It is an age of heroes. From the day the Saint was first seen in newsreels back in '39, the world has always had champions. For decades, they've protected it from superpowered criminals, mad scientists, nazi nitwits, alien invaders, and even the odd incursion from other dimensions. Regardless of their origins — whether they received their powers in some sort of accident, were born with their abilities, used tech to get by, or relied purely on their training and hard work — they have long vowed to protect the world and make it a better place.

However, in recent years, things have changed. In times gone by, most heroes began their careers well into adulthood, with sidekicks being the only exception. But as the decades went on, more and more heroes began receiving their powers or beginning their careers at a young age, often without the proper training or maturity to use them without injuring themselves. Or worse. And so a solution was reached. Founded by Saint Solutions, a series of schools for young heroes in training was established across the globe. Now, any young hero who wishes to become a hero goes to one of these schools. Staffed largely by experienced, older heroes, they're the best place to go for anyone who wishes to hone their skills and learn what it takes to become a hero.

But the best of them all is than Saint Academy, located in Super City, California. And it's President is the original Superhero himself, The Saint. Blessed with great strength, speed, and extended longevity, he maintains a reputation as the world's greatest hero despite retiring ages ago, making the world a better place in his own way. Even if that makes Saint Academy a prime target. The Lethal Legion has long sought to destroy the academy and with it the world's best and brightest symbol of hope and peace. But this year, something has changed. Something only a select few people know, including the Legion. But one thing is for sure. It's going to be a hell of a year.

Hey, everyone! This is a Superhero Highschool RP, co-run by me and Nick The Swing, and inspired by such series as My Hero Academia and Avengers Academy. It's both a spin-off of the main RP's and a redo of the original, retelling the story with new characters, old characters and 3+ years of hindsight.

But the basic concept is the same. You are a new student attending their first year at Saint Academy as a member of Class 1, your goal to graduate and become a fully licensed hero. The school is also for those who wish to control their abilities, though they can choose to become a hero if they wish

Much of the RP will involve taking classes and engaging in activities such as superpowered sports or tournaments to test your skills against each other. Even so, it won't be a cakewalk. All sorts of villains have their eyes on the school and will stop at nothing to achieve their agenda, so you had best be prepared.

There are several types of students. available. First you have those who obtained their powers in some sort of accident or experiment. These are some of the most students or heroes. around. Next up, you have those who were born with their powers. These can come with a physical mutation such as Petting-Zoo People, green skin, four arms, etc. The sky's the limit. Some students only come to the school to control their powers, though many (if not all,) choose to become a hero by the time they're done. Then there are those who rely on their tech for their powers. You might have someone who wears a suit of Powered Armor, or you could have someone using a belt that makes them shrink. They could even be another species. Different races are less common than the main RP's, but they exist, even if many lurk in the shadows.

  • Real Name: Martin Snow

  • Superhero Name: Paragon

  • Age: 15

  • Appearance: Tall and lean with a mess of blonde hair atop his head. When not in his costume he can be found with a button up shirt tucked into brown slacks. His costume is a red and blue full body suit with a cape over his shoulders. Plastered across every inch of the costume are various charities made out in solid black as to be easily seen against the colors of his suit. He carries a first aid kit on his hip.

  • Personality: Kind and gentle despite his power Martin is the kind of guy who can get along with almost everyone. His forgiving nature and positive outlook can make him come across as naive to some, but despite that he continues to give all he can for the world at large. However he holds quite a bit of self doubt, constantly judging himself harshly on what could be done better rather then celebrating his victories.

  • Powers: The ability to enhance himself through heroic deeds, or more accurately the more heroic deeds that Paragon performs the stronger he becomes. Speed, strength, sight, hearing, and durability all increase to an order of magnitude by percentage. This caps out at 100%, where his abilities begin to strain against Martin's body and runs the risk of a great deal of internal trauma due to harnessing to much energy. After about a minute of use at this level his body will forcibly shut itself down and put him into a catatonic state until he can naturally heal himself. While theorized that he could reach beyond 100% by performing a large scale operation this has yet to be tested, as doing so would involve too much risk on those studying it and Martin's body.

  • Gear: A first aid kit filled with various first response tools.

  • Backstory: Martin was a fairly typical kid during the age of supers, admiring the greats and watching various battles on the news as the heroes faced off against the seemingly unstoppable foes the universe threw at them. Even from that young age he decided that he wanted to be a hero and sought to emulate the best qualities of the people he looked up to. Throughout most of his childhood Martin could be found helping around the neighborhood with every little task that could be needed. If there was a cliche a hero might be found doing you could usually find him in the process of it. Helping old ladies across the street, mowing the lawns of neighbors, even going so far as to help get kittens out of trees with the gusto of a possessed person.

It is unknown exactly how his powers developed, whether it is a natural phenomenon or some strange form of esp allowing him to convert emotional energy into raw force. But the day they first activated was one that he will always remember. There was a fire and first responders were blocked due to a mass prison riot on the other side of the city. Driven by his desires he dived into the inferno and pulled out a number of those trapped inside. Each time he dove back in he seemed to come out faster, lifter heavier things, find those trapped. However during his rush he hit his limit and fell unconscious, his face landing on a superheated piece of metal. Thankfully he was then saved by a hero who had broken away from the battle to help local rescue operations.

Despite his injuries that day Martin has no other wish then to continue his dream of being a hero, however he had cooled a bit and likes to think he is a more rational person. That being said he repeat his actions again at the drop of a hat, so odds are that he hasn't.

  • Real Name: Liam Eckhart
  • Superhero Name: Reversal
  • Age: 16
  • Appearance: Despite or, perhaps, because of his upbringing, rather than dress in any kind of chic or expensive clothing, Liam dresses in a faux fur lined bomber jacket, a long sleeved t-shirt with a pocket on the front, black and somewhat cut up looking jeans, and sneaker shoes. Liam has brown hair left in a rather disheveled condition, light blue eyes, and a lean, lightly muscular build. He has a prominent birthmark on his right shoulder.
  • Costume: None so far.
  • Personality: Liam primarily prefers to chill, relax, and party - he has a liking for having fun and going places, being fond of travel and sight-seeing. He is however rather conflict averse, as his family is nothing if not entirely based on conflict - to the extent that he can seem rather passive at times, though in a more decided fashion, as if he's trying to not act in passion or anger. However, he does have a strong sense of right and wrong, being something of a white sheep among the Eckhart Family. He's conscientious and keen to let people know if something bothers him on an ethical stand point. Actually doing something about it is a problem with him, though Liam has his limits. He is presently estranged from quite a bit of his family, though he's still in contact with his aunt.
  • Powers: Liam possesses the "Counterattack Force" Regalia, a defensive and counterattack based energy force that can respond to aggression very powerfully. It can be shaped into and utilized for a number of methods, though it's indicated its nature as a "Counterattack Force" may well be just one part of its capabilities - though any direct attacks it's capable of are largely limited, and derived from "Purification".
  • Gear: Liam makes use of a set of gloves with wires attached that can be deployed to restrain his enemies - and possibly be a channeling point for Regalia.
  • Background: Liam's family, the Eckharts, used to be known for better things than they currently are - unfortunately, in old times, a greedy, wealthy family married in and they never went back. As of now, they're petty demagogic would be politicians. They are presently infamous for the current family patriarch, Myron Eckhart and his nativistic and cruel campaign for President. The Saint actually spoke publicly against Myron, providing sufficient fuel to end the Eckhart patriarch's campaign in failure. Liam is the second youngest son of the family at 16, his little brother Brandon three years younger. Liam however was never exactly associated with them in a meaningful capacity (and in fact was largely estranged), being enrolled at Private School until a chance fight with a school bully resulted in Regalia breaking the bully's hand - and Liam going on to Saint Academy to try to better understand Regalia's nature so as not to go breaking people's hands.
  • Etc:
    • Liam's aunt is largely his parental figure.
    • Liam is the first user of Regalia in his family's generation. Only his aunt before him had it.
    • Liam has a possum that at some point tagged along with him during a party that wrecked his old place.

