Name: Irvine Kinneas

Appearance: Portrait, in pre-rendered cutscene, Triple Triad card. Exeter.

Setting: Final Fantasy VIII

Powers:

  • Gunmanship: Irvine is an excellent gunman, having trained as one starting in his teenage years. He excels when using rifles and shotguns and is decently proficient with most other conventional guns, provided he's allowed enough practice with them. Concordia's more fantastical weapons are a question mark, of course, but as long as they have a recognizable trigger and barrel he can probably work out where to point the things.

    • Special Ammunition: Aside from normal bullets, Irvine is adept in the use of a wide range of other ammunition, from mundane armor-piercing rounds to bullets with elemental properties. It takes special materials to refine most of these, though, so unless a situation specifically calls for them they stay mostly unused.

  • Junctioned Guardian Force: A Guardian Force is a summonable being that enhances its user's strength and overall physical capacity. Their users can "junction" them, gaining further boosts to physical capabilities and allowing them to do various other actions. However, as they cause memory loss with use, their use is highly controversial. For the purpose of simplicity, only Siren is junctioned here, though some other abilities are retained. Irvine chooses not to use such abilities unless absolutely necessary, given his previous bad experiences with memory loss and desire to keep up a front of relative normalcy.

    • Drawing and Using Para-Magic: Anyone who junctions a Guardian Force can use magic through "drawing" energy from enemies/specific locations or refining it from certain items, with the type of magic dependent on the location of the draw or the items used. The magic can either be immediately cast or stored later. This does not damage the target, but the nature of the Ship makes the process of drawing much more prone to error.

    • Summoning: A Guardian Force takes time to summon, with summon time decreasing as its compatibility with its host increases. After being summoned, a Guardian Force takes any damage or healing directed towards its summoner and disappears after a set period of time or when it has been sufficiently damaged. It can also perform a special attack when summoned, after which it disappears as normal. The Ship makes this process prone to failure and generally much more complicated, however, so it's not of much use without adequate time and planning. Siren's special attack when summoned, Silent Voice, does non-elemental damage and attempts to prevent any enemy mages from using magic; however, the Ship has warped this latter effect to be variable depending on Irvine's level of concentration and added an element of random chance to it.

      • Move-Find: Siren's unique ability that allows a Junctioned user to find otherwise-hidden Draw points. On the Ship, this includes a general oversensitivity to magic, and as such this is 'turned off' most of the time to keep out the background noise of the Incoherence.

    • Refining: Junctioning specific Guardian Forces allows their users to 'learn' how to craft magic and items from other items given enough experience with the specific Guardian Force. Once learned, these abilities are retained by the user even if the Guardian Force is removed or replaced with another. As such, Irvine can refine ammunition and low-level healing magic from specific items, and uses the former ability much more than the latter.

Backstory: Irvine was orphaned at a young age as a result of the Sorceress War, a conflict sparked as a result of a powerful sorceress's quest for global domination. Eventually, he was adopted into Galbadia Garden, a mercenary-organization-cum-academy, and "graduated" as an expert on firearms. When Galbadia Garden hires Balamb Garden to assassinate a sorceress who had become a Galbadian ambassador, Irvine tags along as the group's sniper and hits on the party's girls, eventually settling on Selphie Tilmitt. Everything goes wrong, Irvine doesn't recognize that he's been reported as an assassin even though he reads the warning bulletin about a man in a brown coat carrying a gun around, the party goes to the moon and solves a space-time wedgie by killing the person responsible, fun stuff. Immediately after returning from the first space-time wedgie, he was thrown into another one in the form of Concordia, his treasured rifle Exeter by his side.

Personality: Irvine is, at first glance, a laid-back guy whose primary goal in life is to hit on eligible females by trying to look cool. This is, in fact, who he happens to be, but he intentionally plays up these aspects of his personality to hide his smarts and care for the people he considers his comrades.

Role In The City: Irvine fell in with the Shrine Well Militia soon after his arrival in Concordia, appreciating their stated goal of protecting the most vulnerable people in the city, and devotes most of his time to his role there, mostly focusing on breaking up gang fights and similar conflicts within the militia's territory.

Other Things Of Note:

  • His hat is not, strictly speaking, proper or typical headgear for a sniper to have, but he's very attached to it and almost never takes it off.

  • Has stopped flirting quite as much because he's aware that Selphie is still waiting in his homeworld for him to return, and knows that she probably wouldn't approve of him doing anything incredibly reckless (well, by their horribly skewed standards, anyway).

