What about sparring matches?
'If you fall seven times, stand up eight.' The cry of the Undead. It's possible too. ;0
Fallout 2? More like Fallout 2 bad.How often do the GM(s) have an event held? Can it be over holidays? Because it'd be awesome if there was something like a Dark Souls themed event on Halloween.
'If you fall seven times, stand up eight.' The cry of the Undead. There are plenty of Anti Villains and Dark Is Not Evil characters that use outright evil text, so yeah, I'd say text is no indicator of morality. I use red text for Kyoko and a couple of my not-at-all villainous OCs, so yeah... text colour is mostly a colour-scheme thing.

"We can handle what is true, for we are already living it."Can events be holiday themed, or geared to specific events? And what we're previous Boss battles like? I'm hoping to be involved in at least one of the two.
'If you fall seven times, stand up eight.' The cry of the Undead.A "boss battle" is basically "everybody else's character(s) versus one guy's". Doesn't really need any particular preparation, just enough people around.
And sure, holiday events are fine, though anything that affects the whole Arena and everyone in it should be run past Syme, and there should be an opt-out (at least OOC). An event like Santa/the Easter Bunny/a bunch of Halloween creeps showing up should be fine, though.

"We can handle what is true, for we are already living it."Advanced warning:
I am very likely to be inactive from December to January, mainly since I will be preparing to migrate to Vancouver, Canada along with my parents. I will try my best to be online, however.
Creator of the Avatar Arena and its Discord server.Actually, nevermind. I feel like bringing up that topic would be a bad idea.

i'm mostly making this a less character centric incarnation of the Arena that you can sort of drop in and out of
If I make the new thread should I include a link here in the OP?
@Trip: Well, it could work. This Arena does allow Conflict Balls to be hurled around, meanwhile. It's just that players will need to be informed OOC first. If the players don't want it to be regarded as canon, they can point that out as well.

Creator of the Avatar Arena and its Discord server.I have an idea for an Arena event (regarded as non-canon)...
The OOC event.
Basically, characters act utterly out of character, though some might allow to have some characters retain their personalities just so that they can react to the complete chaos.
Creator of the Avatar Arena and its Discord server.Sci!Mai: "This world bores me. I will erase all." The funny thing is, she'll remain similar on the surface (and in mannerisms) with that motivation, even though it's basically the exact opposite... Analysing things with an eye to destruction, rather than comprehension and appreciation...
"We can handle what is true, for we are already living it."I like where this could be going, heheheheh...
The fact that only 140 characters are allowed here is honestly so disappointing to me.Sounds interesting.
Yeah, that event just sounds outright ridiculous.
And Mickey, do you honestly need to go overboard and italicize so many words for a single entry?

I guess I should enter with Mavra again with one of her Majesty+Awe boosted talks.
I'm fine with that idea, drama or fun can ensue :p
Chill out, man lol.

Fallout 2? More like Fallout 2 bad.Quick question. Do you need to sign up to join? I ask because in an old one it wasn't nessesary.
Make your hearth shine through the darkest night; let it transform hate into kindness, evil into justice, and loneliness into love.Nah. You can just hop on in. Have fun!
Something something Arena.Since I believe others should be warned about this...
There will be an upcoming boss fight soon, and this boss is extremely powerful. You have been warned.
Creator of the Avatar Arena and its Discord server.Introducing a new Arena feature:
Crossovers!
To put it simply, this means that buildings, locations and minor areas (or even large areas entire worlds) from either original or canon stories can cross over to the Arena, becoming an accessible area wherein characters can interact with entirely different dimensions and places. These areas can either be permanent or temporary features.
Only up to two permanent large areas or worlds will be added each week, and players will need to message me first if they wish to include a crossover building, area, location or world.
Crossover buildings and minor areas will be restricted to the rules of the Arena. However, crossover worlds and large enough areas will work differently. If there are small locations or buildings that you wish to have rules implemented to, please inform me.
Now, here are some ground rules as to how Crossover Worlds (as well as large areas) work.
1) There's a boundary between them and the Arena, which would manifest as an unusual area wherein the features of the world and the Arena would merge. This boundary regenerates from damage, and is bound to the rules of the Arena.
2) When in the area of the world that has crossed over, only the rules regarding having nerfed (or weakened) powers which are specialised as to how that world functions will be in place. If an Arenagoer dies in the area, they will simply respawn somewhere in the Arena.
3) Meanwhile, the natives of the world crossing over to the Arena, unless they have had some exposure to the Arena beforehand, if they die, will die according to the rules of their world.
If players wish to inform me of additional (or exempted) rules and the like, please do so using PMs.
All included Crossovers will be listed in the OP of the Discussion page.
Additional information:
1) Maps are preferred, but not necessary. If one can't provide a map, they can at least post a picture. Lack that, and one can describe it.
2) Some ground rules as to how the Crossover works is highly recommended.

Creator of the Avatar Arena and its Discord server.Ey! Not sure if totally necessary, but planning on adding an OC to this! Should I use that signups page for information, or is there someone else a bit more appropriate?

New Crossover (proposal): SCP Foundation 'verse!
This Crossover area will likely be a new section of city, which secretly plays host to a Foundation Site, and is thus patrolled by Agents and possibly Strike Teams/Mobile Task Forces of the SCP Foundation. Other interest groups may also appear, such as (but not limited to) agents of the Chaos Insurgency, Serpent's Hand members, Manna Charitable Foundation volunteers, and Are We Cool Yet? Anartists. Both canonical and original SCPs may also appear.
Worthy of note is that the Foundation will not (initially?) realize the area itself is anomalous, and will therefore not apply their usual "hands-off"/exploratory policy to other dimensions, instead acting as though they are in their own world. As such, characters or objects displaying anomalous properties - unusual traits or powers - will be liable to be monitored and if possible, captured by Foundation Agents, before being designated an SCP and contained under a Secure Containment Procedure.
As the Foundation is thorough in its containment procedures, a character so captured may be respawned via the Arena's respawn system at their player's convenience, if the player does not wish to attempt or play out their escape. Alternatively, they may of course escape via their own powers, or with assistance, assuming there are such gaps in the Foundation's security or containment procedures - such as if the Foundation is unaware of the full extent of the "subject's" capabilities. They are not, after all, omniscient or infallible. Nor, however, are they a pack of slobbering idiots, holding the world together with duct tape and prayers and plenty of dumb luck, and obvious holes in containment procedures should be avoided.
For that same reason, counter-operations against them, or attempts to sieze SCPs under their custody, are certainly plausible - and viable, depending on the participants. Of course, Foundation personnel are rarely stupid, and their guards are generally selected for their sanity and competence. They are also reinforced by not insignificant security forces. A head-on assault would likely become a major event.

"We can handle what is true, for we are already living it."
Boss Battle always feature several players, yes :D
They also have plot build-up but it's still easy to grasp even if you're new to the Arena or the plot. It's also possible (and common) to put music in your posts, so feel free to do it !
As for the Conflict Ball, it is sort of frowned upon, but if you want a fight, you can propose directly, I'm sure that people will agree to fight.
