I can't tell whether watching Andrew's show on an empty stomach is a wonderful or awful idea, but I'm gonna keep doing it either way. Only got into this series recently so I haven't seen many episodes, but what with my love for cooking shows this is a million times more entertaining than a majority of television equivalents~
I've overlooked Basics until now but I'll try to binge it later; not sure if I'd be able to put any of it into practice with my dinky little kitchen but damned if I'm not going to try one day.
🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaA lot of the stuff he shows on basics doesn't require super complex stuff. So there's definitely stuff you can put in practice.
My personal favorite was the Ultimeatum episode. In general I like the episodes based on fictional foods in cartoons. It's always amusing to see what happens when Reality Ensues.
Disgusted, but not surprisedI love the Every Meat Burrito episode where he bought lots of different meats from the common (chicken, pork, beef) to the exotic (snake, buffalo) to make the burrito.
So far made 4 of his recipes.
The aforementioned Goodfellas prison sauce (Really good, though I go all hot italian saussage, and I decase the sausage before browning as I am not fond of whole sausages stewing for hours, they taste like jelly)
The Clementine Cake from Life of Walter Mity. It's... really good cake.
Puerco Pibil, which was awesome.
And Kevin's famous chili (A really solid chili)
With a friend we're planning to try making a Timpano at some point when we can both find the time.

Ooh, my dad's favorite dessert.
Disgusted, but not surprisedRea reviews the Internet's most popular food videos.
In celebration for the upcoming Avengers Infinity War movie, Rea makes some Shawarma.
God I want Shawarma now...
Bonus video (for non-Patreon members) in honor of national Grilled Cheese day.
More Avengers Food (And Last Video in the old Kitchennote )

So that means no more appearance of his roommate Rashid?
He has no said if he's moving with Rashid in the new place.

You can only write so much in your forum signature. It's not fair that I want to write a piece of writing yet it will cut me off in the midWell he does say Rashid is a close subway ride away, so we might still get cameo from him.
Time to get ludicrous again.
I do love that closing line. "Serving up this sandwich is one of the few ways you can be a really good and really bad friend at the same time."
I so want to be at his housewarming party for the new apartment.
It's not that difficult to make. Especially since the pizza sauce and chili can be made in advance
Some of those ingredients are harder to source for those not in North America. And I was just talking about the food quality in general.
Actual last episode in the old kitchen.
Next episode will be on the 22nd in the new Kitchen.

This week Babish goes back to school.
New Kitchen, and back to Spongebob Squarepants
And holy shit, that new kitchen o_O
Also made Kevin's famous Chili from the Office yesterday. Pretty good. Though very mild... And I'm not someone who is known for his tolerance of spicy foods, so if I call a chili mild, take that for what its worth. I'd advise at least doubling the hot pepper content of his recipe, more so if you're a hot food enthousiast.

Here's the 1st episode featuring the new kitchen.
Can't believe we don't have a thread on this.
Binging with Babish features Andrew Rea as re-creates the recipes from movies and tv-shows (And Video Games that one time), either as presented, using his own knowledge, or based on the dvd features. Sometimes the results are awful, so he'll improve on them. He also has another show, Basics with Babish, to teach people how to cook. If you don't know how to cook, I highly recommend it.
Some examples:
This week's episode:
Some oldies:
I've bought his cookbook, and I've tried to replicate some recipes from the show (The Goodfellas Prison Sauce is amazing and is now my go to pasta sauce).
Any other fans? Tried any of his recipes yourselves?