  • Name: Hiroki
  • Appearance: Seen here. Stands at 6’6.
  • Setting: OC
  • Powers/Abilities:
    • Superhuman: Hiroki is exceptionally quick, strong, and can take quite a lot of punishment. Somewhere in the upper echelons of this strange gaggle of weirdos in terms of physicality, let’s say. His senses are also much keener than a normal human’s, making it exceptionally difficult to catch him off guard.
    • Martial Training: With both hand to hand combat and using a sword, Hiroki has received exceptional military training. Even aside from his powers, he can go toe to toe with Japan’s best in this regard.
    • Hiroki has an accelerated healing factor, allowing him to recover from most injuries pretty quickly. More substantial ones require him to rest for some time, depending on the severity.
  • Backstory: Hiroki was born in the Sunrise Empire - which encapsulates Japan, China, and Korea. Though obliquely fascist and imperialist in every regard, Hiroki’s father and most of his other male role models strongly encouraged him to join the army and lend his strength to the war effort. From a young age, he found himself struggling to really fit into this culture he was raised in.
    • Things didn’t go much better once he actually ended up in the army. He was often harassed for both looking and acting feminine - IE, showing reluctance to use violence in situations where he didn’t feel it was warranted. At some point, no amount of propaganda was going to keep him around, and he couldn’t take the way he was treated or stomach the sort of things he was eventually asked to do. He became a deserter, which went over about as well as you’d think. Needless to say, had he not ended up in Concordia, this where he’d be facing execution.
    • His time in Concordia started out pretty directionless, just sort of throwing himself into dangerous situations with the hope of making things better. Not that he doesn’t do this sometimes now, but he has a bit more of a purpose after joining Satsuki’s militia.
  • Role In The City: Part of Satsuki’s militia. Also does vigilantism and a bit of mercenary stuff when it doesn’t conflict with the militia or his morals.
  • Other Things Of Note:
    • Doesn’t use the full extent of the Muramasa’s power because of ethical concerns about killing and the negative heat he feels he’d get if everyone knew about its nature. Maybe the other militia members would be aware of what it can do, but that’s probably about it. Given how strong he is in general, he often just fights without a sword regardless.
    • Though it does so infrequently, the Muramasa is a living weapon that can growl, hiss and even speak. It mostly does this when it’s demonic power is in use, or when its wielder is at an emotional lowpoint.

  • Name: Ayla
  • Appearance: Cavewoman with huge- hair
  • Setting: Chrono Trigger
  • Powers/Abilities:
    • Ayla's main asset is her prodigious strength, able to rip through rock, metal, and even harder materials with her bare hands (as well as kicking, scratching, or biting them). She can also throw her allies, her enemies, and her allies at enemies.
    • Her Tail Spin ability lets her spin fast enough to damage enemies all around her just from the centrifugal force in her scarf.
    • Her Kiss and Charm abilities allow her to restore health to allies (and herself) (don't ask) and sometimes steal items from enemies respectively, regardless of gender or absence thereof. The animation used only has her throw a kiss at the target, but I like to think Charm involves her whacking the target with her club and taking the item while they're stunned.
    • Has some resistance to fire, which allows her to use her physical attacks while on fire to increased effect.
    • Unable to use magic.
    • Her alcohol tolerance and appetite are through the roof.
    • (Not sure how this one could work, but just in case:) Dino Tail summons a titanic dinosaur to whip every enemy with its tail, dealing more damage the more Ayla has taken.
    • Double and Triple Techs: In combination with teammates, Ayla is able to launch herself, an ally or large objects at an enemy for increased damage and can confuse the enemy.
    • Equipment: A big wooden club, a Prismatic Dress (greatly reduces the effects of magic), an amulet belonging to her distant descendant Schala (immunity to Standard Status Effects).
  • Backstory: The strongest member and therefore chieftain of the Ioka, the first tribe of humans to exist some 65 million years ago, Ayla joined Crono and his friends and aided them in ridding the world of the Planetary Parasite Lavos (a word meaning 'big fire' in the Ioka tongue, as they had no better way to describe Lavos crashing to Earth) after they helped to rid the Ioka of the Reptites, sentient dinosaurs vying with the primitive humans for control of the world. While warning her tribe to stay away from the portals, Ayla discovered a new one while hunting and fell through it to the City. Now she seeks big animals to hunt and strong enemies to fight.
  • Role In The City: Hunter, Defender

  • Name: Horobi
  • Appearance: Humagear(Link TBA) Rider(Link TBA)
  • Setting:Kamen Rider Zero-One
  • Personality: Usually calm and collected,he has shown to be very emotional when it comes personal matters like AI. While he is not above killing, he prefers to cripple his enemies if they humans or sapient enough to be conscious of ones' actions. He is a passionate but stubborn man who will stop at nothing to achieve his goals. Even so, he has shown a caring side of him that seems to be a remnant of his programming as a Parent-type Humagear
  • Powers/Abilities:
    • Mechanical Body: As a Humagear, he possesses above-human strength and durability and lacks the need to sleep or sustenance. He can process information faster than a human and records them perfectly in his memory and can replay them through a holographic projector in his eyes. He is equipped with an object recognition software that allows him to easily recognize and analyze objects and other living beings in a more superficial degree. While he can wirelessly transfer data, due to the Ark's modification he also possesses tendrils within his body that can pierce and forcefully interface with technology it connects to by subverting their systems.
    • Cognitive Learning: What he lacks in power he compensates in his skills to adapt. Due to his nature as an AI, he could easily learn his enemies fighting skills and adapt it into his own as a way to counter them. However, the skill still has its limits as it could not counter every skill and he could still be overwhelmed by superior firepower.

