Not gonna lie, I get more Kid Com vibes (especially the kind from the special-effect heavy shows like Wizards of Waverly Place) that I'd like.
SoundCloudWell that's a big part of her character. She writes fanfiction for Pete's sake.
The whole "imaginary comic panels" idea certainly looks very funky in a trailer but I'm wary it could get a bit much if it's used too much. Into the Spider Verse made it work but animation and live action don't follow all the same rules.
Overall liking what I see though.

"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."So I love it, but I have two weird note
A) Kinda lame to ditch her entire power set? I guess it's to avoid her being made redundant by a future Mr. Fantastic, but it's kinda lame not to have her powers?
B) It's wierd seing in universe so much Captain Marvel stuff, when in the MCU's own continuity, Captain Marvel has almost no exposure to the general public of Earth?
There's been a couple of reasons guessed for the power change, including the incoming stretchy toes of Mr Fantastic. But it could also be that sparkly energy is kinder to a TV SFX budget that lots of stretching and growing, or a thematic choice to tie her power set more closely to Monica and Carol when she appears in The Marvels.
Quite possibly all of the above.
"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."This looks pretty cute. I dig it, despite the power-set changes. At least she still stretches, I guess.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."It does manage to at least mimic her stretchy powers like her big fist attacks.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."The imaginary comic panels are neat but I really don’t like them altering Kamala’s powerset.
I guess aside from being easier for SFX it’s probably to eliminate the Inhumans’ connection and tie her origin to Carol (the effects are definitely reminiscent of Carol’s energy attacks).

Well, I guess we can call it confirmed: she's not an Inhuman here. She's got the Quantum Bands instead apparently.
Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonUhh is the trailer appearing to anyone else?
It's not playing for me. (Might've embedded it wrongly.)
No, same for me, I just went to YouTube to watch it.
Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonOoops, I've been 'd!
In any case, I'm casually intrigued. Keep in mind, we don't have an official reason for why Kamala's powers have been changed currently. Some people throwing out "it's because of Mr. Fantasic" just making casual guesses with (honestly) flimsy reasoning.
That being said, I am willing to give that "Quantum Bands" Composite Character hypothesis a little bit of thought.
Also, I kind of like how each Marvel series is trying out different genres. If this is supposed to be the Kid Com equivalent, I could see it working out.

So Kamala is Quasar. Did not see that coming.
Man, how weird would it be if they added the Nega Bands into that composite too. And, like, Kamala could use the Bands to swap places with Carol?

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.Speaking of kamala fan-fics, I think she should avoid shipping, so that kamala's hobby doesn't go from cute to creepy.
I mean, In-Universe, they're real people.
Reiterating what I said on the general MCU thread, they’re probably not going to draw a distinction between real world superhero shipping and superhero shipping within the MCU itself because it’d sound really weird to have someone somehow explain how shipping superheroes is only okay if they’re fictional.
Superhero fans in the MCU tend to be treated as just transplanted fans from our world, which is why they always have frame-perfect knowledge of what happened during superhero fights and outfits depicting heroes in looks they couldn’t have seen on Earth like Captain Marvel’s helmet or Valkyrie’s face paint.
It's well-established that Marvel Comics exists within the Marvel Universe, publishing based-on-a-true-story accounts of the heroes adventures.
Just watch the trailer, the show looks good but I'm not a fan of Ms Marvel's Adaptational Superpower Change. Don't get me wrong, her power is interesting but I feel like that's unnecessary to change Ms. Marvel power. Is there a reason why there's the huge change?
“Boom! Boomboom! Boomboomboom! Bakuage Tire! Gogogo!"There's currently no official reason at the moment. It's just been speculation from different people that had snowballed into Common Knowledge.
Going to be a big sticking point for a lot of people.
Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).Trailer looks great. I really hope that they include some shipping. Just not go over board.
