Jirou

"Italian? That usually means Roman. Now we're making progress." Jirou grinned as he pulled up "List of Roman Deities" on wikipedia and began scrolling through the names. It only took a few minutes before he came across a possible hit. "Well...I didn't find Cloe, but this is the only result that sounds close." He hummed, opening the page and turning the screen towards Rebecca. "Cloacina. Goddess of...well, take a look and see if it makes sense."

Auditorium

The sudden clicking of a cane rang throughout the room as a hunched over man in a well tailored suit and a beautiful woman in a white dress took the stage in the auditorium.

"All students please find your way to a seat, orientation is about to begin," the woman's voice held a musical quality to it. Once the students shuffled to their seats in whatever arrangement they would find themselves in the woman looked at each student with a small nod. "My name is Aphrodite, I will be your homeroom teacher. Please use whatever nicknames or even my full name if that makes you more comfortable," she laughed in a way that one would imagine seeing flowers bloom to before stepping back.

The gnarled man stepped forward, his cane making a harsh clack against the ground with each movement. "I am the founder of this Academy, you may call me Hades, or Pluto if that name is more familiar for you." his eyes swept the chairs, rather expecting to see some looks of disbelief among those who had been gathered. But it seemed that there were less surprised faces among the crowd then he would have first expected. "Some of you might find my name strange, but allow me to answer the question on your minds. Yes I am the god of the dead, and the woman to be your homeroom teacher is the goddess of Love."

He paused for a moment, letting those two facts sink in before continuing. "Each person in this room has a heritage that connects them in someway to beings long thought by the rest of the world as simple myths and legends. This is of course a deliberate deception on our part, the reasons for which will be explained to you later. For now all you need to know is that by joining this school you and your peers will be thrown into a world that is hidden from ordinary world. You will never know a simple life and may be in danger. That being said should you complete you tenure of four years at this academy you will live the rest of your lives in comfort performing whatever task you wish. That being said, anyone who wishes to leave may do so now."

And with that Hades became silent once more, the doors at the back of the room slowly closing. The moment they did the doors themselves disappeared. "Very well, all who remain will be tested." purple flame danced across the floor between the stage and the chairs, widening like cracks in the world itself. Out of these cracks rose a number of racks filled with an assorted of weapons and tools from across the world, from swords and spears to more exotic weapons like a Khopesh. Each tool was polished to perfection. "All you must do is survive for the next ten minutes. After that I will allow you to ask any questions you might have regarding your continued education."

A wall of purple flames rose to block the stage from the rest of the room, and the reason for that would be quickly noticed by the noise coming from behind the students.

The same fissure like cracks grew in the floor, but rather then racks of weapons skeletal arms exploded to the surface, pulling themselves out of the purple crack to reveal a skeletal creature pulled directly from an old horror movie, their faces affixed in skeletal grins. Each of them were equipped with bone weapons, crafted shields and spears of the same material as the creatures. And as one they began to march forward on the students, their intent clear as more and more pulled themselves out of the rift.

"Hades?" Juliana muttered. Ah, crap. How the hell was she supposed to address Hades? Hey, Lord of the Underworld! How's it goin'? Yeah, no, she wasn't going to say that—

Suddenly, a rack of weapons appeared from a crack in the floor. Juliana blinked, staring at it. "O...kay..."

Wait, did he say survive, or—

A noise came from behind her, and she whirled around to see—

"SKELETONS!" she yelled, leaping from her chair. "Oh god, we're gonna die!" It was a trick! He's trying to kill us!

She ran over to the weapon rack and grabbed the first thing she saw—a bow. She awkwardly held the weapon in one hand, the other desperately grabbing around the rack for arrows.

"Kept me waiting, haven’t you? Tch. No matter. Dawdle all you’d like. In the end, your defeat remains inevitable."