  • Real Name: Lucy Melanie Livingston
  • Superhero Name: Inkwell
  • Age: 16
  • Appearance: Stands at 5'4". A pale, somewhat gaunt-looking teenage girl with dull grey eyes and a perpetually worried expression on her face. Carries herself nervously and in a closed-off fashion, fidgeting often, typically hiding from other people beneath a hooded jacket. Her clothes are usually stained a glossy black thanks to her practice of storing her ink within the fabric. When suffering an overload (or the beginnings of one) her retinae may glint with an unnatural white light, potentially even overtaking her pupils entirely if it becomes severe enough. Has a few scars on her body from her vigilante career, the worst being a particularly nasty one along the right side of her neck—a jagged scratch barely missing important arteries from a stray bullet that just about grazed her neck.
  • Costume: An amateurishly stitched-together suit of padded Kevlar-style armour in two main parts, coloured a deep purple and featuring a black peace symbol emblazoned on the chest. The suit also comes with matching black fingerless gloves, combat boots, utility belt, and a cape/cloak large enough for Lucy to wrap around her entire body for warmth. The suit is clearly worn, with some frayed scratches and even bullet holes having glanced off of the edges. Most notably, it has a thick high collar, which somewhat limits Lucy's head movements while wearing it.
  • Personality: Lucy is an extremely quiet, slow-moving and cripplingly shy girl who seems to have dedicated herself to helping out other people at the extent of her own self. Externally, she seems nice enough, but internally she's fighting a perpetual war between this supposedly selfless ideal and her true personality. When put under enough stress or conflict, she may dissociate or deliberately drop her more gentle persona, beginning to act more sardonically and viciously with peers and enemies alike in a way that suggests that she's been holding this behaviour back for a long time. This dissociative practice of hers is in fact so severe that she has begun to pseudohallucinate; perceiving a monstrous caricature of herself in the corner of her view despite knowing full well that it's only her mind playing tricks on her. Though she continues demonizing both sides of herself (only considering the 'gentle' persona to be of any practical use to others) Lucy is a truly kind person at heart, but is just unable to reconcile her flaws with her own ideals—incapable of living up to her own high standards of what it means to be a decent person.
  • Powers: Lucy is an ESPer of considerable potential, with a long lineage stretching back to a possibly extraterrestrial psychic origin point that continues to be present in some form throughout all its children. As is typical for ESPers of her breed, her powers have only settled in her recent teenage years, and as such are still in development in the same way that she is. Sufficient stress and anxiety can cause her powers to begin to act up severely, which may cause uncontrollable seizures in her resulting in massive amounts of electrical phenomena from her brain and possibly even permanent damage to her grey matter and her body at large. The only way to stop these seizures is either from the assurance of another psychic or someone strong enough to withstand the effects of the overload and approach her.
    • Melanokinesis: The psychic ability to telekinetically control ink. Developing this power after psychically manipulating a pen while she was unaware, Lucy has since trained this ability in private to become almost surgical in its precision. With only a small amount of ink, she is capable of forming long tendrils of black liquid that can harden themselves into stabbing needles or slashing implements, and even break apart concrete through sheer psychic force while using said tendrils. She is fast enough with her ink to deflect bullets in her eyeline, and it can react subconsciously to things that she's not even paying full attention to—warbling with psychic energy in accordance to potential danger in a manner that suggests that it has a mind of its own. Lucy is currently working on how to change the colour of her usually oily black ink, with the hopes that she can disguise it using camouflage—and if she can control it well enough, learn to disguise herself using it.
    • Melanogenesis: The psychic ability to produce ink. Lucy manages this through a biological process similar to that of a squid or an octopus; gathering excess fats and bodily fluids into specialized ink sacs lined within her body and mixing them with her own melanin in order to create liquid ink, which she can then expel out from the pores of her skin. Her overuse of this power is clear in her gaunt and borderline ghostly pale skin, which has become so drained of fat and melanin due to her want to protect herself with ink that she ironically has to sometimes support herself using it. Thankfully, she can reverse the process at any time by reabsorbing her ink and breaking it back down into its base components, but at this stage there's no telling what harm it'd do to her body.
    • Tactile-Telepathy: ESPers of Lucy's lineage are known for their highly electrical brains, whose distinctive psychic signatures can overlap with other (even normal) brains in order to produce an effect similar to telepathy. Lucy is able to perform a rudimentary version of this trick through physical touch, normally by the hand or the skull itself, and using it she can search through another person's mind if they're willing enough to bridge the connection and let her in. Unfortunately, this reliance on fusing two minds together can have consequences when they're suddenly separated, and abrupt disconnection can cause agonizing psychic feedback in both parties for up to twenty minutes after the fact. Lucy rarely uses this power on people she knows or trusts, as she's concerned that they'll be negatively affected by her own mind—though she's a little too happy to try it on those she considers her enemies.
  • Gear: Along with her suit, Lucy carries a surplus of ink contained in anything from glass kitchen jars to actual printer ink cartridges. In addition, she carries art supplies in her school bag, which more resembles an oversized PE shoulder-bag than a normal school rucksack. For cases where she needs to restrain herself psychically, Lucy owns an antipsychic circlet (known as an ESPer "crown") which she can fit over her head; suppressing the heightened brain signals associated with psychic power in order to stop her brain from communicating with her ink—at the cost of minor tension headaches with prolonged use.
  • Background: Born to Lucius and Jane Livingston, Lucy was raised with her older sister Hannah and younger brother David during a strange time of conflict in their parents' marriage. With an easily-angered personality inherited from her father, Lucy was the instigator of many arguments between herself and her parents, out of frustration regarding their own tensions and how they were affecting her siblings at large. To the immense shock of everyone, after a particularly explosive outburst from a then ten-year-old Lucy towards her father Lucius, he suddenly left the house that very day and was never heard from again. Feeling it was her fault for him leaving, Lucy began the practice of blaming her reflection for every mistake she made, which only furthered her inability to reconcile her imperfections and mistakes with the unfailingly kind person that she truly wanted to embody. At the age of 15, an apparent nausea in class turned out to be her innate psychic powers developing at a rapid rate, and after recovering and training her abilities she began to pursue an illegal career of vigilantism despite her young age and inexperience—even dragging her conflicted brother along as a remote advisor to help her on the field. After an incident involving her being shot in the neck and almost killed while trying to interfere with a drug trade, Lucy experienced a change of heart and decided to agree with her brother's insistence that she go to some kind of school for her powers, and after admitting everything to her mother she soon secured a spot in Saint Academy so that she could better learn how to manage her abilities responsibly. However, her mistakes from her year-long vigilante career still linger in her mind, and the local infamy she gathered hasn't gone away either, making her somewhat ashamed to even put the suit back on most days.
  • Etc:
    • Lucy's siblings have all developed psychic powers from her father's side, ranging from an empathic aura in her sister to outright quantum manipulation in her brother's case. None of them, Lucy included, can remember what powers their father had—barring the fact that he often smoked and his eyes glowed red whenever he was angered.
    • Lucy is a colossal fan of Undertale, to the point where she crafted and painted a small kokeshi doll of the main character Frisk for a school art project. She still keeps it in her bag, albeit somewhat shamefully. She also runs a Tumblr blog dedicated to the game along with other similar ones she considers wholesome enough to talk about.
    • Speaks in a falsified generic East Coast accent, in order to disguise her strange natural accent for the sake of her own embarrassment—which sounds like a mixture between a Rhode Islander and Japanese thanks to the influence of her mother and father. That said, she does know some limited Japanese from her father, though given his absence she's starting to forget most of it.
    • Lucy still keeps the bullet from the accident with the gunman, in an effort to remind herself not to be so reckless while she's out doing heroics. She keeps it stored in an old ringbox that she found in the attic of her family's house, and tries not to think about if it belonged to one of her parents or not.
    • Suffers from minor farsightedness, which she counteracts with a pair of round-lensed reading glasses that she typically wears while painting. Oddly enough, wearing them seems to subiminally focus her personality into becoming more straightforward until she takes them off again; an irony that's unfortunately lost on her.

