[up] But the whole purpose of this thread is to reinvent old characters and storylines, not rehash what was already done. It's not like we're somehow erasing the original storyline — we'll always be able to read and enjoy the original DOFP, as well as this new one.

Tigra

Origin: Greer Grant is a half-human hybrid. Her father is a human while her mother is of the Cat people, a race feline humanoids from another dimension. Greer was raised by both her parents in-between realms. She works as detective aiding both the human and non-human communities in cases that crossover.

Powers: Tigra's strength, speed, agility, durability, stamina and healing far greatly exceed that of a human and normal cat person. She can move in the blink of an eye and increase her speed and strength further thanks to training in the Cat people's martial arts styles and is capable of brief Flash Steps. She can take the form of a cat-like animal, in her case a tiger, similar to other Cat people. She can also access two other beast-like forms that increase her stats but run the risk of making her too feral to control.

Tigra's allies include Ches, a cat creature trained magic and her friend on the force, Billy Nelson.

I wonder if Tigra could be tied in to the High Evolutionary and his New Men. Like maybe instead of being a human turned into a cat-person, she could be a cat "evolved" into a humanoid form.

I've never liked the "evolved" animal idea, because it makes my inner scientist go "That's not how that works, damnit!"

Well, considering that Tigra's current origin is "transformed into a cat woman through literal magic", an Uplifted Animal origin would at least try to be scientific. And besides, the whole "evolved animals look like humans" idea could be ditched in favor of deliberately modifying animals to be humanoid.

In the comics, the Cat People were ordinary cats transformed by a sorcerer into humanoids.

For Hawk fans, what would you say to Kendra Saunders being Shayera Hol's daughter?

I have a Marvel thought which is basically my idea of how the character could be organically adapted in the MCU.

In the comics, Samuel Saxon/Machinesmith developed his skill at making androids from reverse engineering Doombots, and sort of accidentally got transformed into an android himself after his bots gave him an Emergency Transformation when he broke his neck.

Since Machinesmith has a lot of the same powerset as Ultron and same kind of make-up as Ultron/Vision, I'd have it that he was an agent of Hydra or AIM and ended up as an android based on an attempt to reverse engineer Ultron/Vision.

I'd also probably steal Metallo's backstory in the Superman animated series and have Saxon be tricked into undergoing the process. Because as discussed on the Emergency Transformation page, Machinesmith's first appearance in Captain America comics involved him trying to commit Suicide by Cop based on the same kind of Sense Loss Sadness.

#434: Nov 4th 2020 at 9:36:02 AM

[up] Reminds me of an idea I had concerning Machinesmith. I was thinking that maybe Machinesmith could be part of a small criminal organization composed of him, Mendel Stromm, and Spencer Smythe, since they're all criminal roboticists who got their start fighting street-level superheroes (Spider-Man for Stromm and Smythe, Daredevil for Machinesmith).

That’s a cool idea.

Also, I remembered that in the MCU Zola already uploaded his mind to a computer using 1970’s technology. So, it’s pretty easy to also tie Machinesmith to that.

Now I have an idea on how a character could be organically adapted in the MCU.

In the comics, Kraven the Hunter's origin had him gain superhuman attributes by drinking a herbal potion made by an African witch doctor (later revealed to be Calypso). Well, what if the MCU made it so that Kraven got his powers through the Heart-Shaped Herb of Wakanda? He'd be introduced in a similar way to how Klaw/Klawe was, as a criminal who stole Wakandan goods, except instead of stealing Wakanda's vibranium, he stole a Heart-Shaped Herb and ingested it.

I have an idea about new backstories for and connections between the living island Krakoa, the living planet Ego, and the symbiotes. In this idea, Ego is the result of the Celestials seeding a planet with an Origin Bomb, just as they do with all planets they wish to experiment on. (The Celestials would be combined with the Builders and the Progenitors in this continuity.) Except on this planet a mutation occurs, causing the entire biosphere to become sentient — a planetary Uni-Mind. This "living planet", which calls itself Ego, becomes aware of other life in the cosmos and determines to spread across the universe and consume it all. For this purpose, Ego forms the symbiotes from his biomass and commands them to assimilate all life they encounter.

