Allies from Above (A Mecha/Magical Girl/Boy RP) (interest check+sign up)

The city of Reefside from an outsiders perspective it like almost any other large city near the ocean, with all of the same sights that might be taken in from anywhere else. Except for the giant monsters conjured from the pain of the people within the city by the Witches of the Seven Sins Coven and the young men and women who are contract with alien beings who become machines of war in order to fight them.

Okay maybe it isn't the most normal of places, a city built by the sea and atop a gate to a realm known as the Negaverse, a place that drags down the worst of mankinds emotional baggage in order to prevent it from causing chaos amongst the masses. This barrier has stood for an unknown amount of time, but under the weight of mankinds negativity cracks have begun to form in the barrier, releasing seven evil beings that reached out to empower the seven most corrupt mortals then could get their claws into.

From there unknown locations the 'Witches' can reach out to those experiencing intense negative emotions and force them to undergo a Monsterization process, giving their negative feelings form in the guise of a Sin Beast, massive monsters that are immune from conventional weaponry.

Thankfully mankind wasn't alone in their fight, from the stars came a race known as the Positrons, machines lifeforms that bond with worthy hosts and convert positive emotions into power. Using said power they become powerful battle machines known as Magisoldiers, capable of not only fighting off the Sin Beasts but purifying their hosts as well.

Enemies from beneath threaten mankind, allies from above grant them a chance to fight back, all that is left is for you to enter the cockpit and change the history of the world.

• Name: Erik Milcamp
• Age: 18
• Personality: Erik is a calm and clear-minded young man. One of the brightest minds at Reefside high, he finds it very easy to make friends and easy to help people with their problems. However, that doesn't mean he's at all a pushover. He's taken Martial Arts for some time now and sees it only to be needed the way it's intended: Self defense.
• Background: Erik Milcamp will tell you backward and forwards that he has no known pedigrees. He has no well-known, well-off family. His father isn't some corrupt politician, he's a grocery store manager. His mother isn't some spy for the world government, she's just a librarian. His older brother isn't some haggard villain out for his blood, he's a typical bully brother who, at the end of the day, doesn't want him dead. Erik is just an all-around normal, average young man with his whole life ahead of him. That may be, however, WHY he was chosen by his Positron partner, Felis, to become one of the chosen warriors. So, seeking more means to help those in despair, and a means to protect his home, he holds the power of the Lion!
• Positron partner: Felis, his Lion-like Positron partner usually takes the form of a small robotic lion with a blue body and a golden mane. He's proud but haughty. He believes himself above all else but as a king, "He should defend the innocent, the downtrodden, the lessers", despite being only a king in name and having no such control, command, or even suggestion as the others. He believes Erik to be too "kind", and "quiet", and suggests he grow stronger, bolder, to let the others "hear his roar"! He's his backbone when push comes to shove.
• Magisoldier weapons/abilities: Felis makes up for what he lacks in general speed and dexterity in being a tank, and quite the damage dealer. His strength is damn near unparalleled and his defenses increase, but even a brick wall will come down with enough force. However, his Leo mode, while weaker, is considerably faster. Laser claws and fangs in his Leon form made for quick strikes, while his fighter mode has his chain blades.
• Appearance: Look at this guy, would you ever expect him to be a Magisoldier Pilot?◊
• Magisoldier Appearance: Felis Leon Mode and Felis Fighter Mode◊.

