Bucky's Tavern, Little Sunbeam - Kason Volena, monster hunter.
Kason glanced back over his shoulder with a bit of a surprised look, then grinned as Dusty approached. "My old instructor would be choking up hairballs if he saw me right now; he was a cat person, you see. Still, under the circumstances I'd be happy for you to come along mister-" Kason stalled a moment, a look of realization coming across his face. "Oh, I'm terribly sorry, I never asked for your name" the monster hunter added, embarrassed.

"Name's Dustdevil. Most people just call me Dusty, though."
Enough death. Enough life."Hey... are you sure about this?" Bill says to Ben. "You're so young to be risking your life like that..."

"Well, I'm Kason Volena; just Kason is fine" Kason replied to Dusty with a hand held out to offer a handshake, before looking back to the other conversation. Kason frowned slightly as he thought it through. "It could be dangerous, but we definitely can't take someone with a broken leg. If you brothers are set to have one of you come along, there's only one choice" the monster hunter commented to the two vumas, and motioned to Ben.
You are reading this."Don't worry," Ben says to Bill. "This is the opportunity I've been waiting for all my life! Besides, like... Heidi, I think your name was?... said, I won't be alone. You hear that, Ed?"
Ed is silent for a few seconds before speaking. "You promise you'll be safe?"
"Cross my heart!"
Ed sighs. "Alright." He looks around at the others. "Please... stay with him. He can be a real handful, but he's still my brother."

"He'll be in good hands" Kason said to Ed, then looked back and forth at the others. "Well, now would be a good time for stocking up on supplies before we go" the monster hunter suggested to them, before asking, "where can I find information on other towns in this area?"
You are reading this.I just got here. Yer probably gonna hafta ask someone else about that. (Heidi says.)
(She looks to the others.) You fellers know anywhere we can do that? I'm not that familiar with the towns around here.

"Pardon me, that extremely loud and extremely deep voice you may have just heard. It was me. Oh, it is such a long story..."Dusty clears his "throat" to get everyone's attention.
"Town nearby. A bit hidden, but it's only a couple 'ah hours away. Called Grimmsvale. Good place, but I dunno if our monster hunter friend here will be happy about it."
Enough death. Enough life.Bucky's Tavern, Little Sunbeam - Kason Volena, monster hunter.
Kason was a bit disappointed about the lack of direct answers, but what Dusty said got the monster hunter to pause and think. Between a name like Grimmsvale and the information that he may not be happy about it, along with who mentioned it, it wasn't hard to imagine what that town was like. "Why do I have the feeling that whoever resides in Grimmsvale would be a lot less happy about me than I would be about them?" Kason asked, though it was mostly rhetorical. "How about where the nearest post office is? They would definitely have a map" the monster hunter suggested, then added, "does this town have one? Does Grimmsvale?"
You are reading this.Dusty shakes his head.
"As long as you keep yer line of work to yourself, everything should be fine."
He leans against the wall next to his table.
"And I'm sure this town has a post office, but I 'member Grimmsvale having one, too. Didn't live there, but it's where I woke up. Used to be the graveyard for a town around those parts. Necromancer strolled in one night, and now the yard's more alive than the town ever was."
Enough death. Enough life.Bucky's Tavern, Little Sunbeam - Kason Volena, monster hunter.
Kason glanced down at himself and his distinct monster hunter outfit for a moment. "I think they'd be able to tell. I don't have a change of clothes" Kason muttered after turning his head back up. I wonder if that necromancer had ill intentions. Could they even still be around? Dusty said he was raised over a decade ago; could be whoever did it is long gone by now Kason thought to himself, figuring right now was not the best time to be voicing these questions.
You are reading this."Well, I'd like to tag along too, if it's okay," says Bill. "I know we just met, but I just want to make sure all of you are all right. Plus, maybe I can be useful somehow."
A great Mascot Mook.So YER one of these folks who got necro-...manced or whatever the term is? (Heidi asks Dusty.) And there's a whole town of folks like ya? Dern, guess that just goes to show how much I know about this area.
Anyhoo, when do we git goin'? (She asks.)
"Pardon me, that extremely loud and extremely deep voice you may have just heard. It was me. Oh, it is such a long story..."Daniel runs up to everyone, panting and out of breath. "Holy fuck..." He continues gasping for air. "Sorry folks, boozed out back there. So, what's up? What're the happenings?" He wipes a bit of vodka off his outfit.
YOHOHO!Bucky's Tavern, Little Sunbeam - Kason Volena, monster hunter.
Kason looked at Bill. "I heard you say, you're a craftsman? Could be handy, as long as you know what you're in for" Kason commented, his attention then turning to the man suddenly running up out of breath. "Uh, we're getting a group together to go after Boss" the monster hunter informed him simply. Kason didn't notice the wisps in his lamp were swirling around more actively after Daniel had gotten close.
"We can leave this tavern any time now, but before we get on the road we better get prepared. I'll find the post office and get a map and any more information I can gather. We'll need some rides, maybe even a wagon. We may end up not being able to make a stop for a day or two, so we better have some supplies on hand so we don't starve out there, plus things like ammo and camping supplies. If we want this craftsman to be handy, he'll need materials he can work with" Kason part suggested and part instructed, mostly in response to Heidi. "Obviously you'll know best what to get for yourself" the monster hunter said to Bill, then added to the others, "the rest of you get on with something; I don't know which of you are good at picking out what so figure it out for yourselves. Let's meet back up in front of the tavern in no more than an hour." With that, Kason adjusted his hat and headed out the front doors to look for a post office.

