of consciousness when you're pulled to the City, except I guess if you were losing consciousness anyway. Not a big enough deal to put your sheet on hold over, just thought you should know.

Robo-Ky, Galo and Lio, and Tron are accepted. While we're here, we now have a discussion thread (even if in practice we'll mostly just use the Discord lol), and the rp starts at 5 PST (in about an hour and a half).

  • Name: Lunafreya Nox Fleuret
  • Source: Final Fantasy XV
  • Age/Gender/Species: 24/Female/Human
  • Appearance:The Oracle of Tenebrae and her loyal Messengers, Pryna and Umbra.
  • Personality: Compassionate and duty-bound, Luna will always put the wellbeing of others before her own. She is willing to risk everything she has if it means completing her duty, and is generally polite and soft-spoken. However, preventing her from completing her role will reveal a core of steel, and a determination that is impossible to shatter. She was raised with the knowledge that she will die completing her part in the prophecy that will save the world, and so thinks very little of threats to her life, and will risk it because she feels it's the right thing to do. She can occasionally be blunt and sarcastic, even teasing, but this is rare, and it takes time for her to open up to someone. Despite how she may appear, she's an acute politician, acting for the good of her people. She doesn't want to die, but she's prepared to.
  • Backstory:
    • Born to Sylva Via Fleuret, Lunafreya was raised as the next Oracle, a figure of religious importance. Capable of healing the Starscourge (a plague that wreaked havoc upon the land), she was raised and trained to be the next Oracle, and the next Queen of Tenebrae, for when her mother passed. She had an older brother, Ravus, but Tenebrae was a matriarchal society.
    • Her world was at war. Niflheim was an expansionist empire, determined to conquer the Star itself. They sent a daemon, a dangerous monster, to attack the heir of Lucis, Noctis Lucis Caelum, one of Tenebrae's allies. His injuries could only be cured by the Oracle, and so he and his father came to Tenebrae, where Sylva worked to heal Noctis.
    • He was to be the Chosen King, who would cleanse the Starscourge, once and for all, and Luna his Oracle, to assist him in his quest. She would wake the Hexathon, the Six Astrals, gods of their Star, and help him forge the covenants that he would need. She befriended him, then, and they spent days together as he regained the use of his legs.
    • Then Niflheim attacked, and Tenebrae fell. Noctis and his father, Regis, retreated back to Lucis, and Luna saw her mother killed. She became the next Oracle, the youngest in history, raised in Tenebrae under the watchful, controlling, eyes of the Empire. She lived an imprisoned life, unable to be harmed for fear of the people's outcry, but unable to leave, a prisoner in her own home.
    • Then it was announced that there would be a peace treaty between Lucis and Niflheim, and that she would marry Noctis to cement it. Even if it was temporary, it meant freedom, and a reminder of a happier time in her life. Luna travelled to Insomnia, Lucis' capital city, only for it to fall two days after. She barely escaped with her life from the wreckage, leaving behind her hope of freedom, and the corpses of those who had died to protect her.
    • It was time to complete the Prophecy. She travelled Lucis, waking the Astrals, and forging their covenants. She healed the people, renewed the havens. And, with every step she took towards completing her goal, the weaker she became. When she got to Altissia, where she would finally meet Noctis once more, she was so tired.
    • But she had a role to fulfill.
  • Skills/Abilities:Luna is capable of understanding and communing with the gods. She can heal those afflicted with disease and injury, and create safe havens, rings of power where no daemons or creatures of darkness can enter. She is capable of fighting with her trident, as her childhood included training in physical fitness. She is also capable of evoking light using the trident, creating beams of light that can push back the darkness and injure even the gods. Using her powers does exhaust her, and is slowly killing her. She also has access to an Armiger, an extradimensional space where she can store weapons and items, grabbing them when she needs.
    • Pryna and Umbra are two Messengers, divine creatures who accompany Luna on her journey. They are capable of instantaneous teleportation and are far more intelligent and durable than they appear. Pryna can grant those she chooses visions of the future (in the City, this would be GM'd controlled), and Umbra visions of the past.
  • Items: The Oracle's Trident. A powerful tool given by Bahamut to the first Oracle, the Trident allows Luna to use her powers more easily, and empowers them. It's also a sharp pointy thing.
  • Misc: Luna is actively dying as a result of her situation. This means that she'll get weaker as she goes throughout the City, and, as inevitable result of her using her powers, it's unlikely to be healed by normal means.