• Name: Alexander (Alex) Vardagen
• Age: 20
• Personality: A laid back man, Alex is neither the strongest nor smartest, but he certainly has a knack for good luck, letting him keep a cool head even under heavy stress. If he gets provoked or annoyed, he becomes a deadpan snarker with a bit of a hot head.
• Background: Alex has lead an interesting life. He's a country bumpkin who lived on a farm for most of his life, has gotten into a fair number of tussles, and has been though multiple near-death experiences, yet he'll always tell you that "he's just lucky." It's this luck that brought him to Reefside, having gotten a job at a local car dealership, just like it's this luck that had his Positron smack into him while he was on a walk. Apparently, his luck also makes him worthy...or maybe it's just his good natured heart (it's the second.) He's happy to help out, but...did it have to be so pink?
• Positron partner: A robotic, sparkling rabbit calling itself Pixel, Alex considers it an annoyance with it's constant girl talk and nagging at him to be cuter. She's the wise guy to Alex's straight man, yet even he isn't above some antics. Although the two bicker constantly, Alex's snark seems to have rubbed off on the robot overtime.
• Magisoldier weapons/abilities: Alex lucked out when he got his Magisoldier, it being one that's accustomed to his style of fighting. An aggressive counterattacker, Alex's Raving Rabbit has a hammer in one hand and a shotgun in the other. His favorite ability is the Bunny Breaker, allowing him to throw his hammer and letting it come back to him much like a boomerang. It also seems to have a double jump, though he has no idea why. Something about a Rabbit's Foot?
• Appearance: With slick blond hair and a loose black and white suit and tie, Alex considers himself to be a people's man. He has a lean build, an average height of 5'8, and a slight tan to his skin. He constantly oozes a relaxed vibe around him, but can quickly give you a mean death glare with his green eyes should he get annoyed.
• Magisoldier Appearance: His mech is...embarrassing to say the least. It's a large feminine mech with rabbit ears on top colored pastel pinks and purples, and somehow in a metal dress. Regardless, it does also have some cool blue fire decals on the wrists and legs at Alex's suggestion.

Character Sheet

Name: Mabel 'May' Toll

Age: 19

Personality: Mabel is a bit of an introvert, preferring to spend her free time reading manga and books. She is far-sighted, to the point where she needs glasses in order to be able to read. She is easily flustered around people she doesn't know, trying to rely on manga and other books she read to know how to act in public but in combat she comes across as extremely cold and calculating. It may seem as if she has a split personality but she doesn't; it's just she finds combat a lot simpler to process then her new 'normal' life.

Background: Mabel grew up as an 'arny brat', with her and her mother living in various military bases (with very few families). Mabel's parents moved to the city a few years ago to open a maid cafe, 'Table Manors', after her father left the military. Her mother, Belle Toll, is the manager and head server. Her father, Taylor 'Tay' Toll, is a former marine sniper who mainly works as a cook. From a young age, Mabel was taught how to use firearms and even trained as a sniper by her father, who wanted his daughter to always be able to protect herself. His father usually appears jovial while her mother is cool and polite.

Positron Partner: Glitch. Named after a device from a computer generated cartoon, Glitch usually takes the form of a bracer covering Mabel's left arm. Glitch can also assume other forms such as a laptop computer, a high-powered rifle, or a broom. Something happened to Glitch when it arrived on Earth; it can only communicate to others in beeps and other electronic noises. It can communicate telepathically to Mabel when she is touching it, or can send general data if within general range (Allowing Mabel to find Glitch if it is somehow separated from her or know if Glitch is in danger). Glitch can access and communicate with Earth technology, up to and including acting as Mabel's cell phone (she is constantly misplacing/losing her real phone).

Magisoldier weapons/abilities: On the small side of the other mechs, Mabel's mech looks like Valentine's mech from Gen:Lock except it's the same reddish-purple as Mabel's hair. The mech has a large weapon that can change appearance; in close combat it looks like a broom. For long range combat the broom changes into a rail-gun sniper rifle, with the bristles becoming the arm brace, but no scope (Mabel doesn't need one). The rifle can fire an extremely powerful projectile but requires time to recharge after being fired, as well as producing enough recoil to require the mech to either be braced or wind up falling backwards.

The mech has a built in smoke-screen generator able to produce a short lived, vision obscuring smoke cloud meant for evading combat.

The 'cape' can expand to completely cover the mech when it is crouching or laying on the ground, and can change colors to make the mech appear as part of the ground or part of a building. Using the cloak in its 'active' mode draws enough power that the rifle cannot recharge (although the rifle can still be fired while stealthed). Unlike the Gen:Lock series, the cape is not capable of invisibility.

Appearance: Mabel looks a lot like Mey-Rin from Black Butler. She normally goes around dressed in her restaurant uniform (a full skirted maid uniform) or baggy sweater and floor length skirt, with her combat suit underneath, and wearing her reading glasses. The maid uniform has full length, puffy sleeves that make it easy for her to hide Glitch. Her skirts have hidden pockets, including one for her handgun (a present from her father).

