Should You Know That Show be renamed?

Change it. Change to "Media Finder". That name fits much better.

We like Work Finder better (upvoted), but Media Finder is fine too (null voted).

We also like the alliteration of Media Matcher (also null voted), but that one is clearly not winning without a sudden and probably suspicious rally.

We downvoted the other three.

If you're looking for a specific trope whose name is on the tip of your tongue, head to Trope Finder.
If you're looking for a specific work whose name is on the tip of your tongue, head to <Media Finder/Work Finder/whatever>.

That was one of the suggestions on the first page and it was pointed out that it could make it seem like it's show-specific when it's actually for all forms of media. But feel free to add it or any other suggestions to the crowner, just make a note of it in the thread if you do.

I think it's fair to add. Adding. Trope Finder is also used to find trivia and YMMV which aren't tropes, so maybe people will understand it's not just strictly shows.

Of all these I guess "work finder" is probably the lesser evil, but YKTS is not a search engine. You don't "Find a work", you ask people for help in finding it.

If you want to get technical (and this thread wouldn't be happening if you weren't) "Work identification miniforum" would be a more accurate name.

Everyone knows that and there's nothing about that name that suggests it's a search engine. The finder part is there to match Trope Finder.

Oh ok, new people have used YKTS and Trope Finder as search engines but that's more because they are new more than anything. That's not something that happens often.

The other problem with the name "media finder" is that there's a dropdown to select a particular medium. The user is trying to find a work, not a medium; most of the time they already know what medium the work is on.

Mmm, good point about Find A Work. That was my suggestion but since it seems unworkable I'll switch to a downvote.

The use of "media" to refer to works of art is already widespread — as far as we can tell, more widespread than the use of "work" to refer to works of art, even if it's technically less correct. Feel free to rally behind Work Finder instead if you think it'd be clearer, but people are not substantially more likely to be confused about Media Finder than they already are about You Know That Show.