When one of Ego's symbiote dragons finds its way to Earth, it crashes on a small island, where it assimilates the local flora and fauna, creating in essence a mini-Ego which calls itself Krakoa. The X-Men investigate and eventually manage to escape Krakoa, but a single symbiote manages to latch onto their plane and is brought to New York, where it finds and bonds to first Spider-Man, then Eddie Brock. Eventually the symbiote (which now calls itself Venom and has developed morality) returns to Krakoa and, with the X-Men's help, convinces it to protect humanity. Eventually, when Ego and its army of symbiotes come to Earth, Krakoa and Venom ally with the rest of Earth's heroes to repel the Mad Planet.

Well, what do you think?

Ed Dorado from Chile, Asami Koizumi from Japan and Tye Longshadow from the USA are three youths who were abducted by the Dominators who sought to create human super soldiers in their war with the H'San Natall race. Ed gained the power of teleportation, Asami can absorb cosmic radiation and project it in the form of concentric ring blasts and Tye can manifest a shadow-like entity of varying size which he can also fuse with.

Isiaah Gibe from Tanzania and Antonia Monetti from Italy are children whose mothers were injected with H'San Natall DNA to breed sleeper agents. All five teens discover their respective origins and fight to protect their world from the two races. Joining them are the "Wonder Twins" from the planet Exxor who seek to avenge the wrongs inflicted on their home planet by the Dominators and H'San.

Remember back in the 90s when Guy Gardner was revealed to be the descendant of the Vuldarians, a near-extinct race of alien warriors who fought to protect the universe from evil even before the Green Lantern Corps existed?

I'd revive the Vuldarian concept, allowing at least more of them to have survived and working on increasing their numbers through cloning and genetic manipulation. I'd also bring back the character Veronna who was part of the tribe that guarded the Water of Warriors, but give her the Vuldarian powers. I also think this could make her an interesting contrast for Jaime Reyes - both are humans who have powers of alien origin, but Jaime's are technological while Veronna's are biological.

Something I think would be neat would be to make Wonder Woman a legacy character. I don't mean replacing Diana in the role. I mean establishing that sending someone out to protect/keep an eye on Man's World is something the Amazons do periodically, one or twice a century, and Diana is the latest to take that role.

I see a bunch of benefits to this. For one, it lets you have modern day Wonder Woman and World War II era Wonder Woman without relying on time travel or making Diana ridiculously long lived - the Wonder Woman who fought the Nazis and joined the JSA was simply Diana's predecessor.

It's also helps make the Amazons a little less aloof - they may be hiding out on their enchanted island, but they've still been taking an active role in trying to help the rest of the world.

And I think it'd just create more story opportunities. If there have been many previous Wonder Women active in Man's World, there are lots of ways that can be mined to produce new allies and enemies, or to have a piece of Amazon magic/technology show up in odd corners of the world. Heck, just having Diana learn about the different approaches previous Wonder Women have taken towards their mission could be interesting.

(Also, this is in no way important, but it'd be amusing if the reason Wonder Woman's costume resembles the American flag is because one of the earlier Wonder Women once met Betsy Ross, who took inspiration from the outfit.)

Rather than become Batman, or he planned and either failed training or was horribly crippled for life, Bruce Wayne becomes the financer for non powered superhero world. Bassicaly Batman incoorated on much bigger scale: Somebody wants training to be superhero, Bruce points them to one of his countless mentors with whom he kept in contact, Tech hero needs maintainance or finances, Bruce gives them. He could ever work with Wonder Woman to aid her in her role as ambasador in Man’s world or to help Superman spread Kriptonia technology for benevolent purposes.

He could even join with Green arrow and other rich superheroes to form what is bassicaly Good Counterpart to the Ninth Circle.

This is gonna sound a bit weird. I want to make a version of Tye Longshadow with a similar power set to his Young Justice counterpart but also make him a Space Master. Anyone with a really good understanding of physics and other scientific concepts know if this can be possible?

I like Robbery's space cloud nebula phenomenon thing that dilutes starlight around krypton and inhibits their ability to discover other planets. A lot of the known DCU has to be thrown out to make it work, but "yellow sunlight" is one of the things I dislike most about Superman.

