For those who don't know, an "animatic" is a video consisting of storyboards edited together with voices and music. If you ever seen an deleted scene from animated film, it is was most likely in the form of an animatic.

Anyway, there are Youtube videos of artists making animatics out of songs taken from cast recordings of musicals. Said musicals are usually ones with huge teenage fan bases including Heathers, Wicked, and especially Hamilton.

This video finally got me to listen to Hamilton. I love the last third's visuals.

If you have a favorite musical animatic, post it.

What kind of fan works are animatics? I mean, should they be counted as Web Animation? If not, then what? I've got a couple of examples to add to trope pages but I can't decide in which folder they should go.

Animatics make you wish all musicals were animated just by how beautiful they can be.

I’m sorry, but you have Stage 9 Animes.

I saw fanart, really cute fanart of The Magic Flute on Tumblr. Now I'm hoping we get enough of an audience to make a Magic Flute animatic and/or animated film in these styles.
