We have determined that Lets Players are not inherently tropable. They need to provide some sort of narrative, characters, and story to be allowed on this wiki. This applies to Vtubers just as much as other content creators, but Kayfabe makes the distinction between streamer and character particularly fuzzy.
The purpose of the thread is to remove tropes from pages concerning Vtubers that apply only to the actor rather than the character.
- If there is not a clear separation between the character and the actor, we assume that it is the actor represented, and thus they are not tropable.
- In other words, it is up to the user writing the example to show that it pertains to the character and not the actor.
- Regardless, the content they produce must meet our standards for Web Video, meaning substantial original and/or transformative material.
- A vlog, review, or Let's Play does not become tropable just because the person doing it has an anime avatar.

I'm not sure about this entry. On the one hand, it's likely accidental that appearance and demeanour coincided, on the other hand the design was clearly meant to look childlike and innocent with those bulging eyes and the blond hair might be part of it.
Stories don't tell us monsters exist; we knew that already. They show us that monsters can be trademarked and milked for years.

The Starving Artist entries in hololive - Mori Calliope Ch. look to be IRL troping:
- From what little is known about her personal life, she embodied this. Despite being multi-talented, she was working two other jobs, barely making ends meet. Her living space was incredibly cramped (from her description it seemed even smaller than a normal studio apartment), with her "desk" seeming to be not much more than a small end table that she didn't even have a proper chair for and had to squat over to use. She also seems to have been living off cheap booze and fast food or instant curry for a while; the former by choice (as she can't taste the difference with expensive stuff) and the latter out of necessity. Only after she joined hololive was she finally able to afford some luxuries.
- For that matter, even after she joined hololive and became one of the most successful VTubers in the world, living in Japan while still being a US citizen put her in the top tax bracket of two different countries, making almost all her money go to two separate governments.

Runs afoul of the six-month waiting period. This entry, along with whatever writeup for Overshadowed by Controversy will come, should be fine to re-add once the waiting period is over.
Calling once again for the cutlisting of some Characters.Nijisanji pages. I would make a case for Characters.Nijisanji Korea since it was unilaterally brought back from the sandbox with minimal changes a year ago, but my focus is on Characters.Nijisanji India and Characters.Nijisanji Other.
Characters.Nijisanji India needs to be cutlisted since it's in an even worse shape than Characters.Nijisanji Korea, having 3 graduated talents and only one among those that tropers actually even bother to trope. That, and my call to remove Noor's Kicked Upstairs trope addition (this is not supposed to be public, to whoever wrote that) went unanswered.
Characters.Nijisanji Other is in the same boat, having two entries that have nothing but We Hardly Knew Ye, troping on CEO Riku Tazumi and the overall page being so short that all of its content can be put on the main index without issues.

The thing is, the 2023 and 2024 pages are even in worse state than the Korean page. If you put the Korea page back as a sandbox, you have to make the other two sandboxes as well.
The only reason I made the Korea page public was because the 2023 was already out despite having less tropes listed. I don't mind if the Korea page becomes a sandbox again, but then the other two pages have either to become sandboxes themselves or be added to the main index.

You know, given the uptick of Nijisanji complaints, I think we should add it to the complaining sandbox due to how their negative reputation is causing a significant uptick of complainy edits.

The latest edits on Characters.V Shojo have added Multinational Team, but this feels like misuse to me...an RL agency having talents from across the globe isn't really a trope.

That is something that has been bothering me for a while, especially with how slightly intrusive the Multinational Team entries are on Characters.Hololive English Generation One Myth Characters.Hololive English Promise And Council. They ultimately fall short of the required in-universe justification.
I honestly have no idea what to do with those.
On the one hand, some of them are firmly baked into their vtuber character identities, like Kiara incorporating her Austrian/German heritage into one of her outfits, Calli and Nerissa being rigorously American and Calli's Sheriff outfit personifying that. While Bae's whole identity revolved around being Australian from debut.
But on the other hand, some of them do feel a bit too intrusive and based on countries that are not inherently part of their characters and only mentioned like once ever.
Maybe we could re-tweak the trope entries to their fictional lore homes when applicable, like Gura with Atlantis and Ame with Britain?

I think it's easier than that. The Team was redefined in TRS to be a supertrope for all team tropes, and one requirement is that they work together as a clear unit to complete a goal. I don't think they count as a team of any kind by our standards.

It's a bit vague with Myth, but Council/Promise are definitely a team and even have a lore designated leader.

They are stated to be the Council of World Administration. It is their job to oversee the running of reality as like guardians of a sort. They used to meet up in their special meeting room to discuss matters related to their duties.

That makes enough sense that I can see it being used for them, but not for the others.
Honestly I'm neutral on whether we keep or cut the Multinational Team entry. But to say they aren't a team just isn't right.
Several gens specifically have interlinking lore that groups them.
Myth's lore is that Ame gathered them together for an investigation but several animations/songs have them going on adventures together as a team. Their "Non-Fiction" and "Journey Like A Thousand Years" song lyrics specifically state they battle and overcome challenges as a group.
While other subsequent gens don't currently have any team tropes listed, they definitely fall under the definition of teams.
- HoloX is quite literally a Secret Society led by Laplus with all her other gen mates having roles in her organisation like secretary, scientist, bodyguard, intern .etc
- Advent were all fugitives who escaped from an Extranormal Prison and they all consider Shiori as their leader who masterminded the escape.
- While TEMPUS and ARMIS is even more obvious as they are explicitly called guilds with all of them having guild roles that are relevant when they go out adventuring.
Only the early JP gens and Indonesian gens lack interconnecting lore and aren't really teams.
