CW's Powerpuff Girls

They might be making a shitton of money from Riverdale, but this *is* the same network that gave us the well-regarded Jane the Virgin and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. Someone on that board has sense.

A little aside: I was watching Schmigadoon!, a musical comedy series that homages old-timey musicals. Dove Cameron plays the "Ado Annie"-type character who looks like this, and while she was entertaining I just kept being reminded that she was probably supposed to play live-action Bubbles similarly :P.

It's honestly like a perfect casting tbh.

To this shows credit.

They better not get rid of Ms. Bellum here like they did in the 2016 reboot. On that note, who do you think will play Ms. Bellum if she's a recurring character here?

I'm at the very least expecting a minor costume change to make Bellum less sexualized, like wearing pants instead of a skirt.

They could just make the skirt longer.

Casting is rarely an issue with CW shows. It's everything else.

As a reminder, Ms. Bellum is played by Robyn Lively for this project. While the pilot is undergoing some changes, nothing has been said about the casting being altered.

Chloe Bennet is no longer playing Blossom.

When the lead actress leads after a failed pilot attempt, the odds of the show making it to series are at least cut by 25%.

Maybe we'd get lucky and it would be one of those things so horrible that it'd be cancelled after like, one episode.

Then again the CW would probably put it on their streaming service (do they have one of those?) anyway.

If the leaked script was legit then I don't blame her, it all just sounds terrible.

CW stuff goes to HBO Max since they're a Warner-owned network, and they're using a Warner-owned property.

Yes, that, but CW not only had their free on demand website, but also "CW Seed" for mostly random 2000-10s Warner Bros-produced content with a few originals. (The animated DC content like Vixen, Constantine: City of Demons, and Deathstroke: Knights & Dragons originally came from there.)

That being said, I highly doubt Powerpuff will end up there too.

hopefully it never gets filmed so it stays firmly in the realm of What Could Have Been

That first pilot is somewhere, on someone’s hard drive. Maybe one day.

I mean, aside from not liking the idea of losing anything forever (even if it is a garbage fire), I'd at least would have liked to see how bad the pilot was after reading the script, at least out of Bile Fascination

It is my sincere hope that the show doesn't make it to series, but the pilot gets reviewed by someone so we can all have a laugh, like at Wonder Woman: Pants to be Darkened.

I hope the upcoming live-action Powerpuff show gets filmed in Vancouver, where the Canadian dub of Powerpuff Girls Z was dubbed.

It’s being filmed in Atlanta, something increasingly common as Georgia woos productions over with tax credits and the like.