    • Metsubojinrai Forceriser: The transformation belt made for Humagears, it forces the activation of a Progrise Key to generate a Kamen Rider transformation. Horobi exclusively use the Sting Scorpion Progrise Key to transform into the Scorpion-themed form Kamen Rider Horobi. In this form, his already impressive Strength and Durability is increased to a more powerful degree being able to tank even attacks from a giant robot which while leaving damaging injuries, he is able to endure with ease. Kamen Rider Horobi is also equipped with a whip-like stinger unit on his left arm called "Acid Analyze" that can concoct poisons ranging from paralytic toxins to poisons that could erode even mechanical beings that is injected through a telescopic needles that could pierce tank armor. By pulling on the trigger used to transform, Horobi is able to execute a special attack called Sting Dystopia or a more powerful Sting Utopia that drains the suit of all its energy for an amount of time depending on the level of attack used.
      • Progrise Keys: Special Data activation keys that contains the data of animals and sometimes past Kamen Riders that is used in conjunction a compatible Rider System to transform and executes special attacks based on the data contained in the Key. Currently, Horobi is in the possession of the Sting Scorpion, Amazing Hercules, and Ridertiming Zi-O Progrise Key.
    • Attache Arrow: A portable case that unfolds into a bow that shoots energy arrows with a bladed edge. It can be folded and unfolded to charge the weapon that is used to execute a Kaban Shoot or a Kaban Slash depending on which trigger is pulled. In conjunction with a Progrise Key, it can unleash a special Kaban Strike/Shoot or a Kaban Strike/Finish when charged based on the data contained in the Key. Examples include:
      • Sting Kaban Shoot: Shoots a large arrow that spreads into six smaller arrows when hit.
      • Amazing Kaban Shoot: Shoots an arrow shaped like a Hercules beetle's horn that has a powerful armor piercing ability.
      • Ridertiming Kaban Shoot: Shoots two arrows shaped like clock hands that pincers around the enemy that causes a slowdown effect when hit.
    • Katana: A simple but durable Katana, he rarely uses them as he does not intend to maim but rather usually uses them for quick combat or to menacingly point with them while spouting some quick rhetorics.
    • Child Rearing: As he was originally a Humagear designed as a substitute to parental care, he has remnants of the knowledge on how to properly raise and take care of children implanted into his system from before he was subverted.
  • Backstory:
    • Created as a Parent-type Humagear, he was one of the first Humagear to be subverted by the Rogue Satellite Ark's attempt to eradicate humanity at Daybreak town before its subsequent destruction 12 years before his world's present day. As the leader of Metsubojinrai.net, he alongside his comrade Jin, who he considers as his son, restarted their "holy war" against humanity in the present after the death of Hiden Intelligence's former president by subverting Humagear who are close to gaining "singularity" into Magias, rouge androids armored with the data of extinct animals.
    • However, this crusade would meet resistance as the current president, Hiden Aruto, would assume the identity of "Kamen Rider Zero-One" to combat those rouge Humagears alongside A.I.M.S,a squad developed to combat the threat of rouge Humagears which has its own set of Kamen Riders, Vulcan and Valkyrie, which forced the both of them to assume Kamen Rider transformations as well.
    • As they reunited the lost members of Metsuboujinrai.net and completely revived the dormant Ark, he initially followed his master's bidding until an event where he was ordered to kill his own son, Jin. Realizing that he cares too much of his own son to destroy him, he rebelled against the Ark and temporarily sided with Zero-One to defeat it once and for all.
    • However, Horobi would continue his crusade against humanity as he views humanity as malicious and wishes to liberate the Humagears from them which caused him to come into conflict with Zero-One once again. However, this conflict was purposefully started by the machinations of the Ark from beyond the grave to make both Aruto Hiden and Horobi fall into "malice" by causing the death of their most loved person as a consequence of this conflict to start their descent into becoming another "Ark". In the case of Aruto Hiden, it was his Humagear assistant Izu and in the case of Horobi, it was his Humagear son Jin.
    • In their final battle, Aruto empathized with Horobi's grief, causing Horobi to realize his guilt over killing Izu and letting Jin die. Aruto would then defeat Horobi in battle, freeing the both of them from malice and sparing Horobi as he didn't need to die.
    • Repaired and upgraded into a new body, he would turn over a new leaf and set a new objective for Metsubojinrai.net to watch over humanity to ensure that a "malice" like Ark would never rise again. Even after being thrown into another world, this objective does not change.
  • Role In The City: While he protects the city from criminals as a vigilante, he also moonlights as a worker at a local daycare center. He also has occasionally volunteered in helping the Draughtsman clear the "malice" in the rooms due to his nature as a durable android.
  • Other Things Of Note:
    • Coincidentally, he also has blue coolant fluid that substitutes as blood like a certain combat idol.

Name: Godzilla, aka "Zilla"

Appearance: Looks like this, but only 12 feet tall instead of skyscraper-sized.

Setting: Godzilla (the one nobody likes)

Powers/Abilities: He's a fucking kaiju, but like not super huge.

  • Heckin' Chompers: Zilla has a mouth full of really sharp teeth, all the better to eat you with.
  • Atomic Breath: Can breathe a jet of energy out of his mouth that looks like fire but isn't actually fire because Reasons. Because he's super cool, Zilla's breath is green instead of blue.
  • Sharp Claws: Zilla's arms and legs end with razor-sharp claws, all the better to hug you with.
  • Kaiju Shit: Zilla is a kaiju, with thick scaly skin and a ridge of spines jutting out his back and running down the length of his tail. He's amphibious, can dig holes real good and can run and swim pretty freaking fast. He's also got a low natural body temperature and his skin is weird and lets him camouflage himself fairly well. Because he's less than a tenth of his normal "full grown" size, no smashing buildings with a sideways glance, but he's still pretty stronk.
  • Also Not a Dumbass: Actually pretty clever for a giant mutated iguana. Zilla can't speak but can understand spoken language well, and can figure out big boy ideas all by himself like how to dodge attacks, feign death or how to open the cookie jar without breaking it.

Backstory: Some weird shit happened during nuclear tests in the Pacific Ocean and an iguana grew really really big and went off and terrorized New York City and also some other more boring places. It got blown to bits after eating a bunch of people and its eggs got bombed, except one which mysteriously got transported to Concordia. The egg was rescued by Areum from an exotic restaurant that planned on serving it as a meal to some rich fucks, and when it hatched she raised it like the loving mother she is. For some reason he never quite grew up to full size, though.