  • Name: Zan 'The Bonebreaker', Zan Bonebreaker
  • Source: Hedon
  • Age/Gender/Species: Unknown, much older than she looks (Looks mid-20s), Female, Half-Orc/Half-Demon
  • Appearance: Zan Bonebreaker
  • Personality: Zan is many of the things that are associated with orcs. Blunt, aggressive, forward and very intimidating when she wants to be. She's not afraid to speak her mind, or confront things that she disagrees with or feels threaten her or anything she cares about. Might makes right tends to paint how she sees the world, though her honour is just as important to her, and anyone or anything that she cares for or is close to her she will defend fiercely till the end. Hedonistic to a degree, she's not one to shy away from a wild celebration and or copious amounts of eating and drinking.
  • Backstory: Little is known about Zan's past, or what led to her nature as a Demonblood. However, she was taken in by the Iron Division, a secretive clan of amazonian orcs and goblins who were blessed from the Fountain of Life. Its magical waters granting great strength, beauty and life free from aging. Branded as outcasts and traitors by their own kind, and hunted by humans for their raiding, they hid themselves away within an eerie forest and then deep caverns underground.

Here Zan was raised as one of them, her nature meaning little in the face of the camaraderie between her fellow Iron Division members; Though not for all. She would grow and learn, becoming a fierce and deadly warrior that stood above the rest of her fellow clan members. And that was how she eventually found herself as part of the forces storming Hell, the depths deep below even the Underground where their greatest foe, the demons, reigned.

The siege failed, and the Iron Division's forces shattered and slaughtered, and their home quickly came under siege in return. It would be in those coming months that Zan, almost single-handedly, would rise and face the demons. Pushing them back to their pits, and following with the survivors of the I.D forces, to cut the head off the threat and leave them scattered for the foreseeable future. Coming home victorious, to rebuild her home.

  • Skills/Abilities:
    • Superhuman Strength and Stamina: Thanks to her dual orc/demon heritage, Zan is far stronger than the typical person. And stronger even than her orc sisters. She can kick a man hard enough to cave his chest in with a single blow, and swing an axe hard enough to remove heads with a casual attempt. Her years of training and fighting have also given her large pools of stamina, leaving her able to fight for hours, if not days, non-stop.
    • Superhuman Durability: Much like with her strength and stamina, her heritage means she can shrug off damage that would harm a normal human, and withstand large amounts of damage that does wound her. Though she is far from invulnerable and sustained gunfire or powerful blows can cause significant damage quickly.
    • Berserker: When in battle, she can fight until crippled or lethally wounded, with little impact on her abilities. Her rage and blood-lust keeping her going even in terrible circumstances.
    • Weapons Master: An unnatural lifespan and constant martial practice, alongside her natural abilities and smarts, has given Zan the ability to pick up a good chunk of weapons both magical and mundane and quickly figure out how to use them effectively.
    • Demon blood/Primarchs' Blessing: Corrupting or damaging influences of demonic and dark origin will have limited effects on Zan compared to the usual person, thanks to a combination of her demon heritage, and the magical blessing she received from each of the demon Primarchs.
    • Aging Immortality: Zan, like every other orc and goblin of her clan, is immortal when it comes to aging.
    • Tactical Prowess/Intelligence: In the fields of combat, warfare and leadership Zan stands above her sisters as well. At least, when related to herself and a small band of followers. A combination of her age and the training she received as part of the Iron Division, allowing her to strategize on the fly and think on her feet to overcome obstacles during combat.
  • Items:
    • Axe: A sturdy one-handed axe that, when combined with Zan's prodigious strength, makes it a deadly and brutal weapon. Also able to be tossed with enough force to go significant distances, and typically eviscerate whatever it hits.
    • 'Praak' Spike Gun: A crystal-powered rifle made from dark iron. Essentially a gauss rifle with a moderate rate of fire, and both an auto and semi-auto setting. A crystal-powered heater also heats the metal bolts used as ammo for more deadly firepower. One magazine holds 36 rounds.
    • Hellclaw: An unholy weapon forged by demons from an enchanted membrane wrapped in obsidian scales and chains. It feeds on demonic and hellish energy to produce constant but slow moving bursts of magical energy that launch from the palm, though it can drain life from things with a touch to regenerate the energy as well. It is not an immediate drain though, taking time. It also has a secondary ability, where by gathering energy in the palm the user can throw out a magical proximity mine that will activate when it hits the ground.
    • Fixer Goggles: A pair of goggles with lenses made from special, enchanted crystal that maps and highlights the environment in bright green hues, and visible living beings in white, allowing the user to see in the dark.
    • Vial of Healing x10: Small glass vials filled with healing potion, 1 dose being enough to deal with minor injuries or wounds. Anything larger requires multiple doses, and a serious wound would require all 10 to heal fully.
    • Choker of the Beast: A crude, bloodied choker infused with dark magics that can turn the weak of heart away in fear, fleeing for their lives, as well as reflect back some damage inflicted to the wearer. Effect is temporary, lasting only a minute, before it must be recharged.
    • Potion of Stoneskin: A potion created through alchemy and Earth magic, drinking it forms flakes of stone all over the user's body, providing a dense layer of natural armour that can greatly reduce damage. Also dulls the user's nerves, rendering any pain that does occur as heavily muted. Only lasts for 45 seconds before it fades, though.
  • Misc:
    • Zan has the blessing of the demon Primarchs within her, her world's equivalent of demonic gods. Which is something that those with the ability to sense such things may be able to detect.
    • She has a very big appetite. She can clean out a larder of food and drink with ease if allowed.
    • Very tall. At least 7ft, considering she stands a head and shoulders above a human man.
    • Likes girls. A lot.
    • The Praak gun is named after the adorably chubby little spined rat native to her home.

