Announcement!
Given the outage occurring on Discord right now, it's time that, perhaps, we make a major move to other, more stable chats and chat sites so that communication will stick.
Or, at least, create several backup sites in case one goes down.
Players, a list of good chat sites will be greatly appreciated. My aim is to at least have three-four backup sites just in case one (or more) of them goes down at once.

Creator of the Avatar Arena and its Discord server.Just so you all know, I'll be heading for North Carolina tomorrow (or several hours from now, if you prefer) for spring break vacation, and I'll be there until I head back on Saturday of next week.
Obviously, this means I likely won't be able to be as active in the Arena as I usually am (granted, I've been somewhat inactive in the Arena lately, but y'know, RL matters and all that), so I probably won't be able to partake in any plot-related stuff that my characters are involved in all that much.
Aaaand I'm back from my vacation, in case y'all don't know by now.
Welcome back mate :)
"We can handle what is true, for we are already living it."Welcome back :D
Fallout 2? More like Fallout 2 bad.Announcement
After a few thoughts and musing on the matter, I've made a decision to leave the Arena community behind. I'll still be around in other chats and communities, and I'll start a new RP somewhere else at some point in the near future.
But, for one, I just wanted to thank everyone here for participating in this RP. Thank you for nearly three years of roleplaying. I'm glad to have met all of you.
As for notable details: I am giving away the position of GMs to MicoolTNT, ironcommando, engie, zbse, and DevilPsyco. You five may discuss who will create the reboot of the threads, and can consult me for information and questions. I'm giving you 3-4 weeks to make your plans regarding the future of the Arena, after which I'll have the TvT moderators lock the threads involving the Spinoff Arena for good.
Good luck, and farewell, everyone. :)

Creator of the Avatar Arena and its Discord server.No... Why would you do this to us, Syme? At least think about staying and continuing to play. And if not, then couldn't you at least keep this game up and running while someone else takes up the position of the thread's GM? Because locking it seems rather unnecessary.
For all intents and purposes, just pretend that none of my Arena characters ever existed. I'm not going to be participating any further.
Old habits die hard, especially when no one else lets them die either.I'm interested, but I don't think Saitama would be fair.
borkWell, you could join in with another character if you wish.
And, anyway, the setting has been changed to Azeroth and Outland, with the general area being that of Elwynn Forest. Please check the OP of the Discussion thread for details.

I kinda have a few problems with this new map (or maps, considering it's both Outland and Azeroth). For starters, it's too damn big. Like, the three maps that we're linked to in the this thread's OP barely even scratch the surface of how huge the new setting is.
Second, the three maps that are linked in the Discussion thread's OP are severely lacking in details, and in the case of Stormwind City, none of the important buildings or landmarks are marked. Naturally, this means I have a hard time creating a cohesive mental picture. Plus, like I said before, they don't even begin to cover how overwhelmingly and ridiculously massive this new setting truly is.
Third, even those sites that show you maps of Azeroth and Outland aren't very helpful, given that said maps suffer from the same problems I just mentioned in my previous point.
The main reason is that the power level has risen to so ridiculous levels (as well as that none of those powers are actually focused on a small, manageable area) that a giant arena is apparently needed. i vehemently disagree, though. Yes, you guys want story, yes you guys want no interference during talks... but you go too far beyond the goal. This is basically in need of being either completely rebooted or split into multiple regular RP-Threads. story based fights, fights with story, less small talk, more fight happy people, it is the arena for fucks sake, spinoff or not. It has nearly become an artifact title except for a fair few scenes like once a weak. Spontanity is not really present anymore, everything has to be planned these days and nothing can be interrupted.
I'm interested in this, but I checked the Signup thread and nobody posted since November. Is it the right, or do I just... waltz in? Asking because I'd use a OC
also I'm French so there's some time zones in play.
What's the use of money if you ain't gonna break the mold? Even at the center of fire, there is cold All that glitters ain't goldYeah, sure! There's really no sign-up necessary. The Arena uses a "drop-in, drop-out" format. Everything is in realtime, as it were. Fast paced with people dropping their characters out when a scene is finished or they're done for the moment.
Okay, thanks ^^

Given the second year anniversary of the Arena, we will be setting up a few events that will last until the 28th of May.
This includes, but is not limited to:
The Dance/Pool Event will occur on the city of Silvermoon.
The Epic/OP event will automatically occur on Outland, but players can choose to have it happen on Azeroth if they wish.
The Species Switch is an optional event that can occur anywhere as long as players want it to happen. When a change does happen, one only needs to describe it. An avatar change is entirely optional.
The sports event will occur on the Argent Grounds.
Alongside the species switch event, there will also be an optional power swap event, where characters can either get the powers of another character, or just get an entirely new set of powers in general. In the event of powerswaps between different players' characters, it is strongly recommended that players agree on what should happen first. And two or more characters getting the same power from another character is also allowed, of course, as long as it has been agreed on.
Creator of the Avatar Arena and its Discord server.Ummm....Hi there everyone. Is this were I ask questions about this Spinoff arena? I have been doing the arena for some time, and saw this place, which could be interesting.
I'm SERIOUSLY behind on all this lore stuff. How do I join properly?
Unlike most R Ps, you can simply jump into the Arena. There's a discord for discussing things. This arena has a consistency that the forum games one doesn't have.
I know. What information and lore do I need to know before jumping in?
All you truly need to know is that the current setting is Azeroth from World of Warcraft. Other little things are that the drop outs of v6 usually aren't present here, and occasionally there's a boss battle.
I see. I don't play WOW.^^;
There's a map of the arena for those unfamiliar with the setting.
Oh ok. Can I have a character who summons objects from other worlds, like a Portal Gun or Omnitrix?
So gonna use an incarnate for it.
