The Dom reviews Artemis Fowl adaption.
The thumbnail says it best.
I assure you, I'm a completely trustworthy person.Only watched the first part so far, but yeah… as Roses says, it's pretty bad when I can't tell her snark from actual lines from the book.
Ah, and of course Dom's cat is named Terry.
How out of touch are those CEO? The entire draw of the books is that it's about a kids been a Jame Bond villain. Now you take that away then what left? Also why do you need to kill his mother? Wasn't his dad died already enough?
E.T technically is a Isekai movieNo you see, it was imperative that Holly and Artemis bond over their daddy issues and have the reveal that their dads were working with each other just like each other
god this movie was a mistake in every conceivable way
New episode posted last night, comparing The Picture of Dorian Gray to it's 1945 film adaptation:
…Well that made me want to read that thing.
By the way, what version is that gay moment from at the end?
2009's Dorian Gray with Ben Barnes in the title role.
Also, presumably, the next episode.
The other, much worse adaptation.
Seems like something broke for good within HP fans… =[
Anyway, what was that post-credit skit referencing exactly?
Enders' Game fans, Beers in hand "Sucks doesn't it? Now sit down, have a drink, and imma tell you about Orson Scott Card"
Today, Dom looks at a book about becoming a successful Youtuber:
And now the actual episode on Earthsea:
I wonder how mad he will be when he see how BBC butcher the adaptation of Discworld.
E.T technically is a Isekai movieI kinda tone deaf that they consider turning Sybil into a vigilante to make her badass ( cause a woman have to be violent to be badass), make her younger (play into the cliche of a younger heroine became a reward for a male character). Or maybe they try to cash-in the image of the Mother of Dragon from Go T cause Sibil also raise dragon?
E.T technically is a Isekai movieI mean, where do we begin. Between the Dwarves not being... Dwarves? Like, I'm glad to see someone nonbinary get to play Cheery. But at the same time it's not the character. And in another adaptation I'd be "Oh cool, refreshing take", but like, nothing's built me any kind of confidence.
There's no Cotton and Nobbs and that's like adapting Lord of the Rings and forgetting Gandalf.

Earthsea deserves so much better. A proper adaptation of the novels could be really great. It's a shame the only outside work the author had creative control with was the illustrations to her completed Earthsea omnibus. And in today's climate, a cast of almost exclusively people of color would be more deserved than ever.
Yeah… I haven’t read the novels, but from what I get whitewashing Earthsea makes about as much sense as having Black Panther take place in Finland.
TORILLA TAVATAAN!!!
...My apologies, I couldn't help it.
I assure you, I'm a completely trustworthy person.Miksi aina torilla?

The Mister livestream is up, with a special guest spot by the cutest Sir Terry Pratchett at the beginning! And Pushing Up Roses throughout, presumably (I just started it).
ETA: Roses is only in the first quarter as one of four guest readers; the others are That Movie Chick, Corey, and Suede. On the other hand Wisp hangs around for the entire reading and doesn't seem traumatized by it, unlike the humans.
