Wait for the next couple of pages. The sheer relief at seeing him safe will probably phase out into a "and don't you dare do that again", a second hug, and a nice little grounding. Possibly with an exception for Oscar, given she'll probably be thankful and see him as a good influence.

Now, I'm no herpetologist, but This looks distinctly non-aggressive. A snake almost always strikes with its fangs before throwing coils. This looks more like a snake hug.

Holy WOW this strip went from cute to terrifying fast

I just finished reading this comic. I found it by clicking on the page image of A Rare Sentence, and fell in love with the drawing style of the comic. The story is pretty good, too.

It's genuinely amazing, and always feels like it's building towards something greater and overarching, but I feel like we'll never actually get there.