I really like the Atlas Shrugged crossover Vampirebuddah proposed on page 13, except I don't really care for only one ghost rider at a time. I love Wonder Woman being a monarchist against democracy and Veronica Cale being in favor of the patriarchy because she's doing well enough. That alone deserves to be an official spoof.

My own proposals? Matrix. Rebirth as it is already is an opportunity to salvage that character. Matrix Terren, AKA "Mae Kent", was originally one of multiple colonies of sapient microbial flora which came to be known by the common descriptor "Stromatrices". Stromatrices don't live among planets or even among the established Earth # multiverse system. Over time their researchers did take notice of "Earth" however, shocked at what was unmistakably life inhabiting it. Initially the only life recognized was the phenomenon known as Doctor Manhattan, but upon further observation came to realize he was just one of a vast ecosystem of creatures. Manhattan then departed from the planet, defying theories that Earth creatures could not survive outside its magnetosphere. Entire fields of study became dedicated to studying this planet in general and Manhattan in particular.

Then it happened. He observed their observations and became violent. This was a possibility many Stromatrices believed themselves prepared for, but were not. Calculations did not add up. Manhattan displayed far greater amounts of energy, degrees of durability, speed, awareness and ferocity never previously recorded, believed possible by Manhattan, were put on display against them. No one had an explanation, much less a solution for this newfound might he wielded. Fight turned to flight. Manhattan still did not truly comprehend the overvoid, admittedly neither did the Stromatrices, but most managed a desperate escape from him across it. Most who did not were utterly eradicated. Manhattan did spare a handful who soon came to realize they were now being, tortured, no, studied!

Manhattan was fascinated by these creatures' relationship with space-time, by their resilience, the ability to survive what would kill the most stubborn water bear. The amount of time their very cytoplasm could maintain biological functions divorced from its membrane even when subjected to "extreme" conditions. Manhattan marveled at their attempts to reassemble. Events became a daze, a haze. Another Earth? More who would study them? "Oz" used them to determine future events, "Superman" they realized was attempting to restore them to what they once were but simply did not have enough information to work with, and then there was "Alexis"...seemingly random electrical signals pulsed through millions of enveloping cells. Connections, thoughts, feeling, senses never before experienced, smells never before detected, colors never before seen. Atmospheric vibrations suddenly becoming indicators, beacons of information! Time was pulling relentlessly, positions in space had to be regulate against it, a new body arose, steadied itself and perceived Alexis Luthor more clearly than before. Phase one of project "Matrix" was a success!

The Earthling body was not a desirable outcome, but the (seeming)altruism is recognized and appreciated. Each subsequent phase a greater success than the last. Memories form, emotional connections to them next, a greater understanding of planetary flora, fauna, of humanity in general follow. Matrix is progressing more quickly than expected. Matrix has settled on "she", as Luthor intended, but is identifying as "Matrix Terren" rather than "Matrix Luthor". Oh well, plenty of time to fix that...or not. Alexis Luthor not only underestimated Matrix, but Zod, whose cohorts have found him out before his first New Generation Krypton Exterminator(TM) is even ready for field testing. Matrix tries to fight them, but proves to be no match, and getting bad memories Dr. Manhattan, opts to flee with Lex Luthor in tow. They escape, but only because the bad guys from Krypton opt to torch the remainder of Luthor's alien cytoplasm, so he can't "make" another Matrix. Zod joins his minions, catches up to Matrix, but Superman has returned. They fight, Zod does a tactical retreat, or gets sent back to The Phantom Zone. Doesn't matter.

Superman's super senses let him correctly conclude exactly what Luthor has done with the alien cell culture, and makes it clear this was not what Superman had in mind, but Superman believes Luthor's claims that he was desperate to stop Zod and was not using the biological material of Matrix to raise a loyal army of super soldiers that would kill Superman. Matrix discovers after more misadventures with Alexis Luthor and Superman that Alexis is full of dung and IS trying to do exactly that with imperfect clones of herself. After Matrix destroys what's left of Luthor's work, Superman offers to restore Matrix Terren to her original state, now that he has her knowledge to work with, but it turns out this particular Stromatrices colony does not specialize in biology, moreover it is sick of "humans" and sets out in space to find competent medical professionals among her own kind.

