[up]My guess is that the new 'main' Earth, which we first saw in the last couple of issues after Co IE, quickly changed itself after the end of the story. For the first few months after the event, characters did remember what came before, but it wasn't long before those memories faded into oblivion, and as the memories faded, the characters began to change to fit their new reality, and their new memories.

Or to go for the Doylsian, just like with the New 52, they had no idea what the $%$% they were doing at first.

I asked the question on Tumblr, and got a response saying to basically not worry about it unless I'm reading something directly related to it.

The Post-Crisis Earth had much of Pre-Crisis continuity "in Broad Strokes" so that they didn't have to completely reboot all the books. Certain characters like Superman and Wonder Woman were seen as needing complete overhauls, and books that were directly affected by the changes had those changes explained/handwaved. The Golden Age characters and their descendants needed special care—Fury was deliberately mindwiped before her history was completely retconned.

The characters remembered that "a" Crisis happened, and that their universe was imperiled, but not the exact details which grew fuzzier with each passing issue. Most, for example, no longer remembered the multiple Earths, but a version of their past life where everyone had been on one Earth, no matter how ludicrous that was.

What I found endlessly frustrating about the Crisis is that they made a specific POINT out of not having Legion be affected by it.

In the "New Earth" that followed the Crisis, the worlds were merged but the people still remained distinct; Alan Scott had been Green Lantern in the '40's, and Hal Jordan (and John Stewart and Guy Gardner) was the Green Lantern of the present. There was a Hawkman in the 40's named Carter Hall who was a reincarnated Egyptian prince and there was a "modern" Hawkman named Carter Hall who was an alien named Katar Hol. Only Earth 2's Superman, Batman, Robin, Aquaman, and Wonder Woman ceased to exist...sort of. Superman (along with Lois and the Superboy of Earth Prime) "went into the light" that Alex Luthor opened up at Crisis's end; Wonder Woman went to live with the gods of Olympus, Batman was already dead so I suppose didn't mind ceasing to exist. It was hinted here and there that Robin was still alive and just electing to lay low, and Earth 2's Aquaman didn't even take part in the Crisis (but DID appear in a Crisis related issue of All Star Squadron...just in time to wink out of existance). Clear as mud, no? Apparently, though, this new status quo only lasted until Byrne's Man of Steel, which kind of stands as a point of delineation. Crisis was the springboard for a reboot that didn't fully start happening until Man of Steel, and then continued through Perez's Wonder Woman, Batman Year One, etc etc.

So apparently, TNT may order a pilot for a live action Teen Titans (possibly just called Titans) featuring the Wolfman/Perez team (Dick Grayson/Nightwing, Starfire, Raven, etc). Akiva Goldsmith is attached; I wonder if this is making use of that movie pitch he apparently did for a Titans film a few years ago...

Pre-New 52 Ted Kord and Booster Gold are joining the Justice League 3000.

Apparently this entire time JL 3 K was actually a Stealth Sequel to the out of continuity "Formerly Known as the Justice League" minis the writers did a few years ago.

I propose we nuke the New 52 and bring any concepts worth salvaging to Booster and Ted's earth.

I was wondering how that was going to work when I saw the announcement. Looks like no one else knows either.

So what big stuff from before the reboot is still canon? Eg I know "The Killing Joke" is still canon, as is the whole (or at least most of the) Ring War arc, and Batman, Inc... What else?

As some of you might remember, for the longest time, i've been lamenting about my feelings towards Marvel's apparent rise to glory and DC apparent fall from grace.

These days, the heroes of Marvel Comics are on everyone's lips, and that will only continue, now that Disney owns Marvel (along with the association of Disney characters and Marvel characters). DC Comics' characters are barely even acknowledged anymore; hardly anyone talks about their movies anymore (the most recent ones even less), the last serious animated DC comics show only lasted for about one season and the only two DC Comics show still on are a comedy show that some people think is more stupid than funny and recently aired drama show on FOX.

I remember a time when DC comics shows were on everyone's lips and certain Marvel shows were barely on TV, which means DC was all that was on my mind when i thought about the Superhero genre. Now, Marvel's the main thing that comes to mind, and while the company does have a lot to offer, certain things about it just don't and never will sit with me (S.H.I.E.L.D.'s self-righteousness and Jameson and Kelly's belief that they have the right to decide what people do and don't deserve and who will live and who shall die). And it's only gotten worse now, with Halloween drawing closer.

You see, I've watched episodes from both "The Spectacular Spider-Man" (Marvel) and "Young Justice" (DC); both produced by Greg Weisman, and both had one episode set on Halloween. The problem is, the Marvel show (The Spectacular Spider-Man) is the one i remember the most, and since my thoughts regarding Spider-man shows have run astray in the past, you can see why that would be a problem. I've tried to balance it out by watching the Halloween episode of the DC show (Young Justice), but my thoughts about the Marvel show are just too strong, and i honestly can't figure out why.

And it doesn't stop there, the more recent Spider-Man show; "Ultimate Spider-Man" has done two Halloween episodes, with Halloween being a central element to the plot, while I can only think of three other DC comics shows where Halloween was used as part of the story, but in two of those shows, the holiday barely had any impact on the story at all.

Simply put, i'm a DC fan all the way, and Halloween is one the three big holidays i look forward to every year. As much as i like Marvel, i don't want it to be what i think about for Halloween. Anyone have an idea on how to handle this problem?