  • Name: Gabriel Agreste, aka Shadow Moth
  • Source: Miraculous Ladybug
  • Age/Gender/Species: 35, Male, Human
  • Appearance: As Gabriel and as Shadow Moth
  • Personality: There are two distinct faces that Gabriel puts on: the face of fashion designer Gabriel Agreste, and the face of Paris's notorious supervillain, Shadow Moth. The former is almost stereotypical, the poster child for "aloof owner of a million dollar fashion brand" across the globe. He's distant, easily irritated, business-oriented, and more than a little unscrupulous. Not to say he's entirely inhuman. There is a warmth underneath the cold exterior, especially towards his loved ones, and he can be quite amiable in the right circumstances. Shadow Moth, on the other hand, is practically flamboyant by comparison. A cunning and manipulative figure, Shadow Moth plays the role of villain to a T, all gravelly monologues and shaking his fists at those darn kids, but he's not someone to underestimate. Shadow Moth is someone who will do whatever it takes to reach his goals, no matter the consequences, always with a plan or two up his sleeve.
    • The real Gabriel is neither of these in full, but a combination of both - a doggedly pragmatic man, weighed down by his determination towards his family, driving him to do whatever is necessary to keep them. Ultimately he is broken, clinging to the last bit of hope that draws him deeper into obsession and instability. Not quite yet though...
  • Backstory: Gabriel Agreste is the owner and CEO of the Gabriel brand, a company that produces everything from fashion lines, perfume, and sports equipment to high-end technology. He lives in a large manor with his dear son Adrien, and his personal assistant / closest confidant, Nathalie Sancoeur. In the past he, Nathalie, and Emilie - his wife and Adrien's mother - would explore the globe, hunting down prized artifacts and discovering lost knowledge. On one of these expeditions they uncovered two magical jewels, the Butterfly and Peacock Miraculouses, as well as an indecipherable tome containing the secrets of the Miraculous. Emilie, attempting to use the Peacock Miraculous, was affected due to its broken state, causing her to almost die and fall into an endless coma. Gabriel, grief stricken from the loss of his wife, angrily sought after two other prominent Miraculouses, those of the Ladybug and Cat, which, when used together, grants a single wish to their user that can rewrite reality. Deciding that the best way to lure out superheroes was to create supervillains, Gabriel utilized the Butterfly Miraculous and became Hawk Moth, warping its abilities to threaten Paris with his own slew of superpowered puppets.
    • Sometime down the line of his constant battles against Ladybug & Cat Noir, Gabriel managed to uncover the code to decipher the tome, and fixed the Peacock Miraculous using its information - after an extend period where Nathalie used it while it was broken, nearly dooming her to the same fate and crippling her from it. Now with both the power of Transmission and Emotion, he took the mantle of Shadow Moth, a much more dangerous and adaptable foe...
  • Skills/Abilities: Gabriel, as Shadow Moth, gains his powers from his special Miraculous, magical accessories that transform its user and grants unique abilities. Shadow Moth is in possession of two, and they afford him the following powers:
    • Akumatization & Amokization - the respective powers for the Butterfly & Peacock Miraculous, these are Shadow Moth's main MO. While they function similarly - being powers based on the emotions of others and requiring the same method of empowerment - they possess differing quirks. Akumatization allows Shadow Moth to create akumas, energy-infused butterflies that can grant superpowers to others, turning them into supervillains themselves. Amokization allows him to create amoks, energy-infused feathers that can spawn Sentimonsters, controllable beings of any kind, from giant monsters to exact duplicates of other people and beyond. (Further specifics explained below.)
    • Emotion Sensing - a very useful tool, both Miraculous grant the user the ability to sense emotions in a large radius, covering at least the entire city of Paris. They can pinpoint where the emotion is coming from and the thoughts tied to the emotion, ie if someone was sad about a lost cat, Shadow Moth would know about it.
    • Telepathic Link - a minor addition to Akumatization & Amokization. Once an akuma / amok possesses its target, Shadow Moth is given a direct link to speak to them with, and can see and hear what they do.
    • Enhanced Capabilities - Miraculous, when activated, empower its holder, greatly boosting their speed, strength, reaction time, and all that fun stuff.
    • Quantum Masking - this is a very understated power but also one that's immensely helpful. While transformed using a Miraculous, the user's identity is magically masked such that nobody can tell who they are. Even if they physically look and sound the same, anyone aware of the user will be unable to recognize them. However, certain mannerisms (how they might talk for example) are still easily picked up on, so it isn't entirely foolproof.
  • Items:
    • Miraculouses - the Butterly and Peacock Miraculous. Very powerful objects, they're what let Gabriel transform into Shadow Moth, though he can also only active one if he so chooses to. When inactive they appear as an ordinary locket or peacock brooch, respectively. Note that this can apply to anyone else, should Gabriel somehow manage to lose one.
    • Cane Sword & Hand Fan - the tools granted to the wielder of the Butterfly or Peacock Miraculous user (pictured here and here). Like any other Miraculous tool, they serve many functions, from acting as weapons to possessing a number of useful functions, such as communicators, tracking devices, rebreathers, storage... etc. The Butterfly Miraculous's Cane also doubles as a sword.
  • Misc:
    Details on the Miraculous
So!