Shea

...Uhm–

“Well that's not very nice,” Shea huffed and frowned, flicking their eyes over to the weapons rack before bolting towards it. Their tail wrapped around them to stay out of the way and they picked up a halberd—struggling with the weight but determined to use the reach. Their arms were shaking from fear. Their cats congregated around them, screaming and hissing at the skeletons with hackles raised. Shea felt sharp canine teeth biting into their lips, and unknowingly to them their golden eyes narrowed into catlike slits.

“So the folktales weren't tales. I knew I were weird,” they spat, the ears atop their head elongating in length somewhat as they defensively waved the halberd around at the approaching skeletons. Or tried to, at least. “I should've let those guys take you away, shouldn't I? Poor loves... I'll protect you...” they murmured guiltily, glancing a moment down at their precious pets.

Aaron

Aaron took a seat near the front, as their homeroom teacher and principal. Their homeroom teacher was smokin' hot, probably because she was the Goddess of Love.

Though after a minute he realized that Aphrodite and Hades were Greek, which meant the they were... his aunt and uncle, if he was remembering right? Actually, Aphrodite was also his dad's girlfriend, now that he thought of it. He made a mental note to ask her about his dad.

He'd never actually seen Ares in person, after all.

Before his thoughts could wander more, the headmaster summoned up racks of weapons. Aaron was moving even before Hades told them they would need to survive.

Fighting. The thing he was best at. Aaron smiled, as he perused the weapons. His first instinct was spear-and-shield, as he'd been practicing with those weapons since 13. On the other hand, this was quite a selection, and he'd always wanted to have a sword.

To that end, Aaron took two swords, each big enough that they were clearly meant to be held with two hands. He hefted each in his hands, as though they weighed nothing, and the moment the skeletons began to crawl out of the earth, he charged.

His first blow slashed a skull in half, the second bisected another skeleton at the middle. His sword swings were like lightning, raining down with extreme speed. At the same time, he never left openings, always parrying any spear that came near him.

Though he'd never wielded swords before, he was clearly experienced in combat. Instincts beyond mortal guided his blows, as he slashed through the skeleton's shields like paper. Aaron was like a whirlwind of steel, tearing his way through the skeleton hordes without effort.

As he fought, Aaron laughed, overjoyed at the thrill of battle.

The Beautiful Trap

They're really not going to stop with this myth thing are they... The 'Aphrodite' was okay though. I really have to learn how she does that laugh. Móirín kicked back, putting her feet up on the chair in front of her, not even considering getting up and racing for the doors. She could leave tomorrow if this place got boring. Besides, they were going all in with the effects. And even if this was true, no simple life ever and danger would be awesome. She idly imagined laying back while models fed her grapes on her throne of skulls.
And so nearly missed the front flaming up and quickly sat up, pulling her legs in. The doors are f*cking gone! She looked down at the shambling that actually got her to turn around. Hordes of walking skeletons. "That guy really is Hades..." Móirín pointed at the stage as if it were her discovery.
Móirín looked between the stage and the advancing skeletons while the speech finally sunk in. She had ten minutes to smash skeletons with no repercussions and this life was real. Bubbling with laughter and pointedly ignoring the weapon rack behind her, Móirín drew her own sword and tumbled to the ground. Leapt too quickly. She didn't stay there. Her sword made a terrible screech while she dragged it and herself up and charged screaming straight into the zombies nearest to the person from earlier.
Móirín swung with barely any technique but it was hard to go wrong with a downward slash. She half-bisected, mostly dusted a skeleton approaching the group of cats and their actual owner and took its shield to bull rush a cluster of three.
"Hey, Weird," Móirín chirped at them, still not having gotten the cat owner's real name. "That's really Hades. These are hordes of summoned skeletons and we are freaking living Night of the Living Dead. Whooop!" Móirín raised her sword high and turned to the next one.

Katarina

Katarina tried to keep herself from having a panic attack. She needed to stay calm. To focus. She tried to sort through it. To quickly run through everything that had happened in the last minute and hoped it made sense.

