…So wait, did he actually buy all those Planter Peanuts? >.>
Probably. It feels like a dig at Right-wing idiots who don't know how to boycott or protest.
My various fanfics. He clearly bought some, but I doubt he spent $100.
I remember Dork Tower was making fun of that when I was in secondary school in the early 2000s.
- Bill: Why did sales spike last week?
Leslie: Pokémon cards.
Bill: I thought they were in decline.
Leslie: They were until the Christians started buying them all to burn them. It's all part of their master plan to bring us to our knees.
Bill: By making us incredibly wealthy?
Christian: AND THERE'S MORE WHERE THAT CAME FROM!

Man, the "I bought" slip is one of the biggest WTF moment I've seen in 2020 so far.
I mean, yeah, you know how if you follow money there's no end to it and all, but man, someone actually saying it in front of live cameras is a whole another thing.

Who can bet Trump?
Spoiler: Sanders and Biden both have decent odds, but Sanders is more likely. Cody debunks the right-wing meme that the Democrats lost the last election because they've gone too far to the left and lost moderates.
Ukrainian Red CrossOne thing I've learned from French elections is that leftwing governments always have very centrist, if not outright right-leaning policies… after they've been elected. François Mitterrand in 1981, the left coalition in the 1997 parliament elections and François Hollande in 2012 all ran on a decidedly leftwing platform (and then proceeded to implement very little of it), while Lionel Jospin in 1995 and 2002 and Segolène Royal in 2007, who ran on more moderate platforms, were both trounced. Even in 2017 the only leftwing candidate that scored reasonably high was the most radical one, Jean-Luc Mélenchon.
It goes for the right too − Nicolas Sarkozy won the election by appealing to far-right voters, not to centrists.
Yet there's still this assumption in the media that elections are won in the center. I mean, that's what Emmanuel Macron did, admittedly, but he benefitted from a number of almost suspiciously miraculous circumstances.

...I think he's misrepresenting the data. Obama was the more moderate option in the 2008 primary. Gore had a reputation as something of a firebrand at the time. What wins isn't leftist policies so much as having a vision, and being able to sell it to people. And Bernie has had difficulty with that last part. Like, I agree that Biden's not that strong of a candidate, but I'm not sure Sanders is much better
(more insane)
Uuh, thanks Cody, I feel better now. (As in, not as bad as you.)
Definitely still not going insane.
Doggie!
Cody (as in the real Cody, not the News Dude) actually is struggling. When they talked about it on the most recent podcast, he seized up and was unable to speak for about a minute due to being overcome with emotion at the whole thing.
Ukrainian Red Cross
Excellent, excellent episode. (I'm not caught up on the older ones and podcasts, though. )
The talk about "The Event"... that was rich. I'm gonna need to read the article quoted by Cody.
It's all so messed up.
I will admit, this pandemic has made me... hate most celebrities.
Like, every single one who sang "Imagine" should have all their possessions and money taken away and given to the poor. Imagine no possessions, right?
My various fanfics.Cody is fine.
…Wait, Sanders has stepped down?
Now I'm worried for Cody's mental health. >.>
Cody has a nemesis.
The reduction in air pollution doesn't just directly save lives; recent evidence is that smog causes and exacerbates Alzheimer's, so clean air has that going for it too.
Ukrainian Red CrossThe right's love of pollution has always struck me as weird. Whether or not you think climate change is real, we can all agree that breathing polluted air is bad, right?
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them. The right's love of pollution is one of many ways they've forced me to reconsider writing Captain Planet villains off as unrealistic.
What it boils down to is that a lot of right-wing rhetoric stems from flat-out machismo. The right wants the ability to rub their balls on everything they see without anyone being allowed to tell them no. Their leaders are the kind of people who, if told not to pee into a potted planet, would proceed to unzip and do it directly in front of whoever told them not to, while staring that person in the eyes as an intimidation measure.
Environmentalists have been telling them not to pollute. So that just makes them want to pollute harder, just to screw the environmentalists. To these people, everything is a competition and life is only worth living if you're winning.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.I take it that means they're fond of races to the bottom them?
