They aren't forgetting the anime, Utonium got his name from it.
According to TV Line, the project is still alive in redevelopment.
I am assured that The CW’s live-action adaptation of the Powerpuff Girls, after coming in last spring “too campy” (and which definitely no longer costars Chloe Bennet), is still in some stage of redevelopment.
Revived the thread as a contrast to the previous post, Because Tv Line is now reporting a year later that its dead.
Watch SymphogearFffffffffff-
Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).Your Perogative, but for me, it's a win.
In the words of M Bison, YES!:
But honestly, After the pilot originally leaked, it wouldn't surprise me if the backlash caused it to be cancelled right there and then, but CW held off on making it official before whatever contract they had run out.

Watch SymphogearDamn shame, I wanted to see this be a disaster.
The CW had a change of management at some point in between updates, so it's less surprising with that in mind.
It's a shame that we didn't get to see it since it sounds like Riverdale combined with Arrowverse.
“Boom! Boomboom! Boomboomboom! Bakuage Tire! Gogogo!"...I feel uncomfortable with this.
Either way, the idea was a slap in the face to McCracken and his work so I'm glad it's totally dead.
I will say this the idea of a grown up Bubbles, Blossom and Buttercup dealing with the trauma of their childhood is I think an idea ripe with potential... but whatever that script was was not fucking it. Craig McCracken did express some interest in it beforehand, and considering he wasn't even involved I don't think that was contractually obligated interest.
You can only write so much in your forum signature. It's not fair that I want to write a piece of writing yet it will cut me off in the midYeah. I could totally see an older Powerpuff Girls series continuing the superhero parody by having the girls be, like, burnt out ex-kid heroes with a lot of wry humor and such.
Maybe even something like Lucky Channel, with the kids being experienced professionals who are also kind of done with everyone's shit.
But definitely not sexy edgy Powerpuff Riverdale.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Yeah, I think Venture Bros. will always be the guidline for how to do these adult cartoon properties. I think if that show came out a bit later, they'd have a killer take on this.
I'm just glad this project is dead,Velma has shown us how bad adult reimaginings can be
but just to be on the safe bury it at the crossroads just to be safe
New theme music also a boxI'm honestly not surprised that this project ended up being cancelled. I guess they couldn't make a proper adult version of the Powerpuff Girls without going against everything the original stood for.
I love animation, TV, movies, YOU NAME IT!I had a suddenly feeling of dread when I saw this topic was active again and assumed it had been revived somehow
New theme music also a boxI think at this point, this forum should be closed since the show was canceled.
“Boom! Boomboom! Boomboomboom! Bakuage Tire! Gogogo!"Well, there are enough inactive threads still open. Although I doubt there'll be an actual topic of conversation in a good while, even if they announce they are gonna try again.
Wake me up at your own risk.Eh, leave it open. There are lots of projects that have been in and out of Development Hell.
"They'll be back....with pizza"
Whoever owns The Powerpuff Girls franchise now does everything in its power to forget The Ocean Group was ever involved in the said franchise. Why?! At least, I hope Jodelle Ferland replaces Chloe Bennet as Blossom.