Okay, okay. So. Creepy old man introduces himself as their founder. Gives a brief rundown that's not really a rundown because it barely tells them anything. Them gives them a chance to leave. Expect not really because they barely had a chance to breath before the doors slammed shut and condemned them to whatever horrid fates awaited them. Weapons appear from out of nowhere. Then skeletons crawl out of the ground like Evil Dead 3. She almost expected Bruce Campbell to show up any second and shout 'GROOVY'.

But Bruce Campbell wasn't here. They were. As were the skeletons. Which were real. Even though they shouldn't be. Even though none of this should have been and none of this made sense and what were they even doing here and FUCK THEY WERE ALL GONNA DIE—

Suddenly her ears pricked. She could hear someone— no, some thing creep up one her from behind. Her eyes went sharp. Even sharper than they'd already been. Her fur bristled.

And then the claws came out.

Before she could even process it, her assailant had already been shredded to pieces. A skeleton, to be specific. She looked down at her paws. At her long steely claws. Sharp enough to cut through near anything. Skeletons included.

And she had sliced clean through it.

It took a few seconds for this to sink in. That she had done this. That her whole life she had been some defenceless babe before being turned into a carnival attraction.

And now she was probably one of the most deadly creatures in the room.

It was just a bit funny.

In fact, it was so funny, she couldn't help but laugh. And laugh. And laugh and laugh and laugh until she was practically roaring. She wasn't sure if it was because the tables had turned or she was reaching the culmination of her month-long nervous breakdown. But it didn't matter.

They wanted a piece of her? Then they'd have to take it from her cold dead paws.

She tore into them, leaping forward with a mighty hiss and acting largely on instinct. She hadn't seen a single second of combat or been through a shred of training, but her body didn't care. It knew what to do. With a stunning mix of ferocity and grace, she cleaved straight through, ripping into them like a whirlwind and leaving piles of bones in her wake.

Despite all that, she couldn't wonder what was scarier. That she might slip up and collapse to the floor once the adrenaline wore off...

...or that she was actually enjoying this.

"Shit shit shit shit shit!" Juliana yelled, watching the arrow clatter uselessly off the skeleton's foot for the fifth time. God, she didn't know how to use any of these weapons! Why had she immediately gone for the hardest one?! Oh god, she was going to die. She should've taken her dad showing up as an omen and avoided this stupid school like the plague.

"Fucking son of a—" She scrambled out of the way of a sword, the skeleton holding it doing its best approximation of a grin. "Could someone please kill this thing?!"

Actually, someone did. Or rather, multiple someones. All twelve of Shea's cats dashed over and pounced on the skeleton. It didn't last long against the kitty onslaught, quickly crumbling into bones.

Juliana blinked. "Huh." She thought cats had just...liked her. Was she some sort of cat whisperer now?

Oh, whatever. Wouldn't be the weirdest thing to happen to her.

Shea

“No, wait–!”

Shea watched in mute horror as their beloved kitties rushed at one of the skeletons, only to stand there slackjawed as they proceeded to rip it to shreds. The halberd fell from their grip, and they looked down at their hands. Their palms were bleeding. The soft skin had been penetrated by their own fingernails, which had elongated into–

Shea looked up at the rampaging Katarina.

Then their cats, who'd by now returned to their side.

Then their hands again, except this time they delicately ran their tongue over their apparently sharpened teeth also. Their tail curled and uncurled. Their ears twitched...

...Oh.

“My name's Shea, love...” they murmured faintly to Morin, shaking their head as they kicked aside the halberd at their feet. “I'm still weird... but I think I'm...”

They bounced on the balls of their feet a moment, before lowering their head and narrowing their now slitted eyes at one of the skeletons. Without warning they suddenly burst forward with inhuman speed, leaping twice to close the gap before drawing back their arm and throwing it forward in a claw-assisted swipe across the skeleton's abdomen. With bulging muscles that were surely not present earlier, they cut it in half with relatively little effort—before hopping back to Mórín's side again, flexing their arm and rolling it about in its socket as it shrunk back into normality.

“...I'm thinkin' I may be weirdly useful. What about you?”

