I've been hyped for this for a long while now, I actually went and decided to do a let's play of it. Fingers crossed if it will be any good.
For those of you who have played this game, how is it? I'm considering getting it at the moment.
I've really been enjoying it so far. While it's not the same kind of visual novel I put it up there with Danganronpa and Analogue: A Hate Story in terms of enjoyment and I put them up as the best visual novels I've played.
I admit I'm personally waiting for the tropes page to spring up, it looks like it'd be fun to read through.
I'm considering starting it once I finish the game. If you feel like watching somebody else play I also started a let's play series on it if you don't mind listening to me read everything that isn't voiced.
I was actually planning on making a page for it! I don't know if it's better for me to wait until I finish the game to create the page, or if it's fine for me to start it now and add to it as I go. I'm currently at the end of chapter two.
I was hoping there would have already been a tropes page for the game. I guess not! I would probably beat the entire game, then make the tropes page.
Yeah, Beating the game would probably be the best. There are alot of different routes.
(Though there some things that irk me about it without going into spoilers.)

The game is very beautiful and atmospheric, not gonna lie, and I absolutely enjoyed all of the main characters, I even got the True Ending route, but it left me seriously emotionally drained afterwards. I guess physcological horror and such just isn't my cup of tea.
You say I'm not cool. But cool is just another word for cold. If I'm not cold, I'm hot. I know I'm hot. Thank you for embracing it!I've started a page on it. However, I'm still fairly new to creating pages, so there's not much there at the moment (nor is it "pretty" either), but it's a start all the same. Feel free to add on to it!
A few suggestions for the page:
- I'm not sure if linking to VNDB is okay, especially since that site has NSFW images.
- I would take out the bit about there being "drama" from the Kickstarter. Stuff like audience reactions, critical reception, and anything not related to just informing readers what the game is about should not be in that section of the page.
Yeah, the drama doesn't really have a place on the page since it's not a trope, hasn't created a Broken Base or anything like that, and would require a lot of space dedicated to it to cover everything that needs covering.
EDIT: Also you put two trivia tropes as YMMV, which is obviously bad.

I removed the VNDB link out of this post, forgetting it had a bit of NSFW content. I don't browse that site a lot, so didn't know. Sorry! The drama didn't really cause a Broken Base or anything. It was just a bit of a hurdle for the dev team.
The official sources for the drama are on the kickstarter page:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/yangyangmobile/the-letter-2/posts/1474885
and
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/yangyangmobile/the-letter-2/posts/1467330
For anybody who wanted to know the source behind it. The fandom were very supportive of the dev team, and since the game's release there has not been any Hype Backlash either.
Just a heads-up: The Letter has a bunch of Zero Context Examples in its character page. Anyone who's played the game should go in and add more context.
I think that cruel and unusual death should be listed on the page, considering the state some of the characters wind up in in their death routes/bad endings.
Edit: either that or a nightmare fuel page at least, cuz holy hell they do a lot despite it just being a visual novel.

Hi there....Since I saw most of the gameplay....I think it would be nice if I could make a YMMV subpage for it. Here are the tropes that came to mind:
- Alternative Character Interpretation: This is for Luke Wright and Lady Charlotte/Takako's case IMO and I will elaborate on it later
- Awesome Music & Ear Worm: That main theme song by Ama Lee
- Base-Breaking Character: Luke and Rebecca
- Draco in Leather Pants: Luke Wright
- Jerkass Woobie: Luke Wright
- Moral Event Horizon: Luke killing his own wife;Johannes participating in Ashton torture;Lady Charlotte tortures Takako out of spite etc etc
- They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: Marianne Mc Collough
- The Woobie: Isabella and Zach
So any thoughts on it?

"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."Wait a minute. If this is a visual novel instead of a video game, shouldn't it be in the Visual Novels side of the forums?
It should, and has been moved to that forum.
The developers are currently running a kickstarter for their next Visual Novel Love Esquire. It's a harem comedy game compared to The Letter's horror but they put a few nods to TL in the demo, and a few of the voice actors have roles in the new game.
When seven people fall prey to a vicious curse, they will discover that horror rests not from the shadows lurking about, but within themselves. To what ends will one go in order to survive?
It had a successful Kickstarter, although it had a bit of...drama. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/yangyangmobile/the-letter-2
You can also get it over on Steam http://store.steampowered.com/app/460430/The_Letter__Horror_Visual_Novel/
