A little earlier this morning, I sent out a Holler on a post and now I'm not entirely certain of it was valid. I wanted to confirm in case the need to do so arose again.
Without going into specifics, the situation was a poster with a habit of posting zero-context links in their posts. Posting a link and saying little or nothing about what's in the link while asking everyone else what they thought.
This kind of thing is a violation of forum rules, but when it happens once in a while I don't usually sweat it too much beyond asking the person "What's in the link?", complete with pothole, as a snarky way of getting the point across.
The poster I Hollered, however, has a history of doing this despite being told both subtly and outright. Given this is a clearly recurring issue, I've hollered their ZCL posts a couple times now, but only more did it occur to me to ask if this was a valid use of the Holler button.
If it is, then I should probably continue to use it when this comes up. If it's not, then I'm basically wasting mod time on something that doesn't need it.
