Yu-Gi-Oh BLANK

Mara clicked her tongue, gave Jo an okay sign with her hand, and caught some texts before ambling onto the field. She idly shuffled her deck, wondering who she'd be facing. Nobody in this room, luckily, but still, hopefully just a worse casual than her at this phase.

Yuria Vs Sasha

Sasha drew another card.

"You have no idea how long it's been since I've gone bellow 4000 life points in a tournament," She said, with much more energy then at the start of the duel, "My locals have become so boring."

"Don't think that means I'll let you win," Sasha declared, "I'll activate Moray of Greed!"

The spell card appeared on the field. "Now," She explained, "I can shuffle 2 Water monsters from my hand into my deck, then I can draw 3 cards." Sasha held up 2 cards, Giski Noellia and Gishki Marker, "So I'll shuffle Noellia and Marker from my hand into my deck."

Mara Vs Chione

Mara's opponent was the darker skinned girl that almost reacted to Scott's statement of Triamid support earlier. Upon closer inspection, she was wearing a denim jacket over a sleeveless shirt. Her hair was done into a massive ponytail.

Her duel disk's parts were colored Red, White, and Black, with a few yellow highlights painted in.

"Hello," Chione said, "Let's get right to it."

"That is... nice, I suppose." Yuria made a half-shrug. But I shaved off 80% of her LP in one turn! And I know what Moray of Greed does, thank you very much.

Yuria Vs Sasha

Sasha put the other two cards into her duel disk, which automatically shuffled them into her deck before she drew 3 cards.

"Excellent," She said, looking at her new hand, "Now I'll activate Gishki Aquamirror!"

When she placed the card onto her duel disk, the magical mirror the card depicted appeared hovering in front of her.

"I can now Ritual Summon a Gishki monster by tributing monsters that are either in my hand or under my control. But, they have to equal or surpass the level of the Gishki I'm want to summon." She took a card from her hand and sent it to the graveyard. The card was Gishki Shadow.

"But," She added, "Gishki Shadow can act as the whole tribute if I'm summoning a water monster.''

The mirror turned to face Yuria. Instead of her reflection, there was the reflection of a massive black-skinned beast. From what Yuria could see, it had 4 arms, was covered in spikes, and clad in golden armor.

"We summon you from the tainted depths," Sasha chanted as 10 ocean blue flames appeared around the mirror, "Destroy my enemies. Ritual Summon, Come forth Gishki Zielgigas!" As she said the name of the monster, the 10 flames coverged into the mirror, colliding with it and creating a massive explosion of steam.

When the steam cleared, the monster shown in the mirror was there. It was enormous, towering over even Poseidra. (3200/0)

Yuria flinched at the sight of the black multi-armed demon. She fought hard to keep her teeth from clattering. The neck implanted started to blip rapidly again. Okay, too early to celebrate. Got it.

"Aha, another Earth User, haven't seen Magnets in a good minute!" Jo said with a grin as he examined his hand. "Alright, well, I'll do you the honor and not hold back in the slightest! I summon Gouki Suprex to the field!" He called out, pressing the card to the disk and letting the blue suited wrestler form up, the T-Rex themed warrior giving a quick pose before gesturing back to Jo with a "Come On!" gesture. "When Suprex is summoned to the field, I'm allowed to special summon one of his partners to the stage as well, and I pick Gouki Bearhug!" He continued as a massive man like monster covered in bear pelts and wrestling tights appeared next to the fellow wrestler. "When Bearhug hits the field from a normal or special summon, I get to pick one monster on your side of the field and cut its attack in half!" He calls out as Missus Radiant drops to half its attack.

