Does anyone else here know about this musical? I'm not that much into historical dramas, or even into Broadway, but this show has a fantastic Villain Song from prime minister Eduard Taaffe. It's been stuck in my head for days.

Possible trigger warning: There is another video on YouTube with a live performance of the German version, and it uses realistic props of people hanging. That's part of the story. (This song takes place in a nightmare the protagonist has.) I would suggest not looking it up if you're sensitive to that sort of thing. The videos I've posted here are safe, though.

I know of this show as it's kind of an unofficial spinoff of Elisabeth, which is one of my favourite musicals.

Has a lot of the same cast (German Theatre is relatively tiny). Love me some Uwe Kroger XD

There was a production in Korean and I'm desperate to hear... just that song. It is an excellent villain song and the rest of the show is... ehhh,

I personally found out about it through Polish covers from Studio Accantus (might be familiar to some):

Du Bleibst Bei Mir (You'll Stay With Me): https://youtu.be/u2oVFQjlD-A?si=AXYOqOFNURnsIpOC Wenn Das Schicksal Dich Ereilt (When Fate Catches Up To You): https://youtu.be/Czs4sk7eFr0?si=2w3DSBh7Lt6vr744 And this one: https://youtu.be/deNnftFxh1I?si=_At1gMWLKcp4pTHW

There is more, but I don't have them "on hand". Anyway, those covers are in my opinion superb and through them I fell in love with the entire thing. I believe there was a full recording somewhere on You Tube with English subtitles, or at least used to. Never had time to watch it in one go, but my impression was generally positive.

This thread may be inactive for about half a year, but since now the Elisabeth page is undergoing some major renovations... maybe it's time to finally create a Rudolf page too?

Go ahead and make a page. I've had to make pages for all my favorite musicals. If anyone has seen Beethoven Secret, that also needs a page.