Rebecca - Spooky Scary Skeletons

She hadn't gotten more than a glance at the words "Patron of the Sewers" before the orientation started and she had bigger things to worry about. The actual gods who were their teachers for one. And the actual literal undead hordes for another.

"This is a school?!!!"

Rebecca had never even been in a schoolyard tussle, let alone an actual fight. What the hell was she supposed to do? While she was panicking, a skeleton that wasn't busy getting mauled by the other students managed to sneak up on her side.

She only had half a second to register this before the dirt on her arm suddenly coalesced into a spike and impaled it through the skull.

"What?!"

She grabbed at the spike with her other hand. It was solid, but as she held it, it broke from her arm and changed into something resembling a spear. A spear made of dirt.

"Okay. Okay!"

The Beautiful Trap - Oh

Móirín stomped her feet into the ground to keep her balance. After she'd almost been tripped by stampeding cats from nowhere. "Hey!" She came over to keep the cats in the clear. "Where are you running off to in the middle of a Romero—" She turned briefly to see where they were going only to whip her head around when the weapon 'Weird' had been holding hit the ground.
...Oh. She moved and turned alot. Between armies of killer cats and Shea hulking out. She stared when Shea returned swinging(?) her arm back to size. And only barely had to time to duck under and grab an incoming spear and Frisbee toss her shield. Which wasn't a Frisbee and went wildly off course.
Móirín stared at the skeleton a moment and she could've sworn that it stared back. Except it didn't have eyes. "...I meant to do that." Another beat. And Móirín mercifully ended the moment, dragging the skeleton over by its weapon to meet a basic punch in the skull.
"I think..." She stared at her roughly scrapped hand. "trying to catch bladed weapons on old splintery wood is a stupid move. And that I'm the only non-demigod around here..." Sighting, Móirín carefully closed her prosthetic hand into a tight grip over her sword handle and slipped her other arm out of the top of her shirt, leaving the sleeve awkwardly hanging and the top stretched but...
Nearly a dozen eyes, rolling in the arm peered around, locking onto moving targets and staring down the things of interest and trembling and making wet sounds when too many moved at once. Well, I can see now. "By the way, you never saw this."

Jirou

Jirou settled into his seat next to Rebecca, taking his phone back once she was done reading the page on Cloacina. Like the rest of the students, his attention was drawn to the speakers on stage, who introduced themselves as Aphrodite and Hades.

Ah, so that explains why I got that scholarship... he nodded to himself. Despite the deception, Jirou didn’t mind the circumstances at all. At least people seemed friendlier and he wouldn’t have to pretend to be mortal all the time it seemed. Then Hades summoned a veritable arsenal of weapons and skeletons began pouring out into the stage as the auditorium became a battleground. “Oh, now this is starting to feel like home.” Jirou laughed as he grabbed a Kanabo off the weapon rack and gave it a couple of test swings to familiarize himself with it.

“You guys better not die on me this early!” He called out, smashing two nearby skeleton apart in one swing of the spiked club and blasting another with a hex. “Get the pets and anyone fragile in a group! Keep an eye out for any unwanted surprises!”

"Yeah, you do that!" Juliana hollered, stabbing a skeleton's eye socket with an arrow. "I'll just be over here, completely failing to archery properly in any way at ALL—!"

She ducked under a sword swing, then swept her leg out, kicking out the skeleton's knee cap. "Oh, fuck this," she muttered, throwing the bow to the side.

She grabbed one of the nearby foldable chairs, folded it into its flat form, and smashed the skeleton on the head with it, shattering its skull. Then, she threw it at an approaching group of skeletons, bowling them over.

"Ha..." Juliana rubbed her temples with two fingers. "Can we pretend ten minutes have passed? I'm already so done with this shit."

Katarina

Katarina was slicing and dicing her way through hordes of skeletons as chaos continued to reign. By now, she was enraptured. Nearly being slaughtered by undead goons, the school founder being responsible, her own freakish existence? None of that mattered. She was engrossed in a neverending whirlwind of carnage and violence, and she couldn't get enough. She had never felt this alive, and she adored every minute of it.

