Judging by Kappa Mikey and his later stuff (which wasn't all that good), he seemed to have some asphyxiated grudge against anime. At least to me.
If you don't agree, then feel free to dismiss my theories.
Even if I had different face, I AM STILL DISGRACED.You know The Mysterious Mr. Enter, right? Well, it appears he is the cause of harassment on Sponge Bob writer Casey Alexander's twitter account.
He gave it on his deviantART journal here: http://mrenter.deviantart.com/journal/Casey-Alexander-438769351
The problem is that Casey can sue him of encouraging harassment. And a whiny Manchild who attacks and complains with pointless hate and overly high standards for childrens' programming versus a man who is simply living out his job and did no harm to anyone will be a pretty one-sided legal battle.
If we wanna talk about Kappa Mikey, it has its own thread. Let's move on then.
I do not much care for Mr. Enter.
Let's just say count yourself glad that you don't. He clearly has his head stuck far up his ass.
Jinbo, while I agree with you and I think that may very well be true...
The problem is that that isn't really proof. I believe the real proof may be in one of his videos, the one on "Pet Sitter Pat."

"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."He has a "The Reason You Suck" Speech for Casey on This Very Wiki that shows his hate for him.

That shows he gave out Casey's Twitter account ...how?
Jinbo, I think I might actually have to watch the aforementioned video just to see if it's true. And once my eyes gain their sight back and I get back the will to live... I might get my answer!
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."Um... what? :/
(Ã la Mc Bain) That's a joke.
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."I don't get it.
OK, so it wasn't a funny joke.
The point of the matter is, I have no idea if the above is true. He may have made that speech about Casey Alexander but I still have no idea how people just up and one day discovered his Twitter when things seemed to be going alright before then.
He probably revealed it. I have no idea if he did.
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."I'm pretty sure he did.
Me and this Mr. Enter fella have differing opinions - And I'm keeping it that way from here on out, knowing all of... THAT. Because I want nothing to do with that asshole. EVER!
I may hold Western Animation myself to higher standards than it has been as of late (we Americans could use more good action shows and female - focused shows that aren't about school nonsense, but that's just me...), but yeah. THIS IS PATHETIC.
Hell, it's why I unsubscribed from him on You Tube recently - in fact, there are a lot of internet reviewers I really need to stop watching , because their BS opinions are more draining and upsetting for me than entertaining. I won't say names. It ain't worth it!
Now, I hope I didn't derail this discussion any further than it might ave been so far...

Even if I had different face, I AM STILL DISGRACED.It wouldn't hurt to exercise caution in revealing this stuff, tho...
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."I wouldn't say mid-2000's Nick was good or bad, just really, really forgettable - but that was due to Nick's own practices, not necessarily to the fault of the shows themselves.
In the mid 2000's, Nick had this really irritating habit or treating a lot of its cartoons as filler to make up the space between their headliners - too many shows were run while only kind of being advertised, not very well promoted and generally not treated as if Nick cared about whether or not they had potential for longevity or popularity. Then after their fifteen minutes of fame, they were cast aside for the next short lived show.
Too many good shows just kind of faded away after lackluster runs - Catscratch, Kaput And Zosky, The Secret Show... it's kind of like a network version of Discard and Draw. As a result I honestly have to be reminded that Nick had shows during that time that aren't the one's the kept shoving down people's faces.
It's a real shame that they can actually fill a whole second network full of the shows they didn't really know what to do with, but it's at least better than Disney's habit of never bothering to give their old animated shows any attention at all after they're done with them.
To be honest, I feel like every animated network was screwing up royally in some way or another during the mid-2000's: Disney was churning out poorly written cheapquels, and treating their tv runs like the second coming of cheap, two-dimensional 80's/90's esque action shows (lol, Get Ed), and Cartoon Network was making it's attempts to copy Nick's successes really obvious and dismantling what good they did have all over the place. I really hate to have that mindset, but the whole period was just kind of... forgettable. It was one big aesop for why cartoons need to at least partially be more creator driven.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Don't forget El Tigre, that was a really good show.
God yes. El Tigre was freaking awesome, and every time I hear about the plans it had for another season I cry a little inside.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Kaput And Zosky and The Secret Show were both imports, though. Nicktoons back at the time was mostly filled with reruns of older toons.
Cartoons were still pretty damn creator driven at the time - most shows from Nick and CN were creator-driven. I have a copy of Not Just Cartoons - Nicktoons! and most of the creators for the shows do come off as being involved in them.

"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."I think around 2008-09 is when Nicktoons really got drenched in more superhero/Spongebob/Dreamworks shows. ...in fact that's also around the time they took the word "Network" out of their name.
I have that book too. And it's a shame that they never made a sequel book. ...then again, I'm not sure how well coffee table books are doing these days.

Oh, I got that book for Christmas this year. It is a must-have for any Nicktoons fan.
Were they any particular years in which they got drenched in Klasky/Csupo shows?
I think those Klasky/Csupo shows were big before Nicktoons really took off as its own network.

Those mid-2000 shows had some real gems though. Select episodes of Kappa Mikey were actually very funny and entertaining. The Secret Show was consistently inventive with its premise and reuse of structure in the same way Phineas and Ferb reuses its formula and makes it fresh every time, and in fact, both have countless catchphrases. The whole network felt much more indie. ...then Nick had a shift in management and they decided to revise their entire Nick universe to be more unified.
Glad to see I'm NOT alone with loving the The Secret Show (even if the animation was a bit ugly.). I know I've said that before somewhere, but I don't give a shit about the past at the moment.
Even if I had different face, I AM STILL DISGRACED.
What did you here about the creator? How was he a hack?