The young girl listened to what the others say for a while now. Noticing Kason leaving, she looked at the others with a curious look.
"..huh. That seems interestin'. Tell you what. I'm joining this little adventure," she says as she adjusts her hat. "Might I ask what I can help y'all with?"

Daniel nods as he listens, seeming interested and intrigued. "Sounds like we got a plan. I'll worry 'bout weapons and ammo, I suppose. Lemme make one thing clear, though. No one touches my gear. Just keep your hands off my stuff and we won't have issues." He seems a lot more serious about this than he has been about pretty much anything else he had said. "Anyways, I'll be back in an hour I suppose." He started walking off, flipping his obsidian-black bowie knife in his hand. "If anyone wants a specific weapon, ya better come with. If not, I'll just grab whatever I can."
YOHOHO!Don't need a weapon. (Heidi says. She turns a bit so the others can see the revolver in the holster on her belt.) I'm already covered. Push comes to shove, I can just use my guitar, too. Wouldn't be the first time I've had to use it fer that.
"Pardon me, that extremely loud and extremely deep voice you may have just heard. It was me. Oh, it is such a long story...""I don't think my embalming tools would do y'all any good... unless you really do a number on those outlaws. And if you feel like doing a bunch of burials." Ed chuckles darkly.
"Still, I do have medical kits. You should probably bring those."
"Fine," says Ben, "but only for the others! There is no way I'm gonna let those guys hurt me!"
Ed rolls his eyes.
Burbank Frollo: the most hilariously ineffectual, unintimidating Frollo everDusty opens his longcoat, revealing that it's lined with all manner of knives and small firearms. There is also the added detail that there is no body to speak of inside the longcoat, despite there clearly being a body moving underneath it while it was closed.
"I think I'll be alright."
Enough death. Enough life.Daniel looks at Dusty, considering his assortment of weapons. "Y'know what? I like your style." He walks away, Eventually coming back about 50 minutes later with two sawed-off shotguns, five Derringers, a good twenty knives of various types, a Tommy gun, and boxes upon boxes of ammo for each, carrying them all in a construct of a wheelbarrow. He dumps all of it onto the ground, dismissing the construct and standing guard until everyone was ready. He was seemingly taking a liking to the tommy gun, inspecting it and pretending to shoot just about everyone who passed by.
YOHOHO!Outside the tavern, Little Sunbeam - Kason Volena, monster hunter.
Kason returned with a map after Daniel, not long after he had dismissed his construct, so Kason hadn't seen it. What he did see though was Daniel carelessly pointing a gun at people who he had no good reason to be pointing a gun at, which made Kason scowl with anger. He started to step forward to make a confrontation about it, but stopped as an idea came to him.
After his moment of thought, Kason had a small, simple smile and generally friendly look, as he drew his shotgun and casually aimed it right at Daniel's chest. The monster hunter didn't shoot, and he had his finger off the triggers, but nevertheless had a loaded weapon aimed right at the other man. Perhaps a bit of your own medicine will get you to stop acting like a jerk Kason thought to himself silently as he kept smiling gently.

Daniel immediately snapped his head to the direction of the monster hunter. "Ooh, wow, now that's the spirit!" He stepped forward calmly, putting his hand over the barrels and jabbing a derringer against Kason's jaw. "You want a shootout, you got one. I'll have my hand back within... what, two days?" He grinned, his eyes piercing and cold. "So shoot. I dare you." He shoved the derringer harder into Kason's jaw. "Or... we could all get along."
YOHOHO!
I'm game. (Heidi says, standing up.) I figure if we find this doctor, we'll find the other BOSS fellers we have a beef with, too. We'll show 'em!
(Then Ed expresses concern about Ben going with them.) Well, pardner, it wouldn't be like he'd be goin' out there by himself. (She points out to Ed.) He'll at least have us with him from the git-go, and...I dunno about everyone else, but I ain't about to let those varmints hurt someone else's siblin'.