Until she noticed Juliana out of the corner of her eye. And what was coming after her. A large-ass skeleton was stomping towards her from the back, and it was just about let loose a large bony fist and bash her skull in.

She didn't even think. She leaped in headfirst, ducking under the skeleton and getting in front of Juli. With a growl, she held up her arms, her eyes glowing bright.

And suddenly the both of them were surrounded by a bright yellow forcefield.

Well.

That was new.

The creature tried to attack them, but no matter how many times it smashed it, it wouldn't break. Just as it seemed about to retreat, she let it drop, only to smash the skeleton to pieces.

She stood there, the adrenaline still rushing to her brain, filling her with a sheer sense of excitement and bloodlust.

But she knew who her friends were.

Didn't she?

She tilted her head, eying Juli like a lion on the hunt. It was getting harder to think. Or was it easier?

Things seemed so much simpler when your instincts were running on overdrive.

Robin

In the back of the room, sitting quietly (as they always did) had been Robin, listening intently to the opening speech to the group. Of course, they had known for a little while that they were descended from Loki, but to find out that the whole lot of them had divine or heroic ancestry? Colour them surprised.

Even more surprising was when they were told to "survive" and the principal had vanished, leaving behind racks of weapons and an army of skeletons rising out of the ground, Robin's eyes going wide.

"Wait WHAT?!"

They dived out of their chair, scrambling for the racks of weapons on all fours. Their hands fumbled, grasping over the hilt of some kind of really knife.

Dagger.

The thought entered their mind as they pulled themselves off the ground, waving the dagger wildly at what skeletons approached them. Eventually the wild flailing turned to precise slashes and cuts, muscles moving on their own. That intuitive ability wasn't quite something new to them, but to suddenly use a weapon when Robin hadn't fought a day in their life? That was.

"Wh-What the hell?"

They gazed at the pile of bones in front of them, the aftermath of their wild-turned-skilled flurry of swipes. They stared at the dagger in their hands, and then on some skeletons approaching the others.

"Uh...here goes I guess."

Pulling their arm back, they hurled the knife at one of the skeletons, the hilt of the dagger expertly impacting against its skull, bouncing off and spinning into the skull of another one nearby. Both skulls flew off, leaving a dumbfounded Robin staring at their own handiwork. A 'holy shit' nearly escaped their mouth before they realized that maybe that wasn't something to be said if the divine actually existed.

That one girl was using a folding chair like this was a wrestling match right out of WWE. Well, if anyone was one to relate to right now, it was her. She didn't seem to have any powers of use in a situation like this, and Robin wasn't exactly a deity of battle themselves. So of course they ran towards her, grabbing a chair of their own, and with a leap, smashed the folded chair against one of the skeletons approaching her, giving her a brief nod as it crumbled, already raising it like a shield. Blood was pumping like crazy, heart beating like an out-of control drum as their head felt fuzzy.

"You and me both, girl."

"Woah!" Juliana yelled as both Katarina and someone else she didn't recognize leapt in to destroy some skeletons she hadn't noticed. "Th-thanks for the save," she said, nodding at Katarina. She then turned to the new person. "What's your name?"

Though she couldn't help but notice that Katarina was looking a little...wild. Maybe too wild. She wondered if maybe she should use her cat whisperer powers.

No, that wouldn't go over well. Instead, she grabbed another chair, folded it, and whacked a skeleton upside the head, severing its skull from its body.

Auditorium

Hades watched through the flames with great interest as the students fought their hardest to survive, some showing themselves to be above and beyond the quality he had expected for newcomers. "Maybe this year will be different."

Aphrodite turned to Hades with a frown. "What do you mean?"

"I was just thinking, maybe this year the students will actually survive their first year." Hades words were cold as ice from behind his curtain of flames, but all the same anger twisted the beautiful face of Aphrodite into a terrifying thing.

