You can't change your username.

If you're changing your web identity, you can make a new account. If you just want this account to be forgotten, you can just abandon it.

Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing.

I've never heard of this site purging inactive accounts. In fact, someone asked about that on Ask the Tropers a few months ago and a mod explicitly said it's not something that the site does.

Back in the day we used to periodically purge them. And no, we don't have an account rename feature.

See Get Known for account policies. Even if we delete accounts from the database, all history of them would remain, including edits and forum posts.

Not changing a username requires zero coding. Changing a username requires more than zero coding. It is an affirmative technical requirement, not something that just grows out of the mildew when you build a website.

Edit: There are other complications on a wiki, because the username has to change everywhere: forum posts, logs, edit histories, and the like. The search-and-replace would be a big deal.