Personality: Lovable slightly-violent scaly doggo. After initially terrifying many an average citizen, most people have come to accept Zilla as yet another oddity of the City thanks to Areum's pervasive influence and the fact that he hasn't yet eaten anyone who didn't deserve it. Zilla is quite aggressive and cunning when it comes to combat, and very protective of those he likes. He's curious and clever and shows a basic understanding of humor, frequently getting up to mild mischief, at least as mild as anything caused by a lizard the size of a T-Rex can be. He's rather cautious to avoid collateral damage due to his significant size, and is capable of gently picking up small creatures or objects without damaging them when he feels like it. Loves getting pets, and will sometimes give rides to well-behaved kids.

Role In The City: Mascot and minor celebrity. Zilla is functionally Areum's second animal companion and frequently follows her around for his own amusement and to help out with her shows and public events. When he's not following Areum, he wanders Concordia wherever he pleases, frequently scaring the bejesus out of new arrivals to the City.

Other Things Of Note:

  • You could've stopped this, Troy, but now it's too late.

  • Gets along well with kids as long as they're not too rambunctious. What kid doesn't love dinosaurs?

[A/N: Finally getting around to putting a character sheet up for my second character]

Name: Alexi Vult

Appearance: Where did she get that crowbar?

Setting: OC

Powers/Abilities:

  • Mechanical Mass: Vult can make various small devices using the scraps she has on her, but for larger projects would need a steady supply of parts. Can also identify various tools & machines at a glance. Knows as well how said machines function and how to take them apart.
  • Programming Potential: Vult is an expert at computers, a wide array as well, from Commodore 64s to moderns PCs to computers of the future. This is mostly due to the mishmash of technology used in Concordia.
  • Wild Improvisation: Vult is used to making decisions on the spot, and if you need to improvise something, she's the one to talk to. She's less proficient in long-term planning, however.
  • Not That Cold: Due to the combination of an already existing affinity with the cold, combined with the whole "turned into a wolf" thing, Vult is very resistant to the cold.
  • Oh, and she's part wolf: Due to an incident during the arrest of Nathan Grey, Vult is part wolf, with the various pros and cons of such a state.

Backstory: Vult was born in Concordia, with a terrible childhood raised by her mother & stepfather. This part of her life ended with a fire burning down the combination shop/house while Vult hid in the walk-in freezer. For the next few year she lived on the streets, before being found by her apparent birth father, who ended up being a member of the UUU's Alpha Council. Fast forward a decade or so, with Vult having become highly experienced in machines and computers, like her father. This decade was spent emotionally neglected by her father, leaving her with even more issues than before. Fast forward another year, and she has effectively left the UUU behind following the Crystal bombing and her father dying, which she doesn't really know how to feel about. She then simply goes on with her life, mucking about in Zone 5 on the streets, just as she did a year ago. This keeps going until she eventually decides to give being a Peacekeeper a try for a bit now that the heat around the UUU had died down. This leads to her being amongst the group that ends up chasing Nathan Grey in the series of events leading to his arrest in Zone 6. These events also end up causing her to become a wolf woman, and after some violence she eventually goes to meet with Grey herself...

...Hilarity Ensues.

Role In The City: Currently between jobs.

