Watched a little bit of Class of 3000 (full episodes are up on Youtube, yes really.) Haven't finished it yet, but it's a pretty cute show with a colorful cast of characters. Shame it didn't last too long, but admittedly trying to submit the show's (really expensive) music on top while simultaneously having an ongoing career would probably do that to you.

- Invincible Fight Girl will apparently have a screening at the upcoming Afro-Animation Summit in Burbank, California. Storyboarder Matthew B even posted a post-reaction video and character standee from the last screening months ago.
- IYANU: Child of Wonder is also getting a free-to-attend panel at Black Comic Book Festival in Manhattan, New York. It'll be held at the The Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture building - New York Public Library.
Presented by Lion Forge, participants will get an exclusive behind-the-scenes glimpse at the creation of the highly-anticipated animated series “IYANU,” coming soon to Cartoon Network and Max. The series is based on the popular West African fantasy graphic novel series “Iyanu: Child of Wonder” created by You Neek Studios and Dark Horse Comics.

Furthermore, some production bits of the series was apparently leaked on a North Korean server, of all places, earlier in the week (among other shows). CNN did some coverage with a sample link.

This week I discovered that Maxwell Atoms has a Patreon, where he's been documenting some behind the scenes information about Billy & Mandy, along with details about a new project he's working on.
If you're interested, this post talks about the unmade B&M revival movie he pitched to Cartoon Network a few years ago. It's interesting, though I have the feeling if it were picked up by CN, it would exist in a very different form.

It was to be called “Billy & Mandy Destroy Us All”, and it was about living life with Autism.
The script starts with Mandy at age 20-ish. And her life isn’t what she thought it was going to be. She works at a diner rather than ruling the world. She lives at home with her parents, who now make unboxing videos to stay afloat. Grim and Billy have moved away after some horrible fight. She’s friends with Irwin and Mindy. And on top of it all, she’s been diagnosed with “Frownington’s Syndrome”, so her characteristic scowl has just been a medical condition rather than anything she chose for herself. In short– everything seems to suck.
Early on, Mandy sings a song at the diner lamenting her situation. Mandy songs are always rough, because even though you’ve got Grey (who sings professionally), Mandy can’t really sing without breaking character. So she limps through it, but even she realizees that it’s more than she can handle and finally turns on the autotune. The whole place lights up. With some help from technology, Mandy fits in. But once that’s gone, she’s just another garden variety weirdo.
The primary cast was to be Future Grim from the Dune episode, Adult Mandy, and a typical Billy. Later on, they pick up the pilot versions of the characters for a bit. Eris played a heavy supporting role.
The villain in the movie is The Edgelord, who is the Reaper of the Multiverse. If your universe grows a paradox, SLOICE! – it’s gone, sucked into a black void beyond the edge of time and space. Our problem? Billy & Mandy have promised to be best friends forever, but their friendship is so destructive that it generates paradoxes. The Edgelord wipes out the paradoxes, but Billy & Mandy are best friends forever and therefore must exist…
So basically, every time Billy ate himself or Mandy wished the world out of existence, those things actually happened. We get to revisit old episodes. We get alternate Billys and Mandys. We get to see some cool apocalypses. We return to The Halls of Time. There’s a boppin’ song I’m particularly fond of called “Rise From The Grave” where Billy, Mandy, and Grim go to all of the universes where Billy & Mandy have died in order to resurrect a zombie army.
In the end though, it's a celebration of the acceptance of reality. It’s really Mandy’s story of self-acceptance. My story of self-acceptance.
I’m really sorry that I won’t be able to share the movie with you (though maybe I’ll drop some of the lyrics and art) but I am glad that I could share this. In addition to being all about me, the movie was my love letter to Autistic people. I function pretty well and I barely function. Here’s to all of us, getting through it together.

I'd be lying if I told you that some part of me didn't want one more Billy and Mandy story. Honestly, I'd watch this if it had been made.
Is there any interesting production info he's given out? Anything on his time on Cow and Chicken/I Am Weasel, for that matter? I rewatched some of the Weasel episodes he wrote and a lot of the jokes could have easily fit into Billy and Mandy...

Anyone wonder why Samurai Jack isn't considered part of the Cartoon Cartoons? Considering it was an original series produced by Cartoon Network that began between 1996 (when they began using the branding) and 2003 (when the brand name was dropped), why was Samurai Jack never considered a Cartoon Carton?
Heh...heh... Just when I was about ready to watch Operation: Z.E.R.O. on Max, I find that neither it nor Codename: Kids Next Door are on that service anymore. Thanks universe, for making my plans tonight be inconvenienced.