  • Real Name: Mikael Freisch
  • Superhero Name: Renegade
  • Age: 16
  • Appearance:
    • Human: A very tall (6'6"), muscular guy, with sandy blonde hair and crimson eyes. Even in human form his teeth are sharper than a human's should be. Tends to favor shorts and sleeveless shirts, and usually doesn't wear shoes.
    • Demon: Eight feet tall, resembling a classical devil - from the waist down, his legs are those of a giant warhorse, covered in black fur, ending in mighty hooves and replete with long tail. From the waist up, he is crimson skinned, with his hands ending in black claws. Two long black horns curve up from his head, and he has two massive batlike wings that fold into his back.
  • Costume: Typically just wears a pair of black fireproof shorts, using his demon form as his 'costume'.
  • Personality: Headstrong and confident, Mikael is the type to charge headfirst into a dangerous situation without much forethought. He's generally agreeable, but can come off as abrasive to those he disagrees with. He has a strong sense of justice, though he also doesn't view the world as completely black and white. He's willing to use lethal force if he feels it necessary, though he understands why others would be hesitant about it. Mikael actively enjoys violence, but tries to channel this productively; as a result, he's always down to spar with someone, and will readily jump in front of an attack meant for someone else.
  • Powers: Mikael is a demon, which at the simplest level grants him enhanced strength and toughness. He has a host of lesser connected abilities, all of which draw from the same well of demonic energy within him. Extensive ability use will burn through his internal energy reserves and wear him down until eventually rendering him unconscious.
    • Demon Form: He can shift between his human form and a monstrous demonic form, enhancing his strength and durability even further. His demon form possesses wings for flight, claws, and powerful hooves for kicking.
    • Regeneration: Mikael heals a fair bit faster than a human, and can recover from pretty much anything short of his head being cut off - even missing limbs will grow back given a few days.
    • Tough as Hell: Mikael is naturally fireproof, and resistant to toxins, acids, and diseases. He's also highly pain resistant.
    • Black Iron Armory: Mikael's bones (including his claws and horns) are made of a durable black metal, which Mikael can extrude from his body and reshape into crude constructs. Usually this just means pulling a blade or metal rod out of his arm to smack someone with, but he can also make cords or chains to tie up villains. This is the most energy-intensive of his abilities.
  • Gear: N/A
  • Background:
    • The Freisch family are well known amongst more occult circles as demon hunters. They track down and eliminate those they perceive as threats to humanity - which, despite the term 'demon hunter', can include any kind of nonhuman as well as human villains. Because of their tendency to go more lethal than most heroes are comfortable with, they tended to keep to themselves on the fringes of society. Rumors abounded that the Freisch family experimented with dark magic, stolen from the very demons they claimed to hunt. The truth was far different.
    • Mikael grew up in a small town with his mother Amadea and grandfather Josef, raised from a young age to hunt and live off the land. His father Samuel, supposedly a businessman who traveled the world, visited once a month or so. He didn't realize until his thirteeth birthday that he was stronger than he had any right to be. It was on that day that he felt something burn within him, and transformed into a demon for the first time. He fled into the woods in a panic, but his family found him, and then they too transformed before him. That was the day Mikael learned what he actually was. And he learned that 'Samuel' was actually the Archdemon Zamiel, who had hidden his true identity, knowing that a demon lord's son would be a target for political rivals.
    • After spending several years to gain a modicum of control over his demonic powers, Mikael decided to enroll in Saint Academy, both to better control his abilities, and to see if the life of a hero was preferable to that of a demon hunting other demons.
  • Etc:
    • Mikael has a pet dog, Herschel. Herschel is a trained hunting dog, and is also a hellhound. Despite this, Mikael prefers to not let Herschel near actual combat - both to protect Herschel, and because Herschel doesn't really understand the concept of 'non-lethal'.
    • Mikael is knowledgeable about and skilled in the use of firearms.
    • Is bilingual, speaking both English and German.

  • Real Name: Samuel Aster Everett.

  • Superhero Name: Arctic.

  • Age: 16.

  • Appearance: A bit calmer than this, and his coat is blue. His outfit also includes a pair of black pants, boots and a pair of goggles.

  • Personality: Quiet and reserved, Sam comes across as serious to most people, but if you talk to him, he proves to be friendly, if awkward, and if he lets his guard down, enjoys a good laugh and tries to do his best to help. He is also pretty intelligent and observant, even if he acts distracted often, and can be reckless and thoughtless at times.