Thus Matrix puts a "human" face on a decidedly more alien tour of the DCU, like Metroid with superpowers and a search for lost friends in place of a power suit and bounty hunting, not that Matrix doesn't do some odd jobs along the way. Matrix encounters negative space wedgies, Starfish Aliens, Big dumb objects, space whales and eldritch locations, eventually returning to Earth to apologize to Superman, realizing her journey is going to be a lot harder than she initially thought. She desires a place to stay with someone she can trust while she recharges for another trip. Matrix is established as a Superman sidekick. One he can't count on to be on Earth or even in the current universe at any given time, but helpful when she, or he when Matrix would rather be a he, is around. Superman eventually hooks her up with Kismet, who eventually helps Matrix find the remaining Stromatrices, but she still comes by Earth to visit. Matrix is neither Supergirl nor any kind of angel, although she can impersonate them.

So I have a DC fic that I'm working on. The premise is basically "DC but the superheroes are Lovecraftian horrors (while still mostly being the good guys)". These are the ideas I've workshopped so far for how the heroes and their cast are portrayed and I'd be interested in seeing people's notes and feelings on them:

  • Superman is a totally inhuman looking alien monster; either a buglike creature vaguely similar to the classic Superman design (think Rant from Dark Multiverse) or something that looks like an Elder Thing, haven't decided yet. He's still a hero who does nothing but fight evil and protect innocents, intervening in everything from crime to natural disaster, but never really interacts with people beyond that and doesn't seem to behave in any recognizably human way. Nobody knows where he came from or why he does the things he does. The public initially fears him but comes to love him, while the government hates him for both not showing any special treatment to them and for making them look incompetent. Also his cooling breath is reimagined as him spewing liquid nitrogen from his mouth and his x-ray vision can give you radiation poisoning if he does it long and consistently enough. He is not Clark Kent in this universe; Clark really is just some dude here.
  • Lois Lane is basically a twisted deconstruction of the Silver Age "throw herself off buildings to get an interview" portrayal of Lois. She's deeply mentally unwell and initially good at hiding it, but her mental state and personal life begins imploding as she becomes obsessed with Superman. Eventually her degradation reaches a point where she's purposefully endangering herself to try and get Superman to appear to her, which works one time... and as he's rescuing her, she notices that he has the exact same color of eyes that her husband Clark Kent has. She develops a paranoid delusion that Clark is actually Superman wearing a human skin and that her children are actually Kryptonian hybrids. She becomes abusive to her family and starts playing mind-games with them to try and "prove" they're not human. When Clark has enough and threatens to take the kids and leave, she pulls out a gun loaded with blanks and pretends to shoot him like in the Donner movies to try and expose him. Except here, it just causes Clark to have a heart attack out of panic. Oops.
  • Batman is a terrifying fear-eating shadow demon named Barbatos from the dimension of Zur-En-Arrh that tortures criminals physically and emotionally and is worshiped and served by a cult known as the Robins... or maybe he's just some militia cult leader who pretends to be a demon and manipulates people into being his Robins to help him play vigilante. Either way, everyone is terrified of him and the Robin cult has infiltrated every level of Gotham's infrastructure. He might be Bruce Wayne, but it's a big might.