"Enough." with a wave of her hand the flames dimmed down to nothing. A masterwork bow appeared in her hand, an odd power that seemed to flow throughout the room. "Begone." she loosed the bow and hundreds of lights exploded out from it, striking down the skeletons one after the other until they were reduced to nothingness under the assault. "I'll have to thank my husband and Artemis for the gift." the bow disappeared from her hands and a beautiful smile came over her lips. "You've all performed amazingly, as your future homeroom teacher I couldn't be more proud of you."

Hades glowered at the goddess for a moment before giving a small nod of his head. "Indeed, your performances today were beyond what could be expected from those who have yet to receive training, for that you should feel proud." despite the words of praise his tone didn't seem to convey anything more then dull surprise. "Feel free to take any remaining seats or sit on the ground if you wish, I am sure that all of you have questions so I will answer them."

His eyes flashed over the crowd for a moment before continuing. "The first and most obvious is that yes, many myths that the modern age have relegated to fairy tales and ancient stories are very much real. My family once guided the Greeks and Romans. Britain was once united under a man wielding a legendary sword while under the advisement of a wizard. Many Pharaohs held strange and mythic powers and left curses in their tombs that we keep needing to clean up with humans trample upon them." a note of annoyance entered his voice at that, but he simply moved past.

"You are here because you are in someway connected to the divine, to be taught how to use your abilities and master both them and yourselves in order to protect the world from the Outer Beings." he waved his hand and images appeared behind him showing terrifying monsters. A being wrapped in a ragged black coat that hide away its form, only a shining silver mask giving any indication that it was empty. From where its legs should have been spread a multitude of tendrils, some ending in sharp blades, others in mouths and eyes. Another showed what appeared to be a normal Caucasian woman, but upon closer inspection it was easy to see how the skin hung on her wrong, and as the image moved her mouth opened to reveal hundreds of swarming insects passing through her body.

"They are gods, monsters, and even alien beings from beyond the realm of the gods control. Where they touch they corrupt and turn it into their domain, which the divine born of this world cannot touch or effect. However as you are, between both this world and ours, its possible for you to challenge them."

Hades closed his eyes and sighed before turning away. "Answer any of their remaining questions and then take them to the dorms, apparently the staff are having an issue." With that said Hades disappeared, leaving Aphrodite before the class.

"Well then, now that he is gone," Aphrodite stepped down and clapped her hands, the entire room reforming itself as if no grand battle had just taken place, more food and drink appearing before the students. "Why don't you rest and ask one question apiece, and after you are nice and full I'll show you to your new home!"

Shea

Okay. Fighting was over now, apparently. The vision was... confusing. And ominous. It was honestly a blast of information that they'd need to process later. Shea blinked at Aphrodite with a look of cautious curiosity, having eyed the display involving her bow before letting themselves drop out of their tense stance. They only relaxed completely once Hades had left. They decided they liked the goddess a lot more than him.

“I'm thinking I've more questions than I've words,” they mumbled, rubbing the back of their head before grabbing something completely randomn from the food table and plopping down against the pillar again as they munched away at it. “I thought I were just weird. But those claws and teeth... I don't know what they are.”

Their tail looped around their waist again, and they looked down at it dismally. They poked at it daintily with their finger, before reaching out for one of their wandering cats and placing it into their lap for comfort—idly stroking it as they finally managed to look up at Aphrodite again.

“...Do you... know what I am?”

Juliana gasped in surprise as the skeletons were destroyed by the arrows of light. "What the...okay, then." Apparently, the goddess of love and beauty was much more of a badass than she thought.

Taking a seat on one of the few chairs that hadn't been destroyed in the fight, Juliana listened intently to Hades' speech. Outer Beings, huh? So I guess those are like Titans and— Oh, ew. She cringed at the woman with insects inside her. Maybe not Titans.

Hades then left the stage, and Aphrodite took over, fixing the room and summoning more food. Unable to help herself, Juliana grabbed a cookie from the table.