  • Powers: Cryokinesis, he can create and control ice and snow, evaporate it, and make it take any form, and freeze things in seconds. His body temperature is also very low and his breath is visible even in hotter climates, but it doesn't affect him. However, he doesn't deal well with heat.

  • Gear: His boots hide ice skates and skis for extra mobility. The goggles are made to protect his eyes in rough conditions and see even through events like a blizzard.

  • Backstory: An expedition of American soldiers during WWII led to a discovery and an incident that caused one of the men, Private Gabriel Everett, to gain power over ice and snow. Taking the name of Zero, he returned to the battlefield. The power and the name remained within the family. Sam himself belongs to that legacy, and his life had been considered fairly normal, even if he has moved back and forth for years. Even with a few events he doesn't want to share, he looks for tomorrow and the path that he can make for himself as Arctic.

  • Miscellaneous: His immediate family is his father Chris, his mother Jean, and his brother Noel. Noel lives away working as Zero (III).

    • Making ice constructs helps him think, and sometimes doesn't even realize he is doing it.

    • Can slip away from the building to go and find any club with good music around town.

    • Brings his drums. He is good, even if he plays till late whenever he is in emotional distress.

Behold—a Canon Foreigner!

  • Real Name: Victor Vaughn
  • Superhero Name: As a supervillain, he was DOCTOR INFINIUM! ...right now, he's got nothing. He'll figure something out eventually. Probably.
  • Age: 16
  • Appearance: Still not quite out of the "mad scientist" phase yet. Stands at 5'3.
  • Costume: Doesn't actually have one yet (and using his Infinium getup probably ain't gonna fly).
  • Personality: Victor is somewhere between "mad scientist" and "former mad scientist". He has legitimate empathy, he does his best to be nice to his classmates—even if his own loopiness means it tends to come out wrong—and he's genuinely trying to be better. Unfortunately, this is hampered by the fact that he's still in the process of being better; he's still hammy, still rather unconcerned with collateral damage, still has a habit of putting machines before people, and still has occasional bursts of megalomania. He's trying to stem all of this, but it's there nevertheless.
  • Powers:
    • The Spark of Genius: How, exactly, was a teenager supposed to be a credible villain? This is how. When building something, Victor can enter a sort of "trance" so to speak, allowing him to create inventions beyond what most are capable of. Under normal circumstances, this would make him completely dominate, but there are two problems: he needs resources to build anything, and his powers are such that the spark only works in brief spurts; once he's done, he's back to his normal intelligence with no way of replicating the creation process. Also, it's entirely possible that this power might've driven him a bit...loopy.
  • Gear: A good chunk of Victor's inventions were confiscated by the government, because of the whole "supervillain" thing. He has, however, held on to a few:
    • Lightning Gun: Exactly What It Says on the Tin; a gun that fired arcing bolts of electricity. Overuse, however, causes it to overheat.
    • Electro-Scrambler: A device shaped like a taser. Firing it sets off a temporary EMP that kills all electronics within a ten foot radius for an hour. It then requires three hours to recharge before it can be used again.
    • Infini-Goggles: The bread and butter of Doctor Infinium. When wearing the goggles, Victor can scan machinery—any machinery—and hijack them for his own purposes, changing their programming to whatever he wants. It does have weaknesses, though—Victor has to know how whatever he's hijacking works, more complicated machines are harder to hijack, and the goggles were damaged in the fight that led to his arrest, so he can only hijack one thing at a time.
  • Background: Victor Vaughn's father died in a car crash before he was born. So we're off to a bad start. When he was four, his mother also died, this time from lung cancer. And so it was off to the foster system for young Victor, who bounced between families and lived his life as an eternal outcast. Naturally, this kind of life was very dreary, and he sometimes had the thought "I wouldn't have these problems if I were in charge".
    • And maybe it was at least partially due to his power—which, worth noting, he has no idea where it came from, it wasn't there one year and was there the next—but at some point, that thought became "we won't have these problems when I RULE THE WORLD!" And so fourteen-year old Victor put on a labcoat, built some goggles and robots and power armor, and created DOCTOR INFINIUM!
    • At first contenting himself with just having his robots do bank robberies and such (don't ask how that was supposed to help rule the world, he had literally no plan going into this), Victor eventually decided that he should make the grandest of grand appearances. And so he put on the power armor and launched an attack on the Super City Mall, hijacking all the electronics to hold the entire mall hostage! ...incidentally, that was the day Victor discovered the very fatal flaw in being a teenage supervillain—he was a fourteen-year old who'd just put himself on the radar of several heroes who were both adults and a hell of a lot stronger than he was.
    • Yeah, he got owned.
    • He probably would've spent the rest of his life in prison were it not for Cascade—one of the heroes who'd beaten him—arguing in his favor. She said that he was just a kid, and that he had the potential to turn back and be better. It took some time, but the court eventually agreed; Victor was put into Cascade's custody and sent to villains' rehabilitation, under the heroes' watchful eye.
    • After two years worth of rehab, the idea was put forward that he could go to Saint Academy to learn to use his inventions for the better. Victor agreed, mostly due to feeling he didn't have much of a choice, and so he ended up a former supervillain in a school for aspiring superheroes.
    • Let's hope no one holds that against him.
  • Etc: Has a Tumblr. Rarely posts on it, and mostly just follows video game fanblogs.

"Kept me waiting, haven’t you? Tch. No matter. Dawdle all you’d like. In the end, your defeat remains inevitable."

One rebooted fiery boi comin' up!

Real Name: Theodore “Theo” Sampson

Superhero Name: Firepower

Age: 16

Appearance: Theo stands at about 4'11 in height, has a caucasian skin tone, short, curly, strawberry blonde hair, and icey blue eyes. His superhero outfit consists of bright-white spandex outfit adorned with a flame pattern, bright red boots and gloves, and a pair of black sunglasses to 'look cooler'. He's currently attempting to find a way to work a trenchcoat into the ensemble as well.

Personality: Loud, Egotistical, and attention-loving, Theo is convinced he's the coolest person around and wants everyone to know it...At least on the surface. Beneath all the bluster and the cockiness, Theo has a deep fear of failure, whether that be failing himself, his classmates, or his older brother Norman. Despite not seeming to care that much, Theo takes being a hero very seriously, and is determined to be the best hero he can be, whether that be to make up for failing to protect his brother in the past, to atone for his past actions, or just the good of his own heart, Theo isn’t sure, but he knows that no matter what, he has to set an example; That matter who you are, no matter what you may have done or what mistakes you’ve made in your past, anyone can be a hero.

Powers: Pyromancy- Theo has the magical abilty to control fire, utilizing it in multiple ways;

-He may launch fire from his hands, feet, and mouth in the form of fireballs or streams of flame.

-He may cover his hands and feet in flame in order to enhance his physical attacks.

-He has an increased resistance to heat and fire.