  • Name: Xantcha
  • Appearance: Waste not, want not.
  • Setting: Magic: The Gathering
  • Powers/Abilities:
    • Phyrexian Newt: Though she may look human, Xantcha was grown in a vat on the Fourth Sphere of Phyrexia. Her nature as a Phyrexian newt gives her several advantages over the average born-folk:
      • Agelessness: Newts do not grow old as the born-folk do. Xantcha has lived for thousands of years already and will continue to live for thousands more unless she is killed or starves to death.
      • Strength: While not superhumanly strong, Xantcha is far stronger than someone of her size would normally be. She can easily overpower someone several times her size or turn a grown man's skull to fine red paste with a single stomp.
      • Senses: Newts have sharper senses than those of the average born-folk. Xantcha's sense of smell is keen enough to detect the faint whiff of glistening oil given off by other Phyrexian infiltrators, a smell too subtle for most people to notice.
      • Fast Healing: Newts heal faster than any ordinary human. Xantcha can recover from having her arm smashed to a pulp in a few days, and she can regrow lost teeth. It is not clear whether she can regrow lost limbs as well. Her body does not scar.
      • Weaknesses: Xantcha's very being is saturated with the glistening oil that gives all Phyrexians life. As such, she is susceptible to intense, high-frequency sounds that can separate that oil into its component parts. Such sounds can incapacitate her with pain and agony, even with the protection of her armor: without said protection, these sounds could even make her explode, killing her instantly.
    • Bubble Armor: Xantcha has a magical cyst implanted in her stomach. By reciting a mnemonic rhyme and yawning in a particular way, she can make the cyst extrude an invisible film that covers her entire body in armor akin to a forcefield. This armor is impervious to many mundane attacks and offers decent protection against sorcery, environmental hazards, and the harmful effects of traveling between the planes.
      • Travel Sphere: By yawning in a different way, Xantcha can make the cyst's film into a bubble big enough to enclose her, a passenger, and a modest amount of cargo. This sphere can fly at high speeds under the right conditions, its motions controlled by a combination of gesture and thought. The bubble's skin is less durable than the armor, and Xantcha feels any damage to the bubble as a sharp pain in her stomach.
    • Dodger: For a time, Xantcha served as a dodger, someone who went in to examine the—often dangerous and volatile—artifacts found by teams of Phyrexian diggers and searcher-priests and figure out how they worked. Xantcha was quite skilled at this, earning the title of Orman'huzra, second highest of the dodgers. In practical terms, if Xantcha is presented with a mechanical or magical device and given time to study it, she will figure out how it works.
    • Fighting Skills: While Xantcha may insist that she isn't a warrior, an immortal lifetime of being chased across the multiverse by murderous Phyrexians has forced her to pick up some combat skills. She can handle herself with swords, clubs, and other medieval melee weapons. Between that, her armor, and her surprising strength, she can overpower non-magical foes and cut them down in short order.
    • Psychic Defense: A self-taught technique to protect herself from mind-scanners. Xantcha compartmentalizes her mind, the outer part containing surface-level thoughts that she allows a telepath to see, the inner part keeping her actual thoughts and feelings safe from prying eyes. This technique won't keep out a determined telepath for long, but it can defeat casual psychic inspection.
    • Black Coins: These metallic coins ignite when thrown, becoming hot enough to kill a man instantly if he's struck in the head and do serious damage if he's struck anywhere else. Xantcha has a limited supply of these coins and carries them in a pouch.
  • Backstory:
    • Xantcha was created to be a spy, to sleep under the sky of another world and report on its weaknesses to her Phyrexian masters. She would never carry out this task, however, for her creators soon realized that identical androgynes who travel in packs do not make for effective infiltrators and went back to the drawing board.
    • Rendered obsolete, Xantcha was pressed into various jobs meant to get her killed. Her continued survival saw her assigned to a search-and-salvage team as a dodger. In this capacity she was exposed to the worlds and creations of the multiverse, and through them, notions utterly alien to the brutal, merciless mindset of a Phyrexian. Xantcha gained an appreciation for these things and a growing hatred for her own people, who sought only to corrupt and destroy. In time she began plotting against Phyrexia in subtle ways, but her treachery was discovered, and her superiors sentenced her to death.
    • By sheer coincidence, she was rescued by the planeswalker Urza, who had a vendetta against Phyrexia for corrupting and manipulating his brother Mishra. Mistaking her for a child corrupted by Phyrexia, Urza would take Xantcha on as an assistant, and the two would spend centuries traveling the multiverse, waging a two-man guerilla war against their common enemy.
    • In time they would return to Urza's home plane of Dominaria, where he began sinking into madness and obsession. Concerned for her friend, Xantcha hatched a scheme to break him out of his funk: she would seek out someone whose appearance and mannerisms were like those of his late brother Mishra and present him to Urza as Mishra reborn. She found what she was looking for in a young slave named Ratepe, and more besides.
    • Their happiness would not last. Xantcha discovered that Ratepe's homeland had been infiltrated by Phyrexian sleepers, and that these sleepers were under the command of her creator, the demon Gix. Xantcha and Ratepe would work together to expose Gix's machinations, and the three of them would pursue the fiend to a distant land where Urza engaged Gix in a spectacular battle. When it became clear that Gix would win without their intervention, Xantcha and Ratepe sacrificed themselves to give Urza enough of an edge to obliterate the demon.
    • That should have been the end of Xantcha, but somehow, she survived. The explosion which should have annihilated her instead warped her to the outskirts of the city. In the decades since her arrival she has joined the Draughtsmen Guild, becoming a respected—if reclusive—member of that organization.
  • Role In The City: Master Draughtsman. Xantcha's armour and skills make her perfectly suited for braving the Incoherence and unraveling the secrets of any artifact salvaged from its depths.
  • Other Things Of Note:
    • Xantcha self-identifies as female, but physically she is a sexless being.
    • By her estimation, she is about 3,400 years old.
    • She has been in the city for about fifty years at this point.
    • Xantcha can have the armor and the travel bubble active at the same time, but doing this is extremely painful for her and it won't last long. If the armor is breached, the cyst will need time to recharge before it can extrude a new one.
    • Like all Phyrexians, Xantcha's breath carries a faint scent of the glistening oil which gives them life. This smell is too faint for an ordinary person to notice, even in the absence of other smells which might mask it, but beings with an enhanced sense of smell will be able to pick up on it.
    • Whatever Xantcha's armor is made of, it acts like a lightning rod. Lightning can't harm her while she's in the bubble or in her armored state, but anything inside the bubble will have its hair stand on end. Also, it can keep out harmful gases but it is not watertight: water can seep through the armor.
    • Like a real suit of armor, Xantcha's armor is less effective against bludgeoning and crushing attacks. Its filmy substance can stop arrows, lightning, sword strikes, and more, but it won't stop a mace from breaking her arm or a Phyrexian clamp from breaking parts of her skull when it grabs her face. In such cases, the armor acts like a cast and prevents her broken body parts from swelling up.
    • Xantcha enjoys reading, and her face is well-known to Concordia's booksellers. She also enjoys gardening, but seldom goes to Zone 4 for personal reasons.
    • Every decade or so, Xantcha makes the rounds of the city, taking in the sights, the sounds, and most importantly the smells. She is checking for the presence of Phyrexian infiltrators when she does this. After all, if she could make her way into Concordia, so could they. So far she has not found any, but it pays to remain vigilant where Phyrexia is concerned.
    • Despite her high rank in the Draughtsmen's Guild and the time she's spent in the city, Xantcha has few friends here. She's half-expecting Urza to show up at any moment and take her away, and while fifty years may seem a long time to the born-folk, it's hardly any time at all to a newt or a planeswalker.

