Pokemon Mystery dungeon: Multiverse rescue team

The world of pokemon is on the edge of disaster as multiple pokemon are being affected by a strange and unknown psychic force that is turning peaceful pokemon into mindless and violent beasts, to solve the situation the pokemon society has developed rescue teams in order to help out the pokemon that end up endengered by these feral pokemon, but they seem to be capable of doing much more that treat the syptoms rather that find the source of the disease and cure it, so in desperation Arceus, the god pokemon, decided to summon legendart heroes from other dimensions in a desperate attempt to save his beloved children, as they changed realities they lost their original apperance in order to adapt to the rules of the pokemon world, so now they're all a species of pokemon as well, if they want to return home, they will have to find the source of the pokemon madness disease and put a stop to it once and for all.

A few rules I want to set before hand for anyone tha tmay want to singup:

1- The character that you chose has to be a hero or at least an antihero, villains will only be npcs in this rp.

2-The pokemon they turn into has to be in their first form, they can evolve later but they have to do it either by gaining experience or by realizing the ritual necessary for it to evolve.

3- All pokemon are optional except legendaries, those will not be acepted.

4-The character can retain the abilities they had in their own universe if it's inherent in them, like for example Ryu's ki in street fighter, but they will not be able to carry it over if it's something unique to their universe like for example the force in Star wars.

5- you're allowed to play multiple characters if you desire.

6- Shinies or odd colored pokemon are allowed.

7- The characters can be from a preexisting canon or totally original if you want.

8- Have fun and try to be creative.

PERSONALITY: He's an arrogant and snarky jerk who always enjoys showing off and get attention, despite that, he has a strong sense of justice and is willing to risk his life in order to protect others, especially his family, he's not very smart and often makes bad jokes and hits on ladies which ends up annoying both enemies and friends.

ORIGIN STORY: Johnny Cage is a hollywood superstar who stars in movies of questionably quality but of high financial sucess, despite this his critics often critisized his fighting abilities claiming that they were nothing but bad special effects, to prove them wrong, he joined a fighting tournement known as mortal kombat which ended up being a highly dangerous competition that would decided the fate of the earth against another world known as outworld, in the tournement he proved his legitimate fighting skills and also genuine heroism and bravery to the point that he was accepted by Raiden, the god of thunder, as one of the defenders of Earthrealm.

ABILITIES: he's a master of multiple martial arts and in the use of firearms and heavy machinery, Johnny posses inherent superhuman abilities given to him by his green aura which makes him superstrong and capable of propulsing himself forward and of throwing energy blasts.

POKEMON MOVES: Aura Sphere, Double team, Mega punch, Mega Kick.

REASON WHY ARCEUS CHOSE THEM: Despite his arrogance and sillyness, He has proven himself to be a brave and noble at heart hero that will do the right thing and fight the good fight when the times comes to shove and as future timelines have shown, he has shown to be able to mature incredibly well after enough time.

NAME OF THE CHARACTER: Briya Cadore

UNIVERSE OF ORIGIN: Magicka

THEIR ORIGINAL APPERANCE:

Image is ref for robe color. She wears an army helmet on her head that's over her hood. A dark green vest hides a bulletproof vest. Wears dark green gloves and military boots. Under the robe she's wearing a long sleeve shirt and pants. Her belt is brown and holds various utility items. Has a brown shoulder strap bag with the bag on her right side, and strap is across her chest as to ensure it's secure. Said bag is a hammerspace and holds lots of things, including items bigger than the bag itself.

A light green fairy (alas Legend of zelda visually) follows her at all times. Doubles as a revive if she dies alone...

Her "staff" is a sniper rifle, and her "melee weapon" is a semiautomatic rifle. She's the sniper for her gaggle and general gun nut and tech person.

THEIR POKEMON FORM: Ralts but with green irises and visibly darker "hair" shade wise. The pink thing sticking out of her head is dark green (about #053612). Body is still white.

PERSONALITY: Smart and paranoid define her. She's smart and paranoia has kept her alive given she's normally surrounded by insane idiots (aka normal magicka wizards). Strategizing is something she's good at and going with the flow of whatever her mind is at insane or sane. Heavily favoring being sane, she has inherent insanity due to being a wizard and she actively fights this. Despite this, she's a good person at heart, but it's really hard to tell.