-Though he hasn’t quite mastered it yet, he’s capable of propelling himself into the air by shooting out flames through his feet.

-He is capable of absorbing flame in order to increase his durability, though absorbing too much without expelling it leads to him overheating and collapsing from overexertion.

Backstory: A late bloomer in the prestigious Sampson family of mages, when Theo’s powers finally manifested at age 13 when they usually kick in at 10, he channeled his frustration, anxiety, and inferiority complex towards his magically-gifted family in a more destructive way then most would; having joined a group of superpowered delinquents in their mayhem, life was fun, games, theft, vandalism, and run-ins with the law until Theo hit 15. After a robbery gone wrong lead to a run-in with Theo’s superhero brother Norman Sampson/The Enchanter, Theo stood with his brother against the gang, a battle which, while the duo were victorious, ended in one of Norm’s arms being frozen and shattered by Krista Verglas, the very same person who’d brought Theo into the gang in the first place. Though Theo was able to get Norm to a hospital before he could bleed out, the injury resulted in Norman retiring to become Theo’s guardian. The incident resulted in Theo doing his best to turn his life around, and after a long, lengthy process and Norm vouching for him having changed his ways, it was agreed that Theo would be enrolled into Saint Academy to learn how to control his powers and use them to become a hero.

  • Real Name: Rebecca Raleigh
  • Superhero Name: Septra
  • Age: 15
  • Appearance: A physically fit young girl standing around 5'7", with green eyes and greasy blonde hair pulled back into a messy ponytail, Becca's most striking feature is her uncleanliness. Her body is covered in a thin layer of filth and grime, and her clothes, mostly long-sleeved t-shirts and jeans, are in similarly bad shape. Notably, she always wears a pair of black gloves, and has a car air freshener strung on a necklace around her neck, though its value seems more sentimental than practical. While not strictly part of her appearance, she also has a strong odor, comparable to that of a landfill.
  • Costume: A simple suit of full-body brown spandex, with dark green gloves and boots. She intends to put a symbol on the chest at some point but hasn't decided on one yet.
  • Personality: Rebecca has an air of enthusiasm and friendliness about her, but this is largely (though certainly not entirely) feigned. Her true personality is insecure, self-blaming, and slightly anxious, but her enthusiasm and friendliness are still there in a more subdued degree. She has a strong moral code, and holds herself and to a lesser extent her fellow students to an idealized standard of heroism, beating herself up when she isn't able to meet it, and when she isn't able to keep her friends on the right path. That said, she isn't averse to having fun, and will jump at the chance to take her mind off her problems as long as no rules are being broken.
  • Powers:
    • Putrefying Aura: Rebecca exudes an aura of psychically-generated putrefaction. This aura generates a layer of grime on surfaces, befouls water, and causes air to stagnate. Rebecca's aura can extend to a radius of 5 meters, but is usually confined to skin contact, which is why Rebecca doesn't expose any skin below her neck.
    • Mysokinesis: Rebecca is able to psychically control any unclean substance in her vicinity, shaping it to do as she wishes. The more she expands her aura, the more precise this control becomes, down to individual dust particles.
    • Immunity: As a result of her psychic medium, Rebecca is immune to illness and disease caused by uncleanliness.
    • Weakness: As a result of her unusually strong attachment to her medium, separation from dirt and grime physically weakens her to the point of rendering her unable to move.
  • Background: As the daughter of two police officers, Rebecca was raised with a deep respect for the law, and for heroes. Above all, she idolized the world's greatest hero, the Saint. And since Esper blood ran through her veins, she eagerly anticipated the day she was able to blossom as an Esper and fight crime herself. However, things rarely go according to plan. When it came time for her body to bond with a psychic medium, around puberty, it became clear that far from something flashy and heroic, her medium was dirt and filth. In addition, her bond with medium was unusually strong, to the point where she was unable even to bathe. At first, she thought her dreams were dashed, and she was destined for a life as a pariah. But her parents and twin sister Renee never stopped encouraging her, and in the end they were able to convince her to apply to Saint Academy. To her surprise, she was actually accepted, and she became determined to make the most of this possibility.
  • Etc. Rebecca suffers from hereditary anosmia, the complete inability to smell. As a result, she prefers foods with exceptionally strong flavors, that others might find unappetizing.

Tell Me, Have You Seen the Yellow Sign?

  • Real Name: Yeruslan Khulan note
  • Superhero Name: Creeper of the Narrows
  • Age: 16
  • Appearance: Khulan is a tall though dainty girl, about 1.73m tall (5'8''). She has green eyes and short, dark hair, and whenever she's not wearing the uniform from a part-time job is wearing fancy, colorful clothing. She wears black rimmed glasses. To those with supernatural senses, she has a substantial abyssal aura. Khulan is rarely not sporting a huge grin against opponents. Khulan usually averts Arachnid Appearance and Attire. One of the benefits of being out of the Abyss is that prey doesn't see a bebilith coming.
  • Costume: Khulan's classic costume is a domino mask, fingerless gloves, a fancy fedora with a glowing feather, and a cape over a sleeveless shirt and shorts, all purple. It's anything but practical.
  • Personality: Khulan is very active and loves being a flamboyant show-off. She's easily lured by promising thrills. That and prizes. Khulan views superheroing as a sort of art and sort of a sport. Khulan is unique among monsters and costumed adventurers alike for having no desire for conquest or to bring justice or revenge, only entertainment and to practice her 'art'. She's cavalier about danger but hates to lose a quarry. That said, a couple things keep her grounded. She knows other people are not cavalier about their lives, and she's still an important caregiver and older sibling to her younger siblings. She can (usually) channel her energy productively.
  • Powers: Bebilith physiology: Khulan is a preying hell spider with a human body and (naturally) spider themed powers. Her preferred prey and specialty are demons and it shows.
    • Detailed Power set
  • Gear: Khulan travels by bike, a custom one that can take a woman pedaling down the road at 200kph. She keeps salt handy not unlike human hunters.
  • Background: Khulan arrived at Saint Academy with alot on her plate. She already was a clandestine bounty hunter who took down bad guys for kicks and money. Khulan doted on two siblings at home and balanced school with a part time job to help support her family. Maybe she was overdoing it, but she's trying to repair her relationships with them all. Just prior to taking up bounty hunting, she'd been a delinquent herself from the same drives that fuel her heroics incidentally: thrill seeking and showing off. In those days, her energy led her to a combination of addiction and screwing with demonology.
    • And those two things in combination might have killed her. The Khulan that abandoned delinquency and began bounty hunting before going to Saint Academy is a bebilith summoned from the Abyss and into her body. Bebiliths aren't sapient and she more or less just went with being Khulan. And there is an argument that she is still Khulan plus a hell spider. Khulan considers herself Khulan (naturally). And she really set about building Khulan's best life.
    • To her two younger siblings, her foul moods ended abruptly, she went sober, she inexplicably gained an ability to make comfy swings on demand, and she started taking them out on the town or giving them money to do it themselves. Khulan’s parents are still dealing with the pressure from her earlier behavior, but her change and part time job gave them a huge break. Her family has no idea what happened and are also completely in the dark about her superheroing. Khulan, for her part, is in no hurry to tell 'her' family what's going on. She loves living with the humans and is very afraid of her secret getting out.
  • Miscellaneous: Khulan is an excellent instrument player. She has no shame drawing upon her arachnid traits to put on a good show as well. She speaks and is literate in Mongolian, Russian, and English. Her superhero name is more of a title that she went with. She is not at all silent, but she never introduced herself to people she'd be beating up before Saint Academy.