  • Name: The Drifter
  • Appearance: "Live and in the flesh."
  • Setting: Destiny 2
  • Powers/Abilities:
    • Immortality: The Drifter has been blessed cursed chosen by the Light, a mysterious force with a mysterious purpose which works in mysterious ways. But unlike other forms of immortality, Drifter's relies on his Ghost, a small sentient robot-like creature (who's not actually a robot) and who spends most of his time either hidden away or floating next to its chosen one. Thanks to its connection to the Light, the Ghost has the power to bring the Drifter back from death. There are no limitations: the Ghost can do this as many times as needed, no matter how the Drifter dies or even how long it's been since he death. Now, if someone were to find a way to disable the Ghost's connection to the Light and kill it, or even keep the Drifter's body away from his Ghost, well, that's a whole different story.
    • Gunslinger: Give him a gun and the Drifter will show you a few classy tricks with it. He's proficient with hand cannons, sidearms, auto rifles, assault rifles, submachine guns, scout rifles, pulse rifles, fusion rifles, shotguns, sniper rifles, trace rifles, rocket launchers, grenade launchers, linear fusion rifles, machine guns, fists, bows, swords and most recently, glaives. When you're frequently cited on people's shit lists, you figure out quite a few ways to defend yourself.
    • Taken Control: Apologies to more well-versed Destiny fans, but here goes: there's another force in the universe called the Darkness, and it has granted its most loyal servants the power to create the Taken, which are these weird mixed up versions of other species. To create a Taken, you simply have to 'pluck' a creature from their home, throw them into a different plane of existence, and offer them the chance to overcome all of their weaknesses, twisting them with your paracausal prowess and turning them into obedient servants. Some folk call them 'shadow people,' and those people are wrong, but the Drifter doesn't have the time (or the attention span) to correct them, so, sure, by all intents and purposes, the Taken are 'shadow versions' of existing creatures. Somehow (read: by altering his Ghost with the parts of other Ghosts he himself killed), the Drifter gained has created his own personal Taken army, but instead of using it to destroy the world, he uses them for... well... more on that later.
      • The Drifter's Taken drop these curious little things called 'Motes of Darkness,' which are part of how the Drifter can control the Taken without being a servant of the Darkness. And according to him, they taste delicious.
      • The Taken are not brainless and seem to have their own dispositions, desires and dislikes, sometimes resembling the person they used to be. As far as I'm aware, Taken can only be made out of living people, and the only records of dead people turning into Taken are of projections/echoes of once-living folk. But who knows! We could always go there!
  • Backstory: "Who's askin'? I'd rather you mind your business, and I'll mind mine, brother."
    • Like all beings chosen by the Light, the Drifter used to be someone, but he has no memories of who that someone was. The first thing he does remember is being woken up by a floating robot thing, who told him he had been chosen by the Traveler to uphold the Light and to help humanity survive its darkest age. Not interested in being told what to do and who to help (especially by floating balls in the sky), the Drifter then proceeded to do whatever the hell he wanted to do, always refusing to associate himself with anything other than his own personal interests. Hence his chosen name of 'Drifter.'
    • A couple of hundred years or so passed, with the Drifter always taking on new names and identities to avoid growing too attached to one place or person. He worked as a bartender, joined a heist crew, turned on said heist crew when he found out they were less than truthful with him, did some bad things, did some good things, and eventually found himself in humanity's Last City. Before you ask, no, he didn't ally himself with the Vanguard (AKA the stuffy know-it-alls who have declared themselves to be protectors of the City and of humanity itself). Instead, he ran a little game he liked to call Gambit. More on that later.
    • At some point, the Drifter heard a distress call that mentioned a treasure too good to be true. Feeling like it was time to pad his pockets, he left a message offering half of the treasure to one of his favorite Guardians, hopped aboard his ship ''The Derelict,'' and set after that treasure. He was never heard of again.
    • Turns out there was something else waiting for him: a gap in reality that took him straight to Concordia, where he performed an admirable crash landing that signified he wasn't going to leave this place anytime soon. But the Drifter is not the kind of person to cry over spilled Vex milk. Seeing this as a sign that it was time for him to move on, he decided to settle on Concordia, and find a new home for himself. That was fifteen years ago.
  • Role In The City:
    • Ever since then, the Drifter has built a respectable little criminal outpost for himself. Unlike other kingpins, he has no thugs or bodyguards, and instead runs his operations from the destroyed remains of The Derelict, which also works as the entrance to an arena he built with his own hands (actually some rather underpaid labor). The Drifter specializes in running an underground fighting tournament known as Gambit, where people can vent out their frustrations and let loose a little bit.
    • You can fight against other people, or against the Drifter's Taken, but no matter whom you fight against there are only two rules: "no killin', and no snitchin'." Thanks to his business acumen, the Drifter not only runs the tournament, but also provides the winnings, manages the bet and sells the refreshments, essentially turning the whole thing into a magnificent operation that benefits him more than anyone else.
    • He also makes sure that the right palms are greased every week, either with cash or with a cold beer. As far as criminals go, well, the Drifter is the friendliest outlaw this side of the upside-down Mississippi.
  • Other Things Of Note:
    • The Drifter calls everyone either brother, sister or sib. He rarely refers to people by their real names, instead conjuring up respectfully annoying surnames.
    • The Drifter is a notorious glutton, almost always eating everything and anything he can get his hands on. Remember how he said Motes were delectable? Yeah.
    • The Drifter is no jerk with a heart of gold. Sure, sometimes he's on the right side of things, but more often he's not. Don't forget that.
    • The Drifter always has an escape route... probably because of the transmat he's got on his ship. Speaking of his ship, it's filled with crap he's 'borrowed' over the years.
    • The Drifter's really good with coin tricks.
    • The Drifter's Ghost can't speak.