ORIGIN STORY: Born in the world of Magicka, she defies what a normal magicka wizard is like. Born with magic and has trained as well as experience using it. She enlisted in the army and that's where she got her gun training and other skills. Being much sneaker than expected for a wizard due to her sniper training, she's a war vet who has proven how tough she is. Overall, a survivor in a world of powerful idiots.

ABILITIES: Magicka magic. In simple terms: 8 elements, 5 element combos, some elements cancel each other out, some combine. Specific element combos can be cast as spells. Depending on the elements in the casting, different outcomes are cast. There's a catch and that is their magic affects EVERYONE equally friend, foe and self alike. Friendly fire is expected unless the caster actively tries to avoid it. This is powerful magic that has no regard for who it hits, and does not discriminate target wise. A double edged sword.

Being a war vet, she is also trained as a sniper and thus is capable of using firearms as well. It's rather telling that her guns are less likely to cause friendly fire than her magic...

POKEMON MOVES: psychic, thief, safeguard, disarming voice

REASON WHY ARCEUS CHOSE THEM: Despite her... tendency to cause chaos and more issues in her wake, she genuinely tries to do good. The good in her is why Arceus chose her. She WILL do her best to be a hero when she can, even if there's a bit of trouble and issues that show up along the way.

Can we choose, if we wanted to, not have a Pokemon ability? For example, I am thinking of the Slaking line but don't want Truant.

Sure you don't have to keep that ability if you don't want it.

I do have a character in mind, though of course they're more of an anti-hero(at this point).

A personal interpretation of Shao Kahn after a while. Basically now "heroic"(so to speak), starting as a Nidoran(Male).

I'm not sure if that would be okay. But that's my first core idea.

^a bit of an odd pick but if you say that he's at least antiheroic I think it can work, it would be interesting to see the friction between Johnny cage and a shao kahn trying to achieve redemption.

Yeah, it'd work better if he wasn't already fully heroic, since it gives for more actual development.

That, and a Nidoran(Male) isn't exactly some super powerful Pokemon anyway, so it's not like he has anywhere close to his usual powers. I'll have to figure out what to transfer over for his actual characterization first. I'll probably post another post after this to keep it all in one spot, perhaps.

...I didn't even read your character before I asked about Shao Kahn. Heh. But it's good to know, since mine takes the movie itself into account, as he's a mishmash of continuities.

Well that's gonna get confusing since Johnny cage died on that continuety, maybe we could establish that the two come from different universes, and so they have no idea of how either one of them have change, considering that they're not gonna have their original appearences, they probably won't notice immediatly who each other is, maybe Johnny ends up assuming Shao kahn is a girl becasue the male nidoran is pink and tries to flirt with "her"

Well, mine is already an alternate take on the character. So it's already an alternate continuity, yeah~ Them not knowing each other makes sense, due to that. And being Shao Kahn is heterosexual, that'll be kind of funny.

• Original Appearance: He's pretty dark, yep◊
• Pokemon Form: Nidoran (Male)
• Personality: Shao Kahn is a man with a booming voice, a lot of cheese, and a fair amount of ego. He has however mellowed out over the years, no longer being actually evil. He's still a bit prone to violence if he is dishonored, but tries to hold back even then. He also values family above all else. Shao Kahn isn't the nicest man ever, but he does mean well.
• Background of Origin: Shao Kahn comes from the original movieverse, being a soul stealer who attempted to take over Earthrealm(though failed miserably when defeated by Liu Kang). Shang Tsung, his previous "minion" has since been resurrected, while both Liu Kang and Shao Kahn(though an impostor was there instead) were killed by Quan Chin and Shang Tsung some time later. This led to Liu Kang being resurrected as a zombie by a darker version of his own brother, Raiden. Shang Tsung is also no longer his ally, but his mortal enemy. Shao Kahn now seeks to redeem himself, always having his family in mind to protect. In addition, Baraka has since ruled Outworld in his stead with his girlfriend, Mileena by his side, with Prince Goro ruling Edenia with his husband, Prince Rain.
• Abilities: Shao Kahn has quite a few moves in his arsenal, including rush attacks, the ability to summon his weapon(his Wrath Hammer) or a Spear of Light. He also can fire off a green energy projectile and use soul-stealing abilities. He no longer works with soul magic, however, as he has changed his ways. He is still capable of it, as well as releasing souls, of course.

