This thread's purpose is to discuss issues within the TLP community and site culture as well as propose solutions to said issues.
Please do not use this thread to report or call out specific users or TLP drafts on this thread. You can make a Ask The Tropers query on the issue, holler, or PM a mod (the first of the three being preferable).
- The community is too bomb-happy. By that, I mean, when a stub draft is proposed, users are way to quick to drop the bombs the moment it's available, and this creates a feedback loop where other users are encouraged to drop bombs as well. It gets to the point where the purpose of dropping bombs to offset hats is lost, and people care more about raising the bomb count than anything else.
- The community is unwilling to teach inexperienced sponsors. All too often, I've seen regulars not even trying to teach sponsors the steps needed to improve, and instead, will just give blunt statements that do nothing to help at all. (Ex: "No description! No examples! Bombing for lack of effort!")
- The overall rudeness of regulars. From my observations, most of the regulars are very prone to delving into snarky and sarcastic comments that condemn sponsors, and this is only creating an unwelcoming, toxic environment.
This needs to be fixed because, from the looks of it, those who were not banned from the 5T incident or didn't participate at all didn't get the memo that this type of mentality is very toxic and is what leads to incidents like that in the first place.

Well, we do also need bombs to be able to discard things, so it's sort of impossible to restrict bombs to only being anti-hats. But any more than 5 and you're bombing for no reason at all.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessEven more Morrisettian irony?
They'll both happen within the same time period, as only "true emergencies" are allowed to be fixed between both of these crises.
You have stolen my troperhood and my dreams with your slowness! How dare you, Drew and Chris!
Sorry for dramatizing. But yes, we do need to inform these people about proper etiquette.

Rock'n'roll never dies!Keep an eye on this draft. It's freshly created, bare bones as it gets, and judging by the one line present, it seems like a deliberate attempt to draw in bombers just for the sake of it. In other words, it could be a troll draft.

Good catch. I'm not even gonna interact with it.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI don't think it's a deliberately troll draft, if only because the sponsor has been editing frequently on the wiki in the past year. It seems they're a big BoJack Horseman Entry Pimp, mostly on quotes pages, which helps explain the intent behind draft - "See you on the other side" sets up a sort-of Wham Line in the penultimate episode. Odd that it's not listed as an example on the draft, though.

I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Okay, we really need to kill this one early. Specifically because not only is it a meme-based stub, it's attracting popcorning in the exact same forum as that other draft did, which is one of the reasons that draft got so out of control.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe. So thanks to my holler that post got thumped and the thread got locked.
Rock'n'roll never dies!Holy shit they ended the whole thread? That's a bit overkill. Nobody responded to the post before it was thumped after all. Only other issue with that thread is that the things people found funny also tended to be bad examples or bad images from a practical point of view, but that's not the thread's fault.
Also seems that Fighteer discarded the Karen draft so that's good.

I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe. And so ends a nine year long thread. RIP.
Jawbreakers on sale for 99¢...And people are still commenting on the draft...
SoundCloudWhat the actual fuck is wrong with people? Why are they incapable of learning?
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure Pureness...Y'know, Imma just go ahead and ping ~callmeamuffin and ~Tropers/{{227someguy}}. The draft was discarded early for a reason; dancing on its grave has been proven to not help.
I think locking the "Entries that make you LOL" thread was a bit too far. Maybe leave a stickied message that you should stick to wiki entries only.
Jason has come back to kill for Mommy.I'm also not sure locking the thread was necessary, but also, an explanation for why it was locked might've been helpful — we've seen people in several other threads ask why it got locked suddenly, which kinda just spreads the drama.
Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing.I think locking the thread just brought more attention to the draft. Now people are asking, "What happened to the thread?" and finding out about the discarded draft. Thumping the post wouldn't have prompted so many people to ask questions, and since nobody responded to the post on the thread before it was thumped, there was no problematic conversation to lock. This was not a good move.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Sorry about that. I was one of the people who asked about the locking. I know when something gets thumped the rule is to forget about it and move on, but when something that major is done, it's hard not to be way more curious.
SoundCloudDepends on the goal. It sounds like more people are being made aware that "popcorn posting is not tolerated". If the goal was to quietly sweep the nuked draft away, it isn't working.
Link to TRS threads in project mode here.Discussions about the thread getting locked (and any possible unlocking) should probably be moved too the Discussions about moderation thread.
Jawbreakers on sale for 99¢The thread issue should probably to to "appeal to the moderation" thread, now located in FAQ. I agree it was a step too far.

Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessIs this about what I said about that Karen trope?
Everyone look at my sandboxSorry, folks, I unlocked the "LOL" thread, although this is the sort of thing that'll get Yack Fest canned completely if it keeps up.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Eh, likely not, but still. I think we (including me) all need to be more supportive, and not bomb unless for a valid reason.
Come play Character Uplift Game!
What we can do is friendly-ping tropers who have dogpiled or been unconstructive more than once here and have a discussion about why that attitude is not helpful. Looks like Divine Flame had the same idea with the comment they just left on Oh Yeah, That One.