There's a few vitally important aspects to Miraculous in general and specifics on Akuma/Amokization that should be expounded on. There's... a lot, and not all of it might be relevant to the RP but is good to keep in mind just in case. These will be listed here, in no particular order.

  • Miraculous are tied to Kwamis, divine beings that represent facets of existence, such as Creation or Destruction. Think of them as fairies; they're very small, can't be digitally surveilled, and are bound to their master's whims. Each Kwami has its own Miraculous, and inhabits it in order to provide their power to its user (meaning they must be physically close to work). The Kwamis for Gabriel's Miraculouses are Nooroo (right) & Duusu (left).
  • Something worth noting is that the Miraculouses abilities are voice activated. To transform you need to verbalize the proper command phrase for that Kwami. Similarly, while not relevant to the Butterfly or Peacock Miraculous (for some reason), to use each Miraculous' signature powers also requires the user to say the right phrase. If a Miraculous user is rendered mute or otherwise incapable of using their voice, they won't be able to use the Miraculous.
  • Akumatization & Amokization need extra elements to function, butterflies and feathers respectively. While the feathers to make Amoks with come from the hand fan, butterflies to Akumatize must be grown (don't ask). Gabriel can store an akuma or two inside of his cane for later use.
  • Akumas possess their targets by inhabiting a physical object they have, be it an accessory or piece of clothing, a held item, even a vehicle. This item is always present with the akumatized villain regardless of what they might become. If the object holding the akuma is broken, the person is de-akumatized, and the akuma is freed. Should it not be dealt with, the akuma can potentially multiply, infecting other people with the same akumatization.
    • Amoks work similarly, with the stipulation that no change is made in the person amokized, and anyone in possession of the object holding the amok can control the related Sentimonster - including itself!
  • Akumatized villains can be anything; they might look the exact same with certain new powers, an exact duplicate of another person with all the same abilities, a giant floating head that breathes fire, a collective swarm of bugs, the classic weird-looking-human style supervillain, etc. What the target's appearance becomes, as well as what power they gain, depend on the factors of their akumatization, ie what emotions are being targeted, what object the akuma possessed, the nature of the person themselves, the context surrounding their akumatization, and so on.
    • Sentimonsters do not follow this rule. While they too are made from strong emotions, their makeup can vary wildly, and not even be directly related to the amokization process. The Peacock Miraculous user can also directly craft a Sentimonster for specific purposes.
  • Anything that can feel emotions are able to be akumatized. Some sapience is required, as base instincts don't count, but from ordinary people to hyper-advanced AI or sentient animals, if they can have directed emotions, they're fair game.
  • Akumatization & Amokization are not forms of brainwashing - Shadow Moth cannot directly control those his akumas / amoks inspirit, instead deepening the targeted emotion so they are more likely to act on it. Shadow Moth relies on manipulating his targets in this vulnerable state to do what he wants them to. Shadow Moth can revoke the transformation at any time, though has no other hold over them.
  • Akumatized people and Sentimonsters persist if the Miraculous holder that created them de-transforms. Only one Akuma or Amok can function at a given time, although this only relates to the individuals that used them. For example, if someone were to create a Sentimonster, de-transform, transfer the Peacock Miraculous to another user, that user can then also create their own Sentimonster without the first needing to be dispelled. (Outside of circumstances that might empower the user's capability to create more than one at a time, that is.)
  • Akumas and Amoks can reach their targets regardless of where they are, able to slip through the tiniest of cracks and reach up to any speed in order to do so. There is a limit on range, however. If an Akuma or Amok grows too far away from its creator, they lose the 'connection' they have; the Akuma / Amok goes rogue, no longer controlled, and the resulting akumatization / amokization happens without the user's awareness.
  • People can be akumatized more then once, either into the same Akumatization or an entirely different one depending on circumstance. Multiple people can be akumatized at once so long as there's an object that relates to them all (by its meaning or through contact) and they feel a similar emotion. Multi-akumatized people can either form one powerful Akumatizated villain or become many individual ones.
  • Most importantly, being the victim of an Akumatization is not a one way street. Anyone with a strong enough will can fight off the process, letting go of the emotions that the akuma is attached to, either before or after the transformation. Also, an akumatized villain can choose to willingly renounce their powers for whatever reason.