"Now that I've got two monsters on the field, I'll do my own link summoning, and I'll bring out the first of my Gouki Links, Gouki Heel Ogre!" At his shout, a bulky fighter in purple and black armor with hair ablaze with flame posed with his two sided kanabo raised in a ceremonial stance. "Once per turn When my Suprex and Bearhug are sent to the graveyard from the field, I get to draw a Gouki card of my choosing, one for each of them! And I'll use Bearhug to grab another Gouki Suprex, while the previous Suprex will pull out a Gouki Twistcobra. And I'll use the Gouki Headbatt in my hand to dump the Twistcobra to the Graveyard and summon Headbatt in defense position to the field, boosting my Heel Ogre by eight hundred attack points until the end of the turn." With that announcement, the armored fighter grew larger as a svelte looking, purple warrior landed on his shoulder, grinning mischievously.

"And now that my Heel Ogre is being boosted by Headbatt and your Missus Radiant, I'll have Heel Ogre attack your monster! Kanabo Strike!" he called out as the lumbering fighter lunged towards the regal beast and swung its spiked club down to crush it beneath him.

Scotty

"Alright, with those two out, I can now summon Upstart Golden Ninja in attack mode." He slid the card between the other two ninjas on the field, which was followed by a puff of smoke and a rather portly, out of shape looking ninja popping up, grinning and sticking a hand out.

"Next I use Upstart Golden Ninja's effect, sending one trap from my hand to the graveyard to special summon the Ninja Grandmaster Hanzo from my deck in defense mode!"

After sliding the card into the graveyard, the golden Ninja gestured at Scotty's deck, followed by another Ninja showing up, in a large cloud of smoke - a dark armored, illustriously decorated Ninja crouching on the field in defense mode.

"When Ninja Grandmaster Hanzo is special summoned, he adds a Ninja from my deck to my hand. I add another copy of Twilight Ninja Jogen." The card slid out at a gesture and Scotty added it to his hand.

"Now..." he snapped his fingers and a Link gate appeared above, "I use Grandmaster Hanzo and Upstart Golden Ninja as Link Material to Link Summon the Ninja Grandmaster Saizo!" The golden ninja turned into a blast of light while the dark armored ninja turned into a blast of darkness, hitting two arrows pointing down-left and down-right

A dark blue and silver armored ninja descended out of a twirling cloud of shadows, pointing to Jogen and an empty monster zone.

"Now I use Ninja Grandmaster Saizo's effect, setting a Ninjitsu Art from my deck." Saizo promptly performed several hand signs, and in tune with Scotty simply holding his hand by his deck, a particular Ninjitsu Art emerged and he set it to his field.

"Now I activate Ninjitsu Art of Notebook, and send one Ninja from my hand to the graveyard..." He slid the Twilight Shogun into the graveyard, and set a card...to his field spell zone.

"Now I activate Hidden Village of Ninjitsu Art."

Scotty's side of the field was quickly altered, resembling a hidden, secretive village - the sort a Ninja would call home. No sign of any orange jump-suited young ninjas though.

"And my next play is World Legacy Successor, which let's me revive a monster to a zone my Link monster, Ninja Grandmaster Saizo, points to. Thus I special summon Twilight Ninja Getsuga the Shogun in attack mode!"

The monster regally emerged out of a cloud, carrying numerous flags and wearing much more fitting armor for a general, including a moon shaped head piece.

"Which of course activates my field's effect. When I summon a Ninja, I add a Ninja or Ninjitsu Art from my graveyard to my hand." He calmly retrieved Ninjitsu Art of Shadow Sealing.

"And by changing the Shogun from offense to defense, I can special summon 2 Ninja monsters from my graveyard. Come forth Ninja Grandmaster Hanzo and Upstart Golden Ninja! I call Hanzo in attack mode and Golden Ninja in defense mode."

Both familiar monsters returned, Hanzo now more ready for battle as opposed to defense, and the Golden Ninja crossing his arms in front of his chest somewhat awkwardly.

"Now Hanzo activates...again! Ohh the benefits of no once per turn clause. I add Twilight Ninja Shingetsu to my hand." He once again retrieved another card, this time the infamously lock-involved Ninja.