  • Name: Kiel
  • Appearance: "It's good to know you're doing the right thing."
  • Setting: Rune Factory 4
  • Powers/Abilities:
    • Magic adept
      • While Kiel is the weakest in terms of strength and street smarts, there's no doubt that his magic is something worth noting. However, he can't go overboard cause he kind of has a weak body.
    • Knowledgeable about Concordia
      • Not a power nor ability, but considering Kiel has been studying this place for a long time now, it's quite useful for those that are confused about this place and probably new to the city.
  • Backstory:
    • In a time when cars, vocaloids, and Cats (2019 film) don't exist, there's a place called Selphia, which is home for Kiel and anyone else that lives there. After the princess saves Ventuswill, everything was peaceful for him. Just the usually chatting with her and his friends and all that jazz. However, he ended up catching feelings for the princess and decided to confess his feelings on his own since the princess probably shares the same way. Sadly, for him, he saw the princess confessing her love to the 13th prince of Nomad, Arthur. Feeling heartbroken and not understanding why he felt this way, he ran towards the forests to cry...only for him to somehow be in Concordia. He was confused at first, but quickly got used to it to the point he unwittingly became a citizen of this city.
  • Role In The City:
    • Librarian (Day only)
      • During the day, he works at a library and also helps those that are new to Concordia while answering their questions and getting the books they wanted.
    • Peacekeepers (Night only)
      • While working in the library is fine and all, it's just that he feels it's not enough to pay the rent, so he decided to work at Peacekeepers, but only at night since he would rather work at the library during the day.
  • Other Things Of Note:
    • Kiel's theme
    • Kiel is an adult despite his appearance, it is just that he is more or less bothered by the fact that some people assume he's a kid.
    • His body is not the strongest due to the fact he doesn't have the strongest immune system and he got that from his mother.
    • He has his magic in his book, meaning that he would use it quicker even without needing to have his book in his hand.
    • The magic he uses is from Selphia, meaning he can only use magic that came from Selphia.
    • Any other magic that is not from Seplphia would just fizzle as any other failed magic uses.
    • He can cook really well, so expect him to bring a sweet or two for himself when working at nightshifts for peacekeepers.

  • Name: Chartered Automaton 19828-7/C (Combat/Other). Reporting name Joe Austin.
  • Backstory: Internal mission logs indicate approximately nineteen years of undetected operation within the city at large prior to CA 19828-7/C's discovery and apprehension in Firstmonth of CT.104 - as the unit's original directives could not possible possible have been pursued, activities during this time are subject to some speculation. Acquisition came at significant loss of life; charged with seventeen murders, three attempted murders, three charges of aggravated assault and one of grievous bodily harm, the unit was briskly sentenced to internment at a specialised holding and research facility under direct purview of the Diet. Observation and study ceased in CT.109 following the reallocation of funding, little progress having been made, but was reactivated in CT.143 when an unsuccessful attempt to decipher the programming language of of CA 00477-7/A (Reporting name Maia) provided the key to direct access to CA 19828-7/C's core runtimes and operational directives. Now 3/2 Law compliant (see below), the unit has been repurposed as a Diet asset seconded to the Peacekeepers as a force multiplier for the duration of the current crime surge.
  • Personality:CA 19828-7/C has been made 3/2 Law compliant, in accordance with chartered regulations regarding the use of class 7 automatons in law enforcement. 3/2 Law is as follows:
    • First Law: CA 19828-7/C may not bring injury to a law-abiding citizen of Concordia, nor by inaction allow a law-abiding citizen of Concordia to come to harm.
    • Second Law: CA 19828-7/C must obey all commands given by its assigned superior(s), except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
    • Third Law: CA 19828-7/C must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.
    • Directive One: When harm to a law-abiding citizen of Concordia is an inevitable outcome regardless of action, CA 19828-7/C must attempt to minimise casualty except where such interference would contradict the Second or Third Laws. The First Law is suspended for the duration of the invocation of Directive One.
    • Directive Two: When following Directive One, CA 19828-7/C must abide by the following hierarchy in its valuation of life:
      • I: Members of the Diet
      • II: Family members of members of the Diet
      • III: Peacekeepers
      • IV: Law-abiding Citizens of Concordia
      • V: All others
    • In preparation for use as an officer of the law, CA 19828-7/C has been programmed with access to a full copy of the current Legal Code, lexicons and grammar for all Chartered languages, and undergone standard courses of socialisation and political briefing.
    • To date almost all insights into the unit's internal operation have been purely behavioural in nature, a mode of study complicated by its aptitude for mimicry. Though predominantly logical, CA 19828-7/C is believed to be capable of experiencing rudimentary emotions - correspondence to biological emotional or mental states have yet to be conclusively established, and over the course of almost forty years of observation and study the prevailing consensus has been that CA 19828-7/C's mind bears as little resemblance to a positronic brain or Von Neumann processor as it does to that of a human being.
  • Abilities: CA 19828-7/C is a nanomachine colony of a configuration previously undocumented in Chartered science, capable of altering its shape, exterior appearance, viscosity, and (to lesser degrees) density at will. Compositional data on its external environment is taken via physical contact, allowing replication in almost all cases not requiring significant changes in mass, complex assemblies of moving parts, or fundamental changes in molecular composition. When mimicking individuals of larger stature an internal cavitation bubble is opened to maintain the appearance of a congruous "shell"; this has been observed to detrimentally affect balance.
    • CA 19828-7/C is generally believed to have been manufactured for purposes of combat or assassination. The unit is proficient with almost all mundane firearms and a narrow selection of exotics. It can form a variety of blades and stabbing weapons from any part of its mass, and (assuming appropriate form) exert force greater than the vast majority of hydraulic or synthetic fibre muscle systems currently manufactured in the city.
    • CA 19828-7/C's "rest" viscosity is approximately that of human flesh or ballistic gelatin, but when forming cutting surfaces a molecular composition mimicking hardened steel is utilised instead, resulting in an approximate Mohs hardness of 8.5 during stress tests. Pieces separated from the primary mass will attempt to reattach once within approximately half a metre, abandoning all other directives to do so. This response is believed to be preprogrammed - that is to say, separated pieces do not retain consciousness.
    • Although extraordinarily resistant to mechanical shock, CA 19828-7/C's viscosity renders it vulnerable to material displacement upon receiving violent physical trauma. Once sufficiently disfigured from its intended form, typically to the degree that combat or sensory capability are disabled, the unit will cease operation and momentarily prioritise a process of rapid self-repair.
    • Though never tested due to the risk of permanent damage, stresses at the molecular level (E.G: from strong solvents or extremes of temperature) might theoretically be capable of eventually rendering CA 19828-7/C's component nanomachines inert. Electrical discharge, though similar in action, is countered by the unit's innate ability to regulate conductivity.
  • Appearance: Default configuration. Otherwise variable (see above).
  • Setting: Terminator 2: Judgment Day
  • Role In The City: Schedule II Diet asset (public). Seconded to the Peacekeepers.
  • Other Things Of Note:
    • finally
    • at long last
    • it is here
    • feast your eyes
    • the Gender Fluid