Okay, here's a WIP.

CHARACTER CREATION SHEET

Real Name: Antonia De Luca

Superhero Name: Double Trigger

Age: 16

Appearance: A tall girl with wavy brown hair that reaches her shoulder and green eyes. Her skin is slightly brown in color. She has a slim yet well-built physique.

Costume: A dark blue duster and matching cowboy hat. A black tank top with matching black shorts. She wears brown leather gloves and boots. Finally, a red bandanna hung around her neck.

Personality:

Powers: Antonia is an alchemist whose specialty is enhancing various items with magic and elemental power. She does this by carving elaborate runes on the objects and reciting magical chants. While she can do this to various objects, such as arrows or throwing knives, she feels most comfortable with enchanted bullets and ammo because of their versatility.

Gear: A huge fan of spaghetti westerns as well as Mad Max movies, Antonia puts up a hardboiled wanderer imagery, though she is in fact more goofy than badass. She chews a lollipop instead of a cigarette, speaks stock cowboy phrases in a gruff voice and thick Italian accents, and acts like a lone wanderer. In reality she is geeky and friendly, and she is a huge fan of anime and video games. There is one genuinely dark aspect of her personality, however, in that she is obsessed with the ideas of street justice and vendetta, which she plays dead straight. She behaves brutally towards enemies who have brought her to a breaking point, and she can hold grudges for an extremely long amount of time.

  • The Doppio Drago, an enchanted shotgun. The shotgun is double-barreled and had its barrels and stock sawed off so it could fit into a holster on her thigh. The shotguns enchantment is fairly basic, as it simply prevents other people than her from pulling the trigger, and reduces recoil so it doesn't break her arm when she uses it one-handed.

  • She wears a bandolier full of shotgun shells. Each shell is enchanted with an element or attribute, such as ice, fire, acid. Some shells even contains healing mist that can patch up someone and stop their bleeding, but it's a temporary solution at best. Each shell can magically fly into the chambers of her gun after she ejects the empty shells.

  • Her transportation is a motorcycle, which she calls the Iron Mare. it is not enchanted, and is just a regular motorcycle.

Weaknesses: Typical human weaknesses. Anything that can kill a human can kill her. Her shotgun also has the typical low rate of fire even with the magic reloading shells.

Background:

Etc: Anything you can think of that doesn't fit into the other categories.

Real Name: Beatrice Bianca
Superhero Name: Timetwister
Age: Tragically 15
Appearance: Tall and slender in that awkward teenage way with short-cropped hair and sparkling blue eyes. Her preferred garb is some manner of militaristic uniform with an armored jacket and heavy boots with for some reason metal soles. The clothing fits awkwardly, being larger than her frame can fit.
Costume: Until an alternate option is presented, the same ill-fitting uniform.
Personality: Cold and serious, Beatrice holds fast to a set of personal beliefs that bear some twisted resemblance to a heroic code. As part of this commitment to her beliefs, she tries to suppress expressing emotions in front of others while still in an almost robotic way speaking her mind when relevant.

The events leading to her arrival in this era seem to have destabilized her somewhat. While she tries to keep a tight leash on her emotions, numerous factors give a sad tint to her attempts. Some may even consider her dedication to a heroic ideal of morality and sacrifice a little bit self-destructive.
Powers:

  • Limited Metalkinesis: Beatrice's sole power, an ability to impart force on metal within a short (read: melee) range of her body. Given the limitations, she prefers to use it on her own equipment; adding additional force to her sword strikes, velocity to her bullets or even using the power on the soles of her boots to slide or boost up her jumps.
Gear:
  • A large, straight-edged sword.
  • A chunky firearm with limited magazine capacity that fires over-sized bullets of a nonstandard caliber. Without assistance from her powers, the range is very limited. When she arrived in this era, there was only one round left in the clip.
Background: The year was 7057, humanity had been driven to the edge of destruction by threats of metal and dark. And in this time of desperation Beatrice Bianca acted as a member of New Saint Academy undertaking missions to eliminate threats and recover lost artifacts. On one of these missions something ancient and powerful was reclaimed, something whose power was so easily tilted out of balance in a cascade that sent Beatrice spiraling into the void.

When she awoke, everything was different; a world at peace, a world where humanity still held dominion over Earth, a world where the terrible millennia had yet to happen. But she herself was scarred by the travel, her body now out of sync with the age of her mind. She went to find the only thing she could think of as an anchor: she went and tried to gain admission to Saint Academy so she could prevent the dark future she had come from.
Etc: Beatrice often finds herself frustrated with the limits of human physiology, compounding further onto the stresses that come with this vast change in context. She also keeps a fondness for dresses and other artifacts of beauty well-hidden out of a concern such things would jeopardize her goals on a practical level.

It's clearly a case of backroom political albumizing.

Well, I'll probably need to make some adjustments here or there, but hopefully this is a good framework/start. Gotta work on a background but it should be done soon enough. >.<

  • Real Name: Lee Sivril (real name, Lee Spavari}
  • Superhero Name: Supercharged Electron!
  • Age: 14.
  • Appearance: "I don't actually need glasses, but..." That's pretty much it. Just usually in a more positive mood, wears fancy dress shoes and pants and stands at 5 feet exactly.
  • Costume: "All that's missing is a cape!"
  • Personality: Despite his age, Lee tries to carry himself with a surprising amount of maturity, if potentially coming across bit too formal and polite. That...tends to fall quickly if he's praised (which typically makes him flustered) or if he's around friends where it doesn't take much for his rather energetic, friendly and positive attitude to shine through. Can be...a little naive and can be...a little oblivious sometimes.
  • Powers: Living Battery: Like you might guess by the name, Lee is able to absorb and store several types of energy like a battery, whether it's physical contact or continued exposure to it. This is...usually harmless, but not always. As an extension of that, he can transfer that type of energy into another object whether to charge it up or even act as living conduit/circuit breaker or simply use the energy in a creative way depending on what type of energy it is. Since he's still coming to grips with all of this, his means of using it are rather basic for the time being and...has certain limitations.