Scotty grinned, "Now, nerd, I noticed you were really confident setting that one monster and no backrow. It's either got a nice flip effect...or its indestructible by battle. So, I activate my other Twilight Ninja Jogen in my left Pendulum Zone."

Jogen arose over his Pendulum Zone.

"Guess what? He gives all my Ninjas the abilities to slice right through that defense when they battle."

Scotty looked around and then smirked, "So why delay the inevitable? Ninja Grandmaster Saizo strikes your facedown monster. Silent Sword Strike!" Saizo basically blurred in his rush at the facedown before darting behind it and plunging his sword directly down at the monster in question.

"If you say so." Anna said nonchalantly as she held her Duel Disk out in front of her, its blade protruding into action.

As she drew out her hand, she looked upon it with curled lips, as if in disapproval. After a few seconds, she gave a shrug and slid a card into her Disk.

"I set a card and end my turn. Well, that was easy."

The blare of the intercom actually made Mellie jump a little bit, but she quickly calmed down and paid attention to the announcer. Curlin, Curlin... Nope, doesn't sound familiar. That's a shame, it means I'm pretty much going in blind. She laid a hand over her deck. It's fine, though. I'll be fine. I won the last few tournaments at school, I'll win this one. I'll be fine. She closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and let it out. Time to head out, then. Mellie opened her eyes, and found that the last few people were starting to filter out of the waiting room. She quickly jumped up and walked out after them, repeating to herself, I'll be fine. I'll be fine.

After walking into the stadium proper, Mellie was starting to reconsider how fine she was. There were... a lot of people in the crowd. She swallowed past her heart (which seemed to have leapt into her throat all of a sudden) and walked over to the duel field where her opponent already stood. It wasn't like she could back out now, of course. She wouldn't have, anyway; Mellie was nervous, true, but she was also excited to duel against someone who was all but certain to be better than most.

Yuria Vs Sasha

"Now, I'll activate Zielgigas' effect!" Sasha declared as a black aura appeared around her for a moment. (LP: 1700-700)

"I can draw 1 card, reveal it, and if it's a Gishki monster, I can shuffle 1 card you control into the deck."

She drew the top card of her deck and turned it over, revealing it to be Gishki Beast.

"Excellent, now I can shuffle Poseidra back into the deck!"

She gestured for Zielgigas to attack, doing so as the giant summoned a ball of pitch black water between two of it's arms. At her command, Zielgigas shot the ball at the sea dragon, which exploded into a black wave on impact. The wave engulfed Poseidra, wiping it from the field.

"Since I still have a normal summon, I'll normal summon Gishki Beast!" The aquatic animal appeared on the field, wearing an aquamirror around it's neck. (1500/1300)

"Beast allows me to summon a Gishki from the graveyard in defense position," She said as the familiar Gishki chain arose from a portal in the ground, putting up a defensive stance and glowing blue. (1800/1000)

"Finally, I'll Xyz summon!" A minature galaxy hologram appeared in front of Sasha, "I'll overlay the level 4 Chain and Beast," She chanted as Chain and Beast turned into blue energy and flew into the center of the galaxy, "Come out from your deep lair. Xyz Summon Show us your power, Abyss Dweller!" The portal exploded, revealing a solid black dragon covered with blue spikes, with a pair of glowing yellow eyes. Two blue orbs of light rotated around it. (1700/1400)

"Since Abyss Dweller has water xyz materials, all of my water monsters have 500 more attack points!" At this, Zielgigas and Abyss Dweller gained a blue aura, both becoming slightly bigger. (3200-3700) (1700-2200)

"Now, attack Zielgigas! Destroy the Dragoon!" Zielgigas rushed towards the mounted fishman.

Scott Vs Bill

The set card flipped over, and Saizo's sword bounced off of what could only be described as some kind of giant metal cocoon. Digital Bug Cocoondenser. (0/2000) The ninja stumbled back before quickly jumping back to Scott's side of the field.

Bill started laughing nervously, "No flip effect, but it sure does have a lot of defense points..."