~Truth Hurts 22: After some discussion in the Discord, both before and after your actual posting this, I've decided on the policy that you talk to me in advance about the powers of an Akumatized character or Sentimonster, along with the person playing that character.note  (Putting it here so we have it in writing in case Discord is down or something.) Presuming you adhere to that, Gabriel Agreste is accepted.

Name: Team Rocket (Jesse, James, Meowth, Wobbuffet)

Source: Pokemon: The Series

Age: Somewhere in the 20's

Appearance: Team Rocket

Personality: Each one of them has their own personalities, Jesse is the hammy leader and the gorgeous one. James is the handsome but the dim-witted and only sane one. Meowth is a talking cat who is the sidekick to both of them, and Wobbuffet is dopey and also sticks around with them.

Backstory: Team Rocket is a villainous group who try and capture Pokémon, but in the end they're schemes fail. Of course, The three of the original trio met on the day while training to become members of the group. And as for Wobbuffet, he got traded to Jesse one day while she accidentally traded her Lickitung.

Skills/Abilities: Despite their attempts at capturing Pokémon and failing, they are good at making capturing devices and big mechs, despite those also getting destroyed too.

Items: They have some Pokeballs, when released it summons their Pokémon they had on their team.

Misc: Being a group character, each member's dialogue is color coded, Jesse's is Pink, James is Blue, Meowth's is Orange, and Wobbuffet's is Teal

~Owen 23: Uh...we're closed, dude. It says so right at the top of OP. If we were to open up again I'd be glad to look at any signups posted at that time, but not now—especially since you posted to main without being accepted first, which I am presently hollering.

Nothing like being the first to switch characters. To the bench of offscreen adventures you go, Trevor.

