Huh, well, so, uhm… I had missed Shaun’s brief video about Prager U and Fatherhood, t’was a good occasion to catch up.
Another case of Prager U being thwarted by their own sources. I like the distinction made between "father" and "dad" here.
Regarding the statistics about fatherless children quoted by Obama, I wonder if there are similar studies for kids raised by single fathers…
Oh yeah, it seems to happen a lot with, well, many PU videos.
With that said, though, I must confess that up until rather recently, I never really bothered to check the sources that video essays cite.
Along with ones from the likes of H.Bomberguy and Super Eyepatch Wolf, Shaun's videos actually taught me how to research subjects in video essays.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel. It's a classic conservative strategy (well, grifters/content mills in general) to cite sources that don't really agree with the statements being made, but because nobody actually reads sources—or knows how to interpret things like studies when they do—viewers just assume good faith whenever they see a citation.

Tangenitally related, but I am just listening to the latest Behind the Bastards episode on the birth of Think Tanks. Prager U comes from the same tradition of creating the appearance of an intellectual argument for things that are actually indefensible. The point isn't to actually have a rigorous argument, it's just to flood the zone with paper. Just so many things to cite that it gives the air of legitimacy.
indeed, there is a tendency in years to try to reframe a lot of stuff, is less academy and more politics in vein of inteletuallity. given Prager U is not really a university...
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"IIRC, Oklahoma and Florida included Prager U in their list of recommended curricular materials a year ago.

As people have been pointing out in earlier posts:
Discussion on any of these topics is not welcome on the forums at the moment.
If Shaun's talking about them, that's on-topic here and we can report and directly discuss that as part of Shaun's work. If he says something that's factually wrong or showcases an unfamiliarity with US politics, for example, that's worthy of comment.
But when that becomes a subjective discussion between tropers, not a direct response to Shaun (and, in some posts, no longer mentioning Shaun at all) then it's off-topic and likely to get thumped in line with the locked thread rules.
Also, if you're just posting a link or video without context, that's also likely to get thumped. This is a longstanding forum rule and applies to all topics.