Anna Vs Jerome

Jerome seemed surprised by his opponent's apathetic attitude, especially in a tournament like this.

"Ok, I'll draw."

"Next, I'll activate the effect of Heraldic Beast Amphisbaena in my hand, discarding Heraldic Beast Twin-Headed Eagle," He sent one of the cards in his hand to the graveyard, "To special summon it in defense mode!"

An odd dragon appeared before him. It had 2 heads, one on the top of it's body with blue eyes, the other on the other end with red eyes. It flapped its wings and stretched its arms, seemingly happy to be out of his hand. The dragon took up a defense position and began glowing blue. (1700/1100)

"Next, I'll normal summon Heraldic Beast Leo!" A great armored lion materialized in front of him, roaring. (2000/1000)

"Now, Leo, attack her set card!" At Jerome's command, the lion began to pounce towards the set monster.

Mellie Vs Amanda

Amanda Curlin looked to be the academic type. She had a pair of glasses, her hair was done in a bun, and she was wearing a basic grey t-shirt.

"Ah, you must be Carmellia," She said, activating her duel disk, "Well, let's not procrastinate."

"NOOOO, Poseidra!" Yuria yelled, but it was no use. Poseidra shot right back into her deck. Come on, buddy, you are not a Neos Fusion!

Just as she looked up Atlantean Dragoons as already been shredded apart by Zielgigas.. Yuria took 1900 damage. LP 8000 -> 6100.

Yuria Vs Sasha

"Now," Sasha signaled Abyss Dweller, "Abyss Dweller, destroy Abyssteus!"

The black and blue dragon let out a dark blue energy beam from it's mouth, destroying Abyssteus. (LP: 6100-5600)

"I end my turn."

"Oh, we are not done yet," Yuria said. "I activate my face-down card, Call of the Atlanteans. I summon back Deep Sea Diva (DEF, Center-Left), Neptabyss the Atlantean Prince (DEF, Center), and Atlantean Heavy Infantry (DEF, Center-Right) from my GY!

"''Now your turn has ended."

She might have destroyed my front row, but our card advantage is still equal, and my LP is still above half.

Sasha Vs Yuria

"At the start of your turn, I'll activate the effect of Abyss Dweller!" Sasha declared as the dragon consumed one of its Xyz materials. The dragon's blue spikes glowed brightly as it let out a breath of blue fire towards Yuria's duel disk. After it impacted it, the graveyard slot began to glow with a dark blue aura.

"Now, you can't activate any card effects from the graveyard!" She said, oblivious to what Yuria actually had available...

Draw Phase

"I draw!" Yuria looked at her newly-drawn card, Salvage. I think I can see the way to victory from here.

Main Phase 1

"I activate Neptabyss' effect. I send Atlantean Heavy Infantry from my Deck to my GY and add Poseidra from my Deck to my hand."

"Now, return to the battlefield, Poseidra (ATK, Center)!" The three monsters on Yuria's field sank back to the abyss, and Poseidra emerged, roaring triumphantly.

"You still can't beat me this turn!" Sasha declared.

Jo Vs Deckard

The giant dog was destroyed by the great strike. (LP: 8000-6550)

"Nice work," Deckard responded, "But since Missus Radiant was destroyed, I can add Gamma from my graveyard to my hand!"

"Fine by me, I'll move to Main Phase Two and place one card face down. I'll finish off my turn by combining Heel Ogre and Headbatt into Gouki The Great Ogre, my Link-3!" He grinned as the two wrestling warriors were swatted aside by the taller, meaner looking Ogre, his axe clenched tightly in his hands. "As long as The Great Ogre is on the field, all monsters have their attack points reduced by their defense points! And with that, I'll end my turn."

Monster: Gouki The Great Ogre (2600 ATK)

S/T: 1 Face Down

"By discarding Mermail Abyssgunde, I Special Summon another Mermail Abyssteus (DEF, Center-Left) from my hand. With Abyssteus' effect, I add Mermail Abyssdine from my Deck to my hand. I Special Summon Mermail Abyssdine from my hand (DEF, Far Right).