Magisoldier Appearance A reddish-purple humanoid robot, a little shorter then the other mechs, with a cape and carrying what looks like a metal broom (when not in rifle mode). Mabel has complained that Alex's mech has a dress and hers doesn't.

Congratulations Magisoldiers! You've been accepted into the RP. Some more time will be provided for other players to join in but be assured your spots are solid!

• Name: Curt Silas

• Age: 19

• Personality: Curt is a quiet person, preferring to listen to what others say rather than speak up himself. He likes to make sure he's thought his actions through before acting, and is quite patient, but this also means he can sometimes wait to long to do anything. However, Curt is always willing to help out his friends when they need it. His private nature also means he's gotten quite good at keeping his emotions in check, but if his fighting style is any indication, if he were to stop holding back, he'd be incredibly vicious.

• Background: Curt grew up in Reefside for as his whole life. His parents, Spencer and Jane Silas, both work at a local office building, which was how they first met. Curt has a positive relationship with both of them, but hasn't spoken with them as much since the whole Negaverse thing started. Fresh out of high school, Kurt was ready to head off to college... but when he found out he was worthy of being a Magisoldier, he decided to put that on hold until the Negaverse threat was dealt with. So he stayed in Reefside, but has gotten a small apartment and a job delivering pizza to keep his parents from getting too upset.

• Positron partner: Spypher. Takes the appearance of a red spider about the size of cell phone. He is incredibly impulsive, and will even take control full of his Magisoldier form if Curt doesn't act as fast as he'd like. Luckily, Spypher's still a team player, and will change his strategy if someone comes up with a better idea.

• Magisoldier weapons/abilities: Curt's mech is equipped with a pair of energy blades generated from each of it's massive forearms. While Curt and Spypher favor close up fighting, the blades can also be fired off for long range attacks, though without the arms to generate power the energy gets weaker the further they fly. Despite it's top heavy design, the mech is impressively agile thanks to several rocket boosters, which also allow it to leap incredible distances. However, it's most effective in open environments with plenty of space to build up speed. Trapped in a confined setting, it becomes incredibly awkward to move in, let alone fight Sin Beasts, and it's armor becomes it's only form of defense.

• Appearance: Has unkempt brown hair and tends to wear t-shirts and sport pants. Carries around an olive green backpack, which is now used to transport Spypher without anyone seeing him.

• Magisoldier Appearance: Primarily dark red with some silver, stands at about 15 feet tall. Though it has a humanoid shape, it's build is top heavy enough that it has to rest on all four limbs when at rest, and only starts using just its legs when it begins moving.

Getting in just under the wire, here's someone excited to be a mecha meguca.

• Name: Heather Smythe
• Age: 18
• Personality: Heather has figured out what the call of the Magisoldier is and she is incredibly excited about the fact that she gets to be a magical girl, even if instead of pretty dresses and magic powers it's big mecha and energy weapons. She is a relentless beacon of positivity no matter the context, bringing the same limitless energy to both her Magisoldier work and to her personal life. Nothing seems to faze her, not even the occasional suggestion that doing this kind of work will wear at her or require her to make hard choices; in her mind this is going to be a bright shining adventure of fun hero work even if she has to force it to be that way. Beyond her opinions on being a magical girl and her positive energy from knowing she is one, she also seeks to be the center of attention; whether it's the most popular person in the room or the bold leader at the front of the pack and to do so without hurting other people's feelings. She has a bit of a problem with people who gain power through bullying, after all.
• Background: Heather didn't have a spectacular childhood between her deadbeat dad and distracted mom. For most of school she was the quiet kid who hid her interest in typically 'nerdy' pursuits by just never talking about them. But when she was chosen; when the technological being calling itself a Positron appeared before her and offered her power drawn from good emotion? Heather realized right away the similarities to some of her favorite media and the spark hit the tinder as it were.
• Positron partner: Tangy, a being made of multiple geometrically-shaped border-less screens that arrange themselves into various shapes. While dormant, Tangy takes the form of a tablet computer, its myriad pieces arranging into a perfect square.
• Magisoldier weapons/abilities: Not every Positron managed to find a chosen hero. Some couldn't make the transit to Earth, some have so far been unable to find someone capable of the positive emotion required of a Magisoldier and for an unfortunate few the minions of the Witches cut them down before they could find a host. Heather's mech (which she hasn't given a set name) can borrow power from those unhosted Positrons, taking on their shape and abilities in a slightly reduced capacity for the duration of a fight.
• Appearance: She has a bit of a smug aura.◊
• Magisoldier Appearance: Heather's mech is an odd one. Like Tangy, it is formed of multiple self-arranging and color-shifting pieces with none of the components having specialized purposes beyond the sphere that acts as a control pod at the center of the mech. By default when summoned the mech is an inert-looking white cube until the pieces arrange into whatever shape of geometric blocks that fits the borrowed power it takes on.