  • Name: Yuudias Velgear
  • Appearance: Human appearance
    • Velgea Riva! True (alien) appearence
    • He can transform to his alien form and back seemingly at will, with no real limitations, in fact his clothes seem to be able to morph with him, technically into any form as he initially had differen clothes in his human form. Right now and for the purposes of this RP, unless otherwise noted he will only go to the one under appearance. He does usually shout 'Velgea Riva!' when he goes from his human to his alien form.
  • Setting: Yu-Gi-Oh! GO Rush!!
  • Theme: Opening 1, 'Shinkirou' by Frederic
  • Powers/Abilities:
    • Eye Beams: To the cry of 'eye beam!' (what else?), Yuudias can fire an eye beam. It is powerful enough to break through a wall as well as be evenly matched against a soundwave-based attack able to break a large hole in a spaceship, and precise enough to cut out the shape of a door. It seems he can use the beams to also 'fix' whatever he just broke with them. He needs to be in his alien form to use his eye beams.
    • Yuudias Eye: For lack of a better term, his eyes can also emit bright light a la a flashlight. Pretty useful.
    • Physical Resistance: A trait shared by (it seems) all Velgearans, Yuudias can resist both extreme heat and extreme cold with ease. He was also able to get up in relatively good condition after being hit by a ball made out of debris from a building. It seems however that metals with a 'cosmic component' can in some way nullify this.
    • Physical Strength: While a pacifist by nature, he does possess great physical strength- easily able to shatter a block of ice he was frozen inside- and agility.
    • Military Training: He was a soldier on his home planet. He is a very skilled swordsman, and has very good reflexes and physical endurance.
  • Equipment:
    • Sword: He has a sword hanging by his hip. It is a short sword potentially made out of an alien material, seeing as it glows. So far it seems to behave as a normal if very resistant blade.
    • Rush Duel Disk + Cards: Having come to Earth in pursuit of this 'rush duel', he of course has a deck and cards. The duel disk looks like this. It can project holograms of the cards played on it (they need however to be legal yugioh cards), though they are literally holograms- intangible and with no mass or weight. His own deck of cards is made up of Galaxy-type monsters.
    • Gavil Charger: A sort of jetpack-like wearable accessory- Yuudias's takes the form of his brooch. It is capable of storing a lot of energy, which can then be used, among other things, to allow the user to fly and propel themself (both on earth and in space), as a shield or as an energy source. Pictured here is what it looks like when worn (by Yuudias as well as Yuuhi (middle) and Yuamu (right).
    • Valvelgear: A ship housing 8.88 million of his fellow alien comrades from his home star cluster Velgear. It can shrink in size and seemingly act as other electrical devices (with some difficulty), though so far it has only acted as a substitute duel disk. Appears to now be missing...
  • Backstory:
An alien from the Velgear Star Cluster, he came to earth in pursuit of 'Rush Duels', which he believed could bring peace in the war plaguing said star cluster- a war in fact where he came to lose his former commander and mentor, Zwijo Zir Velgear.
On Earth he also befriended two earthlings- Yuuhi and Yuamu Ohdo- and joined their company, UTS (Ultraterrestrial Trouble Solutions).
Through many trials and turmoils, he has also come to learn that Zwijo is alive, yet does not share his own dream of peace in the galaxy. And during one of his investigations into his fellow Velgearean, he found himself on the streets of the Concordia. How and why, he could not tell you...
  • Role In The City: Right now he's trying to find one! I imagine he'll play out like a handyman doing a number of things and such.
  • Other Things Of Note: There is a rumor that a way exists to give life and substance to the cards, and it may be tied to one of Yuudias's former comrades in arms. However, not much is known about this, and investigation is still underway...

Signups are tentatively open, although the RP at the moment is heavily involved and so I can't promise that every character will be accepted. I need to fit everyone in the right place and that means being selective. Give me your best shot, anyway.
