Funny but not helpful
Between the pilot and the first finished episode, Lilith, Amity, and Hexside got deemphasized in favor of the Warden and the Conformatorium. Two elements which are far less important to the show going forward.
But Luz’s alienation from her peers is traded for alienation from her mom. Which was much more important in the finished show than other kids.
Perhaps the Warden and the Confirmatorium were shoved in to try to better to connect to the mom alienation themes.
While Amity, Lilith, and Hexside fit more with the original alienation at school theme.
But there were plans for those three elements so they came back around and the Warden didn’t because he was a bandaid on a theme shift?