• Name: Gogo Gadjet
• Age: 19
• Personality: Gogo is enthusiastic, eager, fiesty, and a hot-headed egotist. She loves her work, almost as much as she loves herself. She throws herself into every one of her inventions, giving it her all and determined to make it work. But she tends to get ahead of herself. She constantly cooks up batshit plans and inventions that would only be possible with her genius, but often glosses over the details. Her lack of caution has put her in danger more than once, but as long as she results, she doesn't care about the cost.
  • Underneath her bluster, she has an outrageous inferiority complex. Part of it is her short stature, but more than anything, she wants is to prove she’s worth something. Because her parents never thought she was. If she can't prove it to them, then she'll prove it to anyone who's still breathing.
• Background: Gadjet is the granddaughter of renowned scientist Professor Reinbach, a leading innovator in several major fields despite his checkered past. After the deaths of her parents, her grandfather took her in, but she felt he didn't appreciate her theories or inventions as much as he should have. But in truth, he appreciated them all too well. He could see the same genius and ambition that he once held, but didn't want her to go down a similar path. By downplaying her achievements, he thought he could discourage her and push her towards other interests, but it only increased her dedication. She was determined to surpass her grandfather and become the world's greatest scientist, but that was only one of her goals. Her parents were researching a revolutionary new particle in Reef City, but it wasn't long before they squashed by a rampaging sinbeast. She wishes to follow in her parent's footsteps and continue their work, but has a feeling there was more to their deaths than meets the eye and wants to discover the truth. Perhaps that is why her Position chose her. Both for her passion for science, as well as her urge to avenge her parents. If that means trashing every Sin Beast around, then so be it.
• Positron partner: Boltnut. Takes the form of a small lizard, red and white with gold, decals and decked with more nuts and bolts than they know what to do with. Where Gogo is bold and reckles, Boltnut keeps a level head, acting as the voice of reason and keeping her more impulsive tendencies in check. They can shape their tail and plug it into most outlets, letting them hack into machinery and low-level networks. With Gogo's enhancements and modifications, they can pass control to her and give her the same capabilities.
• Magisoldier Wapons/Abilities: Boltnut has moderate speed and power, but it's their skill and technique that makes them fearsome. Their limbs are telescopic, capable of stretching to great lengths and covering distance with little effort. They can extend a pair of energy blades from their gauntlets, slicing through enemies like butter. Put together, htey can tear through hordes of enemies in seconds. They're less effective in one-on-one duels, but Gogo's been working on various tools and extensions that can even the odds.
• Appearance: GOGO GADJET LEOTARD!◊ As a scientist and amateur engineer, she's upgraded herself with various cybernetics and enhancements that give her an edge on-foot, though she's defenceless against a Sin-beast. Stands at five feet.

Alright, here goes nothing...

Name: William "Will" Daugherty

Age: 20

Personality: Will is an easy-going and funny guy, and he'll take any chance he gets to get a laugh out of someone...even if it's just himself, which can sometimes make him come off like a jerk; he can get serious if the situation demands it, though. While he's not a coward, he's also not the most eager to get into dangerous situations, and there are times when he misses just being a normal person, but when push comes to shove, he'll never abandon a friend in need or shy away from his responsibilities. Underneath his joking persona, Will is also quite thoughtful, being capable of quick thinking, and constantly analyzing the people that he meets, trying to determine their intentions, personalities, and moods. However, this sometimes causes him to overthink about people or even about himself, as he's actually quite self-conscious about his "buffonery" and "cowardice". Will is also more "geeky" that he'd seem due to his extrovert nature, enjoying reading and watching old movies and plays, which makes him quite genre-savy.