"I activate Salvage. I add Deep Sea Diva and Mermail Abyssgunde back to my hand. I Normal Summon Mermail Abyssgunde (Center-Right).

"Now to show off my own XYZ monster, I overlay Abyssgunde and Marksman to XYZ Summon Number 47: Nightmare Shark (EX Zone Right). I detach Abyssdine to activate Nightmare Shark's effect. Now my Nightmare Shark can attack your Life Point directly!"

Leo leapt, claws forward, and sliced through Anna's set card like a hot knife through butter. The image of a little teal bird with green armor flashed for a brief second before disappearing into pixels.

"Gusto Gulldo may be gone." Anna said with a stretch. "But it leaves behind a smaller Gusto before it goes. Gusto Egul."

Another, even smaller bird appeared from on high, this one much greener in hue and wearing that same matching armor.

Yuria Vs Sasha

Sasha's eyes widened in shock.

"Wait, No!" She pleaded, but it was too late. Nightmare Shark rose into the sky and swooped down, using it's two claws to slash at her. Sasha stumbled backwards. (LP: 700-0)

"...I lost?"

Jo Vs Deckard

"Hmmm, that needs to go." Deckard said, staring down the giant oni.

"I draw."

Deckard looked at his hand, taking one card and examining it. He then placed it onto his duel coat. "I'll normal summon Beta, The Electromagnet Warrior!"

The upgraded version of the original magnet warrior appeared, standing on the platform. (1500/1500) However, it soon started to shrink because of the Great Ogre. (1500-0)

"I'll use Beta's effect, adding Alpha, The Electromagnet Warrior from my deck to my hand!" Deckard declared, his deck producing the card he mentioned. He took it and continued, "Now, I'll use Magnetic Field to special summon Delta from my graveyard!"

Once again, a portal appeared on the magnetic stage, this time Delta appearing from it. (1600/1400) Once again, the magnet warrior shrunk due to the power of Great Ogre. (1600-200)

"Now, Beta, attack Gouki The Great Ogre!"

The small robot bravely charged forward. The Great Ogre easily swatted it down with it's mighty axe. (LP: 6550-3950) However...

"Now the effect of Magnetic Field activates!" Deckard declared, "I can return Great Ogre to your hand!"

Scotty bit his lip a bit - if he'd gone for Kagen...

No matter, this was still eminently his duel, considering the board state.

"I set one card facedown and then end my turn with that."

After the adrenaline died down, it took Yuria a few second to understand what happened. "Eh, what just happen? Did I win?" And then Yuria forgot all the nervousness she felt before and jumped happily. "YES! I WON! I WON!"

Then she composed herself and saw her opponent looking stunned. She hurriedly approached Sasha and smiled awkwardly.

"Um, sorry about that. That was thoughtless of me. I hope you enjoyed this duel." Yuria extended her hand once again.

Scott Vs Bill

"I draw!" Bill declared, still nervous but now more confidant in his chances.

"I'll normal summon Digital Bug Websolder!"

The mechanical spider materialized beside Cocoondenser, clacking its mandibles together. (500/1500)

Byron Vs Dan

"I am sick of these Link monsters," Dan said angrily as he drew his next card, "They ruined this damn game."

Dan looked at his next card happily, "I'll normal summon Dark Bug!"

Next to him, what could only be described as a tetris block on giant spider legs appeared. (100/100)

Yuria

Sasha smiled and took Yuria's hand. "I don't think I'm for these tournaments. My locals are nothing compared to this." They shook hands and Sasha started to leave.

"Thanks for the duel, I'll be rooting for you," She said as she was shuffling her cards back into her deck, "And get to the finals so I don't come across as too bad. I'd rather be the first victim of the champion then another loser in the first round" She said in a whisper.
