Manga/ is supposed to be a region-specific namespace, so it makes sense for it to be excluded alongside the others.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.I would agree with this. Always mention nationality, which implies language; if it differs, point it out.
So it would go:
Anatomy of A Fall is a 2023 French courtroom drama in French and English...
The Zone of Interest is a 2023 German-language British drama...
"The Teacher's Lounge is a 2023 German German-language drama", OTOH, feels redundant.
True. But distinguishing between an Austrian, Swiss or German work in the German language is useful.
Yes, it should always be mentioned if the work is German, Austrian, or Swiss; but in the first two cases adding "German-language" is unnecessary since that's the default implication (unless the film indeed isn't in German), whereas with a Swiss film it should be clarified as it's ambigious otherwise.
Yeah, and with The Embodiment of Sins I mentioned that the work is available from the mangaka (who is based in Malaysia according to their Pixiv profile) in both English and Japanese.
Basically I don't think we need a rule here: tropers' best judgement is probably sufficient.

"Enshittification truly is how platforms die"-Cory DoctorowCalled most of the crowner items, as it's been a week.
The remaining one is sitting one vote away from the 2:1 consensus line, so giving it another 48 hours, as usual.
Just so we're clear - that last one doesn't apply to anime and manga pages, correct?
(EDIT: Apologies if this has been answered already - I don't exactly have the biggest attention span.)

I'm lovin' it. (My Troper Wall)I think we can add some sort of "in some cases this will already be clear from the namespace" caveat.
The intention is that the original language should be obvious to the reader. If other elements of the page already confirm it, I don't think we gain anything by duplicating.
Yeah that sounds fine

Pantheon Wick CleaningCalling the final Crowner item - it's had two extra days and it's still 2.17 to 1, so that's a stable consensus.
Now policy's confirmed we'll polish the wording over on the Administrivia thread, the update the page.

That something is reporting the first troper.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupIssues like that need to be reported and dealt with via other channels, not discussed on the forums.
Hmm, maybe certain region-specific namespaces (Anime/, Manga/, Manhua/, Manhwa/) could be exempted from that?
Or are there not always Japanese anime and manga, Chinese manhua, and Korean manhwa? (EDIT: Hm, there's also OEL Manga... but the namespaces in that list are varied.)
There are some manga, manhua, and manhwa in Webcomic/ though.
Maybe just mentioning nationality would be sufficient in some cases? For example, Mechamato is a Malaysian show, so it's originally in Malay. In other cases where nationality doesn't equal the language a work (originally) uses, that could be pointed out (Molchat Doma is from Belarus, but all their lyrics are in Russian, which is also an official language there aside from Belarusian.)
