I must take umbrage with Stryker and Li Mei being boring characters that no one likes. Other than that, I think he did as good a job as could be expected for a Street Fighter/Mortal Kombat crossover. If I could change anything, I'd make Guile part of the base roster and have Charlie be DLC.
Pretty nice list he did. I do wonder how the art style would be like for a Mortal Kombat x Street Fighter game, seeing as they are very different.
Probably closer to 6 or something? Stylized vs realist is always a hard thing to balance.

Wonder if any of the other Menat designs would make it to an official game. Or at least a comic.
Wake me up at your own risk.Still not forgiving him for thinking Slayer is a better vampire than Demitri. No amount of coolness will make consider him a proper vampire vs. the latter who actually exhibited vampire tropes to the tee.

Thorgi looks at the long history of SF starting with SF 1 and the many many versions of II
Slayer also displays a damn fine amount of vampire tropes. With all his dark energies, living cape, amd his intro literally being sucking his wife's blood. Plus he's just so damn classy.
He doesn't transform though, so Demitri has him beat there.
The only one that outright goes for vampire tropes is the sucking out of blood, most just rely on bat imagery. He doesn't have the "classic movie monster" powers Demitri exhibit while fighting.
Basically what I'm getting at is that Slayer, you fight as a guy who has vampire as background, while Demitri you fight as an actual vampire guy.
The next two parts of the Street Fighter Retrospective.
As someone who's a fan of both horror and fighting games: I've been waiting for this shit for years. This year's Halloween-themed Build the Roster is a slasher fighting game. This will be Part 1. Here is the roster, with no restrictions as to who can be in the roster besides these rules:
- Movie characters only besides characters who originated from books but whose movie counterparts are more well-known.
- They all have to be characters that are not in the public domain (ie not someone like Dracula).
- They have to be characters who can fit in a fighting game that can have a moveset (not Norman Bates, The Babadook, and Reagan) and that can be fun (not realistic or depressing shit like Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer, Hereditary, or The Fly (1986)).
This will be a Mortal Kombat clone with a comeback mechanic to come back for one last scare and the ability to get stronger as the match goes on in some way. The roster size will be 19 characters.
The starting roster is:
- Friday the 13th: Jason Voorhees
- A Nightmare on Elm Street: Freddy Krueger
- Halloween: Michael Myers and Laurie Strode
- Scream: Ghostface with another Ghostface as an assist
- Evil Dead: Ash Williams with Deadites from the Necronomicon as assists
- The Ring: Sadako Yamamura
- Saw: Amanda Young with John Kramer as an assist
- Pumpkinhead: Pumpkinhead
- Hellraiser: Pinhead
- It: Pennywise
- Child's Play: Chucky with Tiffany as an alternate costume
- Leprechaun—I mean Gremlins: Stripe with other Gremlins as assists
- The Texas Chain Saw Massacre: Leatherface
- The Lost Boys: David
- Candyman: Candyman
- Phantasm: The Tall Man with his sentries as assists
- Elvira, Mistress of the Dark with classic movie monsters as assists
- Us: Red with her family and Tethered versions of the opponents as assists
- The Thing (1982): The Thing as the random button
- The boss is a rival character with their comeback mechanic on at all times.
- The final boss is Pazuzu as himself.
The next part featuring the DLC characters will release on Halloween.

Jason has come back to kill for Mommy. That's a really good roster. My only personal gripe is that the Thing is only for a random character every match. I get that the Thing's main thing is disguising as other living beings, but I feel like there's a lot of missed potential in not having it be its own character, as I could see it having access to some freaky Body Horror moves, essentially being a creepy, shapeshifting character like Arakune.
Other than that though, as I said the roster choices were really fun picks. I especially liked how he explains how each of them will play and it makes the characters much more unique. I personally really like the idea of the comeback mechanic as it definitely fits the whole horror character vibe, especially since everyone has one. Also, phrasing as if he's going to add the Leprechaun, only for the video to glitch out and immediately showcase the Gremlins really got a kick out of me. Can't wait to see who the DLC characters he chooses will be for Part 2.
I think Tiff should defnitely be her own slot, since Her getting a new human body, as per the series would lead to an interesting moveset. Likewise, I think Kelly and Pablo would make more sense as Ash's assist characters, while Ruby from the same series could be the one that summons Deadites.
Hoping his DLC video includes Sam Loomis, Tommy Jarvis, and the heroine from Dream Warriors.
Laurie is the only Final Girl on that list? I am also surprised Tommy Jarvis didn't make the list.

Despite not seeing that many horror films, this is a pretty decent roster. Plenty of familiar faces, one weird pick that works, a few oddballs.
I imagine people will want Leprechaun for DLC after that Bait-and-Switch.
I'm guessing these for the DLC
Leprechaun (as I said), M3GAN, One of the Killer Klowns from Outer Space, The Nun, Damien from The Omen, and Art the Clown

Jason has come back to kill for Mommy.>Cut Yoshi, Terry, Wolf
>Add Waluigi and Geno
I hate it already.
Yeah you won't get a view from me this time, Thorgi. Don't care about the reasoning, you already made a big X on me.
Like especially cutting any character from the Fire Emblem that saved Fire Emblem is hilarious too.

Not gonna lie, I was disappointed the moment he said Yoshi and Jigglypuff were cut, even though they were part of the Original 12, but what really grinds my gears is him adding Greninja but cutting Lucario. Greninja, while certainly popular, hasn't had much focus in recent years, with even Ash-Greninja being retconned out of the games and anime. Meanwhile, Lucario has had many more appearances throughout the franchise and is arguably more recognizable.
I hadn't even heard of Thorgi before now, but Smash caught my attention.
My big "nope" is cutting Lucario. I get you need to make hard cuts to fill the 50% quota, but Lucario's a personal fave. I'd rather lose Mewtwo.
On the other hand, my big "what" is cutting Min Min, and then replacing her with "ARMS' most popular character", Twintelle. I mean, I'm not an ARMS fan, but I thought Min Min was the most popular character?
I personally feel like Byleth should also have been spared since Three Houses was an even better-selling game than Awakening.
Jason has come back to kill for Mommy.
I don't see Capcom would be OK with gore even if it's optional.