  • Name: Touya Todoroki, villain name Dabi
  • Source: My Hero Academia
  • Age/Gender/Species: 24/Male/Human (Extra Crispy)
  • Appearance: "All for a better future." Here with his natural hair color. 176 cm/5'8.
  • Personality: At first glance, Dabi appears aloof and unemotional; supplementing his stoicism with crass wit and acidity. Truth be told, it can be difficult to get him to emote further than that; he makes no bones about the fact that those around him are pawns to further his own goals and little else. He can be a team player, but he expects you to pull your own weight - and if you happen to be in the way when he lobs a fireball, then that's on you.
    • While the target of his undying hatred is unlikely to appear in the City, there are some people Dabi enjoys knocking down in particular; among them, sanctimonious might-makes-right arrogants and holier-than-thou heroes. In his opinion, there is no such thing as a hero; any who would proclaim otherwise feed into the broken system and uphold rotten values. Why not burn it all away?
    • At the very least, he is a bit more spirited than his usual, having just come from the best day of his life. He might be petty and poke you for his own amusement, still.
  • Backstory: Touya was born as an experiment. In the world of the future, humans boast various superpowers called Quirks. In most cases, a child’s Quirk will inherit something from both parents; thus it stood to reason that combining two powerful Quirks of contrasting natures could create something much, much stronger. „Quirk Marriages” were generally frowned upon in polite Hero Society – but in that case, how could an impoverished family say no to the No. 2 Hero himself?
    • Touya’s Quirk developed as powerful flames, mirroring that of his father. His mother’s Quirk being ice generation, it was supposed to act as an equalizer; a balancing scale to keep Touya from overheating on its own. His father was satisfied, even entertaining discarding his own dream to reach the No. 1 spot through his progeny to focus on training his son and ushering him into the Pro-Hero business. Unfortunately, genes tend to spite those who think they can make bank on them.
    • Touya’s Quirk was too powerful for him, burning him. His mother’s Quirk ended up hampering him rather than helping him. Perhaps this could have been amended with proper training and care, or maybe he would have to forsake his dreams of being a Pro-Hero in favor of a different career. His father offered no out, having given up on him – and instead choosing to breed another heir. Touya’s first brother was a dud, but the second one provided what his father wanted; a perfect progeny destined to control two Quirks in one.
    • In an attempt to try and reconnect with his father – as their previous interactions all revolved around training – and to try and prove his worth to him, Touya trained on his own, burning more and more of himself. This eventually came to his father’s attention. The man got on his knees and pleaded with his son to stop this madness before it was too late. Unfortunately, this madness was long instilled and Touya knew nothing else. In a moment of weakness, he took a swing at his infant brother in response. Anything to be noticed.
    • Some years later, Touya would self-immolate atop Sekoto Peak in one last attempt to get his father to notice him. Only his jawbone was left behind, and the blue flames were a brilliant spectacle, seen from miles on end. And yet, he returned from the dead somehow, now under a villain name Dabi. A decade later, he would – as a member of the League of Villains and the Paranormal Liberation Front – reveal his true identity to Japan at large; all that in the middle of a national crisis. Regardless of how the public had taken it, seeing his father and his youngest son’s stupefied, horrified expressions… well… it was a delight.
    • While Touya wasn’t done decimating his father’s legacy yet, the multiverse had other plans and whisked him away to this new world instead...
  • Skills/Abilities:
    • Quirk: Blueflame – Dabi can generate fire, and usually that involves shooting it from his hands. The flames are incredibly hot - reaching 2000 C/3600+ F at their best - and can break through hardy materials with sheer brute force; carving up concrete and destroying buildings, to say nothing of organic matter that stays in the crossfire. How the fire is fired may vary: Dabi can shoot it out in a gust like a flamethrower, lob fireballs at a range, blast at clost range, the works. Usually, it’s not going to be a prolonged blast due to Dabi’s poor stamina; pushing himself further comes at risk of harming his already battered body. Feeling strong emotions can intensify the power of his blasts, for good and ill. He’s very incautious in applying his Quirk to the world around him, partially to make up for his vision problems.
    • Innate resistance to low temperature and freezing, though that has a side-effect of making him weaker to his own Quirk.
    • Dead Man Walking – It is medically impossible for Dabi to be around in his current state. Nourishing hatred for over a decade kept him alive despite all odds, so he isn’t keeling over despite his multiple necrotic wounds and being held together by industrial piercings. Still, he didn’t walk it all off without issues. The burn wounds he sustained as a youth damaged his pain receptors to a point where he barely feels anything. So are his tear ducts burned away, making him unable to cry (though sometimes blood leaks out). That, in turn, gives him a perpetual dry eye; squinty glare and blurry vision go together with it, explaining his poor accuracy. Also, his artificial jaw is not set in well, and so a well-placed hit to the face can have him crumple like a sack of potatoes.
  • Items:
    • The clothes on his back are a fireproof ensemble, offering minor protection from the flames while being (largely) resistant to his own Quirk.
    • A burner (ha) phone; tailor-made for heat resistance. Has Minesweeper on it.
  • Misc:
    • Hates fish.
    • Eldest sibling of four.
    • Wears a crude artificial jaw.
    • Taken from the tail end of the Meta Liberation War arc, having just upended the existing status quo alongside his allies. He’s pretty chuffed about it.
