New video, about urbanism!
Starts by debunking a few misconceptions about the countryside being "better", and then goes through a little history of modern urban planning and how the Newcastle-born Abby ended up in London.
Also, crossover!
it also doubles as a lession on phantasms
Is there much philosophy in this one? The premise seems off topic.
It's in the last third or so of the video. The talk about gentrification and such is for context

Yeah, though it’s more about psychology and sociology than philosophy per se − how people end up covinced by a contradictory and (deliberately) nonsensical logic that fixing a problem would cause them harm and that the ones trying to fix it are part of some giant evil conspiracy.
Even the urbanism part is a lot about how the way the cities are built shape us and our social interactions (or lack thereof).

For the last third, it really does capture the surrealness a few years back now of discussing 15 minutes cities and the benefits plus the draw backs of possible gentrification, making sure they are accessible to everyone even those with mobility related disabilites etc in my corner of Twitter and than me foolishly clicking the trending tag and getting a bunch of non-sensual conspiracy theories about government control

Abigail has sadly been drafted into the Star War I hope for her safe return.
Oof… I mean I’m happy her career is taking off but… talk about a poisoned gift. May she stay away from the Star Wars fandom. >.>
She must be giddy at the thought.
I hope she does her Newcastle accent, there's not enough north on the galaxy far far away.
Really enjoying today's episode on Judith Butler and the backlash their writing has faced in the past decades and in the now.
Paired with an amazing framing device that is filled with heart. Oh Abigail talking with her past pre-transition self and being met with rejection from them. Ow my feelings. Excellent piece of drama excellently acted.
I especially appreciated discussing how governments charging people as dangerous is something that can not be tested or verified, especially not by a court of law which means charging people as dangerous allows the government to circumvent the courts.
The exploration of phantasms and why people default to emotions and vibes in their understanding of threats and feel threatened by research or academia was also interesting. I've long been noticing the anti-sementic vibes to the anti gender movement so I appreciated having that explored.
Watching the recent video of dang it's hitting me where I live.
Coming from an abusive household that subjected me to financial abuse that forced me into homelessness meant I already held the ideology that the family institution exists to make people unnaturally financially dependent on each other, but gosh hearing "What is the family if not a justification for abandoning the poor" was powerful in how blunt it was.
Regardless I laughed with satisfaction all the same to see The Arsonist return.
"What is the feminist equivalent of blowing up a pipeline" is an excellent line.
Edit: I've grappled for a long time with my anger over how my parents were just trusted with the power to decide if I was homeless or no, and Abigail's video has been really cathartic on that front.