Background: Will never wanted to be a heroe. He grew up with a loving, somewhat well-off family, and didn't have to worry about much during his youth except for his Geography grades. So it was quite a surprise to find out that he'd been chosen to become a Magisoldier. He was quite reluctant at first, believing that it had been a mistake or, if it wasn't, that the "Magi-army" or whatever it was called was scrapping the bottom of the barrel for soldiers. But he couldn't run away from his "duty"; his father was a police officer and his mother was a teacher, both of them raising him with a sense of responsibility that he could never shake off when facing a task such as this. And so, he decided to join in the fight.

Positron partner: William's companion, a falcon named Antigal, is old, wise, and soft-spoken, an attitude that contrasts with his witty partner. While he's not acostumed to Will's wise-cracking personality, he's always willing to offer advice to the young man, and won't stop believing in him and helping him accomplish their mission any way they can.

Magisoldier weapons/abilities:

• Flight.
• Great speed and agility.
• Enhanced eyesight that allows its user to see at 1 mile.
• Both hands can turn into arm cannons. Additionally, its right hand can turn into a blade that works as a tool or a close-range weapon.

Appearance: Will has green eyes, short brown hair, he's skinny, and is 1,77 cm. tall.

Magisoldier Appearance: Antigal's appearance is very much like a Power Suit◊ except for its greater size and height, wings on the back, and a bird-like helmet. The torso is green, while the limbs are yellow and the head is white, with black eyes.

The first Magisoldier crisis begins, the Witch of Envy creates a twisted monster and its up to the heroes to save the day. Good luck heroes.

• Name: Stella Hanbyeol Lee
• Age: 15
• Personality: On the surface, Stella seems cold and aloof, with a dash of Chuunibyou. Some think she is condescending and others think she is off-putting.
  However, on the inside, she has a firm sense of justice and is willing to stand up for what she thinks is right. She is also fiercely loyal to the few friends she has. She seems cold because she does not like the social food chain of Reefside High, and thus seems indifferent to most of her peers. Rather, she is friendly to the misfits at her school, as she tends to be free from the clique politics that run in her school.
  
• Background: Stella is the daughter of immigrants, who moved to Reefside to start a business. Her parents are busy running their company, and as they decided that her older brother would become the heir to the family business, they do not notice or care if Stella is out fighting Sin Beasts.
  One day, when Stella saw one of her friends getting bullied, she tried to help her friend fight back. A Positron named Mr.Resonance chose Stella as its partner and helped Stella defend her friend. And thus, Stella started her journey protecting her friends from the Sin Beasts.

• Positron partner: Stella's Positron partner is a robot named Mr.Resonance. In nominal form, he looks like a telescoping portable microphone stand. Mr.Resonance is more sociable and is better at navigating social situations than Stella is. He tends to be more happy-go-lucky, with a sense of humor.
  For melee combat, Stella can attach one of her knives to him to make a spear.

• Magisoldier weapons/abilities: Mr.Resonance can access human electronics, provided that the target has a wireless antenna as well. Mr.Resonance can recharge positive emotions from a long distance over a wide area.
  For weapons, Mr.Resonance carries a shockwave blaster cannon on his back, which can push objects away, or when set to the right frequency, can shatter them. Mr.Resonance can jump high and far, and he can also use the shockwave cannon to give himself a boost. For melee weapons, Mr.Resonance has claws on his front feet, which can cut through steel.
  Mr.Resonance can also fly, albeit slowly, and can also climb walls.

• Appearance: Stella is around 157 centimeters tall, with black hair. She generally wears dark, Goth clothes.

• Magisoldier Appearance: In Magisoldier form, Mr.Resonance looks like a dark blue and silver robotic grasshopper 3 meters tall and 10 meters long.