  • Commissioner Gordon is also a twisted deconstruction of his comic self's relationship with Batman. Initially seeming like just Gotham's mundane police commissioner, Internal Affairs eventually discovers that Gordon, his family, and his friends in the MCU like Bullock are actually members of the Robin cult and have been aiding Batman's activities by feeding him information and following his orders. When a team is sent to Gordon's home to make arrests, they get fired upon by Gordon and the MCU and the whole thing turns into a Heaven's Gate/Jonestown-style massacre that leaves Gordon's entire family and friend group either dead or arrested with the exception of Barbara, who later writes a lurid tell-all book about her experiences in the cult.
  • Wonder Woman is a living Greek statue golem (inspired by a DC redesign thing by the artist of Dresdan Codak) who was brought to life by an occult ritual carried out by a woman-only commune on their private "Paradise Island". Her nature as a statue means that she's mute and her demeanor tends to freak people out, but she uses her powers to help people. The fact that she's the superhuman people find most approachable and understandable should give you an idea of how alien a lot of the supers are here.
  • Aquaman is basically a Deep One, portrayed as the half-human son of a lighthouse keeper and an Atlantean as part of an ancient ritual deal that protects a seaside town. Atlanteans are portrayed as a race of massive and terrifying oceanic Eldritch Abomination akin to Aboleths from DND. Black Manta is a Captain Ahab figure who inherited his father's obsession with hunting Aquaman and finding Atlantis, with the dynamic played as a big Cycle of Revenge that culminates in Manta killing Aquaman's spawn and committing suicide as the Atlanteans come hunting after him for revenge.
  • Martian Manhunter is the centerpiece of a David Icke-style conspiracy and urban legend about shapeshifting martian monsters called "the Hyperclan" infiltrating human society for their own sinister ends. May or may not actually exist.
  • The Flash starts out as Jay Garrick turned into some kind of ethereal Speedforce ghost thing created by a particle accelerator explosion, haunting Central City as he seems to flicker in and out of existence, nobody quite sure what he's doing other than speeding around and causing weird physics wherever he appears. Then things get much, much, much worse; an attempt to cure his condition goes horribly wrong and leads to Barry Allen somehow getting "assimilated" into Jay, resulting in a Flash that's even more eldritch. Things escalate from there and eventually Central City has to be evacuated and permanently abandoned as the Flash grows into a gigantic Speedforce Hive Mind storm being floating over the city and causing horrifying, physics-shattering things to happens, possibly without even knowing what it's doing (inspired by the Speedforce storm from Last Knight On Earth).
  • Hawkman/girl is a towering bird spirit monster that attacks anyone causing excessive damage to the ecosystem. Inspired by both Hawkman's portrayal in Kingdom Come and the infamous Continuity Snarl around the Hawks, the Hawkperson is depicted as a creature bearing numerous contradictory traits; nobody knows if they're male or female or hermaphroditic or what, amongst other things.
  • Adam Strange is a figure in ufologist circles akin to Travis Walton or the Hills, a man who claims he was abducted by aliens and tells fanciful stories of Rann. He gets a boost in attention around the time Superman shows up because he claims to know what Superman is and that he saw other members of his species on Rann, but a lot of people dismiss his ramblings as nonsense.
  • Green Lantern's origin starts out basically the same, with Hal Jordan finding the crashed ship and getting Abin Sur's power ring, but quickly takes a hard turn into horror as Hal and the ring start bonding, with the ring influencing Hal's mind and Hal drifting further and further away from human thought processes as the ring eventually starts physically altering him as well. By the end, Hal is just a desiccated body with Tetsuo-style mechanical alterations hanging limping from the ring as it flies about carrying out it's duties. He is still alive.

