There was a Neptunia sale on Steam last week and I saw several dozen games with varying genres (shoot 'em up? JRPG? 2D sidescrollers? VR) and premises (there's a full-on Neptunia x Senran Kagura crossover title?). Which games are ideal entry points for a complete newcomer to the series?
Bloodborne, for the sole reason that it's stuck in PS4 jail. Sure, the prices of used PS4s has dropped since PS5 came out, but that still means shelling for the game and the console.

"Under Pressure" for me.
I'm really not looking foward to his DCU output; as I was going tired of some of his stuff and humor as far back as the second Guardians film, starting with Rocket's threat of stuffing Star-Lord's pillow with Drax's literal shit. The fact that the writers and director of Brightburn, a film he produced, spent an asinine amount of time on the commentary making jokes about how the Byers's barn set was, in reality, part of a sewage treatment plant doesn't help.

Thoughts on James Gunn's works?
They're pretty cool, but I'm not sure sure his DCU franchise will do well.
I guess Black-and-Gray Morality, where the main characters aren't perfect but you'd want to root for against utterly loathsome Big Bad villains.

For some reason, I like a lot of characters who are loud, hammy, and full of themselves, such as Joka, Dr. Eggman/Robotnik, Dr. Nefarious, Voltar, and Oogie Boogie. I'm not like that at all.
