Fandoms you wish had fics

A lot of fandoms are either in a state of perpetual near death, are dead, or are inactive as heck.

For the past few months I've been wanting:

• Lately I've been craving an unironic Barbie fic based on the toys that delves into the characters in-depth. Obviously, no such fic exists.
• More Rainbow Brite fics would be nice.
• I can't find enough Haibane Renmei works. Apparently they were often on sites besides FF.
• My Little Pony. No, not FIM. I'm talking the other gens. Hundreds of characters and yet so few fics.
• Jem and its comic reboot need more fics. I feel I've read every fic twice.
• Any Erin Hunter work not named Warrior Cats. There are like 20 fics combined compared to the 10000+ for Warriors.
• I want to read more Charlotte/Vendetta fics for Making Fiends.
• Yo-kai Watch has almost no (English) fanfics.
• Budding fandom but ARMS needs more fics asap.
• More Nanoha fics that were in English would be nice. Everything's in Spanish. I can read Spanish but not fluently, so it's an eye-sore.

The other thing about ARMS (besides being relatively new) is that it has barely any story and only a little bit of background info as far as the characters go. Sure, that means fanfic writers can do almost anything they want with it, but it’s also more demanding because there’s so little to work with.

Smash Bros is a similar case, except it’s got a huge fanbase and uses characters from things that already have fans, many of whom have established personalities and backstories. As a result, it gets a ton of fanfics, but from my experience, most of them aren’t worth reading.

Lack of plot never hurt a fandom. I've seen a crap ton of fanworks for series with minimal characterization or plot. Heck, as mentioned, SSB has a huge amount of fanworks despite the fact only one game thus far has had a plot. ARMS has enough characterization to have fanworks.

Sometimes I wish I was an artist rather than a writer. Then I could make fanart out of anything, no matter how non-existent the plot is. Alas, none of my attempts at being an artist have stuck. It's not my thing.

School Live. Particularly ​since the University arc in the actual manga was terrible but had lots of potential to be great. Would love to see a rewrite fic of that arc as well as more SL fanfics in general since there's so much you could do with the characters and setting, but at best there's like 10 of them and almost all of them are either about the anime or some terrible OC's.

Honestly, I wish the Nutri Ventures fandom had fics, aside from the 5 or so bizzare Undertale crossover fics on Archive Of Our Own. I checked, these are a thing.

I wish there was a Nutri Ventures fandom in general. It (the show) is kind of a huge special interest of mine...

Trollz has about 13, Lady Lovely Locks about 6, Robopon has 1, Star Darlings about 15, and Metal Walker, Peppermint Rose, and Rose Petal Place have zero. (In 2008 I wrote, as far as I know, the only Bionic Commando fanfic out there.)

For all of the Yu-Gi-Oh fics out there you don't see too many about the Toei anime or spinoffs like Capsule Monsters, either. Same with G1-G3 MLP fics and Sonic Shuffle fics.

I'm frankly surprised there isn't more Primeval fanfiction out there. I know one guy on Deviant Art who did a whole bunch of illustrations of creatures that he thought would work well in the series, but he never wrote any sort of story to go with them.

A surprising amount of awesome nostalgic 80s-90s cartoons have low or comparatively low fic turnout, though maybe it's cause they were so awesome not many fans could add to them XD

Paperinik New Adventures / Paperinik New Era

For me it's Spyro. I know there's a lot about the Legend of Spyro series, but I was hoping to see a sudden rise in original trilogy-based fics that so far hasn't materialized.

I know the franchise is kind of obscure in the West, but the Kiseki series needs way more fics considering the fact it's made of 10 games so far, with more to come in the future.

Tom Strong. Sure, he might be a Doc Savage expy, but he's been a Science Hero since the 1920s. There are TONS of untold tales to come up with.

In fact, most of the Tomorrow Stories crew as well. Just try to do a Splash Brannigan story that's non-visual.

Personally, I'd love to find some fanfics based on Phantom of the Opera that DON'T ship Christine with the Phantom, or some nice Caitlin/Cisco fics for TheFlash2014.

As for fandoms which, as a whole, lack fanfics...I'd love to see some Ladyhawke fics, even if it's just fluff about Isabeau and Navarre finally getting to enjoy each other's company.

Honestly, we need more story driven DEATH BATTLE! fics, like how the lives of the hosts are off camera or kinda a "What if" scenario with characters meeting somewhere up.

The only two I can think of, fitting those criteria, are "Death Battle: Behind the Scenes" from me on fanfiction.net and "DB Aftermarth" (that one IDK the author, but it`s on fanfiction.net)

There's some older movies that I'd really like to read fan fictions about because I was so invested in the world. Call me silly but I think the world could use more Big Trouble in Little China fanfics. I wanna see Jack Burton and the gang get up to more crazy fun adventures, alright? I've heard of the official comic, though, is that any good?

GOOD JTTW fics in English.

I wish for two things. I wish (for one) their was a Existentialist fandom. Two, I wish their were fics shipping Soren Kierkegaard/Friedrich Nietzsche. I feel as though their common senses of romantic misery would make for a stupendous Hurt/Comfort Fic.

Also, some fics within the Metal Gear fandom headcanoning Big Boss and Solid Snake as autistic.

I'm all in for autistic headcanon fics! While I'm not in that specific fandom, I have written fics more clearly portraying Luna Lovegood as autistic, and, on a more obscure note, Spottedleaf

Oh, you have autistic headcanons too. I only headcanon those two (Three, because I also do it with Ocelot). Although I only headcanon Solid as well Big Boss because he is the latter's clone son.

Ground Control. Both the original and its sequel. I wish there was a continuation fic for both original Ground Control's expansion pack, The Dark Conspiracy (ended with a "to be continued" thing, with a shadowy figure that would serve most likely as the main villain) and its sequel, Exodus (ended on a cliffhanger after the heroes escape, barely, from Terran Empire).

Ever since Massive Entertainment sold the rights to Ground Control and World In Conflict, and got renamed to Ubisoft Massive and developed The Division (way to throw all the skills they've honed making World In Conflict! Boo), I kept hoping and hoping Rebellion would've done something with the IP. It's almost 2019 and I lost hope.

I did google searches for any possible Ground Control fics, I couldn't find any. I really cherish the games.