• Pokemon Moves: Thief, Focus Energy, Body Slam, Substitute
• Why Arceus chose him: Despite his wrongdoings in the past, Shao Kahn has time and time again fought on the side of good, to rid the world of true evil, now defending Earthrealm from vile villains(including Shang Tsung). He's not the nicest man around, but in the end he means will.

Done. I didn't use any moves he couldn't learn normally(otherwise Taunt and perhaps Shadow Punch would be there). Thief might be easier to change out, though.

(Sorry this took so very long; I've been kinda swamped lately, and this is the first day in who knows how long that I've had a chance to write this up.)

NAME OF THE CHARACTER: Mustrum Ridcully

UNIVERSE OF ORIGIN: Discworld

THEIR ORIGINAL APPERANCE: "Well done, that man!"◊

THEIR POKEMON FORM: A Pancham whose black fur is graying somewhat due to his age. He chews very intently on his leaf in place of a pipe and is rather annoyed at the absence of tobacco in the Pokemon world. He still has his wizard hat, which he keeps a number of items in (he claims this is because even Arceus is too scared to separate a wizard from his hat, but this is doubtful).

PERSONALITY: A stubborn, loud, gluttonous, boisterous old wizard with a heart of gold and a mind of cold steel. He may appear stupid at first, but he's in fact very intelligent, and understands a lot more than he lets on, though his mind is very hard to change, and metaphors and similes distract him. Unlike most wizards, he's also physically fit, and thinks that all everybody needs is some good exercise, to get up at the crack of dawn, and a team spirit. He can be manipulative when he wants or needs to be, and he shouts rather a lot, but under it all is an exceptionally loyal and good-hearted man.

ORIGIN STORY: He's an accomplished Discworld wizard who was chosen as Archchancellor of Unseen University because he lived in the countryside and therefore the wizards assumed he was the sort that talks to birds in soft voices, wears brown and reveres mother nature (y'know, a push over). Hoo boy, were they wrong. He soon whipped the University into shape, and ended the wizarding practice of assassinating other wizards in order to move up in rank, due to the fact that no one could kill him. He has defended the Disc on many occasions, using his wits, his staff (he whacks things with it), the occasional magic spell, and of course yelling at other wizards until they solve the problem for him (although he usually has to do things himself eventually). He's also saved the humans of Roundworld (basically our real world, which in Discworld canon was a project created by wizards to see what a world with no magic would be like) a couple of times.

ABILITIES: Discworld magic. Discworld magic is much less flexible than the magic used by Briya, the team's other resident spellcaster - on the Disc, each wizard has a certain number of spells prepared at any given time, and to create a new spell requires a lot of dangerous research, which Ridcully has no interest in performing. Furthermore, each prepared spell can be cast a limited number, and to prepare more spells requires intensive study. In other words, it's not exactly practical most of the time. (I'm... not 100% sure that he should have this, just because I'm not sure if Disc magic is inherent to Discworld or to the caster.)

Somewhat more usefully, he's very strong, and when things come down to a fight, he generally starts with a few whacks from his staff rather than pulling out any magic. He's also an expert hunter, and generally in very good shape (his frankly insane eating habits notwithstanding). He keeps a crossbow, among other things, in his hat.

POKEMON MOVES: Tackle, Leer, Arm Thrust, Circle Throw

REASON WHY ARCEUS CHOSE THEM: Ridcully may be exceedingly stubborn and not exactly open to new ideas, but he usually tries to do the right thing, is very brave, never leaves a comrade behind, and simply will not stop trying at something until he gets the outcome he wants. (With this lineup, though, one almost starts to wonder if Arceus wants his team of heroes to be incredibly unsubtle and loud.)