Without warning, linear time and round space exploded, sending a miasma of heat and light into the frozen blackness. Rao the father welcomed the change, bringing order alongside the chaos, and fashioned wonderful gifts for all of his children. The greatest of these were gas and dust to his favorite son Vohc, from which Vohc formed a beautiful nebula that attracted millions of tourists every time the cycle of the arts came around. Vohc was rich, and all was good. But from the chaos came disturbance into Rao's order, a dark energy whose exact nature even now has not been determined, but whose flow can certainly be observed. It pushed particles aside in its hurried path, creating a stellar wind. Slowly gas gathered together, the edges sparked by the relentless wind. Electrons broke free, but were then pulled back by the gas's own growing gravitational pull. The excited sparks turned gas to plasma, more was pulled in and the plasma heated. Heat melted dust particles till then less disturbed by the wind. They collapsed on each other, dust and plasma ever gaining mass until curvature formed. Rolling, spinning in the once peaceful void was The Read Death, as Vohc saw it. Rao, the red sun most came to call it, named after Vohc's generous but soft headed father. Viewed from the horizons of Krypton, the planet that should have never been. But Vohc saw The Red Death, despoiler of his art, for what it really was!

From that first spark, from those darkness induced winds, awoke angels, an investment Vohc came to regret. They were to form in response to disturbances in Vohc's light year spanning mural, to preserve his lucrative nebula. But the angels saw the red star, they saw ball of lava accompanying it, and in their still infantile minds things were good. The Red Death pulled, it absorbed, it grew! More dust and gas of the once beautiful nebula fell to its insatiable hunger. The molten ball that was Kryton orbited, holding firm against it, also growing from The Red Death's scraps. Smaller balls of magma failed to resists the star's pull but were saved in a way by Krypton's own gluttony, too weak to pull all the way in against The Red Death but too stubborn to let go. Here, on these so called moons, did the angels decide to reside. The Red Death burned ever hotter, but Krypton cooled. Hydrogen the star had not caught mixed with oxygen, the same material responsible for sparking against the wind that had since been largely caught up in Krypton's pull by circumstance. Rain fell, oceans rose, ravenous chemical reactions altered the atmosphere further and then, for the first time, The Red Death gave rather than took. From the rocks of Krypton and the red radiance came photosynthesis, life, the beginnings of an ecosystem which so enchanted the young angels. Many a passing rock, hunk of metal or wad of ice may have wiped out this life, indeed shattered the ever cooling Krypton, but the angels intervened for the planet that should not have been. Vohc arrived in time to see this primitive life, with him tourists disappointed to see his once beautiful nebula disfigured into this ugly system of spheres. To salvage, to beautify what became of their tourist attraction, became the chief goal of Father Rao. He proclaimed his friends and family would preserve Vohc's lively hood, but the angels rebuked them, intervening on the behalf of the ever developing biosphere they had come to love.

The gods had been neglectful, Vohc had been neglectful, he realized. He had rested on his laurels and failed to steer the angels' development as he should have, but perhaps there was something to this Ecosphere before them, this web of life growing ever more intricate in the ever changing conditions on this young planet. At any rate the angels were starting to physically mature and increase in number. A potential conflict would not be worth losing what could be a different kind of tourist attraction.

Or could it? Dissension among the gods! Schism! Conflict after conflict! Aethry against Trolius, Kara against Lorra, Rao against Cynthonna! Vohc himself against Nightwing. The disgusted Flamebird descending to incinerate all! Telle calling for restraint! Whatever the issue, the angels always interceded on the behalf of life on Krypton, and whichever god found the angels' favor always won. Telle, Nightwing, Flamebird, Trolius, Aethry and Father Rao all enjoyed angelic favor at some point, but never Vohc! He had brought them here, assigned them purpose, but never did the angels do as Vohc pleased! Vohc deduced therefore, that the angels had overstayed their welcome. Many in the wider galaxy and beyond had come to see value in this so called "Rao System", but there were still some very upset tourists, and other lucrative markets through which Vohc could get some of his money back...

The Teen Titans and Hellenders are doing their part to help rebuild Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, following a breach of Tartarus from kakodaimon lord Dalkriig-Hath. Artemis isn't pulling her weight, however, seriously irritating Donna Troy, who blames her for the entire incident. Raven tries to ignore the amazons for now and finish restoring what can still be a functional multiplex herself, when she comes across a strangely pristine iron maiden among the charred wreckage. She tries to move it, telekinetically, but the object reacts negatively to Raven's demonic power and flies open with a scream. Donna and Artemis's argument is halted by the cry and the sight of their renovation project bursting into flame anew! They rush to a door but are forced back by a burst of fire through it. Donna calls for Raven, concerned for her well being. Artemis scolds Raven, for leading them to believe there were no more kakodaimons in the area. Raven is mostly okay, managing to shield herself, but cannot understand how this kakodaimon avoided her detection. Raven is always aware of everything, whether she wants to be or not. The flames slightly die down around the door and Artemis summons The Bow of Ra, but Donna protests its usage in such tight quarters. Donna and Artemis are then forced apart by a fourth woman just as another stream of fire comes towards them. The new arrival nonchalantly strolls through the fire to its source, forcing it out the other side of the multiplex and like a rocket a streak of fire lights up the urban skyline as two obscured figures take their struggle above the streets.

Raven, Artemis, and Donna follow the trail of the scuffle in the air before the fire dissipates to reveal Donna's older sister, Artemis's rival, Diana, and a naked, sullen, olive eyed dirty blonde, seemingly no more than fourteen. The youth stares at Diana's with an uneasy sense of assurance before suddenly glaring in Raven's direction and shrieking in a language none of them understand. Diana tries to clam the girl and ease her towards the ground. Diana explains to the other women that she thinks the naked girl's name is "Malleator Lahat". The dirty blonde glances at Diana with a mixture of surprise, annoyance and happiness. "Malleator" again addresses Raven in a foreign tongue, but one the women are more familiar with now, one they recognize from Dalkriig-Hath. Raven and Diana do their best to assure "Malleator Lahat" that Raven is not affiliated with or similar to the one they now realize held her in bondage, as Donna scrambles to get "Malleator" clothing.