    • Kinetic: Since Lee's not much of a fighter, he uses any stored up kinetic energy to either give himself a quick burst of momentum when running or essentially double-jumps in midair. Applying it to object while giving something a push and causing it to go flying with a lot of force. Alternatively, he can create a small blast with REALLY SHORT range that'd have enough kinetic force to stop most projectiles in their tracks or push someone away to give him a little bit of breathing room...although this takes a lot more energy compared to if he actually pushed them away physically.

    • Thermal: At the moment, storing energy of this type is...very mundane and simply either super-heating something/cooking it or very passively accelerating along with not being as bothered by hot temperatures or fire compared to most folks (although near full charge, it becomes fairly uncomfortable) but he'll still get burnt if he's not careful. It's more of a slow and passive use of this sort of energy, so if he uses this sort of effect, he won't run out of charge too quickly.

    • Electrical: Aside from being able to kick-start or overload anything that'd be powered by electricity or touching a fence/metallic door to make the next person to touch it a nasty shock...Lee's still trying to figure out else he can do with this aspect of his power. Understandably, the energy he needs to power up/overload anything electrical can vary, so the amount of stored up charge he needs to make it work varies as well.

    • ...Again, while there's potential for other types of energies, Lee's unaware or unsure how to tap into those yet and as mentioned earlier, there are limitations, with him being unable to convert one type of energy to another just yet, meaning he can really only hold onto one type and either has to use it, charge up a dead battery to return to a neutral state...or simply suffer the full effects of whatever energy's been thrown his way. There's also the fact he's not completely immune to the effects and will typically have to take hits to get charged up unless he has a battery/energy source nearby.

  • Gear: As you might've seen in the costume, the metallic looking harness is to help monitor his vitals, and helps cushion some impacts. The multiple pockets on his outfit hold various types of batteries to either give Lee a quick burst of energy if he needs it or in the event it's necessary to have a certain type of charge NOW. Alternatively, he charge them up instead. And the armlet and gloves are essentially a limiter for when he's not on a mission so he doesn't accidentally give someone a sudden heat spike or shock. As for the goggles, like his glasses, mostly there for the sake of aesthetics. In practical terms, to shield his eyes from bright lights, dust storms and whatnot.

  • Background: The eldest child of the 'Sivril' family and current heir to his family's business and fortune, the most he's allowed to say is that he hails from some part of Europe and being quite far from home as a result.

For most of his life growing up, Lee had a relatively mundane and uneventful childhood, either being tutored, learning about the family business...or tagging along on his parents business trips whether they were throughout Europe or to America, things took an interesting swerve when he accidentally caused a power outage for the entire hotel they were staying at.

The idea his parents had of Lee having a power they could study and potentially harness quickly wore off as it was clear he didn't know how to control it or the fact far worse accidents could happen to himself...or extension, his family and their reputation. As a result Lee was eventually enrolled into the Academy not long after the incident with a fake last name to hopefully draw away unwanted attention.

  • Etc: While nowhere near as smart as some, it doesn't stop Lee from scribbling down ideas or drawings for gadgets, gear, anything that he thinks would be 'cool'. Has...quite the sweet-tooth and enjoys cooking, especially desserts.

[up][up]Accepted.

Nick threw his hat into the ring, so I guess I'm throwing mine. Between the two of us, we can probably make this work.

  • Real Name: Sue Wukong
  • Superhero Name: Monkey Queen
  • Age: 16
  • Appearance: Monkey girl ready for action. Stands at 5'8.
  • Costume: Doesn't have one yet. Goes with whatever she's wearing.
  • Personality: Sue is wild, wily, fun-loving, rambunctious, curious, arrogant, and stubborn as all hell. A tenacious rambler, she does whatever she wants whenever she wants, regardless of what anyone else tells her or expects of her. She is capable of following orders, but whoever's giving them has to earn or command her respect before that can happen. She does have a more insecure side. One that isn't sure if she's doing the right thing. But it never bothers her for too long, or if it does she tries not to show it. She's also rather temperamental, quick to anger and quick to judge. But she's also quick to make friends, and eager to make them. And she'll stick by her friends to the end. (Assuming they don't stab her in the back.) She also has her own sense of justice. An eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth. If someone's done wrong to her or people she cares about, she'll do wrong back. Or perhaps worse.
  • Powers: Sue has all the natural abilities of a monkey, albeit enhanced to human proportions. She has great strength and speed as well as incredible agility and dexterity, and that along with her tail and hands-for-feet opens up a lot of options. She can also heal somewhat faster than humans, though not to the point where she can replace an entire chunk of flesh in seconds. Additionally, as part of her heritage running back generations, she can make clones of herself from hairs on her body, though only up to two at a time. Any more and the last clone she made is replaced.
  • Gear: Sue possesses a long red staff that has been in her family for generations, though she barely used it until she ventured out into the world. Aside from being a useful weapon, she can also extend its' reach to the point where she can attack foes from a long distance. She can also use it to summon up a magic cloud that she can use to fly, though it often has a tendency to want to go west. Which is something she's never quite been able to figure out.
  • Backstory: Sue was born and raised in a jungle in the heart of China, and it was there that she learned most of her general values. This all changed after a smartphone fell out of a plane by accident and dropped right on her head. After reeling from the impact, her curiosity got the better of her and she examined the phone, and couldn’t take her eyes off it. There was so much there that she didn’t understand. Books, tv shows, movies, pictures of cities the world over and more. Some in her position might have tossed the phone away, unable to deal with the sheer insanity of it all. But Sue was a different story. To the contrary, she was enraptured.
    • With that, Sue made up her mind. Summoning her Nimbus, she soared off to the west to see what was out there. She eventually ended up in California, choosing a spot to land completely at random. Once she touched ground, she was nearly overwhelmed, the culture shock briefly spooking her before she got her bearings. Her small amount of common sense told her she needed to start small, even if she hated the idea. Soon after, she saw an ad for Saint Academy on a flashy billboard. With nowhere else to go, she headed over and enrolled the first chance she got. Besides, it looked like fun!
  • Etc: Sue enjoys intense action flicks and wacky comedies. There are a number of other things that she has only recently learned about and is just starting to get used to, which is something she'll have to work on.
    • Sue is also an experienced and resilient fighter, hunter, and survivalist seeing as survival of the fittest is the rule of the land in her enclave, and one has to take care of one's self.

I decided to make a character for a superhero RP. I tried my best to not make her too OP, but if you think she is, tell me and I'll nerf her.

