Been mulling it over and loosely planning it for a little while: Metroid RP. You're a team of bounty hunters sent to investigate a deserted rogue planet, starting from mysterious surface ruins and delving deeper to uncover the planet's secrets, whereupon you discover it wasn't quite as 'deserted' as first thought.
Fairly standard rules-light play-by-post RP with a focus on story, structured somewhat like a dungeon crawler. Guest appearance by Samus.
I'd be interested in something like that
Ooooo, I’d play that.
I'm interested
Just a simple man, making my way through the Tropes. Not sure when I'd start it, but if I decide to do, would anyone like to be a part of a Virtual Superhero game in the vein of Code Lyoko, Superhuman Samurai Syber Squad, etc...
My difference between those types of shows and my game would be your characters avatars would be based on in-universe Video Games, (the ones the players in real life would make up) and would have classes with strengths and weaknesses based on genre. For example a player with a Virtual Avatar from an RTS they think up would have a huge amount of soldiers but their soldiers would be weaker than any single character in another genre and they have to protect a main hero or main building or they would lose, or a FPS character would have the fastest attacks but be terrible at melee combat.
Does that idea interest anyone here on TV Tropes?
I've been feeling the itch to at least possibly run another RP, though I'm not certain which idea to go with. I've discussed them a bit with people over Discord here and there, but I figured I should finally put out a post on the forum to see what interest there would be from people I've already talked with, if any.
The one I most personally feel like running is one taking a premise I'm sure you've probably seen in at least one place or another before. The characters would be probably normal people from a normal earth, who for whatever reason end up on a weird train that's traveling to weird and fantastical worlds. Since the train would be their only possible way home, they would have to keep riding it, but since they don't want to starve and whatnot, they would have to forage at the stops the train makes. So the story would be about the challenges they face in the fantastical worlds to get what they need to survive, while making sure they always get back to the train in time before it leaves without them.
The second idea is set with a typical medieval fantasy world facing a time of crisis, when suddenly through some means their whole world is merged with another world, basically modern day earth. Both worlds are jumbled together like two different puzzles pieced together at random, throwing both into chaos. The pantheon of deities of the medieval fantasy world are trying to fix things up, but there's only so much they can do to influence the world directly, so they start granting their powerful boons to mortals of their choice, imbuing them with powers and making them into the deities' champions. As you can probably guess, the PCs would be those champions in question, and you could play as a person from either the modern day earth or the medieval fantasy world.
The third idea was inspired from watching a playthrough of God of War Ragnarok. The idea is that like in that setting, the deities of old pantheons like Norse, Greek, Egyptian, Aztec and etc. were in fact real, though also like GoW they were less capital G gods and more like immortal superheroes with flavored powers who were worshiped by humans in ancient times as gods. However, the gods were eventually sealed away into a magical stasis by a secret society of humans who wished to see humanity following their own path, and not continue to be subjects of those immortal beings... Then in the year 21XX, the secret society starts hastily unsealing some of the gods, but why? Because the earth is being invaded by aliens, and humanity is losing. Of course, you would play as one of those gods.
It also occurs to me that the third idea might work a little better if it was set on a fictional earth with OC gods made up from fictional pantheons instead of being based on actual old religions. Though I did personally think that making your own interpretation of some old mythology would be part of the fun.
I want to additionally add that for any of these ideas, I'm trying to decide if I would have them just operate free form like RPs normally do here, or use a very simple dice rolling system to determine outcomes of attacks and stuff.
So, let me know if there's any of these you think you would play in, which one you like best if it's more than one, and what your opinion is on free form vs. dice rolls for rules.

You are reading this. And both sound like great ideas.
I don’t want to hear anything. I don’t want to see anything, or speak anything…I like the train rp idea and the simple dice system.
Considering a comeback with a Super Robot War-inspired/structured RP, but in the vein of having various Kamen Riders/Metal Heros/Super Sentai (and Power Rangers) mixed in.
Already having two scenarios in mind to start with. :)

Well got a signup started per RP I previously mentioned.
So, I'm pondering a Justice Avengers RP thread.
I'm currently thinking either an Old Man Logan deal, playing new heroes after the age of heroes ended and going from desert town to desert town across the continental united states.
Or a 2099 kinda deal, fighting Megacorps in the dark future as people in spandex.
TakeshisCastle rp anyone?
Elaldablog.neocities.orgWeird thought: I've tried to do a couple of games where people wake up as magical girls. Well, what about a game where players are a group of evil magical girls?
I've been thinking about a RP where we're basically finding Chomiks for whatever reason at some point, but I had no idea how the hell I was supposed to pull it off without it either just being a near-anarchic mess or being literally way too complicated.
EDIT: I also have an idea for a Sparklecare (2018) one, but that thing is pretty obscure so I don't know if anyone will know what I'm talking about.
EDIT 2: Well, that ISOT forum game fulfilled both of these anyway, granted Sparklecare was REALLY short lived. The Chomiks are still going strong, though.

Remind me to kill that annoying speakerAlternate Format Yu Gi Oh RP?
We can pick one of the Konami formats (Like Generations, Pegasus Challenge, Heart of the Underdog, Common Charity)
Or we can make our own custom format.
GIVE ME YOUR FACEWho'd want a Transformers RP set in G1, around 1988 as the Autobots and Decepticons wake up after so many millions of years?
I'd be up for it.
Would anyone be interested in an RP based on the New World of Darkness (AKA Chronicles of Darkness First Edition) at all?
Lover of anime, video games, old-school Rock & Roll music, yaoi, horror, motorcycles, classic cars, trains, and historical fictionAbsolutely!
Victor of HGS S320 | "There's rosemary, that's for remembrance. Pray you, love, remember."I'd be interested in both the World of Darkness and the Transformers RP. Just not together (though werewolves and vampires vs. robots does sound kinda cool).
I'd be up for some Hunter stuff in the World Of Darkness
Sounds fun.
