I wonder if they won't allude to certain characters without necessarily actually showing them directly - though if they have Johanna Constantine then they have some rights.
"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."Guessing her “expanded role” is due to John being Exiled from Continuity while in the Arrowverse.
Don't know if this has been announced elsewhere, but Neil said that Season 1 will cover 18 issues in 11 episodes. So I'm guessing Preludes and Nocturnes and The Doll's House, with a couple of stories from Dream Country thrown in as fillers. Nevermind, it was on the first page of this thread.

Echoing hymn of my fellow passerine | Art blog (under construction)Netflix just dropped a behind the scenes sneak peak, and I'm not gonna lie, it looks pretty damned amazing. It seems like Netflix is going all in with fantasy series, which I appreciate. And Gaimen himself seems genuinely excited which is always a good sign.
That did look pretty cool, although of course it was meant to and it's hard to read a lot into <2mins.
Still cautiously optimistic, and Gaiman's involvement/enthusiasm is definitely a plus.
"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."Some stuff can be use pratical efect like the cereal convention for example, but stuff went sandman enter in dreams and stuff will require more pratical efect, specially on damn trippy this stuff can be.
Also I dont think they will bring dr destinty, even gailman agree that tie him to DC was a mistake.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"Destiny has already been cast.
David Thewlis is playing him.
And can I say that is an amazing 10/10 casting. Like Holy shit I couldn't ask for a better choice.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."Destiny and Dr. Destiny are two different characters.
Oh Hes been cast as Doctor Destiny /John Dee.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."A Sandman panel will kick off Hour 2 of Netflix’s Tudum event tomorrow. The thing starts at 9AM PT.

Echoing hymn of my fellow passerine | Art blog (under construction)HOLY CRAP THAT LOOKS AMAZING
Like some of those shots are literally frame by frame recreations from the comic (especially the shot of Dream on the ground covered by his cloak)
I am SO stoaked for this.
If this means what I think it means, it looks like this will be a pretty faithful retelling of the first issue at the very least.
It's been 3000 years…I like the look. I am definitely looking forward to seeing how they pull off the duel in Hell
"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."So how much is the first season adapting.
Their is no way they can do the entire comic run in Netflix season so what point do you think is apprpiate for them to stop
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."I believe they said the first season would only adapt Preludes and Nocturnes, so up until "The Sound of Her Wings" (Death's first appearance).

The Sound of Her Wings is pretty short. I wouldn't be surprised if we get an episode based on it as part of the season.
Echoing hymn of my fellow passerine | Art blog (under construction)They'd probably need a ton of seasons to adapt everything, though obviously that depends on how successful it is. One per book/arc is the obvious starting point, but since they vary in length that's unlikely to work strictly.
The Audible adaptations seem to be around 10 hours each "part" (though each of those is subdivided into smaller parts/chapters) which seems feasible for a TV series, The first "season" of Audible Sandman covers Preludes and Nocturnes, The Doll's House, and Dream Country though obviously a different medium means it won't be 1:1 beat for beat.

"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."Tbf this is also Netflix
They may cancel it before the third season.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."Also true, though not guaranteed. As it does have an actual ending as per the books it might end up seeing it through, though with Netflix and their mysterious algorithms who knows for sure.

"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."I am desperately hoping Sandman S2 is spared from Netflix's seemingly inevitable purge of original content with their rebudgeting, but anyway, here is the Geeked Week trailer, which is kinda built on Sandman hype. We get glimpses of Morpheus and Lucifer in action:
Depends on what they have the rights to use. I don't think too much of it is explicitly necessary, TBH, beyond the Constantine family. They are, however, using Dr. Destiny at least.
