The main characters belong to a paramilitary drug company that uses its patients as soldiers and they're the good guys.

At least Rhodes Island main goal is to find a cure of Oripathy while the governments of the world treat their infected with various degrees of seregeation, outright hostility or just want the infected killed. And there's the Infected rights group turn anarchist military force Reunion.
I just realized that there are official trailers on youtube. At this very least they should help you get a feel for the tone of the story:
Huh, that looks like an early design for Amiya in the shot with the song information. Same pose as the later core visuals with her and the Doctor, though.
It's been fun.Time to shamelessly admit that I've been listening to Starset just because of these trailers
@Muffins: It's a grid-based tower defense game. Place Operators on the field to stop enemies from getting to your base.
It's been fun.Well truth be told a lot of gameplay trailers are equally unreliable these days.
Video Game marketing in general just has been giving plenty to complain about over the years, s'all.
Thread title changed per request.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanThe boss of chapter 4 is pretty tough.
Resumed playing the story, and Kal'tsit is already my favorite character.
The burn she gave to the Inspector Javert lady is a thing of beauty.
I like Kal'tsit because she has the guts to call the avatar character a piece of shit in a gacha game.
I'd love to get the context behind that outburst, 'cause I'm guessing it doesn't come from the story so much as the misterious past we have.
I'd be great if the whole thing was actually just an elaborate Red Herring.
Going through the introduction now... I expected it to be a lot more lighthearted. It's really funny when a game takes itself so seriously and then immediately throws a bunny-eared imouto in your face.
Hmm, I probably wouldn't describe Amiya that way. She's very much the main character here and she manages stands on her own without being overly reliant on her relationship with the Doctor. As a character I mean.
I mean she does have bunny ears, but you just have to be able to roll with the conceit that everyone just has animal ears in this setting.

Yeah, I have to say that seeing things like Kal'tsit and Amiya having signed off on whatever "burn the records, purge the database, no one speaks of this ever" thing is going on with Projekt Red does sell the idea that she's stronger than she initially comes off.
It's been fun.I'm rather interested in the fact that according to Kal'tsit's profile, Amiya knows she's being used for an ulterior motive, but is okay with it for now.

I mean we flat-out have a Dog Man in this setting, just roll with it.
Didn't ruin Beastars, shouldn't ruin this.
Also, well, the implication of the Doctor having lost their memories is that Some Shit Went Down and by inference Amiya Saw Some Shit Go Down.

Wonder if there's gonna be some Prototype-style reveal where it shows that the Doctor was actually kind of an asshole.
I mean, with the exception of Not!Mash, no one seems to actually like us much.
What interests me is that the Doctor clearly wasn't part of Rhodes Island, even before their memory loss. Kal'tsit and Closure seem to remember you, but everyone else is like "who the literal hell are you", even seemingly senior members like Dobermann.
It's been fun.As a Dark Souls fan, I am legally obligated to share this with you all.
By "Prototype", you mean the video game where you are the walking virus with shapeshifting Lovecraftian powers?
With Great Power, Comes Great Motivation
It also seems more consistently grim than say FGO, which goes up and down on the sliding scale a madman high on cocaine, and Granblue which is idealistic throughout but does do some really fucked up stuff on the side gigs like Arcarum.
Which is about the only part of the story I have no major complaints on because I like dwelling in the misery of the human condition.
