Break the Cutie is when a sweet, lovable character (aka The Cutie) suffers at least one horrible experience that threatens to break their spirit. According to Sandbox.Break The Cutie Wick Check, this trope suffers from a serious PCE/ZCE issue. The majority of examples basically boil down to "bad things happen to character", regardless of whether that character is The Cutie or not. It is determined that Break the Cutie needs a cleanup thread due to it being an Overdosed Trope (currently at 11612 wicks).