"I have some questions," she said. "Like...who works here? Are there other gods or is it just you two? How did you find out about our heritages? And why don't the gods appear to mortals anymore?"

Jirou hefted the Kanabo on his shoulder as the skeletons were suddenly decimated by countless arrows of light. His disguise had long since faded early in the fight, exposing his Oni form. “Huh, I guess that’s godly might for you. If a love goddess could do that” he whistled, and glanced around to see how the group he had spoken to was faring. “You guys doing alright? Nobody dead?” He called out. “It would be a damn shame to cremate ya.”

Jirou sat cross-legged and paid attention to Hades’ explanation, idly noting some of the creatures they were to face. “Aphrodite-sensei. Since this is a school, what are we going to learn to help us with this task?” He spoke.

Katarina

Katarina would have had questions. Many questions. Such as how eldritch abominations could actually be a thing. Or why they had been drafted into a possibly hopeless war against their will. Or why they hadn't been told any of this in the first place.

Unfortunately, she wasn't in a state to ask any of them.

With the danger gone, the rush of adrenaline was starting to fade, as was her sheer feral ferocity. Her instincts faded, replaced with a sense of clarity. As well as an overwhelming feeling of exhaustion. Her energy gone, she found herself stumbling on her elongated feet, falling to the ground like a drunk on stilts.

Hopefully someone would catch her.

Rebecca

Rebecca hadn’t managed much more than clumsily slaying a few skeletons with her dirt-spear when the teachers clearly decided they’d had enough and put on a really impressive light show. With the threat gone, she relaxed and said spear dissolved back into mere dirt.

Then they explained that this was demigod military academy, and she wasn’t really sure if she was down for that.

But putting that aside, it was apparently Q&A time, and questions were one thing she had plenty of right now.

“What the fuck?” Okay, maybe a more specific question was in in order.

“How come Juliana and Soldier Boy and Demon Boy and them knew about this already, but nobody ever came and told me ‘hey, don’t know if you realized, but you aren’t human’? Because until 10 minutes ago, I didn’t realize, and now I’m just here reflecting on the life choices that led me to this point.”

She was rambling. She couldn’t help it, she was nervous.

“Whoa there.”

Jirou moved over to catch Katarina as she swayed and fell over, preventing her from banging her head on the floor. “Relax, you fought well.” He chuckled as he lowered her onto a nearby seat.

Once Jirou was sure Katarina was properly situated, he turned to answer Rebecca. “Well I can’t speak for the Warrior or Juliana, but I was raised in a supernatural community. We have rules about what we can and cannot say in front of mortal.” He shrugged.

The Beautiful Trap - Oh

Móirín hastily slipped her arm back in the sleeve and smoothed her hair over her blind eye, peering all around somewhat looking for zombie stragglers and mostly looking for where people were looking.
"I think I'm alive," She commented to Jirou, leaning against a column and dusting herself off after releasing her sword form her hand. She put her sword back in its sheath but she wasn't sitting just yet. When would the next test be?
"..." As for questions, Móirín pointed at the dirt-spear-girl. "What she said." After a beat, she waved her hands. "Oh wait, did those tombs have treasures too? Do I still get to stay here for free? Do we have to eat MRI this whole time? Please tell me either Lovecraft or DnD have been writing about the 'Outer Things'. And do these outer beings know about us?" She counted her fingers a moment, eyes wandering. "Do we get buff dudes to forge us gleaming swords that cut through atoms? Oh, and fix our armor? Wait, we get armor right? And flying steeds?"

Juliana sighed. "I can speak for me," she said. "I had no clue initially. Then when I got the acceptance letter, my dad revealed himself in all his glory. He explained...well, nothing about the Outer Deities, but he did explain that he was a god, and that this academy was for demigods. Like me."

Then, Móirín asked...something. Juliana wasn't entirely sure what. She chose to ignore it, instead looking up at Aphrodite. "Is it...not normal for your divine parent to visit you?"

"Kept me waiting, haven’t you? Tch. No matter. Dawdle all you’d like. In the end, your defeat remains inevitable."