  • Real Name: Clio Vargas
  • Superhero Name: Herodotus
  • Age: 15
  • Appearance:
    • She has olive-colored skin, amber eyes; and messy, curly brown hair that's usually worn in dual buns.
    • She often wears a tan-colored sweater with tight black pants and gray-framed glasses.
    • She's around 5'1 feet tall and is on the chubbier side.
  • Costume: She has different costumes depending on which historical spirit she's channeling (read more below), but the default costume is a bright yellow skintight bodysuit and a golden domino mask.
  • Personality:
    • Clio is quite shy and is not the best at getting social cues but is more open and sociable with family and close friends.
    • She is also determined to achieve her goals (such as helping others and mastering the Historic Bounding ritual) no matter what, even it does cost her a lot. Going off that, she is very good at focusing on something but at the cost of not being able to multitask well.
    • She's quite knowledgeable about history as a whole and is passionate about the topic.
    • She's also quite clumsy and often apologizes for anyone she bumps into and the mistakes she makes. It doesn't help the fact that Clio is still training how to control her abilities and thus can lose control over them (especially when channeling Nobunaga's spirit).
    • Clio would occasionally get homesick as she misses her native Sweden but knows that the Saint Academy is the best place for her at the moment, thus she tries to stay positive.
  • Powers:
    • Historic Bounding: Through this ritual, Clio has the ability to channel the spirits of historical figures through chanting their names and marking ancient runes in their biographies, which will grant her special abilities, skills weapons, and give her new clothes (i.e if she manages to channel Napoléon Bonaparte, she'll be given a bayonet, advanced marksmanship, extra strength, and fancy French Revolutionary soldier clothes). However, the process is often unpredictable and dangerous, so she often uses these three historical figures that have proven to be rather reliable. She can't switch spirits when she's channeling one and the gifted abilities last around an hour or so before disappearing.
      • Last Stand at Thermopylae (Leonidas I): Grants her a spear, large shield (that's very durable), enhanced strength and durability. Mostly a Jack of All Stats kit though the combat capabilities are almost exclusively close-range.
      • Maiden of Orleans (Jeanne d'Arc): Grants her a sword and shield. She also gets visions that'll help locate injured civilians and fellow heroes. Her shouts/chants can increase the strength and morale of her teammates. Mostly a support with high defense and despite the sword, she's not good at attacking and is kinda slow with the armor and all.
      • Demon Lord (Oda Nobunaga): Grants her a matchlock musket, a sword, advanced weapon mastery (namely guns and swords) enhanced speed and strength. She also has a form of pyrokinesis that'll let her set fires and burn her enemies with gunfire and slash at them with her sword. While arguably the most powerful of the three kits, it also has some major flaws, mainly that in this form, she's a speedy Glass Cannon that'll be taken out by a decently powerful hit. Next, if she isn't careful, Clio may lose control of the fires that she creates, which will burn everything in its path, and she tends to be worn out easily in this form and may pass out from it. If she doesn't, then she'll be sleeping for a while once the abilities expire. This is why she only channels Oda Nobunaga's spirit for emergencies and very tough villains.
      • Due to how often Clio channels these three spirits, they'll occasionally visit her in her dreams, commenting on whatever situation she's in and offering advice, albeit due to the three having wildly different personalities that conflict with each other, they will debate on things.
  • Gear:
    • Clio carries a satchel with her. The said satchel carries biography books based around Leonidas, Jeanne d'Arc, and Nobunaga.
    • Alongside that, she also has ancient rune chalk, which she uses to channel the historic spirits.
  • Background:
    • Clio comes from a long line of Scandinavian mages that have been channeling historical spirits to gain magical abilities to protect the innocent for centuries - a ritual called "Historic Bounding''
    • However, Clio wasn't exactly suitable for the technique. While she did train, her body and mind weren't ready for the process. While it was still dangerous in general, it was even more so for her and she almost died performing the ritual at one point.
    • Despite that, Clio still tried and tried to master the ritual. Eventually, she'll find the three historical spirits that proved to be reliable and usually don't harm her immediately (Leonidas I, Jeanne d'Arc, and Oda Nobunaga). Excited at the progress, she right away showed off to her father. She channeled Nobunaga's spirit and uses the pyrokinetic ability that came with it. However, as she focused more on finding spirits she can reasonably channel without dying than honing the abilities they gave her, she almost burned her village down.
    • Thankfully, her father channels the spirit of a famous explorer that gave him hydrokinesis to take out the fire. He then scolded her for continuing to do the ritual despite the risks and her lack of control. Clio rebutted that she only wanted to continue the family line and use the ritual to help others.
    • After talking it over with other family members, Clio's father decided that she'll be allowed to master the ritual as long she trains to be a hero at Saints Academy. Clio agrees to this and packs up her things to move to Super City to become a student/hero-in-training. All the while, the three historic spirits she now channels regularly watch over her.
  • Etc:
    • Clio's ancestors came from all over Scandinavia but in recent generations, decided to stick to Sweden. She is also part Columbian through her mother who originally just wanted to visit Sweden but ended up falling in lover with her father.
    • The three historical spirits she channels have different motivations for being so compliant in the Historic Bounding ritual:
      • Leonidas loves the fighting and training that comes from the ritual and hopes to make Clio a strong warrior.
      • Jeanne aligns with Clio's motivations to master the ritual as she also wants to help others, thus she genuinely wants to assist Clio.
      • Nobunaga is apparently bored with the afterlife and goes along with Clio channeling him for the lols.

  • Real Name: Kana Yoshino
  • Superhero Name: Ronin
  • Age: 16
  • Appearance: Seen here. Notable for being very tall (6'6") and having heterochromia.
  • Costume: She wears the suit of armor seen in the background of her art.
  • Personality: Kana is someone who doesn’t care too much about rules and has a pretty typical rebellious streak you might expect to see from a teenager. She enjoys fighting, though she tries to keep that impulse in check since it has gotten her into trouble in the past. She notably did not grow up caring that much about superheroes in general, though she does believe in protecting the weak from the strong who lord their power over them.
  • Powers:
    • Superhuman Physicality: Kana has exceptional speed and dexterity, able to perform very impressive maneuvers with relative ease. She’s by no means a slouch when it comes to strength either, being far stronger and tougher than any normal human.
    • Vengeful Soul: Kana has a very high tolerance for pain, and being injured boosts her speed and strength during the course of a fight. This is represented visually as a dark purple aura that surrounds Kana’s body.
    • She also has an accelerated healing factor. It’s not exceptionally quick compared to some other heroes, but it has kept her in good shape after many fierce brawls.
  • Gear:
    • Hikari: A specially made katana that’s durable enough for superheroic situations. It’s capable of making ranged attacks in the form of energy beams that are released with each swing. When Vengeful Soul is active, the strength of these beams increases proportionately.
  • Background: Kana was raised by a Yakuza member and spent much of her life without a lot of positive role models. As a child she would commit minor acts of delinquency like petty theft, but as her powers developed she started getting bolder. Eventually she started trying to fight rival gangs that were opposed to her father and began asking him if she could join the “family business”, so to speak. This alarmed him, and he immediately shut down that possibility, as he wasn’t eager to see his only daughter walk down such a dangerous path.

Though she wasn’t particularly enthused at first, she moved to America at her parent’s discretion and began attending Saint Academy, as that school was said to be a place where Supers could be given more direction and purpose.

  • Etc: N/A