Diana, The Titans and Hellenders have been passing miss "Lahat" onto each other at every opportunity, at a loss of what to do with her long term. She has taken a liking to everything she's seen so far, which she describes as "almost like home", and proven to be a quick study in human language, and punk rocker fashion. They're pretty sure of what "Lahat" is not; not a human, demon, daimon or anything else they are familiar with. "Malleator" finds human beings cute and squishy, just like those she had sworn to protect, and seems to regard Diana as a kindred spirit, so Diana is stuck with her most often. One day "Lahat" figures out enough English to ask if Diana works for Rao or Flamebird. Those words cause Diana to recall "the next gods/dark gods" madness, when under the influence of Dark Matter interlopers Supergirl tried to kill Wonder Woman, screaming "Rao is dead!". Diana discerns "Malleator" serves Kara's god. Kara is the dsputed goddess of beauty, Malleator corrects, and realizes Diana isn't an angel like herself, even though her boyfriend Steve calls her such. Diana calls the Kara she knows for a visit, believing Kara can get them answers, when the coffee shop they are in is attacked by the odd trio of Doctor Cyber, Ignition and android Trinity, who vow to let Wonder Woman be if she lets them take Sipishel Malleator Lahat of the Burning Choir with them. Diana lassos Cyber, who tells them Angels of Andromeda like Lahat are very valuable. While Lahat is relieved to see people who apparently know so much about her, she's not enthusiastic about returning to bondage. A fight breaks out.

Diana does her best to protect Sipishel, but it's three on two and the juvenile angel is a little out of her league. Ignition and Trinity help free Cyber from Diana and Sipishel is stunned and pinned down by the two as Cyber keeps Diana away by directing barrages at onlookers and infrastructure. Supergirl arrives to knock Ignition and Trinity off of Sipishel and proves to be much more helpful to Diana, the two fighting off the three assailants as Sipishel recovers. Sipishel appreciates Supergirl's help, but is a little agitated. Supergirl is clearly one of those meta humans that just so happens to share a name with a Kryptonian goddess, be bearing a Kryptonian symbol and mutated to have a suspiciously Kryptonian like physiology, right? No, she's from Krypton? But she's clearly the demi goddess daughter of, no, made a pact with, no, has bonded with a, no, was engineered from birth to be, no...it's up there in the sky. The sun of this planet makes the last daughter of Krypton strong, which for some reason causes Sipishel to hit the ground before flying off in a rage. Diana can't follow when the juvenile angel hits escape velocity, Diana can't breathe in breathe in space, so it's up to Kara to figure out what's wrong.

Sipishel's going to be a laughing stock! In the last two hundred thousand years never has an angel been saved by a squishy of Krypton! No one's going to believe her when Sipishel says she was on a backwards planet where a star made a squishy stronger than her instead of giving the squishy skin cancer! She'll never get that job with Rao or Flamebird now! As Kara tries to calm down Sipishel the two young women are attacked by Massacre, alien mass murderer. He wants to add extinction of the Kryptonian species to his resume and two so willingly flew into his territory! He's got kryptonite, Supergirl's in trouble! The endospores that became Sipishel's kind were introduced to the nebula that became Krypton however. Sipishel's unaffected by the green rocks, and angelic flame needs no oxygen, easily melting both the kryptonite and Massacre's weaponry, temporarily blinding him from the molten material as Sipishel escapes with a limp Kara.

Back on Earth, Kara wakes up on a hospital bed, recovering from her radiation poisoning. She's visited by her adoptive parents, the Danvers, who inform Kara they've decided to adopt another girl. Bleached blonde hair...a wig, blue eyes...color contacts, named "Linda", but it's clearly Sipishel. "Sip" has heard it all now. The gods are mostly dead, the planet's been blown apart, the angels of the Rao system are all dead or in bondage. "Linda" thought her troubles were special but now realizes Vohc has basically won. For the time being Sipishel thinks she can fulfill her angelic duties by helping Kara Zor-El on her new home...even if she does hate that Kara is the stronger one here.
